I had a few loved ones host their wedding at other Trademark venues like Green Gable and really loved the vibe. They do self tours in the mornings on the weekend so it was nice to just wander and check out the space. It's so spacious and you can really do a lot with the space. A note is that because it was such a big venue, it can be hard to gather people so definitely plan around that. We really wanted a venue that had a lot of nature in it and Botanica had that! I wanted an outdoor, romantic atmosphere and it was just perfect! It was such a beautiful location and fun canvas to play with. Trademark also has a catalogue with pieces you could choose to use. We liked that there were pieces to choose from that were included in our package. That helped us a lot with decor. There were other pieces at a cost as well. Trademark will also host menu tasting nights to help choose your hor dourves and mains. We were able to meet Eli, our head caterer there, and he was at the wedding day of. The food tasting was a great experience and he was so, so helpful in answering all of our questions as well. Each Trademark venue comes with a wedding coordinator! They will meet you with you a handful to times to make sure the day of goes smoothly. We had Mikaela and she was the absolute BEST wedding coordinator that we could ask for. From the beginning, she gave us great guidance and information. Any question we had, she had answers! The worksheets that Mikaela had given us were also very helpful! Planning out the schedule so that we were all on the same page was super helpful. She is very detail oriented and gave us all advice that we never even knew we needed. Mikaela stands on business! Dress rehearsal was so perfect in getting last details together. On the day of, she made sure that we did all the things we planned for, even with the unforeseen delays. Her behind the scenes work made everything run so smooth! Our family and friends absolutely loved her. Also shout out to Aiat who specifically supported me and the wedding party. We felt so cared for! Thank you for always offering to get us water, checking in if we needed anything, etc. We also got great feedback from our loved ones that they loved the bartenders; they were very friendly and got drinks out in a timely manner. Honestly, such a beautiful venue and the staff was sooooo great. They made our day so special! Everything looked absolutely beautiful. You're driving through farm land and an area of home development, but once you enter the driveway of Botanica, you'll come to a beautiful lush oasis with lots of trees and greenery, and a little pond. It gave me Hawaii vibes. The ceremony takes place in the front area, cocktail hour/restrooms are in the middle area, and the dinner reception took place in a tent in the back. The service here of everyone I encountered was very good. The dinner was pretty good, and was served family style. One of our dishes was a smoked salmon & shrimp farfalle pasta - but there was only 2 pieces of shrimp in the whole bowl. While the bartenders were very nice, the cocktails were ok. One major thing they need to improve on is their ceremony set up. If this place is catering to weddings, you have to make sure people can actually see the wedding. The wedding party was situated lower down by the water, think of it like the couple having their ceremony in the orchestra pit. Because of this, anyone sitting past the 3rd row wouldn't be able to watch the ceremony. I was in the 7th row and all I could see were the backs of people's heads. We attended a wedding this past weekend and it was a pretty easy drive to get there. The parking appears a bit tricky, but there are two entrances if you miss the first one haha. The second entrance is located right before the freeway entrance so it's conveniently located to nearby highways. The walkway from the parking lot leads you up some stairs and an incline slope that opens up to the green space where the ceremony was held. The grass is turf so if you wear heels, you shouldn't sink directly into it haha. The reception was held in a tented space with open air and the surrounding garden area had a few sections for guests to sprawl out. There was a water fountain, audio guestbook in a telephone booth, a photo booth van and some benches around the perimeter. The meal they served there was pretty good. Not sure if catering is directly tied to the venue, but we got the chicken and steak. Here are the descriptions of each: California Artisan Chicken Picatta Marinated chicken breast with lemon, herbs, caper beurre blanc. Chef's Harvest Roast USDA Choice Beef stuffed with roasted garlic , infused with Fresh Rosemary & Thyme, Rubbed with Whole Grain Mustard, and topped with a Mediterranean Style Olive Au Jus Sauce. Pretty solid option. The only thing I would caution is bring bug spray. Because the ceremony and reception was open air, I was eaten alive. Not sure if it's the humidity during that time, but I had multiple bug bites after I was here, lol. Other than that, the grounds are well maintained and space was intimate without feeling small.

The property is absolutely stunning, with well maintained grounds, ample parking, a spacious, air conditioned bridal suite with mirrored walls, clothes racks, and an ironing board. The suite even has its own bathroom. The venue has a decent sized dance floor along with enough room inside to seat close to 200 guests. The bathrooms were clean and had multiple stalls to accommodate the ladies. There is also a huge kitchen with a walk in frig that is available for use as part of your rental. We had approximately 250+ guests attend our event and there was plenty of space in the back lawn area for over flow seating. We used the outdoor patio area to set up 4 buffet lines of food. 2 lines for our catered meal, 1 line for kids meal, and 1 line for our cultural foods. The patio area also had ample room for us to place our photo booth there. The back grass and patio area looks spectacular at night with the market lights to add to the festive ambiance. The grounds were large enough to house an adult sized jumper that helped to keep our younger guests entertained. The grass area still had plenty of available space for a corn hole spot, our marquee letter signs and our taco guy we hired to end our night's festivities. Shannon is the property manager, and she is a true gem. She worked tirelessly with us to help obtain all our vendor COIs and was extremely kind to allow us to come the day before our party to drop off our drinks and many party supplies. Anything we needed, Shannon was there to help resolve. She is friendly and professional, with a sense of humor to boot. We received sooo many compliments from our family and friends about how beautiful the venue was. Of course, anyone who dealt with Shannon adored her and her down to earth vibe! We loved that we could bring our own food to the venue without being tied to a set list of food vendors. The bar area was also spacious and the bartender kept the libations flowing all night long. The Optimist Club has 3 belly tables with linens that came with rental of the venue. These worked out fabulously for our guests wanting to hang out by the bar and smoking area. My husband and I were very happy with the planning process at Wedgewood Carlsbad Windmill. The…read moreplanning team was organized, responsive, and made the months leading up to our wedding incredibly easy. They helped simplify decisions and kept everything on track, which we greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience on the actual wedding day did not meet the expectations set during the planning process. When speaking with our planners, specifically for the ceremony portion, we mentioned that we wanted to create reception programs. We spent the time and money to do so, and we specifically intended them to be placed on the reception tables for guests to read during dinner and throughout the reception. Instead, they were placed on the ceremony chairs. This was not what we had planned, and many guests either left them behind after the ceremony or did not have them available during the reception when they were actually meant to be used. We also purchased the Elite Open Bar package and informed Wedgewood multiple times beforehand that our guests would likely consume a significant amount of Hennessy shots. Despite this, many guests commented that the bartenders were pouring unusually small shots and sometimes refusing additional shots if they believed a guest had already received one. This created frustration among our guests and did not reflect the open-bar experience we had paid for. We also received multiple complaints regarding one of the bartenders, specifically the African American male bartender. Several guests felt he was rude and unprofessional. One guest witnessed him move our drink menu from the front of the bar to the back so that a tip sign could be displayed more prominently. When she was trying to order and could not see the menu, he repeatedly rushed her and reminded her that there was a line behind her. Additionally, one of my bridesmaids ordered a drink for herself and later returned to the bar after I asked her to get me one while I was on the dance floor. The bartender questioned her, saying, "I just gave you one," and after she explained that the second drink was for the bride, he appeared reluctant to serve her and rolled his eyes. Our biggest operational concern involved the ceremony coordination and officiant, Kimiko. Communication between the officiant and coordinators appeared lacking. I was surprised when the officiant approached my husband and me approximately 10 minutes before the ceremony to ask about the order of the processional and who would be participating in the Filipino traditions, including the veil, cord, and candle ceremonies. These details had already been discussed and practiced during rehearsal the day before. At one point, when our photographer attempted to correct the officiant, she responded with visible attitude in front of everyone, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Additionally, the officiant should have confirmed marriage license witnesses ahead of time. During an already busy and hectic period when we were taking photos and greeting guests after during cocktail hour, she asked me to identify witnesses from the crowd rather than having this organized beforehand. This added unnecessary stress at a time when we should have been able to focus on enjoying our celebration. The rehearsal itself went smoothly, and the ceremony order was clearly established. However, on the wedding day, several parts were executed incorrectly in front of our guests. For a wedding that incorporated cultural traditions that are deeply meaningful to our families, this was particularly disappointing. We trusted that the rehearsal would ensure everything ran smoothly, but that was not the case. The order of our Filipino traditions had been reviewed and finalized during rehearsal but was not followed during the ceremony. With that being said, one of our biggest disappointments was that the blessing of the food was also forgotten before the table dash. As a Filipino Catholic couple, saying a prayer and blessing the meal before eating is not simply a small detail--it is a meaningful tradition and an important part of our faith and culture. We specifically included this in our plans because it was something that mattered deeply to us and our families. Once the table dash began and guests started getting food, there was no opportunity to properly incorporate the blessing as intended. It was heartbreaking to realize afterward that such an important moment had been overlooked. Overall, while the planning team did an excellent job preparing us for the wedding, the execution on the wedding day fell short in several important areas. We are grateful for the support we received throughout the planning process, but we hope these concerns are addressed so future couples--especially those incorporating important cultural and religious traditions into their wedding day--can have a smoother and more thoughtfully executed experience.
