Bf and I are regulars here and it's definitely one of our fav Italian places in the area. It's always cool, dark and sophisticated inside. Our food has always been great, as is the bread that comes with the meal. I knock a star because I get the same thing every time (Chicken Piccata) and it always tastes different. This time, for example, it had a vague burnt garlic taste that I don't remember. Bf tries it every time and also agrees. But overall, great, affordable, pretty much never a wait even on a Friday night. We will continue to support this business! read more

Had been a few years since we'd come to Bella as we've been frequenting their sister location Verona. Much smaller menu than Verona, but service and atmosphere are top notch. Food was good and we enjoyed everything. They charge $7 to BYOB and honestly that is my biggest issue with the place. But we'll probably come back. read more

They offer a menu that isn't very large, so you know everything on the menu is going to be perfected and out quick. After finishing the bread and butter that's offered my meal was brought which was the Chicken Bella. On one half of the plate was a large, tender, juicy fried chicken breast. It was crispy and flavorful as it was topped with cheese and hiding marinara sauce. It was delicious! The other half of the plate contained the amazing Tortellini Cremora. We found this restaurant by Yelp. Yes, we were in an area we were not familiar with and Yelp guided us here. When we pulled up, I thought, "Oh no." It was a strip shopping center, and not a very enticing one. But, when we stepped into the restaurant, my mind changed. It was warm, inviting, modern, and a hint of elegance. We were treated well by the waitress, and we were served quickly. The rolls came first - they were good. Then the fried mozzarella - they were really good. And finally our dinner was placed in front of us. I ordered the Chicken Marsala with red wine sauce - it was very good! My husband ordered the Calzone and said it was one of the better Calzones he has eaten. For Mother's Day lunch we visited Bella Italia Ristorante. We started our meal with a basket of fresh rolls. Then, we ordered bruschetta and a glass of Prosecco for the moms. We also ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was crisp and lightly fried with a tasty marinara sauce. We finished it off quickly. The bruschetta was a mix of onions, tomatoes, and dressed in a tasty balsamic vinegar dressing served on crisp slices of bread. The Prosecco was a nice addition to the meal. I ordered eggplant parmigiana which was light, flavorful, and delicious. It came with a side of spaghetti. My son had the pasta Alfredo and that was rich and creamy. We also ordered the pasta with meat sauce for my granddaughter. That was a big hit too. Service was excellent. They were so nice and attentive to our needs. When you are dining with little ones, there is always something you need. The restaurant is attractive and designed with warm woods and an attractive bar area. I love places that transport me to another place and Bella Italia Restorante did just that! Walking in you feel like you are in another world than the hot busy Plano streets. The interior is tastefully appointed without being overdone. The drawn blinds allow them to control the ambient lighting regardless of it being daytime or nighttime. The only thing a little out of place is the music. You would expect to hear easy listening Italian or light piano jazz. Instead most songs had some heavy guitar work. The service was very good. We were seated immediately and our server Sara was with us right after being seated. I ordered a Calzone and it was delicious. It was also pretty large, I would say 2 people could share it comfortably. It had the right mix of Ricotta and Mozzarella. I might have liked there to be a stronger Sausage presence, I might have also enjoyed the cheeses layered inside the Calzone instead of separated as they were, but I don't want to be too critical because overall it was really good! We weren't highly impressed with all the food. Our table of 5 and a toddler had mixed reviews. I enjoyed the soup, which seemed to be the best thing we had. The gnocchi's was good but not exceptional. The meatballs were homemade. I think the sauce was lacking for us. The ambiance was fun and decorated for the holidays. Service was good. First time here and probably last, mostly due to distance from home. It's a nice restaurant and the food was fine, but not amazing the high star rating would imply to me for a restaurant of this nature. This is more of a good neighborhood restaurant that I would visit if I lived close by. Maybe its on me for false expectations. It was pretty empty when we got here. There was one other bug group and they sounded like regulars. It's not huge inside but fairly well kept and clean. There was no one at the front but the bartender saw us and told us to pick our spot. Our server was quick to meet us. She was nice and checked up on us during the meal. The food was a-ok. Chicken Bella pasta was the best dish flavor wise but overcooked. We had been customers of Bella Italia for several years, virtually all of our visits being for take-out. During Covid the then owners were very generous providing meals for many in the area. Bella was sold shortly after Covid and the new owners either did not know how to properly prepare good Italian food or didn't care, but in any case the quality of the bill o' fare suffered tremendously to the point where we no longer dealt with them. Fast forward to today and my wife and I decided to give them another try as the reviews we were seeing indicated a definite uptick in the quality of both in-house and take-out. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza (Supreme) which I picked up. The major downfall of most sub-par pizzas is the crust. Even if the ingredients are good, a poor quality crust spoils the entire dish. Not at Bella Italia! The pizza we brought home was SUPER!! The toppings were fresh and plentiful - a word of advice DON'T ask for extra toppings (which you pay for) as there are PLENTY on the basic order. The crust is light and flavorful. All in all, as good a pizza as we have had in a LONG time, and, their prices are reasonable. The lady who took my call in order was friendly, efficient, and professional. Additionally, when I was leaving she went to the front door and held it for me as I exited with my large pizza box and cane in hand. A very nice touch - THANK YOU. read more

We ordered take out - cheese pizza was not good. Crust was tough and chewy - tasted old. Very little topping on the pizza. Chicken parm was okay. Chicken needed seasoning and so did the red sauce. The only thing I can recommend is the pasta which was cooked perfectly Al dente. Cannoli dessert was too sweet. The cake (Italian wedding, I think) was okay. We will not return. Ordered a pickup for a calzone and a small veggie pizza. Veggie pizza get 4 stars. The calzone get 2 stars. The calzone was very overloaded with mozzarella cheese and very, very, very stingy on the sausage. I have not had a decent calzone in this area. MY NEW FAVORITE ITALIAN PLACE!!! We were trying to remember an Italian food place we had read about online, and couldn't recall the name or where. We searched Yelp for Italian Food near our location and Bella came up. We decided to give it a try. Best. Gamble. Ever. Husband and I walked into the restaurant, and I was immediately struck by the beauty of the place, it feels comfortable and classy at the same time. We were greeted right away by our very friendly server. I had seen other reviewers mention the Raspberry Tea and husband ordered a Peroni beer. I felt like I was having a cocktail right along with him - the tea is delightful, so sweet and flavorful. It was a treat. We were waiting for our son to join us, so we ordered the Bruschetta. It was perfect. The bread was lightly crisp on the edges, and textured perfectly in the middle. Fresh tomato, onion and balsamic finished off the deliciousness and beautiful presentation. We were also brought a basket of rolls, more sheer perfection in flavor and texture. Our son arrived just after our salads did, and ordered the same tea I had and agreed immediately about how good it was. The boys had the house salad with a tomato basil dressing, I had the Caesar salad, both were really delicious. We ordered, and before long, our food arrived. Husband had Lasagna - we had read the sauce was a little thinner, and it was, but it was fantastic. Husband hadn't planned to eat the whole thing - portions are generous - but he did. Son and I had the Chicken Parmesan - so thin, crisp, flavorful and it came with perfectly al dente spaghetti. The sauce on both was perfect. Some places make it a little too sweet for me, this was just right. I ended up taking a lot of mine home, and our son wasn't able to finish all his either. We didn't have room for dessert, but plan to partake next visit. Our service was outstanding, our food was outstanding, it's beautiful but comfortable - who could ask for more!!! What a gem.
