Longtime busy Italian spot with all the expected ample staples well-made and enjoyably tasted. Although faded decor, limited booth seating and the ebb and flow atmosphere are apparent, the food is very good with a strong pickup and delivery service. New fan here! Stopped in on a Wednesday night around 7pm and was able order immediately. While I waited for my food, a small line formed. The phone rung non stop so I'm thinking it's a favorite amongst many. I ordered a cheesesteak sub with everything and provolone cheese. I also ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. My friend ordered a fish sub. I'm less than 10 mins from the place so I ordered to go. A few tables needed to be wiped. The minute I took the sub out of the bag I knew it would be good. And it was! The steak is seasoned, the cheese spreads eventually all over the sub. The bread was toasted without me asking, I loved it! I ate the other half for breakfast the next day. The pizza was good but far from the best. I'd order it again by the slice. I don't think I'd enjoy a whole pizza The fish was absolutely delicious. I'm grabbing one for myself the next time. In our last order we expanded beyond the pizza to get a buffalo chicken wrap. It was tasty and had good ingredients in there - all that and it comes with a bag of chips! The pizza didn't disappoint and for a decent price the large pizza is huge enough for a few meals for us. Delivery was easy and showed up earlier than expected. My family has been a long term customer of Bella Roma's for at least 25 (+) years. I really am sad to right this review. After the COVID they're come back has not been a pleasant one. The prices increased, which was understandable, but the quality of the food has decreased dramatically. We've been trying to stick by them, as they were the only food delivery service in our area that was of quality. I've been slowly marking items off there menu because they are no longer of quantity and or quality. Tonight may be my last order, as my final favorites have now succumbed to the lack of quality. Back on my quest to find the best pizza & Italian cold cut in Baltimore lead me here. I must say the reviews were misleading cause I was greatly disappointed. First off it's a horrible parking situation took me a good 20 minutes to find parking. I think it was a sign for me to go elsewhere but sadly i didn't. When i say it's small & crowded to you really don't have a choice but to carry out cause you can't comfortably sit & dine in. The counter, tables, & standing room is all bunched together. But that wasn't the most disappointing part the pizza was fair not the best I've had but it was reasonably cheap so I accept that. But the worse part of this was the cold cut. It was poorly put together & meat in the middle instead of on the bread to prevent the bread from getting soggy & falling apart. This was one choice I wish I didn't follow through on but lesson learned this one is a hard pass for me Yelpers read more

I had been a long time customer, since they opened up on Falls Rd and even when they were on Keswick. Their delivery service was always first rate and their prices were excellent. Their food is great, best subs in Baltimore. They are the bar by which all others are measured especially the Italian cold cut and the cheesesteak. I've been to Johns ,Pastores, Mastellones , Jim's on South St and Dallasandros, the last two in Philly and they don't quite match up. I miss the food and whenever I find myself in Balto. Stopped here on my way into the city. Picked up two plain slices, which I ordered at the door. You can't enter the place b/c of Covid. They were VERY hot and plenty large. BUT... I did not like the sauce. It overwhelmed the pizza. It was all sauce. Couldn't even taste anything else. Not even sure what the deal was? Just too much. Too strong. A good friend of mine One of my neighbors always talked about how much he love the pizza from 'Bella Roma'. I would hear about it over the years from time to time but never bothered to ask where it was. I knew that whenever I went over to visit and if he was to order pizza, it was going to be from Bella Roma so I knew it was gonna be good. Yesterday, I was driving down Falls Road and there on the corner of Falls and 36th, I saw 'Bella Roma'. I thought about him, And decided to give them a try. I parked and walked up to the window (they are practicing safe social distancing so all walk up orders are through a window on the street). **Minor caveat** As a native NYer, I love a good 'slice'. Problem is, finding decent pizza in the area has been a struggle. I have a few fave spots... and 'Bella Roma' has just been added to that list. The way I test a pizza place is to order a plain cheese slice. No bells. No whistles. Just the basics. If they can make a regular cheese slice taste the way the pizza tasted when I was growing up (in NY), they get my approval. I walk up and was greeting by the friendliest guy at the window. Regretfully, we were both masked up bc of COVID but you could hear the pleasantness and the smile behind the mask. His 1st impression made me happy with my choice to try. I asked for 'two slices, plain'. That's it. The turn around was instantaneous. By the time I finished paying, they were ready. I got them in a to go pizza box and went about my way. Once home, the pizza looked delicious. I took a bite... and YESSSIIIRRRRRRR!!! That's the ticket!!! Next thing I know, the slice is gone. The next slice took a matter of minutes before complete annihilation. DELICIOUS!!! Today, I decided to go back for dinner for us. I settled on the following: 1) Cheesesteak w/ everything. The flavor was fantastic. The bread tasted fresh baked. It had a nice crust on it and a pillowy interior. The sandwich was surprisingly nowhere near as greasy as I'm used to receiving from a takeout cheesesteak. There wasn't much grease at all but, again, the flavor was fantastic. SCORE! 2) French fries. The order was massive and crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. NICE! 3) Vegetarian Pizza: w/ Red Onions, Green Peppers, Black & Green Olives, Mushrooms, & Fresh Tomatoes topped with Oregano & parmesan Cheese. This may have been one of the best veggie pizzas I've had in a long time. Not greasy at all. I really don't know how this delicious food isn't greasy. TRIPLE WORD SCORE! 4) Lastly, I grabbed two homemade rice puddings. Some may not realize this, but it's difficult to find a rice pudding that isn't too bland or too sweet. This was a perfect balance. Having just relocated to Baltimore from Seattle, WA pizza was one of the first basics my significant other and I went in search of. It's easy and you can't ever go too wrong. Bella Roma instantly became our favorite. They truly are consistent. We never get a so so pizza, it's always the how you expect it to be so you never regret your meal choice. We keep it simple and go with extra cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. I swear I could eat the whole thing! I always get scolded for sneaking more than my equal share. Pickup is quick and easy. My only peeve would be that coupons aren't honored unless you have them. I am terrible about remembering to bring them, but they're always the same. Great friendly customer service and consistent edible food is the only reason I am giving them 4 stars. They have delicious birch beer on tap, and I ordered their fries with cheese and gravy one time on a lark and was surprised at the size of the order. Nice comfortable pizza shop booths that remind me of when I was a kid in New York. The pizza however is of the american style as opposed to NY style, but I have had a few slices of it time to time and it is not offensive. The husband and I decided to order from here (through GrubHub) after a hard "workout" day. This review should have been much, much higher than 3 stars, and if I were to base it on the food quality itself, it would have been an easy 4. The problem that I encountered was that I simply didn't receive what I ordered. I had ordered a cheeseburger sub with ketchup, mustard, pickles and mushrooms. That's it. Nothing else. What I actually RECEIVED was a cheesesteak sub with lettuce, mayo, pickles and mushrooms. Which was actually kind of tasty - but it's not what I had wanted nor ordered. What's the point of picking out the things you want when they're just going to send you whatever they damn well feel like sending? I don't know if it was a mistake or what, but my husband's order was correct. Either way, SOMEONE got it wrong. I contemplated calling GrubHub to complain, but after numerous bad experiences with a different delivery service after consistent screwups, I just decided to, uh, "eat" this one and let it go. But, seriously - this is not a way to win over first-time customers. If you can't even manage to make and send the proper item, what is the point of trying your establishment again? There are over 20 pizza joints just like yours (some of which are honestly closer and serve better fare), and I"m sure that one of them could at least manage to not screw up an order. (08/24/2012) Got a delivery to a bar nearby Bella Roma's (how awesome is that). The pizza is NY-style, crust is flat, thin, and chewy, there are lift issues; it's a folder. Toppings were plentiful; cheese was stringy and opaque with milk solids; peppers and mushrooms were fresh. The sauce was mildly spiced, but thankfully not sweet. Buffalo Wings were small, battered/breaded (like on a Chinese Pu Pu platter) and overfried (almost burnt); hot sauce came on the side, as did 2 packets of Ken's dressings (not quite what I expected) and wouldn't order again. Food was delivered within the promised timeframe (35 minutes of a 45 minute estimate). It's somewhat pricey for a pizza place, but quality seems to be worth it. This fast pizza shop isn't a classy sit down establishment, but as long as that's what you're looking for, it earns its stars. It smells like heaven inside. Pizza is delicious and cheesy, and cut into large slices. Mozzarella sticks are completely filled with cheese (obviously pre-made and frozen, but no less good). That being said I went in around June 2020 and the guy making subs had his mask around his chin the whole time breathing all over everything. Nevremind there was a ton of employees all packed together and it was dinner rush. I called after and asked if this guy made my food and told the manager about the mask. I work in the Hampden neighborhood & this is my favorite pickup lunch spot. They serve the best Greek salad w/ chicken! It's around $13 with the added chicken, but worth it because the chicken is cooked perfectly & it's enough for 2 portions. The staff is always friendly when I call and my order is ready within 10 minutes. I recommend Bella Roma to our visiting corporate guests as a great stop for a quick, local lunch. read more
