I went in to have my nails done on 01/29/22. I got a gift certificate for Christmas. I got a full set with gel color and a pedicure with gel color. Totaling $95 (including tip). Within a couple days it looks like it's been several weeks since I've had my nails done and fingernails just look horrible. Toes looked great and I felt she did a great job. Only prob was one week after getting my toes done four nails the color has completely come off (come off peeled in one solid sheet). My fingernails you can tell the acrylic is not glued to my real nails. So sad and a waste of money. For reference I'm a stay at home mom and don't do anything to cause damage besides typical stuff. read more

This was my first visit to this location. I arrived from out of town in need of a pedicure for an event. This place opens at 9am. It was quiet when I arrived, there were only 2 other people in the shop. I got a pedicure for myself and a toe polish for my niece. I have had better pedicures. The technicians hands were cold and she seemed as if she was in a rush. She was a little rough with handling the job, but got it done. Overall I was pleased with the job, but I am not sure I will return. I think this place needs to work on people skills. My niece liked her toes. read more

As requested by the store owner, I would like to confirm with absolute certainty that I'm talking about the correct nail salon. My review is for Mele Nails on Mcfarland Blvd in NORTHPORT, AL (which is in TUSCALOOSA County). I had been to Mele nails dozens of times before writing this review so I'm certain that I am not talking about the wrong salon, as the owner is implying. I'm sorry if negative yelp reviews affect your business but I believe people have a right to know what the quality of the service is before they spend their money. The nail tech I was speaking about in my review from two years ago is the store owner, Mele (she's literally pictured in the cover photo on the Mele Nails Yelp account). A majority of the times I got my nails done at Mele Nails they were done by Mele and I'd say that I was happy with the result about 60% of the time. Sometimes my nails would turn out great and other times they would be rushed and sloppy. I would like to add that I only ever got full acrylic sets done at Mele, so you may have a better experience than I did if you are having a different service done, and perhaps they have even improved their acrylic services since my review two years ago. Two stars because the people here are SO friendly, happy and just all around nice to everyone. Sadly, my gel manicure was not great. three of my fingers have blood spots- let me explain. the nail tech doing my nails was super quick and pretty aggressive with the cuticle clippers. This caused my nails to bleed in multiple spots. to make matters so much worse, he had sharpened his own thumbnails to a point, and used them to swipe up excess polish or "correct" where he had over polished. On top of my already bleeding cuticles, this felt like tiny razor blades! Sadly his english wasn't great, so he had a hard time understanding when I asked him to slow down- i even pointed to his nails and said "ouch!" I left with sore fingers and GEL nail polish all over my hands but at least they were so friendly and only charged me $25... silver lining? I won't be coming here again, but if you're willing to brave it- just know they're very nice people just a bit aggressive on delicate fingers! read more

As requested by the owner... I can confirm I was at the right location on MCFARLAND BOULEVARD. Per my review, I was NEVER helped after sitting for 30+ minutes and calling prior to confirm I could come, so how would I possibly know the name of a technician who I never had the chance to sit down with? It's absolutely ridiculous of an establishment to only address all of the deservedly negative reviews and try to come up with an excuse that because I don't have the name of a technician that my review is for the wrong place. You seem to be completely fine with the positive reviews not mentioning nail techs? How do we know those are valid? I just recently relocated to the area and was excited to find this nail salon. Amber was doing my pedicure and Vinny would do my nails. The first two times I was happy and was looking forward to being a loyal customer at their salon. However I called a week ago to make an appointment for today and walked in to find out that Amber had left and their were three people waiting ahead of me. Therefore Vinny rushed to do my fill-in (see pictures) and did an awful job. I was then told after my nails were complete to come by back in a couple of hours to get my pedicure even though I had already paid. I went and asked for a refund for my pedicure and left. They lost a customer and I will never return. I had to go to another salon to fix my polish on my nails and to get a pedicure. It is horrible that Amber left but to be treated so horrible after making an appointment. I will not return! read more

I was really looking for a place where I could get acrylics done and I saw the reviews for Meles. Calling and making a nail appointment was very easy!
