We just had the wonderful experience of having lunch at Bellatrix. We were greeted by the nicest young man, Johnny. He was so polite, so accommodating and checked back with us several times during our lunch. The food was very good and the beauty of the restaurant and the view of the golf course was gorgeous. The classiest happy hour place in the Coachella (so far). The setting is great. They serve first rate wine and beer. I ordered the bleu cheese burger and it was great. I got a cup their tasty french onion soup which was more like a bowl. The prices were comparable to other usual happy hour locations but the food and drink quality put them at the top. Didn't expect much given how remote and hidden the place is at Classic Club Golf Course but once you get there you see how grand and elegant the clubhouse and restaurant is. One of the best and classiest in the city. Food quality is legit. Had the sea bass Asian style. One of the best I've had. You can tell it's gourmet. Excellent service throughout the clubhouse. Our party of 9 was totally disappointed in this restaurant. We have always loved the facility and had good luck with the previous restaurant at lunch. This one needs some serious improvements. First - the sort of good parts. It was not very busy, even on "prime rib special" night, and the room has tables comfortably placed. The quantity of staff seemed very good. The waitress was pleasant and cheery, although not very familiar with the menu. The auxiliary staff kept glasses filled and plates cleared. They did forget to put bread on the table until it was asked for during the entrees. The guys in our group found a good, reasonably priced Merlot wine on the menu and enjoyed that. Now to the food... the Caesar salads were uniformly rated dull and tasteless. The anchovy pieces were actually appreciated for some taste, but would have been put to better use ground up in the dressing to add flavor. The prime rib was mediocre at best; one of the pieces was very tough, and the others were just OK, although I personally thought my bite lacked flavor. Two of us had halibut and rated it bad - dry, overcooked, no flavor. The accompanying risotto and wilted spinach didn't add anything for flavor. When asked by the manager what we thought of the food, I expressed my disappointment in the halibut. He graciously offered to replace it, but by that time nothing else looked particularly appetizing. He did take my dinner price off our bill, which was nice. Others less outspoken suffered through their meal without recompense. Other entrees in the party included the lamb osso bucco, later described as tough and tasting like it had been rewarmed several times in the microwave, and the veal chop which was not good either. Side dishes were lukewarm as was the veal. Sadly, we and our friends will not be returning here for dinner. read more

When making reservations I requested a table by the window because I had heard they had beautiful views. The person taking the reservation said that would be no problem. We were taken to a table in the middle of the room and when I asked about my request for a table by the window, she said there weren't any, and the windows were too high anyway to see out. There is no ambiance ... VERY high ceilings and was VERY noisy. We could barely hear our guests. To top it off, we were seated next to a table of 10 very noisy people celebrating a birthday party. Parking lot was full and I had to park in the ovreflow lot. I saw this as a good sign since so many were there. Enjoyed lunch with 2 friends on the patio. An utter disappointment! We went to sample their happy hour menu items and left there feeling like we'd entered their unhappy hour. Sparing the gory details, suffice it to say, that the lovely scenery cannot possibly make up for the lousy attitudes and bad training of the wait staff. The support staff had more customer service savvy than the three wait persons we encountered. The only time that our wait person hustled, was when she saw us get up and leave; she was clearly afraid that we'd stiffed her for the meal and wanted to be in a position to catch us if we had. On a more positive note: If you're over seventy, in a party of four or more, not a person of color, and wear Rolex, your experience will be far different! read more

Had dinner here the other night. It was slow, more than likely because it is summer out here in the desert. I found it for online and attended because of the reviews. The food was awesome! Pricing was very good. Great wine list with some good labels on there and great pricing on them. Servers were great. Had Laura and Lucia as our servers, (Both came by to check on us) and they were very friendly. We could see the manager working behind the bar with other customers but made his way to us around entrees to check on us. Very nice guy and can tell he knows his food, forgot his name though. (Tall guy with glasses). I had Short Rib Roast which was amazing and my date had the Jade Pesto Sea Bass which she said was amazing! Not going to lie, dessert was a bit off. Would have ranked 5 stars if there was Flourless Chocolate Cake on the menu. We did see their Happy Hour menu which is good, but for a couple bucks more, just come for dinner and not have to deal with a bar full of loud locals. read more

The food here is seriously amazing! I met a friend here for dinner and was blown away by the food and excellent service. We started the dinner with a Mongolian Beef salad and the pan seared Scallops. Both were amazing but my favorite was the beef. It had an orange sauce on it which really set the dish off. For dinner I ordered the Sea Bass and my friend had the Lamb Ribs. I cannot say enough good things about either of these entrees!! We finished up with a chocolate cheesecake that had the perfect mixture of spice and sweet. We are so happy to have used Bellatrix as the location for our daughters wedding day lunch. After a simple civil ceremony, 16 of us headed over to The Classic where our photographer was allowed to take stunning photos throughout the grounds, inside and out. The staff was A+++ and made our celebration run like it was all orchestrated to a perfect plan. Everyone ordered what they wanted and each and every one of us LOVED our meal. And it was so reasonable!We were never rushed and always made to feel welcome and blessed. Hats off to the chef and the whole staff! The decor as you enter and throughout the place is great. A very friendly greeting as we walked in. We were seated right away, even though we arrived about 25 minutes early. Our menu was limited because it was Valentines day, but the food was excellent. My wife and I both had the fillet. Tender and tasty, but mine was a bit over cooked. It is hard to find a steak place that will cook a steak how I like, because I like it Rare. Most places will make it medium rare and call it rare. My wife likes it medium rare so it was perfect for her. We had some kind of nutty-fruity salad with some type of vinaigrette dressing. Fantastic! The fresh bread was so good we almost filled up on it before dinner was even started. That is one of our weaknesses, fresh baked bread, or rolls in this case. Desert was ok. Some kind of pie like thing shaped into a heart atop a heart shaped shortbread cookie with whip cream on top. My only real complaint was the length of time it took and the lack of attention. They would have made a lot more money if the waitress had come around more often and kept my glass full. As it was I sat there thirsty for half the evening. The time it took between courses was very unusual considering it was not made to order. A prefix menu with only two options for starter as well as only two options for a main course and only 2 options for desert suggest to me that there is not a lot of work involved to prepare the meal. I could see a delay if the place was packed, but it was just over 3/4 full at any one time so don't understand the time involved. We were not in any hurry I just think that 15 to 20 minutes between courses is a bit long to wait. For the people who partake I. Adult beverages I had a vodka martini up and little dirty, which means no ice and a little bit of olive juice in it. It was one of the best I've had. Our overall experience was good. We are going to go back on a regular night and try their normal menu to see how it is. read more

I had high hopes for this meal when I opened the menu and found it beautifully written with some interesting dishes, but was disappointed after all was said and done. Steaks were small and covered with a strange brown sauce and listed as Prime but tasted like much lesser quality. Salads were dry and so called Heirloom tomatoes were underripe. Service was friendly and quick but all staff seemed to go home around 8 pm leaving only a busser sweeping and our waitress who had to be called to present check. Had a gift cert for this occaison but won't go back unless it's for Happy Hour which seems to have good prices for food. Wine list was good but prices very high for this area. read more

Our family of five was visiting the area and read good reviews about this restaurant on Yelp so we decided to try it out. Wish we hadn't. The food was very mediocre. My husband and I ordered the short ribs because the server told us they were fall-off-the-bone delicious. Ha! The meat was somewhat tender, but there's no way the meat we got was short ribs. This was just a big piece of chuck. (I'm an experienced cook so trust me that I'm not wrong about this.) Hubby ordered a chocolate "gateau" for dessert and I ordered a caramel cheesecake. The cheesecake was passable, but the chocolate cake wasn't very good . Service was poor and prices were high. Although not everything about our dining experience was bad (the salads were good and the buffet was OK - they gave us a 50% discount for our kids) I wouldn't go back. read more

The water fountain and walking in thru the doors of this golf course resort leave you with an impression of elegant, classy, and upscale. The restaurant matches the impression you receive when you walk in. We went for lunch and we were not disappointed at all. Marlene was our server and suggested some times but also informed us that everything was delicious. There was 4 of us and we all ordered different items and she was right. I met friends here for lunch during the week. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, comfortable and offers fantastic views of the golf course and hills beyond. Our server was very courteous and did an exceptional job in taking care of us. She seemed to know the perfect time to greet us, take our beverage orders, food orders and check on us without disrupting our group conversation. Several of us had the Cobb salad; the greens were very fresh and crisp and overall it was excellent. Another in the group ordered the Mango salad and said it was delicious as well. Great out of the busy hwy restaurant! Wonderful Conn Valley Wine dinner. Walk in and they gave you a glass of wine and were serving appetizers. Then great food and nice pours on the wines. We eat 20 times a year at Roy's and Mastro's and love there food, but have been very disappointed the last few wine dinners. Wine dinners used to be about food and wine, but it seems it is about money and most wine dinners they do not even try and sell their wine. The $300 U spend drinking a little not to good wine to get to there good cab, you should just have a great dinner and order a bottle. Check this place out and Steak house at Spot Light 29. In case U did not know ! Jimmy Schmidt ( Rattle Snake Detroit fame opened one in Spot light and left for the Classic Club ( Bellitrix now). Still big in Las Vegas and Detroit but long gone from the desert ! Worth the drive to try both places for dinner and the best wine dinners . I just want to say; i know that the restaurant business is tough. I knew there would be a day when I didn't agree with my fellow "Yelpers." First off, when we walked in the restaurant, there was one other table of people eating, which sort of surprised me as I was unable to make a reservation any later than 7:15 . So, we sit down, in the middle of the room, not by a window or even on a banquet, but the middle. Okay, I guess if it's where you want us. We started off with the beet salad. Two pieces of mealy tomatoes and maybe 1/2 cup of diced too soft beets, along with an abundance of thick cut red onion. Not a stellar start. I order the hanger steak, my husband, the halibut on an avocado pancake. Sounds promising, no? Well, his fish is dry, the pancake is dry and there's no variance in flavor, sweet, upon sweet, upon sweet. So, he sent it back and got the monkfish instead. Much better. Loved the classy room and the martini, but the food can use some improvement. Our server Natalie did a good job, but she's not the cook. A companion and I tried the short rib....nice presentation but the meat was dry. Ditto the salmon, according to another diner. We have dined here on several occasions; every time outstanding. Tonight, our anniversary dinner was amazing. The restaurant manager, Ruan, is always helpful and very attentive. He always takes the time to come to our table to make sure our dining experience is perfect. This fabulous restaurant offers inside and outside dining and is very classy without being fussy. The views are amazing and they have a delicious dinner menu with a variety of of choices. The rolls are yummy and they desserts are over the top. They go out of their way to accomodate their guests. Bellatrix has an extensive wine selection and the servers are very knowledgeable about wines they serve. Bellatrix also offers specials, wine pairing dinners, and even happy hours. The 3 for $30.00 dinner can't be beat! The prices are super reasonable. Love this place! The servers are always friendly and check in frequently during our meal to see if we need anything and to make sure we are happy. And we are!
