I've been on a gelato kick lately and have driven by Bella's many times but I finally stopped in recently. The inside and outside are painted a fun bright blue and the walls are covered with photos of what I'm assuming is the owners' dog, Bella. They even sell plenty of dog treats for your pet. It was pretty busy when I went which felt like a good sign. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and made us feel welcome, encouraging us to sample different flavors. I ended up choosing half rocky road gelato and half banana. I really liked the rocky road and the banana was pretty good too. I also ordered a Wildcat brownie, which was really cool. It had the U of A Wildcat logo dusted on top with powdered sugar. Overall, it's a fun spot near campus and definitely worth checking out. read more

I haven't been to Italy, but I have had gelato in a few different parts of the US. This place is a gem for Tucson food scene. The place has a lot of charm, well laid out, and looks clean. What a great place! Ice cream places in the desert seem to be getting more and more expensive, so if you're going to pay for one, it definitely should be Bella's. The staff are so kind and you can feel how much joy it brings them to serve people their delicious gelato! Vintage dessert shop vibes with plenty of outdoor seating. A warning, however, that this is real gelato. Still incredible, but not as sweet and sugary as some of the typical ice cream you might expect. Great customer service here from owner Elizabeth, who is so creative and does an excellent job of crafting fun flavors that taste familiar but are also unique. I've lived in the area for a while and never stopped in. I'm glad I did! I ended up taking a pint of 1/2 kahlua tiramisu and 1/2 apple pie! Absolutely Devine. Some reviewers have talked about the texture and I will say I thought it was perfect. It was smooth and creamy but also had that bite I expect from gelato. This place is amazing!! Lots of choices with some being kosher, vegan and dairy free. It is nice and cool in there, good music playing and the employee was soooo sweet. She even offered us some ice water which was perfect because it was hot and humid outside. The flavors we choose were delicious and you get to try three flavors for free. While they don't have a large selection of flavors, they do have quite a few that are gluten-free. If gelato isn't your thing, they also have biscotti, nuts, and other treats. Have a pup or kitty? They have treats for them too! On the night we stopped in, we were greeted by two friendly staff members. I selected a small cup with chocolate and pistachio. After having ice cream across the way, we saw this place and decided to check it out! Since we were on vacation, travelling through Tucson, why not indulge in double the frozen treats?!?! I'm so glad we did! We were greeted and helped by the owner. She was very sweet, welcoming, and told us about her store. This company, which had its beginnings as an ice cream truck, is named after their beloved pup Bella. Sadly, Bella passed away in 2019, but there are pictures of her in the store as well on the logo. We sampled a few ice cream flavors and decided on Orange Walnut Cranberry, Eggnog, & Pumpkin Caramel Gingersnap Gelato. We were grateful for the ability to add the third flavor! Each flavor was so good! They make excellent Gelato! Besides Gelato & Sorbettos, they sell Fudge, Nuts, Brownies, and Cookies. The owner gave us each a Gingersnap Cookie with our purchase. ALL the flavors we tried were absolutely delicious!! they even give out free stickers. my favorite was the prickley pear, my cousin's wife liked the toasted pistachio where my cousin liked the orange. they have SO many flavors that you're bound to like at least one. the smallest size you can get up to 2 flavors, medium & large you can get up to 3. i say that the smallest size was the perfect amount for a post meal treat! the small is $5.75 and the medium is $7.50 which is a bit steep, but honestly the quality is there and the staff were amazing so i believe it's well deserved! they even have outdoor seating so you can bring your pup! highly recommend! read more

To start, the workers were very friendly, the prices were not bad, and you get a discount if you go to the U of A! We sat outside, and were happy that there were tables out there. The gelato was a little gritty and some flavors were meltier than others, but still tasted pretty good overall! I very much liked my gelato -- the combination is basically a frozen luxe Andes mint -- but the mango was actually my favorite of the day! It was pure tropical goodness. The gelato was okay nothing really special in my opinion, I got a coffee flavor with pistachio chocolate and I couldn't really taste the coffee beside the espresso beans that was in there ice cream. But the main reason I went was for the viral Dubi chocolate. I got a medium and it had the tiniest filling ever in it lol. No pistachio taste in it at all.
