The summary of my review: my lips look amazing, but i unfortunately don't feel comfortable going back. This is a review for a lip filler service done in April. It was my first time trying this, and i was excited/nervous. I booked my appt online about a month prior and signed up for the cherry payment plan. I showed up and Sheila was very welcoming and answered all my questions. I felt at ease. My service was done and yes, it was uncomfortable but not unbearable. She had a great touch, and i loved the results immediately. The time came to pay and this is where things took a turn. I said i was using the cherry app and her behavior towards me completely changed. She said there was an $800 minimum to use it (my service was $700), but she was like "it's ok, I'll let it slide this time". But it was obviously NOT ok. Nowhere on the website was there a minimum mentioned. I had even called and left a message asking for more info about the cherry app and how i planned to use it and not once did someone mention "hey, you're booked for a $700 service, just fyi that doesn't meet our minimum". I told her i felt like she was actually not ok with this. I told her i did technically have the amount on me and could pay in full, it was just easier for me financially to make a few payments. She said she had everything prepared to use cherry, and so i was like ok...well, I'll just take her word for it i guess. Sheila was shakey and not making eye contact, and when i asked about a few different procedures for possibly trying in the future she was very vague and basically just tossed some pamphlets on my purse. I was whisked out the door and Sheila mentioned in passing that she "essentially paid for my service today". Really?! I looked it up- cherry takes on any financial responsibility and pays the provider within 24 hrs. You got your money, Sheila. Not to mention i payed it off promptly. She had forgotten to take before pictures and prior to this payment fiasco had asked if i could text her some pics of my lips. When i left the appt i did so, and then trying to be nice and smooth anything over i apologized for any miscommunication and thanked her again for letting the transaction through anyways. She left me on seen. That whole interaction left me feeling like trash. Her 5 star reviews are warranted for her talent, but I'm really disappointed in how my service ended. It turned something exciting and pampering into an experience that was weird and confusing. read more

A family member of mine recommended Sheila to me when I was first interested in lip filler! I'm so glad I went with her recommendation because this was my first ever cosmetic procedure and I totally felt at ease. I see a comment regarding the check-in procedure but a lot of medical offices operate this way now because of COVID so not sure how having to check-in virtually is an issue? Also, the Cordata area is a nice area and like everywhere else Whatcom County also has an issue with homeless people and there is a new bus station located near the office but that does not take away from the professionalism of this clinic or Sheila's business. The clinic and procedure room are nice and clean definitely not sketchy at all! I have my 3rd appointment with Sheila today and will continue to see her for any future needs because she has made the experience so pleasant and not to mention how much I loved my lip fillers! I told Sheila what I wanted and she gave me exactly that and my fillers lasted the 12 months! I'm attaching photos of my before and after of my second appointment. I had a new patient appointment and ended up leaving after meeting Shilla Wafai, the owner-operator and sole employee of this company. I'm 44 years old and have been to a handful of medical aestheticians over the years. I've had a range of services from various injections, lasers, and peels. My point is that I'm not new to these types of services or clinics. The location of this place feels sketchy, I was worried about leaving my laptop in my trunk because it looked like the kind of place where a break-in could happen. It's near the the driver's license office in a big parking lot surrounded by strip malls with chain stores and franchises. I'm new to Bham, so maybe this was just my impression. Once I entered, I was instructed to text or call to inform someone of my arrival. I followed the signs that led me to one single chair in the hallway where I was instructed to wait. I could hear loud voices on the other side of the door and it felt strange. The door had a sign for Belle Medical, but it looked like something made at Kinkos. I was literally standing at a side door in the hallway. While I was waiting, an elderly man started walking toward me and asked if I was waiting in line for the driver's license office. I said no and redirected him, but it definitely felt like I was. Considering I was preparing to drop a minimum of $500+ on cosmetic services, this was not what you'd expect from an esteemed medical aesthetician. My appointment time passed and my text messages went unanswered. (I followed instructions to both text or call to alert the "reception" of my arrival). I headed out to my car in preparation to leave and I finally got a text back. I replied and said I was feeling uncomfortable and asked her to call. She called me back and we began to talk. I told her I had never had this type of experience where I had to wait in a hallway and not have a greeting upon my arrival. There wasn't even a bathroom in sight, which is totally weird for a medical clinic. Shilla was visibly irritated with me and said that she didn't have help and she was alone in her business. She said that she has extremely good yelp reviews and she didn't understand why I would be uncomfortable. I was honestly in a state of shock with her defensiveness. She asked me why I felt uncomfortable, but didn't allow me to respond and continued to say that many other clinics in Bellingham operate like this - where a "real medical clinic" has a room dedicated to cosmetic treatments. I tried to explain what I meant by my expectation of a clinic with a waiting room and she said she was feeling attacked by me. I couldn't believe she used the word "attacked" after I only said I was uncomfortable with the new patience procedure. She then continued to tell me that she and a doctor in-clinic were planning to open a spa and they were in the middle of renovating it and couldn't finish it due to COVID. Why would she act like she didn't understand me if she was in the middle of opening a spa? All I know is that being able to give feedback and state whether you are comfortable or not is a critical part of this relationship. Can you imagine ever being unhappy with a service by this "professional?" She wouldn't have the compassion or patience to ensure you are happy with your procedure. I've had injections done by another RN at a medical clinic and when I felt unhappy with something, that RN brought me back to correct or adjust my treatment with complementary services. Shilla Wafai appears to lack the basic professional competence to handle the services she claims to offer. A client should be allowed to say they are uncomfortable without getting accused of "attacking" the practitioner. That is absolutely absurd. Shilla Wafai frequently mentioned her positive online reviews and how I couldn't find a bad review on her. Only for this reason, I came here to leave a review to let others know how awful the new client experience was. I am still looking for a new provider. I just relocated to Bham and I'm reasonably concerned about who I trust to modify/enhance my face. I would classify Shilla Wafai in the medical aesthetician vulture category because I know there are many "RN professionals" who want to take a bite out of this cosmetic cash cow.
