    Coppa amarena & affogato!

After just coming home from Italy and being afraid to eat Italian anywhere, a friend recommended Baonecci. We were so pleasantly surprised. The place is cute and cozy inside. Our server Rogelio was so funny and entertaining. We had a pizza and the pasta bolognese. Both were absolutely delicious! Definitely going back to try the meatballs. If you're looking for Italian food in this area I highly recommend!

My fave italian spot in Frisco! Beautiful ambience, reminds me of being in Italy. The staff are always welcoming and friendly! I recommend making a reservation as they are becoming more popular. What we've had: -Bruschetta: always so good! -Focaccia bread: it's ok. -Baonecci salad: a good salad. -Tagliatelle bolognese: a staple! -Tartufata pizza: always a yes! -Carpaccio: highly recommend. -all their desserts yummy! I love taking friends here, such a great restaurant for lively conversation and also dates.

Great authentic Italian. Everything is homemade. Pizza is good. It's thin crust style but very good. Sauce is great flavor. Great service and can be fancy if you want.

VERY expensive BUT also VERY small cannoli. It was good, but the price was outrageous!

The food was good, but obscenely priced. Compare it to Miss Pasta for example. Baonecci's lasagna is good, maybe even a little better than Miss Pasta's; however, it's also 70% more expensive AND a smaller portion. Same with their cannoli - 2x the price of Miss Pasta's, but half the size! See my picture comparison of their cannoli to a Porsche 911 car key. I was shocked when I saw it. Again, the food was good, but the prices are a little out of touch with reality and relative value. My Italian aunts be rollin' in their graves right now.

What an amazing dinner. My birthday Dinner done right! Americle was our server and she suggested we have their special today , Gnudi.. it was amazing.. a must keep gem..Their rissoto ai funghi porcini was top notch. The wine was an excellent recommendation by our server. Bruschetta and Tiramisu chefs kiss.

The food here was amazing! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We had a Judas Spritz and a Hugo Spritz, and both were so good. I don't usually like the taste of alcohol, but the Judas Spritz was delicious and super easy to drink. We started with the bruschetta, and it was perfect. The tomatoes were juicy, hand-picked, and full of flavor. I'm not even a big tomato fan, but I ate every single piece. For the main course, I had a pesto pasta (can't remember the exact name) and a Margherita pizza, and both were incredible. The pesto was super fresh and the pizza was honestly the best pizza I've ever had. We finished with the tiramisu, and it was amazing light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending. Everything from start to finish was perfection, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone! Our waiter was super nice, funny, & very informative. The place was super cute & the vibes were really chill!

I'm torn about writing this review. On the plus side, Baonecci reminds me a lot of the food in Italy. The sauces looked and tasted different from other Italian restaurants in America and I do appreciate that. On the downside, the dishes were underseasoned and didn't pop with flavors. The best dish we tried was the Seafood Risotto and the worst was the Lasagna. The service was magnificent, but I don't believe I will go back for the food.

Located at the end of a shopping plaza and parking is very easy. Food was great and enjoyed the service. Nice place for a date night or meal with the family.

This new family-owned Italian restaurant is located at the edge of a strip mall in Frisco. Love that it is in a location that is easy to access/park. Upon walking in, I immediately noticed that this place was packed. Luckily we had reservations, but we saw a couple come in after us that had to be turned away due to lack of a reservation. So, highly recommended to lock one down in advance. The decor in the restaurant was minimal. The restaurant itself is small and cozy. With all the tables filled, the sound level can get elevated. Because I'm that type of person, the online menu was reviewed throughly prior to our reservation. So, we walked in knowing what we were going to order. My family is from a different region of Italy than the Tuscan roots that this food is based upon. Therefore I knew to keep an open mind to how dishes can be prepared different. With that in mind, pizza and lasagne were two of the must haves. At the time of this review, they did not have a liquor license, and it was BYOB. I noticed several tables brought their own wine, beer, etc. in which they gladly provided glasses. We didn't bring a bottle of wine with us and planned to just try what they had there but I was surprised to be told that the only drink offerings were Pellegrino and still water. I had assumed (hoped) perhaps there'd be some mocktails or other types of refreshments. For the appetizer we ordered the bruschetta. Main course was pizza Margherita, and my SO ordered the lasagne. The bruschetta and pizza Margherita were perfection. Bruschetta had the perfect blend of garlic, olive oil, and fresh tomatoes on sliced grilled/toasted bread. It was very light and refreshing. Perfect for a summer night. The pizza is wonderfully cracker thin with a crispy crust. Upon my first bite, I was immediately transported back to the last time I visited my family in Italy and the pizza I'd have there. The sauce was flavored perfectly with the ideal amount of fresh mozzarella. Easily can be eaten by one person without feeling overly stuffed. Of course, I shared some with my SO, who gave me his sign of approval. The lasagne had their homemade bolognese between layers of homemade pasta along with a béchamel sauce. The béchamel sauce is a must have for me in lasagne. The overall flavors of the lasagne were pretty good. Would've loved more béchamel between the layers, as there were pockets here and there. Overall, it was satisfying. We did not have room to try any of the desserts, but we did see quite a few tiramisùs being served to other tables. Noted for the next visit. All in all we are excited to have an authentic, family-owned restaurant so close. We definitely plan to go back and try the other pizza and pasta offerings.

Love this little gem of an Italian restaurant. The food was exceptionally delicious and the wait staff super friendly. Looking forward to returning.

This wasn't black polish, but whatever it was it looked scary, and not hygienic! The mushroom Alfredo pasta was just okay! The large oversized sliced portobello mushrooms thrown on top of the pasta just didn't present well, and not to mention that my salad had a piece of black hair in it...by the way my hair is blonde. When it comes to food, presentation is everything, even down to the person serving you your food and drinks. I know we live in a society where, sadly, it seems like anything goes, but I think restaurants need to maintain higher standards than a fast food place. Don't get me wrong, even fast food places should do the same! Final note: I just can't get over being served by Dracula, even though he was very nice!

The Caesar salad is simple, fresh, and impeccably done. Make sure you save room for dolci--the dessert bar in the back is both stunning and indulgent. The bar is equally impressive. I have to be honest, this is not my first "rodeo" at this place, but this time I decided to write a review on it. So, this review will be more like an overall one instead of a specific dinner on a specific date. Let's start with the "first impression". The place is nicely set, and the decoration is phenomenal (at least for my taste). Since I normally dine alone, the bar is my best friend. This place has an "ENORMOUS" bar area, so it is very unlikely you'll not find a seat even in a very busy night. Personnel are super attentive, not like a place right in front of the street (sorry but you will have to ready my other review on a place in the area). In my several visits I ordered different things. From the Caesar's salad to the Salmon and many times different types of pasta. I have to be honest, I never been disappointed with any of the plates I ordered there, with the exception of 2. I'll explain. When it comes to appetizers, I always go with some traditional, Caesar's Salad, Prosciutto & Burrata, Caprese Salad o Carpaccio. From all of these I will recommend everything but the Caprese Salad (and this is one of my favorite plates in Italian cuisine). In this one I have to deviate from my normal way of reviewing things and say, I really don't recommend it on taste but on size and price. Basically, it is not worth what they charge for it when you can get the Prosciutto and Burrata for barely a couple of bucks more. My recommendation: stick with the prosciutto, unless you are a vegetarian. About main course, I tried they salmon (really good and light if you are not in heavy eating night), Pappardelle, which is the best if you want pasta with meat, Gnocchi, if you are in a "non-protein" night, and my favorite of the entire pile, Tagliolini al Tartufo. I know, is probably the most expensive plate in the menu, but we are talking about REAL BLACK TRUFFLE shaved onto the pasta tableside!!! When it comes to deserts, I only have once the souffle. Honestly, I did not finish it. It can be my taste, because for me, souffle, the way I discovered and loved in France has to be super fluffy and pretty much dissolve in your mouth, this one was thick and a little bit on the acid side (like it had lemon zest in it). And this constitutes the 2nd plate I did not like there. I will really love to put a 5-star rating on this restaurant, but I will have to say, in my last 2 visits, I saw a little decline on execution. Just as a sample, my gnocchi were a little overcook. I understand is easy to overcook gnocchi, but a restaurant of this kind, should pay more attention to these little things. Even though, I will keep on going to Lombardi's although won't be my first choice for Italian in town. Salute!

The food was amazingly good--one of the best italian places I've had in a while. Our service was subpar. We were a group of 5 people all around the age of 23-24, and it seemed like our server just assumed that made all his shortcomings okay because he tried to act kind of bro-like with us. There were multiple periods of time where we were left alone for anywhere from 10 minutes to 40. It took us a LONG time to get our food even though we were one of maybe 4 parties in the restaurant. One friend got told they were out of something, ordered something else, and the waiter went, "that's a joke, right?" and told him they were out of that too. His entree came out almost a full 30-40 minutes after the rest of ours so he just packed it up to-go. Only a halfhearted apology that everything was taking so long and no type of compensation. The food was good enough that I would go back to try again since partner and I live in the area. But i really hope we don't get this guy as our server again.

The meat chunks were big & there must have been a max of 2 tablespoons of meat in the whole dish. The spicy chicken sauté was tough & rubbery. Both the dishes were made from a can of tomato sauce. No flavor in any dish. The vegetarian platter had some frozen falafels that were deep fried & served with the same 2 dips & some rice. The cheekiest part was the waiter add a 20% gratuity to the bill. I would never go back or recommend anyone go there.
