Our wedding was at 4pm in April so the sun overpowered our photos. From the planning (thanks Alexa), to the day of, including execution everything was on-point and effortless. My guests were just as happy as I was. They asked, "where did you find this place?". Both the day-off manager and barista were AWESOME.

When my now husband and I visited The Lodge for the first time, we knew this is where we wanted to get married. We loved that it was a completely open venue and we could use any caterer, bartender, florist, etc. that we wanted to use. They also offered a day of coordinator. Brandy was my day of coordinator, and she was awesome! She kept us on time and made sure we did everything we wanted. My florist didn't leave my toss bouquet so she picked flowers from their garden for me! She was awesome!!! Why the 3 stars? Everything between when I have them my payment to when Brandy took over was not fun. Before booking, we were constantly in contact with Holly. She answered our calls, she met with us, etc. Once I have them the payment, she went completely ghost. She never returned or phone calls and barely returned our emails. Maybe something was going on in her life, but she should have told us to contact someone else. We literally drove to the site unannounced so that we could talk to someone. The staff there was extremely friendly, including Holly when we could talk to her. They always accommodated us when we showed up, but it was stressful due to the lack of communication. Overall the experience was positive, and the venue is gorgeous! I hope with a several more months under their belt as a wedding venue will help them with the lack of communication issues.

From the beginning we (bride and groom) fell absolutely in love with this building and the grounds. However, being from out of town it is a little hard to find as the venue is not well marked and actually sits on the land for the YMCA. It also functions as the Nelson Andrews Leadership Lodge which led to some confusion at times. We worked with Kayla for 15 months planning every detail of our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, indoor reception, and sparkler send-off. Needless to say on the day-of, a late bus pickup and poor weather basically sent our plans into chaos and Kayla worked very hard to give us an equally beautiful event from what we had planned. She really held it all together, and held me together too! The Lodge works only with Dream Events catering, and at first we weren't thrilled to receive this news. However, Kayla and her team made sure Dream knew about our concerns and when we were able to meet with them, they were sure to go above and beyond for some dietary needs, and the many changes that occurred. Since this was a destination wedding, Kayla helped me to select a vendor for rental items, and then she managed the relationship for me, which I appreciated as well. I am thankful that The Lodge selected such reliable partners for us to work with, another example of how well this venue is managing their business. Overall we did have some ups and downs but we are so thrilled with our friends at the Lodge, and can't wait to receive our wedding pictures back. We highly recommend this venue.

This place is like no other i have ever seen, not in Nashville or anywhere else. Its an old home in the historic part of East Nashville. So its got a lot of character to it, you can shoot IG photoshoots for weeks in this place. The study is my favorite room... Just look up and check out the hand carved crown molding. It would lost $100,000 today. The wedding i went to there was amazing! It was outside there was so much room for all of us to hang and enjoy the beauty of the place. I'm originally from California, so when ever I come here I appreciate the beauty, the rooms, the landscape and most importantly the closeness to everything! Downtown is literally a beautiful 15 minute walk away and if you're not interested in walking Uber or Lyft is totally doable and worth it because everyone is friendly here. Also there is a cute and delicious cafe walking distance and yoga studio. I love staying here at East Ivy the mansion itself is gorgeous and you wouldn't think of it if you were looking from the outside. There are koi ponds, water fountains, beautiful Japanese trees and a huge pool that is 16 feet deep and the chandeliers, OMG are amazing! This location is beautiful for a gala, wedding, a party you name it! But I have yet been here for a wedding, but I can't wait!!!

They served us delicious appetizers, including mini hot chicken bites, cheeseburger sliders, chicken sliders, mini grilled cheese, and these little skewers with mozzarella, basil, and tomato. The bartenders were very friendly and efficient. They didn't have a huge selection, and the drinks were a little high-priced, although comparable to other places downtown. I liked that the bar was accessible from both inside and outside, and both the indoor and outdoor areas were welcoming and comfortable. They had comfortable couches to relax on as well as tables that you could stand at in order to have a conversation. The only complaint I had was that they ran out of food less than halfway through our event. I'm not sure if that was entirely their fault, though; we were a huge group (~200 people) and were very hungry! I would definitely like to come back here again, although I'm not sure when that will be since it is not open to the public and is only reserved for private events. Maybe I'll get lucky and know someone who has their wedding reception there or something!

Apparently it used to be open on Sunday's, but that was before my time. It is now a clean lined, beautiful private venue overlooking Broadway. I attended a good friend's wedding reception there this past weekend and was excited to wander my way to the rooftop. Security was great, the bar staff was excellent and I truly enjoyed the view. It was nice to have your own private oasis on Broadway while looking down at the hustle and bustle of the Honky Tonk scene. Since this space is mostly an open-air patio, I was a little nervous about the weather. The glassed-in room with couches was cute though. Although not a huge space, I would definitely recommend Aerial for smaller, more intimate parties.

Everything was managed to perfection by the wedding planner. We had a personal issue towards the end of the night and the wedding planner jumped in, sleeves rolled up, and handled it with us like she was family. She went way above and beyond, and when I thanked her and complimented her, she said simply, "It's what I do" with a big smile. Sarah made everything stress free. She was planner, organizer, counselor, cheerleader, sister, friend and magician. We had the time of our lives.

I want to share my experience as a Drakewood bride…read more Initial meeting: My introduction to Drakewood Farm was an absolute dream. I was shown around and I instantly connected with my host. Her energy and excitement throughout the entire tour made me excited and I could truly picture myself getting married there. Six months before wedding: The planning meeting. My fiancé and I met with our assigned wedding coordinators. This was a seamless experience. We felt heard and they knew exactly when to jump in and support us with decision making. This two hour meeting felt like five minutes because we were having such an enjoyable time planning the most important day of our lives. We left the meeting feeling extremely excited and ready to go. They also assured us they were able to make changes, talk through any worries or add to our original plan. We could email or call any time! After this meeting I was able to communicate any small changes, detail questions, or concerns via email. They were quick to respond and instantly made changes to our planning sheet as requested. This entire process was seamless and I was never left hanging. Two weeks before the wedding: I sent an email that was left unanswered for several days. I finally received a response from the owners, not the coordinators who I had been communicating with since day one. Then the owners began asking me questions that had been gone over in detail in our planning meeting. Instant red flags started popping up. I sent another email asking why I was no longer communicating with my coordinator. I received the response: "when you sign with Drakewood you sign with our team as a whole." This is completely reasonable, but not a single person introduced themselves or offered any sort of explanation as to why I was all of the sudden moved from one person to the owner. The owner, assured me that I would be working with her most experienced coordinator and that she herself would be supporting us the day of our wedding. Frankly I wish the owner had not been there. Day of: The owner did not once welcome me to the venue or introduce herself. The groomsmen, father of the groom and the groom were unloading cars due to no staff there to help. They stacked bar stock in the venue. They were even asked to move the bigger boxes behind the bar once they were already placed inside, to which my husband responded "you can have your staff move them to the correct location. We are here to celebrate our wedding not work for you." The owner had no clue what was going on and was walking around asking questions that had been gone over when I was working with my original coordinators. This was extremely unprofessional and very upsetting. During the rehearsal, the owner told everyone how they would walk in when we had already explained how we had planned to do it. She said we don't usually do it this way and was met with my mother and sister telling her this is how the bride wants it done. Finally an experienced coordinator showed up who actually had her act together. I am absolutely positive if she had not shown up, our day would have been a disaster and a complete disappointment. This coordinator was professional, dressed appropriately for a wedding (unlike the owner who walked around in a bright pink T-shirt for the entire day) and made sure to check in and keep me in the loop from start to finish. They were completely understaffed and it was evident. I am grateful for my new coordinator and all of her help. She truly pulled the entire day together and turned it around. I would hope that in the future, the owner would make sure to communicate with the bride and the families when big changes happen. The entire staff that I worked with leading up to the day was no longer there and I was left in the dark until I started asking questions. This is not how any bride should feel especially when you are spending a LARGE amount of money. In the end we had a beautiful day surrounded by everyone we love! Shout out to our photographer Alyssa Flake who made sure to keep the energy high and was just an absolute dream to work with! Some key moments that I will give Drakewood major kudos for: -Our new coordinator actually did have her act together and I'm glad she was able to step in and make my day come together -The florals were out of this world beautiful! (Although they forgot to give the men boutonnieres so most of our photos have no florals for the men) -The table settings looked incredible (we picked them out but they were executed properly) -The DJ was great and communicated with us in a very timely manner -Food was great, cake was awesome -The setting is stunning and everyone could not stop talking about how beautiful it was

Southall Meadows ruined my wedding, made my bridal party cry right before the ceremony, and caused…read moreme to need therapy to recover from the trauma they caused me. PLEASE view the photos I've shared to see how horrible, penny-pinching this place is. Impressed by all the 5-star reviews? They make you sign a contract saying you'll only give them a 5-star. They claim to be "an open vendor venue." But in multiple areas, they penalize you hundreds for not using their preferred vendors. It was cheaper for me to pay their $800 penalty AND hire my own two bartenders to provide the same service than to use the ones Southall tries to force on you. Their preferred rental company was so expensive that I had to DIY my decor because I couldn't afford another $400 penalty. In the walkthrough, they say chairs are included. But "if you need them for the ceremony too," they charge an extra $350. They gave me a price sheet, then increased the DJ fee by $500 a week later. What could warrant a random 39% increase? If you or guests leave something at the venue by accident, they forbid you from coming back to get it. We left a whole table here and were so anxious they'd keep our $750 security deposit that we didn't even ask for it back. The contract says the Security Deposit will be refunded within 30 days of the event, but we didn't get it back until we emailed them multiple times past the 30 days. They make you pay for meals for THEIR staff. It's standard for other vendors, but I worked in the wedding industry for 3 years and never once saw the VENUE make the bride pay for multiple meals. I didn't rent their $500 optional tables. So they shoved all the furniture I didn't rent beside the barn and tried to hide them with the open barn door. This was so humiliating as ALL my guests walked past and had to see this carnage during my ceremony. Completely unacceptable. You can't arrive until 10 AM. In all the weddings I've worked, the bridal party could arrive at 7-8 AM. The late, strict start time made us so rushed and stressed. If you arrive before 10 AM, they charge you $150 for every 15 minutes you are early. The most catastrophic failure was that their DJ (DJ Pete) played the wrong song THREE times to start our ceremony. He panicked when he realized it was the wrong song and stopped it so my grandma and brother had to walk down in SILENCE, started the wrong song again so the parents had no choice but to walk down, then played the wrong song again for the bridal party. It was so chaotic that my sister was crying, the entire party was upset, and I had to physically get out of my own wedding lineup to show him what to play. I fought not to have a complete meltdown, but the anguish shows on my face in all the photos/videos that I spent $6k on. I blacked out from stress during the ceremony and don't remember the union with my sweet husband, which is by FAR the most hurtful part of all the ways Southall sabotaged my wedding. I can't look at our photos or talk about the wedding without crying, and I am in therapy to cope. I cried on my wedding night and honeymoon the next week. I asked Southall for DJ reimbursement and help with what I lost on photo/video- and they told me the DJ's unpreparedness was all my fault. Imagine hearing a song with your parents while they're in town for your wedding that brings you all to tears- so much that you want it in your wedding. So you send the change to the DJ the night prior & he agrees, but ultimately can't swap out one song. If an 8-year seasoned DJ can't accommodate ONE song change 13 hours before showtime, they have bigger problems. I've seen successful song changes 15 minutes before a ceremony. Yet- the venue used my one change to shift the blame off of them for butchering our wedding. Southall ruined the happiest day of my life and showed no remorse for what they did because brides are business transactions to them. Including an email from them for when they reply to this and try to paint me in a bad light and pin their failures on me instead of owning their mistakes.

The grounds are just beautiful, with so many different options for ceremonies and have the ability to spread out between the land and the buildings. Our DJ experience was fantastic! It was the party we wanted from day one. Our signature drinks were amazing and their BYOB service is top notch. We even got a refunded for left over alcohol. Such a win. Southall Meadows really cared about our experience from the very beginning by pointing us in the direction of really good vendors that took care of everything to making sure we did not lift a finger on wedding day. It really is awesome to see a small business put on such a beautiful production and we could not be more excited to tell everyone about it! If I didn't know where to start with wedding this is exactly where I would go.
