My first mistake was walking in here. If I could give half a star I would. I have attached two photos. The one without my thumb showing is my left hand and the one with my thumb is my right hand. As you can see there a small bit of peeling and chipping with some on my skin as well. I wanted to remove my acrylic nails with gel polish quickly because it's been over three weeks and it was lifting. So, I checked on google where the closes nail salon to me was. It was here. I walked in and had to wait by the empty receptionist desk for awhile until one of the nail techs asked me what I wanted. She didn't come up and ask me. She yelled across the room. I don't think that's very good customer service. She could've stopped and came up or ask one of her other co-workers to help me. I yelled across the room asking for acrylic removals with gel polish. At least they fit me in quickly as a walk-in. The nail tech took off most of my acrylics but left a little on the end of nails in order for it to be stronger. That's okay, but what's not is that she could have filed the top off unevenly. There were slight bumps that you could see after it was done. I know she saw that my nails were lifting, but she didn't sand down the lifted parts either. I was definitely not satisfied and voiced that she needed to file it down a bit more. I think she heard and ignore my small request. She also sanded a bit of my cuticles as she mentioned that it was $8 to do it. Which I think is a ridiculous price as most salons don't charge for a cuticle cut. Anyways, on to my gel nails. I asked them to keep my natural nail length but to make them look as even in length and shape as possible. I chose an IBD Gel polish. They had an okay but smaller collection than I was use to. The nail tech did not use a proper gel base coat. Instead she used a clear glitter gel polish informing me that the gel colour would stick to my nails better. I don't think so because my nails started peeling before the day even ended. Usually, gel polished would last me two weeks if done correctly even if I was in the pool. She layered the polish on four times before there was even a decent opacity that I liked. How she painted it was uneven and patchy on the third layer, so I had to request for another one layer. The nail tech at least shaped my nails well enough. I had to pay $45 plus tax that comes out to $47 for a dissatisfied removal and gel polish. I felt cheated out of my nail salon experience as I go in to relax and feel pretty for myself. Here I left annoyed and wasted my hard earn money. So annoyed that I had to go home after work (around 9:30pm) and remove everything by myself and do it right. I am definitely not coming back and would not recommend to any of my friends. read more

I will never go back to this place - they have permanently wrecked my nails and given me a nail infection. I went there on the advice of friends - I went in every few weeks so they did get to know me - but then I got an infection. To then have the owner (who always did my nails) blame me and tell me "you probably washed too many dishes" (I worked in an office) and then have the owner bad mouth about me to various friends and colleagues - we've all gone elsewhere. read more

Top quality prices but bad quality results. My mom and I had gift certificates for regular mani/pedis, and we asked for shellac polish. The difference came to $90 for the both of us - just for the addition of shellac polish. This seems a little excessive to me. The shellac color also went on warped, and they used a top coat and base coat with glitter cuz they said it "looks better", but I'm sure they do that to cover up the fact that the polish doesn't look good when it's dried because its probably too old or poor quality. There's so many other asian nail shops in the city that are cheaper and the quality of work is much higher. If I didn't have a gift certificate I would never have gone to this place anyway. read more

My mom and I have been coming here for more than eight years and we'll always be coming here. I know that there are probably fancier places out there, but the location, prices, and familiarity with the owner and the estheticians who work here can't be replaced. My manicures and pedicures are always clean and I'm always happy with the result. If I happen to nick a nail while the polish is still wet I've always been able to get it painted over again. I also enjoy the magazines they have and the massage chairs. Once when I was in a rush, they were able to have a few people work on my hands and feet at the same time which was very helpful. I do remember one not-so-great manicure where too much of my cuticle was cut off and it bled a little bit, but it wasn't a huge deal. I've also gotten gel nails many times here before and I'm always satisfied. Eyebrow waxes are quick, clean, and painless. I always get the same esthetician for my eyebrows who I'm happy with and I've never had a bad eyebrow wax here. Eyelash perms are the best I've ever had. I've been to two other places and Bella does it the best. The esthetician doesn't let the perming solution touch my skin around my eyes so I don't get irritation, my eyelashes are significantly curled, and the perm usually lasts me almost a month. This is kind of ridiculous but I can call in, say hello, and whoever is at Bella will know it's me, no joke. They will also usually know what services I need and will do their best to schedule me in. The ladies there also ask about my life and I was once given a discount for a bunch of services I had done for my graduation due to my loyalty. The estheticians and the owner are also starting to recognize my boyfriend who sometimes comes to pick me up and when he does, they'll direct him to wherever I am which is great. Pros: friendly staff, massage chairs, magazines, good selection of polishes, and quality service Cons: can be a bit crowded and it's not the prettiest salon in the world Verdict: I'll always be coming back here and I've brought many friends who have been happy with Bella. read more

I picked up a skin rash! Aka ring worm! When I was getting my nails done I looked around and thought ..this place is dirty. I don't let them do a manicure and use tools THANK GOD. My lower arms are laying semi flat alongside surface area. 1 hour after getting home it looked like bug bites. I get nervous. The next day it flares up into ring worm. So disgusted. Then decided to have them removed due to the cost of upkeep and wow....what a mess my nails are in now. I am often asked whi does my nails I had tried all forms of nails and wraps but nothing worked before these gels as my own nails were very soft. . I have never had a problem with this salon . My daughter and I have going to Bella since she was in elementary school, she's now 20. My mom moved into the neighbourhood 5 years ago and she has become a regular. We are always greeted warmly and have been more than satisfied with the service. We moved to Delta a few years ago but continue to come back because the service is so much better than other places we tried. We often go as a family and aren't the only ones. I don't normally write reviews of businesses online. But when I saw the rating that Bella Nails has on yelp, I had to offer my opinion. The present rating does not accurately reflect the quality of service I have received. So here is my review..... As other reviewers have noted this is not a fancy shmancy nail salon. But if you want a good pedicure, this is the place to go. They work very hard to get your feet soft and smooth. They work much harder and longer than any other salon I have been to, getting your feet in tip-top shape--and I have been to a lot of different salons. They scape with razors, buff with electric buffers, moisturize, clean up the cuticles, trim and file your nails, and have a great colour selection of polishes. My feet always feel and look great when they are done with me. I had a problem with cracks in my heals for about 10 years, and it has cleared up since I started going to Bella (no special creams or treatments needed). I especially like that they have the latest OPI colours for when I am looking for something new. By far, the best pedicure for the price in the lower mainland, perhaps all of Canada! I have been going to Bella for 4+ years on a regular basis and never had any problem with infection. I do not find their practices unsanitary (and I have a bit of a hang-up about cleanliness in salons). The staff are friendly and make an effort to connect with you. I have never had a problem being fit in if I call at the last minute. They do not rush me out after the service. They address me by name. Why 4 stars instead of 5? I often get a mani-pedi when I go, and I find the quality of the manicure less consistent. I am very picky about the length and shape of my nails. I find that depending on who gives me the manicure the quality of shaping is inconsistent. Never terrible, but I find some of the ladies are better than others. They sometimes work on my feet and hands at the same time (two ladies) and I find that the manicure is a bit sloppy when it is done this way. On both hands and feet, the polish is terrific and lasts a long time if you let it dry properly (don't know what kind of top coat they use, but it's long lasting). They use OPI and Zoya polishes and have an overwhelming amount of colour choice. I never do gels or anything fancy, just standard polish and it usually lasts a week or more on my hands and about 6+ weeks on my toes. I usually need to remove the polish due to growth, not because of chips or fading. In the interest of full disclosure, I have healthy strong nails, which probably contributes to the longevity of my mani-pedi. I have noticed some ridging on my thumb nails in the last few years, but never thought it was due to my manicures (as another reviewer suggested) but assumed it was age or health related. Who knows? Of all the nail salons I have been to (I don't go to fancy spas for nail care), the quality of service at Bella is the best. I have tried other nail salons when going with a friend or when using a group.on or other deal. No other salon has measured up to Bella. I can't comment on any of their other services. I'd rather go to a spa for waxing and other services. But for standard nail care, Bella is the best. Give it a try! read more
