Laura Brogan is wonderful. She did my highlights and cut about a month ago. I love the results! She's very professional, upbeat and positive. I enjoyed her pleasant disposition. She's very good about getting feedback and tailoring to your desires. Deborah does facials, and I LOVE the results. She uses the unique, soothing and anti-aging Biologique products. Her massages are incredible. I've had about 6 facials now and plan on doing them regularly with her. Stunning, gorgeous first-class spot with prices to match. Loved getting my hair beautifully done here but I came for a dry style - no wash - just curling iron and was charged $68 for a 25-minute service. I was very happy with the results, but not sure that the value was that much more worthwhile than a Dry Bar - especially for less than half the cost. I am biased about the makeup artist (Oscar) because he is amazing and a total sweetheart. Just not sure I love the makeup line they have as much as I love him - will give it another try and see how it wears. Definitely recommend, but with the caveat to be aware that you'll probably be spending more than expected. Love that there are patio areas and also wine! One more note - if you park at the meter ($3 per hr), be sure to add enough time because a security person was clearly monitoring the activity. Next time, I'll try not to be in such a hurry and just park in the garage. read more

A stylist once told me that his clients were his walking advertisements. My daughter and I have been following Destiny's Instagram for a while. We were impressed with the pictures she shared and we were eager to sit in her chair. After a consultation, Destiny said my shoulder length hair would be $425 and my daughter's hair would be $125 an hour and would take about 5 hours. We agreed to the price and scheduled our appointment at a later date but for the same day (at her request). During the 7 hour appointment, Destiny was rude one minute and smiling the next. At one point during her frustration she accused me of telling her that we were coming from out of state and that is why she scheduled us the same day. We do not live out of state. The icing on the cake was my daughter's haircut that was supposed to be a trim. In some places it's 6 inches shorter. Of course, with long hair you don't notice until you stand up, but what a shock! Over $1100 later and we both looked like we still needed highlights (except for a highlighted piece in the front) and my daughter had the worst cut she has ever had. Wouldn't even provide a receipt and or itemize receipt. I don't understand why these high end places continuously hire rude staff for the front desk. I went here for an appointment last week, I was definitely needing a "ME" day! I absolutely was in love with all my services, but, however.... I have been severely disappointed by the customer service, not by the stylists, but instead the front desk lady! You would think the first face you see would be friendly and welcoming, not on their phone and ignoring you! On top of that when I asked this lady for help, she said she was too busy and I had to wait for someone else! I believe her name was lili , so her and I didn't have a great start. As I get my services it was amazing, but when I walked out, she called me a racial slur and videoed me without my permission. I love this salon, but will not come back with her still working there, and I will be sure to tell my friends to do the same! read more

Worst experience at a hair salon ever. They charged me $375 for a shitty haircut and blow dry. I had Alex as my hair dresser. I told him I wanted something like Lana del Rey yet he gave me Cher from 1980. When I called to get my money back they said no. My hair has been ruined for months now because of the dull blades he used to create the layers. He left holes in my hair that costed me hundreds to correct. Never coming here again. My Review will be over Ryan, who ruined my hair and subjected me to harassment. Firstly, I left with hair that was drastically different from what I asked for. I came in to a consultation before my appointment, to make sure Ryan understood what exactly I was asking for. I even made it easier for him by showing photos of hair he has done before on his Instagram, so I wasn't asking for something he has never done before. I also mentioned that I wanted a natural look, and I like my hair to still look natural when it grows out. Next, after the highlights were all placed in and my hair was washed, I took a photo while my hair was wet and noticed how close they were to my scalp and how blonde it was. I wanted my highlights to look grown-in, and I specifically asked him during the consultation and before he started my hair that I wanted to keep my natural roots. I went up to him and voiced my concern. He said he would use a "base-break", which I had never heard of before, and he said it would make my roots look natural. I wrongfully trusted him again. After an assistant added the base break, I felt my scalp itch and burn. Now my roots and hair are brassy orange. An embarrassing mistake for such an "experienced" hairstylist. Ryan kept asking me personal questions throughout the appointment, which I found a little strange. Every time I would ask a question about my hair, he seemed disinterested, and would ask me about "what kind of men I liked", "what is the max age I would date", "How do I feel about commitment" , "do I want kids" and "how tall are you?" He mentioned he had a 6'5" olive-toned friend who was older and single and into "tall, blonde, blue-eyed European girls". I was very polite and brushed it off, and I would try to change the subject and ask about what hair products he recommends. He kept bringing up the topic of his friend, and said "I should match you together", and " you should fly me in with a private jet for the wedding". Next, he started texting someone to come into the salon. Then when I saw the guy who matched the description Ryan gave to me, I started to get really uncomfortable. The guy (I do not know his name) sat right next to me, and started immediately hitting on me. He immediately knew all my info such as my age, he knew that I was a student and he asked me what my plans were, and if I could change my plans to come over to his place for a glass of wine. I declined and said I was busy and not interested in going to his place. However, Ryan mentioned all the details about me. I I didn't know Ryan would use this information against me. I would ignore Ryan's friends because I was really upset about the hair color, and when I told Ryan that I didn't like my brassy roots, he would just ignore me and tell his friend that we should hang out. I feel groomed by Ryan, because all the details I mentioned about my hobbies and interests, he used it as ammo to try to set his friends and I on a date. I didn't even feel heard about the concerns I was raising about my hair. Ryan kept changing the subject to his friend, while his friend was gawking at me saying how beautiful I looked and how I had a nice body. I just wanted to run out the saloon, but I was trapped since Ryan was half-paying attention trying to cut my hair and blow-dry. After Ryan was done with my hair, he never asked how I felt about the end result. I mentioned again that it was brassy, and he said he toned it. He even said, " I think it looks okay", which isn't something a hairstylist would say if they are proud of their work.  I went to the bathroom after he was done and started crying. I never felt so degraded and humiliated. I did speak to the manager, however, I had to escalate the issue to the owner. The owner completely dismissed my concerns over the harassment I was subjected to, and even refused to speak with me in regards to the matter. Therefore, I am posted this review to warn other customers about Ryan. read more

Trey Gillen is hands down the best hair stylist! He was trained in New York and has worked on clients around the world. I have been seeing him for several years for cut and color. When I first started seeing Trey, I had never colored my hair. Trey talked me into adding color, and I haven't stopped balayage since. The results were natural and brought out the color in my eyes. He is consistent, knowledgeable, passionate about his craft, up to date on all the best and new products, honest, genuine, and very personable. I always leave the salon feeling beautiful. The lady that washed my hair was great felt like she was massaging my head rather than washing it which was a plus for me. Kevin took his time to assess my hair to make sure I got what I wanted. I went to her with damaged over processed blonde hair that wouldn't grow and the damage continued to get worse. after several months of correct highlight application combined with correct products and tools I now have healthy growing hair that is still a very white blonde and I couldn't be happier!! I am not one to get online and write reviews. Occasionally I have been asked by someone of whom I've grown very fond and whose work I admire or whose service is outstanding, but I'm seldom compelled to do it on my own. Last Friday, however, was a different story. I have been going to Bella Rinova off and on over the past decade or so and have seen them move from their Uptown Park space to the beautiful ROD space in which they are now located. I used to go to James, whom I absolutely adore, but eventually had to stop going to him because of the cost--though I do think he is 110% worth it if you can afford it!! He's also incredibly lovely to boot. I discovered Hannah at Solaya in Highland Village over 3 years ago. When the salon closed, Hannah started at BR. Of course I followed her!!! I actually moved to Katy a little over 2 years ago and still go into Houston to see her. My mom (70 yo), my daughter (5 yo), and I (44 years young!!) all adore Hannah. She takes care of us all and is beloved by each of us. She is also incredibly talented and exceptional at what she does. Hannah takes the time to really listen to my concerns (the hair loss struggle is real, y'all!), goes to the ends of the earth to make my daughter feel comfortable in the chair (bang trims on a moving target are not easy), and works magic with my mom whose request for ashy gray platinum blondish highlights is rather tough to achieve. All of this while keeping us in stitches and just being a general joy to be around. She also somehow manages to remember every single detail I ever share with her about my life, which is truly incredible (how many clients does she have anyway?!?!). I now feel lucky in saying that Hannah is not only my stylist, but also my friend. Angie is so wonderful too! My daughter was in no mood to have her fringe trimmed last Friday, and Hannah had even agreed to cut her hair on the outdoor balcony (above and beyond doesn't begin to describe it). Angie asked Emmie if she would like to play with and style her hair and gave her carte blanche to do whatever she wanted to do while getting her own hair done. Emmie was so delighted and agreed without hesitation. Angie truly saved the day, and her sweet gesture towards Emmie will not soon be forgotten! I wish my words could express the gratitude I felt that day, but honestly I think the tears in my eyes may have said it all! Hahaha! The staff is so terrific here, and I always look forward to catching up with Matthew, who just makes FOH shine as far as I'm concerned. Visit Stylist / Master Colorist Mari Calvillo! ... Came in with an old grown out ombre and very damaged hair ends (from over precessing) and walked out with a totally different look and my hair felt healthy and smelled delicious. Needlless to say, my hair was on fleek! Yassss! hehe I sat on Maris' chair and basically told her to do whatever she thought was best for my hair texture and current hair color. Because lets face it, as clients we sometimes have very unrealistic expectations and hair dressers can only do so much. The result, a very pretty caramelized brown tones of higlights & lowlights with a hint of dirty blond ( toned my current blond) which I absolutely LOVED! The color was beautiful and went really nice with my tanned colot skin. Mari was so sweet and a total expert. The process took 3+ hours and never once did I feel rushed. I booked her for color/ highlights only and walked out with a blow dry and style (Blow drys start at $55), she even gave me some "hair repair" samples to take home. The salon it's self was very nice and upscale and the enviroment was very relaxing. The entire staff was nice and made sure I was comfortable. I will definitely go back and visit Mari. Maybe the hair salon service is good, but the facial spa service is definitely not worth the $. There is only 1 tiny room with no sound proof at all. Also the esthetician is very pushy and always wants to sell products and spa package. Also, she doesn't wear mask during the service, so her breath is straight on your face! She either talks during the entire facial session or wordless from beginning to the end. The product line is from France, but unfortunately it didn't impress me. The other thing I don't like is the facial uses iced water on my face, and that made me so chilly during entire facial even in summer time. Long story short, avoid the facial spa service and try other service there. read more

Most of the reviews here are for hair services but I wanted to leave one for Ziba, my manicurist. I've been going to Ziba for many years simply because she takes great care of my hands and feet. Now that I'm older, that's more important than ever. She transitioned me from acrylics to my natural nails and even though I swore that I'd never have strong nails Ziba proved me wrong. I can wear nail polish again and my splitting and brittle nails are a thing of the past. She does great pedicures too! I'm also pleased with the salon overall; nice atmosphere, friendly staff and convenient parking. Highly recommended. read more
