We had no destination in mind but saw Solano's and decided to give it a try. We go there now at least 3 times a month and have never been disappointed!! The Chef/owner is incredible. When you enjoy a dish there and want to have it again rest assured it is the same fabulous taste as your initial time! We have had steaks, pastas, salads ,, pizza and wines and I have loved every dish I tried. The short ribs are luscious . My favorite salad is the beet salad. Always so fresh and so many flavors in one salad! The Pork Chop is excellent too. It's difficult to find a Chef who can get a pork chop just right. This chef nails it everytime!! There is a little area with high top tables Where one can catch a ball game and also one tv in one of the eating areas but they are not at all intrusive. There typically not many children when we are there but when they have been they have been well mannered at very young ages and they make dining fun! I have no negatives which is highly unusual for me (just ask my husband!!)wonderful overall experience. If you want a bit more time between courses just tell your waiter. Got reservations on Open table, spent an hour trying to call. Recording listed hours and days open. Drove all the way out there to see they were closed. Thanks for the recording in your phone not mentioning that small detail. Apparently this is your thing because I now see a review saying the same thing from 3 years ago! It has been a long while since I reviewed one of my favorite restaurants. We eat here many times and it usually never disappoints tonight we had three fish dishes, which were excellent all around $36 . The mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries, salad, and all three fishes were excellent. The only thing that was just OK was the risotto but we were all three very happy with our meals. We also loved our server, Roy, who was prompt and cheerful. Now they have happy hour almost every night! So your cocktails will be reasonable. I think they said Monday through Friday happy hour all night but I'm not sure so please check. This is just a summer deal so I'm not sure how long it will last. read more

Had a great dinner here tonight all around. Food was delicious - loved the salad, wings, and pizza. I did not try to gazpacho but my friend said it was good. Service was fast, professional, and pleasant. I asked for a few extra items and they got them with a smile and made me feel treated. Ambiance is fancy restaurant, intimate seating and art on walls. This place is a solid 4-star spot when it comes to food and Ambience is quite and clean. -- but the service pushes it to a 5! David was outstanding -- warm, attentive, and made some spot-on recommendations that really elevated our experience. The fish tacos were a highlight -- perfectly crisp with great flavor. Pesto pasta was also tasty, and while the pizza could have been a bit better, it was still enjoyable. Drinks were well-made and hit the spot. It's rare to find a place where the people make such a difference, but Solano's is definitely one of them. Because of the great staff and genuine service, I'm happy to call this a 5/5 experience. He made me laugh a bit. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It's a very laid back environment with sports playing on the tv at the bar. We stopped for a quick meal on our way to Phoenix. Conveniently located near the 10 freeway. Lots of parking. It was a Wednesday so the restaurant wasn't full. I'm sticking with my 4 stars but I'm close to dropping to 3. Food was good. Pork chops were a bit on the boring side but cooked well. I do have two "wishes" - stop with the fast paced service. I'm not looking to gulp down a salad and a main course in 30 minutes. Let the diners relax. I know I know turning tables means more money - but these days dining out is so expensive that we want to actually enjoy it as an event rather than a speed race. Also the young lady busing the tables should know she matters and makes a difference in the dining experience. She was prompt but that's where it stopped. I was very pleasantly surprised! The description had it as more of a "bar-ish grill" but the food was FANTASTIC and so was the service!! The staff are very attentive and always checking on the table as well as filling all drinks! Had the artichoke appetizer which was great and well cooked, the wedge salad was great with their tasty blue cheese dressing, and the fish tacos were the perfect main to follow. The most reasonable items on the menu are the pizzas. I ordered a Margarita with added artichoke hearts and kamalata olives. It was delicious and enough for 2 people it one very hungry one. Their pasta is fairly pricey, but my friends enjoyed it. It's a lively place with good energy. read more

This is my second review of this place. We still shared the beet salad...my partner still had the butternut squash ravioli. Tonight, I had the NY Strip with the whisky sauce...ERMAHGERD. I came to Solanos to celebrate a dear friend's bday while in Palm Springs. I will say that the service we received from David the second we walked in was amazing. As for the food, we were a party of six and for the most part, we all liked our food. The buffalo Mac n cheese was overhyped. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either and definitely lacked that buffalo spice/flavor. I enjoyed the linguine with bolognese. It could've had a little more sauce and spice. And I would like actual garlic bread to be served with it. read more

The ambient if the place is nice. The bar is separate from the restaurant part and it is nicely decorated, although my wife thought it was strange that they had a screen showing pictures of the food. The food was up and down. My short ribs were nice: tender with a tasty sauce. The Salmon pasta and salads were all average. I thought the salmon was too sweet. The salads were meh. The steak had a nice sauce and sides, but came out closer to medium after we ordered it rare. That's pretty bad! The service was fine up to that point. We hadn't been to Solano's since they were in La Quinta. Their old location was awesome, including their bar area. I was a little apprehensive about this location, since I had visited this site before when it was another restaurant. Well, let's wipe the slate clean because a group of eight had a fantastic dinner last night. The reservation we set at 5PM was due to it being Valentine's and the concert we would be attending later on. We were greeted and seated almost immediately, as we arrived right on time. After scanning the menu, we decided on adult beverages first. My wife and I had the Prickly Pear Margarita with Jalapenos. (Sweet/Tangy/Spicy) It was great. For our entrees, I had the Short Ribs with Risotto & Green Beans while my better half selected the Chicken Marsala. Both were excellent but when I gave her a morsel, she was amazed by the tenderness. The other orders included Thai Salmon/Blackened Salmon/New York Steaks. Everyone was SUPER impressed with their dishes. We also brought in two bottles of wine which they uncorked for $20 each. (Not on their menu) The service we received from Francisco was over the top, even though we became a little boisterous after the alcohol kicked in. I was thanked for arranging the meal here and we all had the most divine time. We will definitely return, now that my ambivalence has been obliterated. read more
