Instead I was met with a male who's sarcasm was unnecessary. His unwillingness to help and down right rudeness was very uncalled for. Quite frankly he made me feel extremely small. I expressed it was my first time calling for advice and he proceeded to use a condescending tone to remind me of how uneducated with the process I was Prior to the call I did perform some of my own research through various websites but I figured why not pick up the phone and ask an experienced "professional?". Actually he was not professional at all. He went as far as telling me that it's because of people like me that liters end up at pet stores! Like really? WOW! I wondered if his comments were racially motivated which is not uncommon in that part of CT. However the treatment was just sad I wonder if he would appreciate someone talking to his wife, mother or kids the same way he spoke to me? Just a nasty human being! I went out to the farm and lo and behold, the most beautiful puppies ever! I fell in love with two and I only went there for one. There is no high pressure sale here, just time to sit and play before you choose or wait for the next litter. I met with Melissa, she asked me what I was looking for and brought out a few. Her own dogs are gorgeous and well behaved. It was pretty tough trying to choose. Beautiful grounds and a place to sit and play. But since I brought Humphrey (my magical wonder kitten) home, my heart has opened back up. He brings me such joy and peace every moment. He's chatty, cuddly, social, and so sweet. They are hand-raising each little fuzzball with care and actual love, high socialization and new experiences - absolutely everything you'd want a kitten to have in those first crucial months of life. I don't have a lot of money, and I was really scared to take such a large financial risk, but I've only had my kitten home for a week and I can't imagine anything in the entire world being more worth the investment. Thru the entire process, I felt safe and reassured working with Elena - she answered all of my (many, many) questions, sent regular pics and vids, and was a total joy during the whole process. Elena and her merry band of fairy children are not just raising kittens, they are putting love and light out into the world where it is desperately needed - of course on a personal level for each lucky human who brings one of their sweet baby angel kitties home, but the love we exchange with these fur-babies will shine like a beacon for others out in the world. Should be named the "Cheshire dog store"…read more I was heading toward Cheshire to run some errands. I was low on cat food of a specific brand (Fromm). There are several good animal feed stores in the area, so I searched for one that stocked a specific brand of dry cat food: Fromm. I found this store online, checked it out, and saw that their website showed that they stocked Fromm dry cat food. The online photo, which is a stock photo that can be found on Fromm's website, shows seven varieties. I stopped at the store when I got to Cheshire. Aside from a quick greeting when I entered the store, I didn't have any interaction with the staff during my visit. The section dedicated to dogs was large, varied and comprehensive. I had some trouble finding the cat section. I went in search of Fromm brand dry cat food and finally found a single large bag and three smaller bags on a table. They were not the variety or size that I was looking for. I decided to leave. Their dog supplies are fairly good, but the forty mile commute to Cheshire Cat and Dog is a little long. I am heading to the local Agway to stock up on Fromm dry food for cats.
