Blue Night Banquet Hall is a nice venue for weddings, Quinseañera's, graduation parties etc., located in Escondido, CA. We attended a family member's 15th birthday party and the place fit appropriately 200 people comfortably. The outside and bathrooms were a bit outdated, but other than that, I'd still book venue for a special event. There's a Starbucks about 1 minute away in case you get to venue early before they open and need a drink and bathroom break. Happy Yelping :) read more

Heard really bad things about this place, but let me tell you my experience here was more pleasant than what I expected, Wally was very attentive to everything, things didn't go 100% as planned but what does? Even though it didn't go as planned Wally did his best to make it pleasant and less stressful for me.I highly recommend this place!! The venue is spacious, and although the tables lacked decoration, they still looked very pretty. Everything else was simply AWFUL. We signed the contract with Ray, and had all planning meetings with Ray, but the day of the event is handled by Wally (his dad/owner?), so anything that was agreed upon and promised is not delivered. I would discourage anyone from renting this venue unless you want to be arguing with the staff all night and want your guests to have a horrible time. Wally, Lucy, the servers, and the bartender were horrible to us and to all of our guests. I've had several people reach out to me after the fact sharing their experiences. I am mortified that they were treated that way. They were very unprofessional and unorganized, just terrible, terrible people. The bartender refused to give my husband a drink for our daughter, who was the Quinceanera!! They simply don't give a damn how they are perceived or how they treat others; they make you feel like they are doing you a favor...even though you paid THOUSANDS of dollars to rent the place. Although we were told people could get as much food as they'd like, they were met with sarcastic comments when going for their second serving. Ray stated that any leftover food would be packed and given to us. We had less than the number of expected guests, and the only thing we were given were the rice and beans.....apparently, the birria went back to the vendor?? When my husband asked Wally, he said the food ran out. We had less than the 200 guests we invited, and people were not going for seconds because of how uncomfortable they were made to feel. I don't get how there was no more birria. When I confronted Wally, he said to reach out to him the next day so he could give me the vendor's address so I could get the birria from him.....of freaking unprofessional and shady is that? The entire staff was argumentative and annoyed, and when we would ask for something as simple as paper napkins, they would make us feel like we were an inconvenience. The main table was missing utensils and champagne glasses, and when I went to tell them, they waited until the mother/daughter dance, when video and photos were being taken, to take care of the issue. You can see them in the background of the video/pictures! We were promised three tres leches cakes, but they would only serve a certain amount of plates at a time. I had to go into the kitchen SEVERAL TIMES to ask them to please bring out more cake. Again, they barely served a sheet and a half of cake and kept the rest of it and the rest of the 300 plates and forks I had given them for the cake. We were told that they would provide all of the ice and that the drinks would be put in the fridge the night before so they could be cold by the time they were to be served. We get to the venue the day of the party, and all beers and drinks are at room temperature. When I asked Wally, he said TO MY FACE that he never told me he would put it in the fridge.....he FLAT OUT LIED TO ME! My husband had to run to the store to purchase a bunch of ice (even though they said they would provide all necessary ice), or else the drinks would not be ready by the time the party started. Do not book this banquet hall. It's an absolute mess. This place did not trim on the ac until after we had asked. They kept the food we had from catering, the vegetarian option had meat in it, and it was stated in the contract that we would be give salad so it was a big shock to us when they did not even offer it to us. The banquet hall is also incredibly small and the staff were very rude and unpleasant. They kicked us out of the hall an hour early and when someone asked if they could go in the hall to use the bathroom the security guard would not let them. We had to literally beg to use the bathroom and once they let us in the bathroom they shut off the light and left us completely in the dark. I would never recommend this banquet hall to anyone. read more

LIES - LIES - LIES We had our wedding there on a Sunday. And I wanted to share some of our disappointments with what happened. 1. We were promised that the ceremony would be in the newly renovated room. Instead it was in the hall leading up to the room. While the hall was nice, many family members complained that they couldnt see the ceremony. 2. The cake looked nothing like the picture. You told us that we would cut the top of the cake and not from a small part of the back. You also said the cake would be removed from the room so everyone thought their piece came from the actual wedding cake. Instead the cake stayed there until the end. Of the family members I spoke with more than half didn't get any cake at all. The cake was very plain and the flavor was never discussed with us. Extremely disappointed as this fake cake was more than a real cake we could have got elsewhere. 3. You told the DJ to stop the music at 7:45pm. We had paid you and the DJ till 9pm. While the party was dying down I admit. But that was our call to make as we were the paying customer. 4. The food that Wali says is so wonderful was mediocre at best. We chose the asian food and it was from Fasia Buffet. But all that Wali wanted to pay for was the cheapest items on the menu. 5. It was very hot in the hall, but even after compalaints, Wali wouldnt turn on the AC enough to chill the room to a reasonable level. I guess he was more concerned about saving a few bucks on his electric bill. 6. Wali has us hire his friend for the photography. Wali promised told us that the photographer would come to our home and do a photo shoot a couple days before. Of course the photographer said that is a different package. The pictures took exactly 6 weeks to get back. I got a 180 pictures I noticed many were missing. Instead of pictures of our guests at the table I got many pictures that were almost identical. For example I got 11 pictures of me removing the garter belt. But only one of our guest at the table. The video came out good I must admit. We both are easy to work with. But after hearing from the family about the cake and not being able to see I thought I would share our great disappointment. Last November we held a quinceañera there. It ended in disaster. They fell short of their promises. They shut down our event an hour prior to what was agreed upon. To make matters worse they attempted to keep the alcohol that we purchased. A beautiful place that was overpriced and was ran by used car dealers. STAY AWAY!!! read more

The room was spacious everything including our buffet/ bar/photobooth/dessert table/DJ/and surprise dancers including our 140 guests fit into the hall with room to spare. We LOVE LOVE LOVED our light up dance floor which brought that extra fun into our dancing hours. Worst place to do an event at, if i could give 0 stars i would. Not worth the money that they charger over priced for the service to be horrible, thier food came out cold the day of the event. When giving the food test they promise other things and when the days comes its the worst thing ever. The manager "owner" super rude the contracts says serve food for 3 hours and they only did 1 and refused to give more food out after 1 hour !! I had drinks and deserts i brought myself for the event and when i went to check they took everything and no where to be found. I rented one of the ballrooms for my wedding reception. I worked with Ray, who was friendly and easy to work with. That positive impression would quickly fade as my event date approached. Two weeks in advance of my wedding, I sent a detailed email full of linen colors, centerpiece choice, napkin fold type, and table set up layout. Ray responded and thanked me for the detailed email. Yet 9 days before my wedding my fiancé gets a call from Wali, the owner, stating that we had to come in person to meet with him by 5pm the next day to discuss design details and submit the final payment. For two people who work, especially since my fiancé and I work 30 and 45 minutes away, that was an inconvenience, and I actually had to cancel two meetings in order to attend. We reviewed all of the choices with Wali, who assured us that they would have it set up. On the day before the wedding, there were tables in the wrong place and the wrong glasses were on the table. This certainly made me feel like I had wasted my time coming in-person, on short notice, to review these details in advance. The part that has bothered me the most is in regard to the pricing. From the first inquiry, the pricing was calculated as a per person price. In fact, my initial inquiry received a price of $65 per person. Just before we went to sign the contract, Ray told us that he had made an error and that the price would be $5 dollars more per person. My fiancé and I decided to accept this and go ahead and proceed. Ray changed the terms of the contract to make the final payment due 7 days before the event date, as a small way to make up for this. I was verbally told that we could adjust the guest count prior to the final payment. Then 9 days before our wedding, when our total guest list had been reduced, in advance of the 7 day deadline, Wali said that the contract is not based on a per person price. Despite the fact that the contract lists the number of people and the pricing is calculated using a per person price. Being 9 days out from our wedding, my fiancé and I feared retribution on our wedding day if we argued over it. We did not feel like we had much of a choice, but to grudgingly accept the higher cost and having to pay for more guests than were going to be present. The most stressful thing occurred the day before my wedding. I had been reassured by Ray and Wali at least five times that they opened at 11:30am and that my vendors and I could come and set up the day before or the day of, whichever I preferred. On the day of the event, I was there at 11:30am and the place was locked. We called the main number and were told that we should have called to ask him [Wali] to be there to open up. Then, he arrived over TWO HOURS LATE. I literally was in tears trying to set up my rehearsal dinner and still have time to make the preparations to this venue (I had some personal decorations I wanted to set up) prior to my 4:30pm ceremony rehearsal and subsequent dinner. These issues completely soured my experience in dealing with the staff of Blue Night Banquet Hall. Fortunately, I had a beautiful wedding reception, arguably solely due to my hard work, despite this. Note: In order to get what I paid for, I called the caterer and told him what was going on. I revised the guest count to the amount I paid for and he had the extra food (and all leftovers) packed and ready for me to take home. I also made a point to take home all of my extra alcohol. A quick read of other reviews shows that others have had issues. I did not have the same issues, but that is because I used Red Tail Catering for the food, but chose the chicken piccatta and tri-tip (both of which were delicious, warm, and served buffet style by plenty of servers), which was not one of the set menus that Ray presented. I also brought my own cake, beverages, DJ, and photographer. The moral of the story is to know your guest count when signing the contract! read more

I completely recommend this venue to anyone looking to host any size of a party my wife and I had our wedding reception there for 330 guests and Lucy & Wally made sure everything went by smooth. They decorated so elegant and made sure they followed the layout we gave them. I am not disappointed what's so ever. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Don't get fooled by the bad reviews people have put on this banquet. All you have to do is comunícate with the team they'll make sure you're taken care of. We had our daughter's "walimah" (wedding reception) on thanksgiving night at blue night banquet hall. I have to say that it was better than we expected. We had a lot of special requests and Wali (the owner) worked with us to accommodate all our requests. The wait staff were very professional and helpful (especially the Persian lady and guy) and thankfully everything went very smoothly. We had my son's wedding at this venue, it was just wonderful. Wally owner, Lucy event coordinator,Lety waitress and Rudy security were just awesome went above and beyond to make this special day a great one. They were very accommodating and guided us in all the planning for the wedding. Food was delicious all my guest loved the food we had the mexican menu its was very flavorful. Decorations where just so elegant and our guest kept on commenting on how everything was just wonderful. Lucy and Lety even helped us when one of our guest needed assistance with his medical condition. Lety was so nice and caring she went above and beyond her duty.
