My first time going here, I was annoyed. I called and they said the wait time would be 30 min I ended up waiting 2 hours but in their defense I went on a Friday afternoon without an appointment. My nails were worth the wait!! My nail technician was Lorrie and she did a phenomenal job! She took her time, she was very thorough and neat. My nails have never looked this good! Not only did she do my nails perfectly she also was a great conversationalist. The shop itself was very clean and neat; the prices were great too, they even offer student discounts from Monday-Wednesday. All together it was a truly amazing experience and I will definitely be going back (next time with an appointment). I went in for a basic manicure no gel, no extras and had an extremely disappointing experience. I patiently waited 45 minutes while all the technicians were with other clients. Once it was finally my turn, the technician rushed me to the chair and was visibly impatient from the start. I asked politely if she could file my nails instead of cutting them, explaining that while my thumb nail was shorter, I preferred to keep the others at their current length. She started muttering under her breath, which I found upsetting and unprofessional. During the service, she cut me twice while trimming my cuticles, and when I tried to explain how I like my nails shaped square, but mindful that they grow out wider I attempted to show her a photo for reference. She became visibly frustrated and started speaking loudly to a coworker in another language, which made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected. Things escalated when she began pointing and raising her voice, drawing attention from others in the salon. The manager stepped in and offered to complete the service, but by that point, I felt humiliated and too upset to continue. This was supposed to be a relaxing experience, but instead, it turned into one of the worst salon visits I've had. Basic courtesy and respectful communication were completely lacking. As someone who has been getting their nails done for 5 years with dipping powder, I have had my fair share of bad experiences but nothing compares to this one. The nail tech that I had was blowing her vape/ weed pen in her face throughout my whole appointment. When she took off my previous set of nails she scarped them off with a metal tool and did not remove them properly. She then proceeded to make my nails way too thin to where the broke off with in two days. I am not typically one to complain but given they were broken after two days so I called and asked nicely if they could fix them. Charged me $65 for an acrylic fill due to the fact I had previous pink acrylic powder on my nails. I have never spent more then $60 on a full set of nails never mind a fill with no shaping. They used dip in the color bubble bath instead of pink acrylic. I just moved to the area and have been looking for a nail salon. I decided on this one due to the mostly positive reviews and how close it is to where I am currently staying but I will continue to look for another salon. The services I asked for was a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. My entire experience was pretty good for the most part but the towels they use during the "hot wrap" smell wet and moldy. I was not a fan of leaving the salon smelling like this. In addition to this, 2 days later, I have three gel nails that have chipped which typically does not happen until a month later from my past experience with various nail salons. I am super disappointed especially since my total was $85 with a $10 tip. This was my first time getting my nails done in tuscaloosa and I was beyond disappointed. I made an appointment for 3 & wasn't seen until 30-40 minutes later. This is usually my go-to nail salon in town but today was incredibly disappointing. I showed up 5 min before their posted open time of 9:30 to ensure I wouldn't have to wait (or at least not long). The only two staff there were already working on customers but I was told additional staff were on their way and would be there shortly. I said something after I'd already been waiting 30 min, during which time 5 more customers had come in after me and one of whom was being helped before me (she didn't have an appointment). No additional staff had come in. I was finally helped for my gel manicure after 40 min of waiting by one of the 2 original staff there. Additional staff finally started rolling in after I'd started. I felt like the woman doing my nails was rushing the entire time. They couldn't find the color I originally requested, I had to keep asking her to cut/file my nails shorter and round the edges a bit, she quickly rubbed some lotion on my hands (they usually do up to elbows) and no cuticle oil or hot towels afterwards (they have always done this in the past). She also didn't do a final file after all the polish was on, so I still left with square, almost sharp-cornered nails and rough edges/ends. Honestly not sure I'll go back here. read more

Truly the best manicure I've gotten in the greater Tuscaloosa area! After trying several nail spots over my years as a student, this is the only salon I fully trust. Lena is very talented at dip powder nails... but i consistently get a beautiful result no matter which technician I get. They also do a lovely pedicure. Tip: This is a smaller salon that can get quite busy. If you want a more relaxing experience I recommend going early or on a week day. I feel very relaxed when I come here and I know im in good hands. Kim does the best acrylic nails, very natural looking. The rest of their services are also always done nicely. There can sometimes be a wait, as the staff takes their time caring for your nails/toes, but it is worth the wait. I recommend making an appointment prior to visiting to cut your wait time!
