Seafood Grinder
Jordan J.

My mom and I moved away from Michigan in 2010. We've been in Arizona ever since. This was one of our favorite restaurants growing up. Just wanted to leave a review of my experience. We walked in around 9:00pm.. the guy Jackson walked to the register and greeted us as soon as we got to the counter and looked down at the menu. We let him know we hadn't been here in a while, and that we would need a few moments to decide what we wanted. Once we were ready, he took our order with ease, asked if we wanted to add anything else which we did... We got a side of fries and she got a diet Coke, in addition to our sandwiches. I got the chicken, bacon ranch and my mother got the seafood grinder... We both got the 9 inch and we both finished our sandwiches and most of the fries; It was delicious. We decided to dine in so we could eat our sandwiches hot and fresh. We waited about 10ish minutes and a nice young lady Mary delivered our food to the table. The restaurant was calm and we watched about 11 different groups or individuals come in and either get an order for pick up or order carry out during the 40ish minutes we were here. Thank you so much. Plot twist: the lady who delivered our food was the manager. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. Always a pleasure stopping here when we are in town!

Bell never misses! I didn't know they had one in this area. The creamery was not open but it's still a great place for food. The service was nice and restaurant looked good just empty

This place must do A LOT of carry out based on waiting about 40 minutes for one pizza. The establishment was almost empty when we arrived. Aside from the long wait, the pizza itself was actually pretty good. Not crazy about the price paid for 1 pizza... but again, the pizza was pretty good.

Bellacino's is one of those chains that doesn't get alot of love from the general public. This place is famous for their toasted subs. While they aren't the first sandwich shop to do it, I feel like they got the formula down right. Like the name suggests they do make pizzas too, but the baked grinder subs is what you really want. Not everything on the menu is a home run by any means, but if you know what to order you will never be disappointed. I feel like many of the negative reviews you read are from people who had unrealistic expectations about the food or service they would get. It's got a charm to it that you don't really understand unless you grew up eating from here. Nothing beats a good old steak and cheese

2/3 of the Taco Salad! Missing tortilla chips.

Have enjoyed this place for many years! Today! I decided to order a taco salad at a grinder place. The first salad ever from Bellacino's. This taco salad arrives and I'm thinking it will be your taco in a shell. No, it's piled high on a large oval plate. Like wow! I finished about half of it and took the other home. The salad was so overwhelming and I thought it was just alright. The beef, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa were fresh. The flavor of the taco meat was a little lacking, the salad was missing the essential ingredient: tortilla chips! Yes there were some chips from what seemed like the bottom of the bag. Maybe it was all they had so throw them on the plate, lol. The place is an icon in Dearborn. The salad needs a little adjustment and it could be much better.

Yuck, ordered a pizza called the Pride... I can't imagine anyone being proud of this taste. It was scarce on the sauce. It was unsightly and did not look appealing visually. The meat was far and few between. The veggies were overpowering. It was like an olive, green Pepper, onion, pizza that was gummy and doughy very dry with no sauce to be seen! I don't recommend this to anyone. Save your money, who is in the kitchen? my five year old can do better.

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. There are 2 types of subs here: Italian, and "Other Subs", so you know that this shop sprang from the vibrant Italian community that once populated Detroit. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). These layered Gonella Italian Subs are layered with a variety of Italian meats (Hard Salami, Salami Cotto, Mortadella, Smoked Ham and Capicola), provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Gonella's homemade dressing. Soft or hard roll. Extras: Peppers (+.50) Cheese (+.50) - (Turkey is reserved for the "Other Subs). 6 Layers Meat, 1 Layer Cheese --- $8 8 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $9 12 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $12 14 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $13 18 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $14 The subs are heavy and delicious. Soft sub buns, tons of stacks of meat, lettuce and tomato or not. No one goes hungry after a sub here. Some deli spots tend to skimp on the protein, but not this place. My team members favorite is the Italian, 6 stacks. I usually will go for a turkey or chicken stack. They offer up to 18 stacks, haven't tried that yet.

Service was prompt and friendly. It's tight inside, this is not the place to come with a big group- but a few friends or your family? Absolutely! Perfect. 4 stars because I just feel like the Reuben could have used a bit more flavor somehow. It was a little dry today. The bread was good, the meat was lean and thinly sliced, but I think we needed more punch from the sauerkraut and dressing. Still, will come back many times for years to come! Their sandwiches are crazy-expensive, especially for the quality of the turkey. It was the slimy, smooth kind, not the more dry, you-can-see-the-grain-and-taste-the-quality kind. I got turkey and cheddar and it was $15, plus adding a drink and chips was $3 more. Hubband got the turkey and ham sandwich and said the ham was excellent but had the same gripe about the low quality turkey as me. Are they big, yes? Would I rather have less meat but it be much higher quality for the same price? Also yes. Decor hasn't changed in the almost 15 years since I visited. It's clean enough but still incredibly over-crowded with too many tables and chairs. Service was friendly. Honestly, this is just so underwhelming that I'm incredibly surprised that people are excited to drop $15 on a mediocre sandwich. I'm missing something (it must be nostalgia because I didn't grow up here.)

Been wanting to try this place out for a while…read more Overheard this place will be closed for 4 weeks or so starting next week. Grabbed some lunch for my team: Chicken bacon ranch no lettuce or tomato, a large Lebanese salad (no pita), Turkey Reuben sandwich, Chicken melt, Bronx and a can of Mountain Dew and one can of Coke. Oh my. Their Chicken melt menu that someone posted on here changed from what someone else had posted a while back. Their current chicken melt is essentially a chicken Philly. It wasn't what my team member wanted, had to give it to someone else, since it had mushrooms in it. The Lebanese salad was good, the large is a good size. Loaded with tomatoes and cukes. Ended up with bits of pita at the bottom of my salad, had to pick them out. :/ The chicken bacon ranch was nicely packed with meat in a sub bun. The Bronx was good as well. The turkey Rueben was okay. Light on the kraut and sauce. The turkey meat was deli slices though. The bread was maybe separately toasted. It was pan or cook top cooked. The rye was a bit too hard as I tried to get a bite in. I ended up having to gut it and eat the inside goods separately. Oven roasted turkey would have been fantastic, more kraut or add slaw too. Salad was good and fresh. The sandwiches look picture worthy.
