Lany did an amazing job on my hair! I came in for a full balayage service - usually I've had hair dressers who basically make me blond (I'm a natural brunette) when I ask for a sun-kissed look. Lany listened to all of my concerns and literally gave me exactly what I asked for. She was also so friendly and so easy to talk to! When she washed my hair, it was the most relaxing, gentle hair washing experience I've ever had. The massage felt great as well. All in all, I know after a long search to find a new hair stylist since mine left, Lany is my new go-to gal! The salon is also super cute and very clean. She has been doing cuts and blonde highlights for me and she does a phenomenal job always. I went to Bella Salon after trying several other places. I asked for a Senior Stylist who is great with highlighting blond hair and was put with Adrienne. She did an amazing job on the cut and color, especially the color. I absolutely love the color and I can say after about four weeks it is growing out nicely too. I'll definitely be returning to see Adrienne. I went back on another occasion to use their nail services and had a decent experience with Mie. Unfortunately one of my gel nails was not sealed properly and started to peel the next day. I called Bella letting them know and they set me up with a nail touch-up appointment. Mie apologized for the mishap, but did not fix it properly. The nail looked different from the others, which I pointed out and she just said sorry, and in less than a week it peeled off. Kelsey and Rose no longer work here. They are the reason I gave this place high praise. They charged me more for wedding services than what I was quoted. They charged me $140 for a manicure and pedicure. The polish was built up around the sides, the diamond accent fell off the next day, and it was not buffed correctly. It was NOT worth the price. This place is overpriced and quality has gone way downhill, it makes me sad. The front desk guy is no longer there and they are an unorganized mess. It's sad. read more

They were extremely accommodating as I had to change my schedule around a few times. My makeup looked absolutely perfect - Jessica Timko, and my hair also looked perfect - Sam (short blonde hair). This is my first review because I can't just not say something about my awesome experience here. First, I had a terrible stylist at milk and honey who when told "I want my hair blonder" responded with "well you're already blonde". I called Bella on a Friday morning at 9 asking if there was any way they could make room for me that morning as I was trying on wedding dresses that afternoon and wanted my hair to be the color I imagine it for my wedding. Not only did they call someone in earlier than scheduled to accommodate for me, but the stylist they called was the most knowledgeable and brilliant color stylist for blonde hair that I've ever had--- and I've been dying my hair blonde since I was 13!!! Kelsey is her name, she's awesome, I can't wait to go back. She bayalaged my ends blonder which was something I hadn't thought of, broke my base color which looks awesome, and added blonder highlights and a warmer toner to make it shine. Do NOT go here. This is my second ever time to post on Yelp, but I had such a bad experience that I believe it is my duty to warn others. I went to bella salon after reading reviews on Yelp, but I have never received such a bad haircut in my entire life. That may sound dramatic, as everybody has bad haircuts, but never before have I put my hair in a bun to hide my haircut within 5 minutes of leaving the salon. Dow did not listen to anything that I said I wanted and did not follow through on anything that he said he would do. Despite telling me that he would give my hair soft layers and not cut more than necessary, he cut off around five inches of my hair and gave me the female equivalent of a "bowl cut" [my thick hair has been cut straight across the whole way around my head]. He started off cutting off about an inch, but evidently messed up and continued to "fix" it...resulting in the disaster I now wear upon my head. At first I thought that it was simply styled a different way that I would have at home, but I have washed and dried it, trying to restore any of my hair's former bounce, to no avail. I have two interviews next week [why I went in to "trim" my hair], and am too ashamed of my hair to wear it in anything but a bun. read more

Went to this salon and requested natural looking highlights. Left with bleach blonde, unblended streaks on my dark brown hair. By the time I got home I was in tears. I called the salon and went back the next day to get an all over color. I was so disgusted with my hair, I didn't trust her to do lowlights to try to fix it. The next day she said she wasn't sure I would like it when I left the previous day and that she had a pretty heavy hand. The all over color I asked her to do to try to fix it turned in to a reverse ombre, where my roots were lighter than the ends. My stylist, Raquel, was very nice, but after being in the salon for over 5 hours, still not getting what I asked for and having to pay for the highlights I didn't receive motivated me to write this review. I appreciate the effort to try to fix the problem, but the highlights were junior at best and not worth the $235 I paid. read more

My old stylist left his salon so I needed to find someone new. I decided to give Ginnie at Bella a try, and I'm so glad that I did! I normally have long blonde hair but had recently gone red. The red faded pretty quickly, and it did not look good at all. Ginnie was able to blend all of the different colors in my hair into a beautiful warm blonde with some low lights. She is absolutely an expert at her craft and a stylist you can trust to do a great job. I love how she explains everything that she will do to your hair and recommends products to help maintain the color and health of your hair. Lindsey has been cutting my hair for a year now. And she has not been given an easy task. My hair isn't like normal hair. It's super thick and if not cut properly it will stick straight up or straight out on the sides. It's ridiculous. However Lindsey has managed to tame my hair. My hair is extremely long so I was very hesitant about cutting it. Morgan was very helpful and took what I said very literal. After frequenting another upscale salon and ending my hair relationship with a salon and stylist that shall both go unnamed (okay, I'll give you one - Avant Salon), I stumbled across Bella Salon, but more importantly, I found Griffin! Griffin is the best, hands down! He is my hair soulmate, I swear. During your consultation, Griffin will listen to your needs and concerns, ask questions about your lifestyle and make suggestions on what would work best for you. The end result will be an awesome and stylish cut. I went in with a boring bob, and now I'm rocking the cutest Katie Holmes/Rihanna-esque cut! I literally receive compliments on my hair at HEB of all places, as well as anywhere and everywhere I go. Griffin is also a color specialist, and although I have yet to try color, I am going to give in in the very near future and let him work his magic! The only downside to Bella is the awful music they play. I guess it's cool, if you are over forty. If you choose Bella, choose Griffin! You will not be disappointed, and if you are, you are probably a boring person anyway who should go back to Mastercuts or whatever boring salon you came from. read more

decided to go here based on yelp reviews. Sunday of memorial day weekend, and my friend REALLY wanted her hair done IMMEDIATELY. Called three other places first and these guys were the first open with an appt available. First off I straight-up told our stylist, Brandy, that all I had to spend was $200, and that needed to included tip and everything. I was worried it wouldnt be enough, as I knew the color would take more than a simple one process. Brandy didnt batt an eye. My friend's hair was colored and rinsed three times, I believe. super light length to a chocolate brown, darker roots changed a shade to match, AND a plummy purple color added in peeking out around bangs. That AND the cut for $200? A damn good deal as far as what I've always heard about salon prices. Never been to any other salon but I know I could expect to pay at least $300 for the same service elsewhere. And the relief of knowing I dont have to spend the time, money, and loads of effort to try to do the hair myself and STILL not get the color I wanted? Hell yeah, for sure worth the expense. Going in we told Brandy my friend wasnt exactly sure what she wanted. Possibly bright red, possibly purple, possibly something really close to her natural color, highlights, didnt know for sure. What we WERE sure on was we wanted a edgy, modern cut. Lots of angles, texture, NOT a soccer mom haircut. We even used those exact words. Showed her a reference pic we really liked of a cut with some full blunt bangs, shorter back side, longer in front around the face. The front angled downwards with a wispy thing goin on. Honestly we didnt realize we pretty much wanted that EXACT cut, just said something really similar based on it. Should have probably told her "do exactly that, even a bit more angled downwards in front possibly". Got the cut and thought we really liked it. Huge improvement over what we started with. Got home and the more we looked at the cut the more we realized we didnt really get at all what we'd asked for. Overall length was at least 3 inches too long, not much of a downward angle goin on if any, and damn it, it really did even give off a soccer mom vibe! But we were SURE Brandy could give us the cut we wanted, we'd just should have said give us THIS, you know? So she was really cool-- let us come in the very next day and basically did a complete re-cut for us. We felt SO bad because we literally had NO money to tip her (we'll make it up to her later, I swear!), but she was super awesome, just wamted us to be happy. @nd cut friend asked a few times to have the front side areas thinned out to be wispier, more like the reference pic. Probably shouldnt have had to ask for repeated thinning out, but maybe Brandy didnt want to take too much away straight-off. Didnt think my friend wanted as dramatic of a cut, I imagine, as most people SAY they do I guess but dont really mean QUITE so dramatic/short/etc. And friend distinctly asked for there to be more of an angle goin on-- shorter in back, longer towards front, not something of a subtle angle. Asked at LEAST three times, and Brandy would cut some more off each time. What we ended up with? I GREAT cut-- hair that has movement, looks great from all angles, had a piecey textured look, shine. Kick-ass hair. But NOT with the more dramatic angle we'd wanted. I dont think my friend would go back to the same stylist, sorry Brandy, even though you WERE awesome. Just couldnt get what she asked for specifically. Me personally? I have hair down to my waist I get SUPER nervous about letting a stylist near. I'd go to Brandy, I WILL when I eventually go shorter. I know the cut I'd want, a forward diagonal long bob, DRAMATIC angling downward. I'll be very clear with what I want and I'm confident I'll get what I want without her going all crazy and taking too much off, which is what always makes me nervous about getting my hair cut. And I'm planning a trip back in the next few weeks to see her for color. She specialized in being a colorist, I'm confident she could give me great color. She got a GREAT tone for my friend's hair. Friend hated her natural color but wanted something close and got just that and loves it. So I'm super excited. I'll report back :) read more

Brittany is my girl. I was recommended to her by a friend when I wanted to try something different with my hair- something that a colorist at another salon refused to do. Brittany was so nice and went really really far out of her way to make sure she was giving me what I wanted. I asked her to dye my hair to match my roots and she painstakingly went through every hair, picking out the ones that needed to be lightened to match the root growing in. She ended up spending about 5 hours with me and had to move an appointment following mine. She never tries to push products and really really wants to get it right and make me happy. I love Brittany and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to take a risk or make a change to their hair. The best part was that, despite the downtown location, the price didn't break the bank so I was able to leave her the fat tip she deserved! read more
