I have been to Bellatrix twice since it opened this season. Food has definitely improved, although the menu is still limited. Service is great. However, my only complaint was the bartender and his "friend" or an off duty employee (I'm not sure) were too loud talking at the bar. It was super loud it was very bothersome. The best steak in the valley , Wagyu filet was AMAZING ... the crab ceviche, and all the appetizers were the most delicious delicacies... the ambience and the service one of the best too. I'd heard about this place from fellow yelpers. The reviews were great and you can buy a $80 Groupon for $50. They are located on a golf course, which is pretty spectacular....the driveway in, the grounds and building is nicely done with landscape and lights. Parking is a breeze, super big lot. We arrived earlier than our reservation and hit the bar....happy hour! During the week the restaurant is not that busy that you would need reservations....but just in case we did. We started off with a ceaser salad for my wife and I went for a poki tar tar....both were very good and I recommend the poki. Also ordered another drink went with an old fashioned and it was awesome! Our entrées were grilled salmon on a bed of jade risotto and seasoned vegetables....truly a great dish and loved it. The wife had the 7 oz filet with augratin potatoes and seasoned vegetables. I tasted it and it to was really good. Once again we were to full for dessert....lol Definitely a try if you're in Palm Springs. Bellatrix is a wonderful restaurant located right on the Classic Club Golf Course. Employees greet you upon arrival and everyone is outgoing and friendly. The wait staff is prompt, courteous, and friendly. The food is great, and the view is amazing. We sat outside on the patio overlooking the waterfalls and golf course, it was a majestic site. Our waitress was super friendly and outgoing. The louie salad came with fresh greens, three large shrimp, and crab claws. It was delicious! Drinks are reasonably priced. You can get an IPA for $5.00. If you are golfing they give you $15.00 food/beverage vouchers. If you are using Troon points you don't receive a towel or gift card. I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you are golfing or not. It is great! read more

Took a day trip to Palm Springs - was looking for a nice restaurant with a pretty view - Bellatrix fit the bill. We didn't really have high expectations - we were just happy to enjoy the warm sunshine and lovely golf course view. Well, wow, our food was fabulous. Their complimentary bread was delicious and the olive tapenade they serve it with was so good we bought some to take home. I had the salmon/goat cheese salad and my husband had the Japanese cod. Fish was cooked perfectly and the dishes as a whole were just perfect - so so yummy. We also got fries (didn't want to be too healthy with all that fish) - just the way I like them - warm and crispy. We went for Happy Hour in the bar at 5pm only to find out it was from 3-5pm. The 3 of us stayed and had drinks and very good bar food ( rather expensive) but still good. I will go again and maybe try dinner. Service very courteous and prompt. I would suggest they change the Happy Hour time to a bit later. read more

Beautiful location sitting next to the waterfall with amazing views of shadow hills. Quiet and serene location perfect for a Sunday brunch. Robin was an excellent server and was on top I've everything definitely the face of bellatrix . The blackened chicken Caesar salad was excellent my complements to the culinary team. Oh how I was looking forward to checking out the AYCE prime rib dinner on Thursday. When I arrived around 7:00 pm it was busy and I was seated within five minutes. I'm not a huge fan of buffets due to the lack of quality but who doesn't like tasty AYCE prime rib... My waitress took a while getting over to me, actually I helped myself to a field of greens salad and then she arrived and apologized. The salad was nice with sides of purple onions, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and several choices of dressings to choose from, dinner rolls were brought to the table warm, chewy and tasty. I went back to the buffet and the choices were smoke salmon soup, corn on the Cobb, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, salmon, hot veggies and of course prime rib carved to your choice. My verdict sides were decent and the prime rib OVERCOOKED and no choices of rare to medium rare. I tried two cuts from different offerings and the result the same. There's nothing worse then overcooking beef and that's what took place that evening. Dessert here is included and I tried the tiny slices of cheesecake and chocolate cake - the chocolate cake tasted like it was frozen and thawed out and had a slight taste of freezer burn - yuck! My waitress arrived later with the check and asked how dinner was and I let her know about the prime rib and she apologized about the overcooked meat and said there' are better places to have prime rib in the desert and I should try their regular dinner menu. Wow, that came out of nowhere, oh now I feel much better! WTH. If I ever came back to Bellatrix if would not be for the AYCE prime rib buffet at $26.00 I can get a better quality meal without the negative lip service. read more

My wife and I ate here during our January 2024 trip to Palm Desert. We have eaten here before and were excited to come back. This time, however, the food was not as good. My wife started with a Caesar salad. This was not fresh. I had a Bellatrix salad which was fresh and I enjoyed it. For her main course my wife had a half rack of lamb. The lamb was cooked ok but was lacking in spices so it tasted bland. I had the braised short rib. The portion was generous and came with a mushroom sauce, spinach and mashed potatoes. I thought this was good, although again under flavored. My food came out warm but not hot. We had a very attentive server. Given how much we liked the food here last year, we were disappointed that it was not up to the same level as previous years. read more

Just went and the food was really really good! Mom said it was the best Cobb salad she's had and my dad really liked the Reuben. I got the Turkey Bacon Avocado Cheddar (replaced Swiss with Cheddar) grilled sandwich which was really good--a lot of meat but I took a little off and gave it to my dad to eat. We arrived 3:30pm on a Sunday and the bar was full of loud rowdy golfers and we were told that Happy Hour is only Tues-Friday. Still hungry we agreed to the regular menu but asked if we could sit adjacent to the loud bar, we were told NO. We had no option but to leave. I expected more. read more

We will never go back to this place again. They have outdoor seating and they don't allow your dog to sit outside while you eat.

Wine Expo 10/19/24. An out of town friend and I were really looking forward to the Wine Expo. We had a great time trying new wines and the appetizers were quite good. The servers and wine reps were friendly and professional. So, what went wrong? When my friend filled out the order form and presented her credit card for payment, no receipt was offered. This concerned her as there are so many problems with fraud these days. A manager was summoned and he was rude and condescending. Fast forward to the following Wednesday. The only pick-up instructions we were given was to pick up the order on Wed at the club. Since she doesnt live here, I went to pick up the wine. I talked to another manager who was less than friendly. "No, the wine hasn't arrived. Did you receive a phone call?". "No, we were not told they would call when the order was received. We were only told to pick up the order on Wednesday." So, I left empty handed. My friend finally got a call last week that the order could be picked up, and since she was coming to town for another event this last weekend, she went to the Classic Club (out of her way) to pick up the wine. When we opened the cases of wine at my house, the WHITE wine she ordered was actually RED wine from the same winery. She made a call to the manager and left a message 5 days ago and no reply yet. What we hoped would be an annual event has been tainted by rude and non-responsive club management and sloppy inventory management. DISAPPOINTING. read more

We had an amazing dinner last night. I had Rack of Lamb and husband had the Chilean Sea Bass and the presentation rivaled any 5 star restaurant. Moreover, both were delicious. Service was excellent. The Happy Hour menu is ample for dinner as well. Prices are so reasonable and they also have a Prix Fixe dinner going on now that includes wine and dessert. Went to lunch here for the second time. This time was with my Mom. I warned her ahead of time that it could be a while for service but the view from the patio and the quality of the food were worth it. I was right. Hostess service and manager follow up were super quick and pleasant. Service in the bar was lackluster and predictably slow. We had decided to eat in the bar area because the patio was too cold for my Mom even though the heaters were blasting. It really is okay because it gave us time to speak. Food was awesome! read more

Bellatrix has always been one of our favorite restaurants but I was very disappointed with the food tonight. They no longer have happy hour or any of the appetizers or menu items that we have come to enjoy. We had the corn appetizer which was out of a can and a poor excuse for street corn, short rib tacos that barely had any meat on them and Spanish Shrimp with French bread. The shrimp were gummy and the bread was somewhat stale. With all the choices of great restaurants in the valley, we won't dine at Bellatrix again unless they make a drastic change to the menu! read more

Great Mother's Day buffet. Ambiance was really nice. The kids felt a bit intimidated at first but the staff were so warm and friendly. They perked right up and really enjoyed the buffet options. The patio overlooking the golf course is beautiful. Will likely try it for lunch or dinner on a separate occasion. This is the reason for not the full 5 stars. Food was delicious. I took my family here for a nice dinner and everything was exceptional, from the wine, to the starter, the entree and don't get me started on the service of which was second to none. We arrived a little late and felt we might get the old hurry along of which couldn't have been any further from the truth. All the food is soooo damn good. I have loved this spot for so many years, so it pains me to say how bad it is now. There were a total of 3 tables in the whole restaurant occupied. The waitress and manager were very nice but the entire experience wasn't good. The appetizers were tasty. But the entrees were very small and two of us had the cod and it was not good. Very fishy and unappealing. Not to mention this weird chicken liver pate that was terrible with the bread (and we normally love pate). 20 min of our dinner was marred by a tree trimming below where they trimmed & then put the tree through a wood chipper. So loud! To the manager's credit, he got them to stop when we asked- but I felt bad for the restaurant because how can they possibly operate like that? The menu and food were not great. We won't go back and that makes me sad. They need a new chef and if they need to cut costs, just make something where you can serve more food that tastes good, even if it's not boogie. read more
