Before going to Austin
Debbie S.

I wasn't going to leave a review because I thought steps were being taken to address a terrible color job. However, had I known then what I know now, I would have stayed with the request for my money back and not listened to doing a color correction. The stylist did not do what was asked, keep the same blonde color, needed the roots done. It was a terrible, dull, brownish, gray color!! That supposedly after a few washes would be okay. WTH?!? For the money spent, I wasn't happy with the outcome. Thought about it, and didn't want anyone else to experience the same process. Therefore, I reached out the management team. Management scheduled a consultation to check out what the issue was and agreed the color wasn't what I showed the stylist... it was recommended that color correction be done. I had never heard of that service and questioned the process being that my hair had just went through a coloring process and it would go through another within a couple days; I was concerned of damage to my hair. I was assured everything would be okay and I would love the results... I regret ever trusting the management and wished I had never gone into the salon. My hair has been damaged, daily breakage, and it's costing me hundreds of dollars on conditioning treatments! I don't live in Austin, I was visiting family.

What I asked for

The colorist was great but then was the stylist was so far off the mark. Cut was so fast. No products used no flat iron. The total bill was $410. Included tip for both the colorist and the stylist. Jayce I believe was his name.

Madison cut my hair in a shag, and I'm so very happy! Having worn a shag back in the day (1972...) I know this is the REAL DEAL, and I will go to no one else from now on.

Before and after...like I said Haley is an artist and a magician with a pair of scissors

Austinites you are in luck because New York's finest hair artist has moved to Texas. Haley does absolute magic with a pair of scissors. She listens to her clients and gets to know them personally to give them hair that matches their personality and fits their lifestyle. If you want a maintenance cut Haley will make your signature look the best it's ever been. Or if you are feeling like a big transformation you can trust Haley with your big change so you still feel like yourself but the best new and improved version possible. Trust me because I followed her to whatever salon she was at in NYC and when she moved to Austin I came here to see her too. The Keith Kristofer salon is also welcoming, comfortable and inclusive.

Ask the Community - Keith Kristofer Salon

I am an African American w/ bad salon experiences over the years. I notice this salon has a curly section on the website but I don't see any reviews from ethnic women on how their curls were styled or how the Goldwell Kerasilk treatment went. Help?

We would recommend you coming in for a complimentary consultation with one of our stylists. There are 2 types of Keratin treatments we offer. You are also more then welcome to check out our Instagram for photos of cuts/color on ethnic women/men!

What sets Kali apart is that she continuously educates herself on the latest equipment, procedures, and skincare innovations. She vigorously researches anything she sells or puts on your face, which gives me complete confidence in her recommendations. A few treatments that have transformed my skin: Fibroblast, microneedling, peels, dermaplaning, and now Sofwave. Fibroblast virtually erased my lip lines and crow's feet, improved skin texture, minimized large pores, and tightened areas of laxity. The results have been remarkable. Kali's facials are exceptional because they're customized. She analyzes your skin, listens to your goals, and tailors treatments to achieve the best results. You're never rushed. If you book a facial and your skin needs something different that day, she'll discuss your options and help you achieve the results you're looking for. For microblading and lash lifts/tints, anyone at Love + Roots is fantastic. The entire team is talented, professional, and focused on delivering beautiful, natural-looking results. Kali and Jessica have built something special. They are kind, passionate, knowledgeable professionals who genuinely care about their clients. I could go on and on, but I'll simply say this: go see them. You'll thank me later. And don't skip the retail boutique--I've found countless gifts there for friends and, of course, myself!

While she's no longer at the Airport location, Windy has moved to a homey studio space inside Sola Salon on Burnet. Teaming up with a second hairstylist, Windy and her partner continue to offer their specialized Korean services, but in a more intimate setting. It feels like you've stepped into her home rather than a typical salon. There aren't any flashy decorations here--just a curtain for privacy when clients are in session, along with some faded pictures and personal fans scattered around. I came in after reading several reviews about her expertise in cutting Asian hair at an affordable price. I went in with my standard request: long layers and curtain bangs. Going into a hair salon, I always have an inspo pic in hand, but I know not to expect an exact match. Although there's a bit of a language barrier (I'm not sure if Windy speaks fluent English), I trusted her with the process, and she delivered. I wasn't sure how I felt about the shorter length, but after a few days, I'm pretty content with the outcome. Pro tip: I would recommend paying in cash for a discount, but even with a card, my total came to be $55, excluding tip.
