I cannot say enough positive about Shaker's fish market! One of the first things you will…read moreshockingly notice is it does NOT smell fishy inside. It's immaculate, it takes a real dedication to cleanliness and quality to not smell fishy. The next thing are all of the cases with iced fish, where every piece looks like restaurant quality seafood, gorgeous color on everything! They are incredibly friendly and helpful. The prices are also really reasonable, if you know the market with fantastic specials daily! $4.99 for a lb. Of mussels! Don't think twice about going here if you are a seafood lover, the selection is unbelievable for such a little storefront. Scampi as big as your arm and lobster tails the size of your head, and live lobsters!! This place is a true gem, westsiders rejoice.

We arrived around 3:15 PM today and during our visit, one of the male employees watched us with a hostile and intimidating stare the entire time we browsed the store. His behavior made all of us uncomfortable. At one point, he even walked to the window and watched my family as they walked away down the sidewalk. I spent a lot amount of money in their store, so I'm unsure whether he suspected us of shoplifting or if it was another issue. Regardless, his demeanor came across as unpleasant, unwelcoming, and intimidating. I wanted to make Shaker's aware of this because it significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable visit, and I sincerely hope other customers are not treated in a similar manner.

Ethnic groceries are one of my favorite places to shop, there's always something new to try! I…read morealways tend to keep my kitchen stocked with new ingredients based on what cuisine or recipes are inspiring me at that moment. I got into the habit of ordering these specialty items on Amazon, simply out of convenience, but this year I decided I would try instead to support local businesses instead. Rather than running to Amazon when I needed a special spice, I scoured Yelp for local groceries that might have what I was looking for, and I found even more than I hoped to at Patel Brothers! I noticed immediately the store is spare, but clean and very organized. It was very easy to find the items I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find they had fresh produce as well. I was really excited to find curry leaves here, which is used in a lot of Indian cooking, but I typically have a hard time finding them. At just $1 a bag. I felt like I hit the jackpot! I brought my husband along as well, and he stocked up on the great selection of snacks they had. I was also able to find all the spices I was looking for: Kashmiri chili powder, amchoor powder, and chaat masala. My only dismay was that all the spices are sold in pretty big bags, which I think would be appropriate for a family who uses these spices every day, but it would have been great if they had a bulk option instead so I can get a smaller amount. In any case, we came out with a great haul, and the cashier even offered us a freshly made samosa on our way out, which was delicious. Here's to supporting more local businesses in 2020, and the beauty that ethnic groceries have to offer!

I like that they have most of the things I need from raw material to prepared food. The owners are nice and friendly. I visit this place almost every weekend and always found what I was looking for. I have never had to ask the owners about anything but I am sure they are helpful if you ask them any questions. They also have occasional exhibits of jewelry of Indian origin if anyone is interested. A nice neighborhood grocery store.

The menu is really nice, loaded with so many appetizing things! I wanted to start with a side salad and ordered that, but unfortunately it never came. I did get their spicy French dip, which was a special and it was decent. The onion rings were amazing, so were their baked beans. Service was decent for a group our size. Overall, it was a decent visit.

She also explained their loyalty program and the difference between the reusable bags I wanted to purchase. I chose the insulated one because it was a hot afternoon and my drive was 35 minutes. The staff person also explained that I wouldn't have to boil my pierogis, just heat up in butter. I was also thanked for shopping there today. After I arrived home I followed the directions for heating up all items. My family and I were very happy with our meal! Their cabbage rolls have a unique flavor which was delicious. Thumbs up too on the Reuben balls and pierogis! Will be back here very soon to try other pierogi flavors.

I stopped in last minute while out running errands. I was seated immediately on a busy Saturday late morning and greeted right after. The menu is fantastic. Great options, wonderful seasonal specials. (Short rib omelette?! Hell yes!) I wanted basic, so I built my own omelette with a side of bacon and a hot tea. They have a great drink menu- coffee, specialty cocoas, tea, cocktails, mocktails, and refreshers. I was on my way to see a friend, so I grabbed us each a refresher to go. My meal was out in just minutes. Expertly prepared, fresh and delicious. Also a very nice portion. Sourdough toast was excellent. Generous filling for the omelette too. The only drawback was a common plight for strip mall restaurants- entrance that opens straight into the dining room. No foyer or vestibule means the cold January air nipped you in the face every time that front door opened. On cold days, get a table in the back. I'd like to highlight the mocktail concept, too. I often want a spirited drink but don't imbibe booze often. I love that they have offerings. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. I can't wait to come back!
