They're not the lowest price, nor are they the highest. They had many useful things, and some wonderfully fanciful items. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. My friend Ivy stopped by and was so excited. "you MUST go", and so I did. This is a fun little corner store, with a well curated mix of art, small housewares, handbags and then the real star, costume jewelry. Their collection is very good, lots of variety, pins, rings, necklaces, bracelets, rhinestones, metal, stones, and so on. It's a vintage jewelry lover's paradise. I speak with some authority as a bona fide lifelong lover of vintage costume jewelry. The owners are super nice, friendly but not overbearingly so. Prices are fair, this is not a thrift shop, so don't expect to see a cool pin for 50 cents. I picked up a gorgeous pheasant rhinestone and colored stone pin for $15 for example, and a lovely art glass vase for $50. Parking is alongside the building off Landover Road, easy to get in and out of. I may go broke here, but I will be a happy broke person.

If you are furnishing your shore house (as I am) or going for the cottage/shabby chic look, this is the place in the 'burbs. The prices at Vintage home are so reasonable. They (the three ladies that own it) buy quality "vintage" stuff - not necessarily antiques, but think stuff from the '40s-'60s, and paint them white. I bought an incredible oversized carved mirror and it was only $200, a good sized antique french style linen press for $400, and a pair of french style bedside tables for $300. All are solid wood and very good quality pieces. For the price, it's not even worth hunting and hunting for decent quality furniture at yard sales, etc and then painting it yourself. These ladies have done all the work for you. Their prices are so low that they don't negotiate - and the stuff flies out of the store. They won't hold anything over the weekend since there is such turnover of their inventory, so if you see something you want, buy it. Have your measurements in hand because if you go home to measure someone else will scoop it up (as I did with the linen press. ;-) ) If you are looking for something in particular, you can give your name and they'll do the hunting for you. They don't take Amex and are closed on Mondays. I'll be back Tuesday for round 3....
