My garage door spring broke on a Friday afternoon, so I made an appointment to meet a repair technician between 1 and 3 the following Monday. The lady I talked with said a broken spring was not a problem and they were booking appointments for Monday afternoon. I took off of work and the technician, Matt, arrived at 1:30. After looking at the spring, he said he wasn't sure if they had any springs in stock and he would take some measurements. About ten minutes later, he came back to the door and said I would be better off calling Overhead Door of Houston as that is who they would outsource the job to anyway. That's very disappointing - if you are going to advertise as a repair company for residential garage doors, at least have some of the basic supplies in stock or, if you don't, let me know before wasting both of our time with the potential customer taking off of work. Now I have to wait three more days for yet another appointment with a different company. If you have a garage door issue, this company just isn't reliable. My neighbors all recommend Bellaire Garage Door for repairs/replacements. Matt came out the first time and saved our opener by replacing a small part of it instead of replacing the whole unit. I called other companies and others all wanted to replace the opener. Later on my sensors were acting up and Jeanie told me to double check and realign both sensors and they worked! After several month, the tension spring finally gave out. Shawn came out and replaced it without issues. Still the best local garage door repair company in the Houston area. I love that it's small enough that you actually talk to the owner on the phone. They'll get there within 24 hours in most cases. Fix it quickly and not charge you an arm and a leg. I had a roller fall out of the track. It took them all of 10 minutes to fix it and charged me just the diagnostic fee. While he was there he checked the rest of the door just to make sure everything was okay. They don't try to sell you stuff. If they can fix your door they will. And I mean even when it's on its last leg! My former review still stands: "We use NO OTHER garage door place for repairs. They get out there very quickly. In an emergency they can be there in a few hours. Always arrive within the time frame they give or they call and let you know so you aren't just sitting around getting flustered. They repair before they replace. Which is great because our HOA is a bitch about garage doors. They have never tried to sell me stuff I didn't need. But if you do need parts they have a great warranty. The garage door we have is obsolete and replacing panels is a special order. These guys have put ours back together several times so we don't have that huge expense. Super reasonable. Less that $65 usually for a house call. And each time they repair a dent or do an adjustment they do the full check and maintenance. The folks that come out are always friendly and I feel comfortable having them in my home. Look there are a ton of garage door companies in the Houston area I know are probably good at their craft too. But these guys have won me over and I recommend them to all my home owner friends. Very sweet guys, right on time, honest with the pricing and make good recommendations to save you money. I bought a house and the two garage door openers were acting out a little bit. I tried to install a MyQ I bought on Amazon myself and boy that did not go well. I called another garage door guy and he would not agree to come in unless I committed to buying two new garage openers from him. I called these guys and they fixed everything and installed my MyQ at one forth of the price the other guy wanted. I found Bellaire Garage Door after our garage door malfunctioned yesterday, and I highly recommend them. My husband tried to open the garage from the outside but couldn't. After entering through the side door, he saw the coils had snapped on both sides which then sliced the wires and sensors to the motor, and one of our cars was locked inside. We called them last night, explained what we saw, the earliest they could come was this morning, Randy came out and luckily earlier than the original ETA, he was fast, knowledgeable, replaced all the coils, spliced the wires to the motors, reattached the sensors, he was out there 1 hour, and it was reasonable. I've used these guys two times already. They are the best. They're prices are great too. They were on time in the appointment window and the technician clearly knew what he was doing. My garage door got off track when I accidentally placed a large item in its way and bent the tracks. I have a 1950's home in the Willowbend area (near Bellaire) Rather than quoting for a new set up, they managed to repair my existing unit. Works like new! I highly recommend them. I'm a fan. Chose them after reading the other two reviews and after calling the top few that came back in a Google search (they were mostly national referral organizations that I didn't trust). BGD came out same day within a couple hours of me calling them. They called me before they arrived so I could get home from work to meet them. After a few minutes they (the uncle) made an adjustment and charged me only $25 (they quoted $65 labor minimum), which I was happy to pay even though they didn't need to do much (hey, it's only fair). Two days later my garage door wouldn't shut again. Once again they came out the same day (within a few hours of my call). They (the nephew) did more work, made adjustments, cleaned/greased the tracks, but then wouldn't accept payment! He was patient, showed us what he was doing and explained why, and couldn't have been nicer. Ethical guys, fast response, knowledgeable, and dare I even say that they were generous?! We put their sticker on the wall next to our garage door switch in case we need assistance again. I love that they are local (to me, at least). Finally, FWIW, I'm not religious at all but I didn't object to the "God Bless" they wrote on the bottom of their invoice. If religion produced more people like these guys then I'd be first in line at that church! read more

Randy and Jeanny are very pleasant to work with. The brackets holding my spring and cable drum broke. I initially got another company to come and evaluate. They basically told me that the bracket is difficult to get and the labor + equipment will cost 500 dollars. They offered replacing the entire garage door for 800 plus tax. I called Jeanny who asked me to send the pictures over email. She consulted Randy and called immediately and told me not to replace the door. Randy came next day on time and fixed the door in 30 minutes. I was not at home but my in laws were really impressed by his work ethic. Highly recommend this company. read more

I had previously used one of the many garage door companies listed in the Greensheet. They tried to hard sell me on replacing the springs, at a cost of nearly $300. When Bellaire came out, they said springs were fine, sensors needed replacing and they did a complete tuneup of the entire system and then some for about half that price. Very pleasant and thorough. They are very personable and thorough and I highly recommend them to anyone wanting service from a longtime family owned, locally owned business. read more

After a disastrous and failed attempt by Amadoor Overhead Door to my fix my garage door, I called Bellaire Garage Door. Got an appointment the very next day, and the owner, Randy came out, right on time. He quickly determined the problem and within a few minutes, it was solved...and at no charge! (I plan to mail him a check in a few weeks, if the repair holds,) Here are two subtleties that give you a hint was to why this is the place to call. 1) This is a "mom and pop" operation that has been in biz for years and one reason for their success is friendly, helpful customer service. The scheduler is Randy's wife (I believe), so all concerned have "skin in the game". B) When Randy went to find the necessary part in his truck, I followed him....bingo! Just what I like to see in a pro....everything in the truck was very well organized with all items readily available and in the their place.
