My children and I have been clients of Ann's for over 20 years. She used to work at a salon that my daughter attended a birthday party for a friend and Ann was one of the stylists. My daughter wanted to continue going to Ann for her hair cuts so eventually, the rest of us started visiting Ann for hair cuts. When Ann opened Bella Hair Design she notified us that she would be moving to her new location. She gave me all of her contact details as well as a choice whether we wanted to continue to have her as our hairstylist. We have been customers of Bella Hair Design ever since. She has cut and colored my hair as well as my daughter's and continues to cut my son's hair. Over the years, she has become a part of our family, styling our hair for proms and weddings. We are not a high maintenance family. I don't bring in color swatches for her to match my hair color, I trust her making my hair look as close to my original hair color as possible. I don't micro manage Ann, she asks me questions about what I am looking for and my hair always comes out the way I want it to. If she feels something won't look right with my face shape, she will tell me the pros and cons of my choice. Not every hairstyle goes with every face shape and I trust her to give me guidance. All of the stylists in the salon are pleasant and always say hello when they see you. There have also been times when I had to change my appointment and Patty has cut my hair. I have always been very pleased with Patty's styling as well. She, as well as everyone else (Kathleen, Alaina, Val and Joanne) in the salon, make me feel welcome when I am there. WARNING: NOT A PROGRESSIVE HAIR SALON.DON'T VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO RECEIVE YOUNG FRESH LOOK, NEVERMIND GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK. I am a 30 year old new comer to this small town and wanted to get a fresh look, a makeover that i could be proud of and feel good in. It was a rushed appointment, but an older madam with a short retro look reassured me she would take care of what I wanted as she had worked there for 30 plus years with several young people. I asked for shoulder hair length layers to frame my round face, and a flattering red hair tint to compliment my light skin and dark brown eyes, I even reference the "Emma stone" look and she said she knew exactly what I wanted . I had never dyed my hair red and I was nervous that my choice of hair color would no flatter me, but I had confidence that she would at least nail my hair cut going from her mentioned decades of experience, leaving me with well done layers and a cute and flattering side bang. What I received was a very badly done layering of hair that looks like I am wearing 2 rows of uneven cut tassels one on top of the other with uneven, unflattering bangs. I quickly realized how thick the layers looked and let her know, and she preceded to use a different even thicker scissors to cut in the same way. She then dyed the hair and when it was done she preceded to wash it quickly, leaving most of the hair dye on my scalp and a half inch thick ring around my forehead and neck past the hair line. I was already uncomfortable and unhappy, knowing I had to go to work right after wearing a red ring around my head and although she trying tried to scrub it right out of me with a damp towel it did next to nothing to get it off and her harsh motions against my skin only infuriated me more. She preceded to dry the hair at which point the thick choppy ends were outstandingly noticeable, I gave her one more chance before I were to loose my s$&@/ and suggested that she use a razor blade to fix the choppy mess (from experience styling the tips with razor give it a fine defined look). She got nervous and went to consult the owner who said 4 words to her and looked at me, from afar. She grabbed the razors and agreed that the razor would give the tips the desired feel I was looking for, and at this point I felt helpless and hoping this would be my saving grace. She went at like a lumber jack cuts a tree, chopping motion without refinement never mind technique. it was more than apparent now the woman knew next to nothing about layering tips in a way it would flatter a young face, no finesse no technique I forgot to mention I wear glasses due to very bad eyesight so I was noticing all the issues with very blurry eyes. She did a blowout, bobbying the tips inward at which point they were not noticeable. She even took me outside, just to see how pretty the hair color looked like. When she was finished I was pressed for time as I had to go to work, the stylist knew I was dissatisfied. I left in a hurry after paying 140 dollars, with this red ring around my face and did not say anything as the blow out concealed the bad layering. One hour later the choppy layers were flat and in full swing, and I decided to contact the owner to let her know. She urged me to come back so she could fix it, I told her I would not as I did not trust her salon services and that I would like my money back for the hair cut, 35 out of the 140. She said she'd call me back with a response but never did. All in all, not a progressive along, the stylist did not know how to cut hair in modern style, do not go there if that's what you're looking for. read more
