Haven't yet actually been there, but did have their pizza delivered... so far it's about as good as we've found here - New York-y in the sense that the crust needs to be gnawed on a bit (do they ship in NY water to make the dough?). We were pretty impressed... also just glad they don't get their mushrooms out of a can. At least at the moment they do not delivery N of Northern Parkway, fyi. 2016 update: I just updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars as I have been ordering there as our "go-to" pizza place for years now. On top of the fact that the employees are rude they're racists too. We order from Bella Roma at my job ALL the time. We pay with a credit card by phone ALL the time but surprise the one time I call- the 1 black person in the office they advise they don't take credit cards by phone. Oh really? I'm in Medfield and this is my go-to pizza delivery place. Compared to the others I've tried around here, Bella Roma has the freshest veggies, good proportion of topping to cheese, delicious garlicky sauce, and a crust with the right amount of chewiness, and most importantly -- NOT GREASY. I've been ordering from them for about six years and the service and quality has been consistently great. I don't feel nearly as guilty gorging myself on their pizza as I do with, say, Papa Johns' pile of grease sog, so at least I can pretend I'm eating something fairly clean. I've only ever had the pizza, so I can't say whether the sides or sandwiches are good, and I'm not comparing them to some of the super awesome pizza places in the area (like Joe Squared) because those other places don't deliver to me so it's beside the point. Note that you can pay by credit card for delivery but you'll need cash to tip the driver, because they don't allow tips on the card for whatever reason. Their delivery times can be a little longer than they might say when it's really busy, but I've never experienced anything egregious. Love this place. Second favorite in Hampden as far as sub shop pizza delivery places go. They have good french fries with cheese and gravy and the pizza is more than standard. It's very delicious. Consistency is definitely here as this place hasn't changed in 20+ year's and still doesn't disappoint except I wish they had longer hour's as we are a late night family and that leaves us few options. I haven't had the chicken parm since I been back and it's next on my list here. I'm sure since consistency is the key with them it won't disappoint!! Many times over the years I've visited this location and only once was able to find parking though without parking more than 3 blocks away. Highly recommended. This place is terrible the owner is rude and doesn't know to conduct business properly. I walk all the way up to the place for him to tell me that I had to call when he was standing right in front of store and he was next to register thats just total crazy. Then he goes on and say we wearing maskes and he wouldn't understand what I'm saying to take my order but he just had a whole conversation for me and he heard everything. Really great food! We stopped in here on a whim while searching for a bookstore that was nearby, and we almost walked past as we don't usually go to restaurants in the city--however, I'm very glad we did! It is very small, so some might be off out by that, but to be fair it is in the middle of the city. I and my aunt got a cheesesteak and a crab platter, respectively, and we were both very satisfied. The cheesesteak had the perfect amount of cheese and was cooked very well, and the crab cake had nice big chunks of meat. Delivery service is going to be an hour or more. A few booths to sit in if you go to eat there. Best bet is to pick up and take home. it's one of the better pizza & sub shops to go to in the area. The pizza is usually well made with a good amount of cheese. The subs are typically done well. Not cheap though. $30 for three subs and two fries. Would give 4 stars but you can't get a hooker in Hampden with the pizza the way you used to. Actually, it's the delivery service that caused it. read more

Their food is really pretty good. They use ingredients which easily surpass the quality found at some of the other local pizza places on their pizzas and subs. The chicken on the chicken parm is crispy, where other places seem to use micky d's quality. Their pizza isn't too greasy and the sauce is really delicious. Despite enjoying the food, I can only give them three stars because of their ridiculous hours! They apparently open at 5pm, obviously missing out on lunch business. I can't find their hours listed anywhere on the website either. With so much competition in town for independent pizza spots, it just comes off as lazy to be open for so few hours daily. Uhmmm it was ok. Stopped for the lunch special which is pretty reasonable and the pizza was average. Sauce had a nice little bite to it, a little spicy but nothing overwhelming, decently cheesy mostly mozzarella blend making it chewy which is a pro for me. Im a crust guy and wasn't feeling the crust at all. It was dry and kinda brittle. Most of the time i'd go back to order a pie to compare the consistency when its fresh but not this time, I don't think i'll go out of my way to come back. I actually liked this place; it's been there as long as I can remember, and I went there a lot as a kid, and even now when I visit Baltimore, which isn't as often as I would like:( The fries here are good, but definitely greasy. The best thing here is their pizza, or pizza fries. In case you haven't had it, pizza fries are basically an order of fries with melted cheese and sauce on top; it sounds weird, but somehow it works. I got a gyro here the other week. I didn't particularly like it. I thought they used way too much of the sauce; I could barely eat it without it dripping all over me! Have been getting pizza and steak subs here for year. Always solid food, prices have gone up a little over the years, but the quality is good. Pizza has a good thin crust. I drive to get the food most times (from Charles Village) since delivery can be spotty. Tip them well if they do a good job. read more

What was once my favorite pizza joint in Hampden, has become Hampdens worst. No doubt they make the best tasting pizza in Hampden, but be sure to pick it up. The delivery is AWFUL. My pizza took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive on a Thursday night when they told me it would only be 45 minutes. And when it arrived, it was barely even warm. I live less than 3 blocks away. The pizza was turning hard and chewy. It was an expensive white pizza, that was just a total dud. If you plan to get a pizza from Bella Roma, be sure to pick it up. The experience will be much better. It looks like if I want delivery pizza, I have to go back to Arlons. It is good pizza. Not as good as Bella. But it always arrives quickly and HOT! read more

Awesome little pizza joint. Usually pretty crowded which tells you people like the food! We are from out of town, and always eat here since it's so convenient to the shops. Plus, it's easier (and free) to park down the small road around the corner from them. We usually always just get pizza and fries, but I just recently tried a crab cake from there the other day. Really good lump crab meat, and the cake was HUGE. I will definitely be ordering it again! read more

I like this place because it's clean, it's convenient, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. I've yet to try their pizza, I've heard great things, but I've only had the cheese steak sub. Great cheap pizza! New York style slices; around $12 for a medium 1 topping. Best local affordable pizza in Hampden. Wings are good (used to be better but recently changed to a bigger sized wing). Decent, pretty good NY style round pies. Definitely not bursting with flavor as the sauce, crust and cheese play very similarly to most of the standard Baltimore fare of Bland NY style pizzas.
