We had a successful move thanks to Bellhop. We were scheduled to move at 8AM. The lead came early, around 7:50 AM to check out what we have. Then he created a plan of attack and got everything out of the house in about 2 hours. When we drove to our new house to unload, that was also quick and efficient. They really hustled and even put my king sized bed back together while others were still unloading. We were scheduled for 8 hours, but we finished in 4.8 hours thanks to how quick they were. The movers really hustled. They worked fast. When they move furniture they make sure to use moving pads and shrinkwrap them to protect everything. They know how to use that shrinkwrap. I always have trouble with them, but they can shrinkwrap stuff in seconds. When unloading they put the boxes neatly. They don't just throw them around. They seem to take good care of your items during load and unloading. The communication was great and everyone was friendly and hard working. I would highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. There were a few negatives. Calling them takes forever to get a hold of someone. You have to plan to wait at least 15 minutes when you call them. But once you get them on the phone they were courteous and great. Also, the movers couldn't fit everything in their truck. I gave them a detailed inventory, but they still couldn't fit everything. They were very efficient in loading and made sure every square inch of that truck was used. I guess it was partially my fault since I had so much junk. But I guess this was normal if you have too much stuff to haul out. Some of the movers even offered to put stuff in their car as well. A few tips if you are thinking of moving. This might help speed up the move and save a bit of money. They charge you by the hour so speed and efficiency counts. - Pack up everything in boxes and make sure they're all ready to go. I would even put them in the same area so they can load those boxes quick. - Disassemble any large furniture yourself (as well as reassembling). They can do it for you. If it's complex it might take a while. The time to disassemble comes out of the total hourly time. If you have furniture pads, use them and shrink wrap the furniture. - They don't encourage it, but you can help load and unload. - Make sure to include a detailed inventory for them before you contact them. They want an estimate of what you have. But having a full detailed inventory will help them figure out how many movers and size truck(s) they need. Of course, you don't need to do any of that, and let them do it. Well, you should definitely have everything in boxes at the very least. The furniture stuff they can do it quick. Also, make sure to tip the movers well. They work hard for those tips. You can venmo the lead or do it straight from the website when you pay the invoice. Or you can give them cash. They would probably prefer cash or venmo. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Bellhop. read more

Extremely disappointed with my experience using Bellhop in Atlanta. My move on May 31, 2025 was quoted at $837. But after the job, I was blindsided with a final bill nearly double that -- over $1,800 -- without any real-time communication or approval from me during the move. There was no transparency. I was never informed as the charges climbed. On top of that, the movers showed up completely unprepared, with nothing but a single Allen wrench and no tools or proper equipment. I had to hire outside help just to finish the job. Their disorganization directly caused the delay, not me. Several of my belongings were damaged during the move, including irreplaceable furniture. I submitted a claim and was promised a $449 settlement. But instead of issuing a refund, Bellhop applied it as a credit toward the inflated bill -- and only if I agreed to lift my credit card dispute. That's not a resolution -- that's coercion. I offered in good faith to pay the original quoted amount, which I believe was generous considering I had to finish the move myself and cover the damages. I had one of the worst moving experiences ever with Bellhop. I hired them to move a one-bedroom apartment -- just a queen bed, two dressers, and two nightstands. I was quoted $202/hour for two movers and a truck, with an estimated total of $606 for 3 hours. Sounds reasonable, right? Unfortunately, what I got was a complete disaster. The movers showed up with no urgency and worked incredibly slowly. One of them was constantly on his phone, and they even spent two hours just moving things around in my backyard. They clearly dragged out the time on purpose, and what should have taken 3 hours ended up taking 7 hours. Because all my belongings were already in their truck, I had no choice but to continue with the service -- they left me with no option to stop. In the end, I was charged a total of $1,302 -- more than double the original estimate -- just for a small one-bedroom move. To make matters worse: I had already packed everything myself, and they only needed to move three boxes and a few furniture items. They dragged boxes, scratched my floors, and damaged furniture. One of the movers broke a bag of cement, which spilled on my cat tree. It was brought inside without being cleaned off, and sand scattered all over my house -- upstairs, in the hallway, and in the bedroom. I had to spend hours cleaning up their mess. I reached out to Bellhop multiple times, but they offered no solution and continued to charge me more. This company is predatory, unprofessional, and dishonest. They clearly don't care about their customers -- only about squeezing every last dollar out of them. Do NOT use Bellhop. I would never recommend them to anyone. Worst moving experience If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked bellhop for an emergency move, and although the movers actually showed up on time, it went downhill from there. I hired 4 movers, only 3 showed up. They manhandled everything they touched despite me asking them multiple times to be careful. Just about everything they touched got damaged. Even containers and items inside said containers were damaged to varying degrees. I could keep going, but long story short, I have 100+ pictures of the damages that I sent to bellhop and the 'refund' they offered was downright insulting. I am still working on getting a full refund because some of the items that were damaged are antiques and the cost to repair everything is as much if not more than what I paid for the move. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AND DON'T TRUST "GOOD" REVIEWS. Edit: It's been over 10 days since trying to get a refund and you can't get a real person on the phone even if you ask the bot for a person. They didn't have the necessary straps, blankets etc to properly protect and move the furniture. Therefore our furniture and both our old house and new house sustained damage. In addition, the move took twice as long as it should have due to the truck not being loaded correctly. We are now fighting with them over the final charge. TL/DR: Avoid this company at all costs. First,Bellhop is not a moving company; it is a moving broker, and they do not disclose this on their website. They're going to subcontract your job to randoms. Everything is run out of an overseas call center (some folks have said it's in the Philippines, some people have said it's in India) staffed by people who don't know what the hell they're doing. You will never be able to speak to someone in the US because there isn't anyone, and they have no actual employees, just independent contractors, so there's no accountability. I used this company in 2021 for a local move of a much smaller household than I have now. I engaged them again because they had done a good job. I didn't know that in the interim, they outsourced all of their customer service and operations to call center employees reading scripts who know nothing about moving in general or Bellhop policies and procedures in particular. If I had looked at Yelp and seen that all the reviews for the past year have been one stars, I would've known; that's on me. The result was a shitshow of biblical proportions. Because the customer service people don't ask enough or the right questions, they completely fucked up the estimate of how many movers and hours it would take. When I authorized an additional mover in the middle of the process, they never sent them, but they charged me for them anyway. The movers themselves were polite and professional other than the issue with the dirty truck, but the team lead lacked experience; all the packing was done by the time they arrived, but he didn't recognize that he needed more resources until three hours into the job. Bellhop didn't finish the move and left me with a disassembled platform bed and multiple pieces of furniture still at the old location. (Furniture disassembly is not one of their scripted questions.) They said they wouldn't be able to complete the move themselves for another five days, and they wanted an additional $700; I hired two college students and a U-haul and the three of us finished it in two hours for $250 the next day. The truck and furniture bins the moving team used were filthy, and they didn't wrap the couch cushions. The couch is (was) white; they look like they were run over by a truck. The packing team sent me a link to leave a review and it led to another company entirely. You're going to get a lot of random text, email, and call spam because Bellhop wants you to use some "concierge" service they have. Do not give these people access to your life or your personal information; they can't do the one function in their name, so I promise you they're not going to get anything else right. It's not worth trying to deal with customer service after the fact; there's no one in the US you can speak to, and one of the customer service folks wasted 47 minutes of my time because he didn't know what the charges on my dashboard were for. Horrible experience. We reserved three movers but only two showed up. Due to the fact that there were only two movers, they were unable to move our larger items (bedroom sets/ washer/dryer etc). They could only move "one man" items. We had to hire another moving company to move the remaining items. Therefore, we ended up paying twice for the same move. This is a broker not a moving company, I should have read the prior reviews before I booked them to move a heavy item for me. Anyhow I booked three guys for a 2 hour block via a reasonable deposit with an agreed on a price of $403.00. Guys came on time and moved the piece for me in less that 30 minutes. Great job and super friendly. The "Broker" then took balance due after completion. So then I see an additional amount of $240 later the same day. I called customer service (see other comments on this joke) and they tell me it was for an additional 1 1/2 hours that the job took before the guys "checked out". This "Broker" said I would have to prove to them the guys were there for only an hour, well within my two hour block. They miscalculated and sent 2 trucks but when I called their office, they said that they were working on sending another truck and that management was aware. Dishonest, unprofessional company that falsely advertises itself as a professional moving service. When they destroy your property, they hide behind legal language to avoid taking responsibility. Companies that do this do not deserve our money and need to be boycotted. Movers other than team leader were not capable of completing this move in anything near the estimated time. Professional movers should have been able to provide an estimate that wasn't 3+ hours off. Unfair to me and the movers. Damage to my things that I think an experienced team would have prevented. Where do I start... I booked bellhop moving a couple weeks back and it was nothing short of a nightmare. As we all know we are charged by the hour when booking a moving company. My move was scheduled for 9am and the truck didn't show up until 10:39am. So I called customer service because I wanted to let them know that they shouldn't bill me until the movers are actually loading my stuff. Anyways the entire job took an hour and 39 minutes (I timed them and thank goodness I did). When that was over, I was billed for 4 hours. Not to mention, I had damage to some major items during the move but I'll get into that later. I called in to customer service to find out why I was billed for 4 hrs when the truck showed up late and the job only took less than two hours, as I didn't have a lot of stuff to move. Thankfully, after sending in my receipts, they reimbursed me the charges for the additional two hours. The next horror story with this company is when the movers damaged my dryer (which now I have to replace) and one of my dressers were damaged. I had to place a claim and send proof to Melanie, a CSR who was extremely rude and unprofessional, but I digress. She told me that the claims department was backed up and I informed her that it's not reassuring as a customer hearing that a lot of claims have been put in. It justifies that the movers are just not careful with peoples items. Anyhow, she sent me an INSULTING credit of $153.75 for the damages When I'm going to have to buy a new dryer for $700 or more. Lastly, but certainly not least, as I don't want this review to turn into a book. Ten days after my move I saw that Bellhop charged me $398.37 so again I'm inconvenienced by having to call back into customer service to find out why they're charging me 10 days after the move. The CSR I spoke to Gladys told me that she didn't know why the system charged me automatically but I will be reimbursed and rightfully so. This company falsely presents itself as a professional moving service but is dishonest and unprofessional. Initially quoted at $573, I signed the contract. Two crew members arrived with a truck, and the service took three hours. They began by scanning a QR code for time calculation. The crew loaded all items within 1.5 hours. At that point, they informed me they needed to take a break to get drinks from Wawa and assured me there would be no additional charge. I agreed, assuming they would return promptly. However, they took an hour to return, scanning the QR code again upon their departure and return. Consequently, the total time displayed as 4 hours. BellHop then billed an extra $147.66 for an additional hour, despite the crew's unauthorized break not being factored in. This company's practices are highly unethical and untrustworthy. I strongly advise against using their services. 2 times i had connect with customer care support. No proper response. instead they always saying that we will be investigating. Bellhop has good intentions but horrific follow through. They pitch a great service but when it comes time to actually get to moving day, nothing goes as they say it will. Great on paper but when none of it happens you are left wondering how they continue charging so much. The loading crew in Savannah, Georgia forgot what day it was only to show up 2 hours late with only 30 minutes left in their loading window. Due to the delay, they rushed the entire loading process breaking several big and expensive items along the way. The driver even told them they were loading the truck incorrectly and they continued to ignore direction. Of the 3 dozen moving blankets provided by Bellhop, not a SINGLE one was used or even unwrapped. After the initial loading was finally completed, the driver missed the delivery window and Bellhop would not schedule the unloading crew so late at night causing my family to sleep in an empty apartment while our household goods stayed in a lot over night and costing us the freight elevator rental cost due to having to rebook the next day. The only positive takeaway is the unloading crew was extremely apologetic for all the broken items and did their best not to ruin anything else as we had enough damage done already. The way Bellhop handles claims is laughable. They call you all day during the move but the moment the truck leaves after unloading, they never return phone calls and the only communication is from no-reply emails. I requested a claim form on Sunday April 30th and only received a response on May 4th. Very interesting timing since the form stated you only have 5 days after the completion of the move to submit your claim and I received that communication at 6pm on the 5th day. DO NOT BOOK WITH BELLHOP. They abuse their brand and hire the cheapest possible crews with little to no moving experience. If I could have canceled payment and unloaded the truck ourselves, we would have in a heartbeat. They are embarrassing and I'm only posting a public review since they refuse to contact me even after numerous requests. The day of the move, some of the crew members didn't show up, which can happen, and I have been told they would have to come back to finish the move for free. However, when I call to make sure they were coming back to finish the move they said I had to basically pay double. I booked a last-minute reservation online the day before my requested move day. (The short notice was due to a series of unrelated issues with my move.) The online system said they couldn't guarantee my requested schedule, so I called twice the following morning -- the morning of my move day -- to check if they could actually accommodate my requested time. Both times, I was told I was on the schedule for 2pm and they had a move team assigned. Therefore, I spent several hours coordinating supporting stuff at my pick-up and drop-off locations. At 2pm, the movers showed up but the truck did not. I was told that the truck "had a flat tire" so the move needed to be cancelled and rescheduled. Various things made me strongly suspect that the truck subcontractor had double-booked and was making BS excuses -- the timing of the call, the lack of effort to resolve the issue (like a delay to replace the tire), and the lack of direct communication with the truck driver. The local operations lead had no ability to wrangle the truck driver or find a different truck and told me I needed to call central support. When I called central support, it was clearly a call center with no local knowledge of the area. The representative I spoke to was unable to find a substitute truck and gave me two unacceptable "options." First, he told me to rent a U-haul truck and Bellhop would cover the rental fee for up to $250. (My move pickup was at a U-Haul storage facility.) I asked if Bellhop would provide a driver, and he said, "can't you get a driver from U-Haul?" He could not seem to grasp the fact that U-haul won't provide drivers. My move needed a 27-foot truck. I've never driven anything larger than a 17-foot truck, and when I did that I broke someone's taillight. I wasn't going to attempt a 27-foot truck. Surprise surprise, Bellhop could not provide a driver because their insurance wouldn't cover driving a U-haul. Despite these issues, the representative kept saying that this was a viable option they were giving me. The second option offered was to reschedule with a 15% discount. My original move day was Friday afternoon. First they said they could do Sunday afternoon, then reversed and said they weren't available until Monday morning. The entire reason I had schedule my move for that Friday was to get moved in before my grad school classes start on Monday morning. None of the reschedule time options would work without me potentially missing parts of my first week of classes. I ended up calling eleven other local moving companies until I found someone who could do the move the next morning. They also ended up charging me $200 less than Bellhop had quoted. Please ensure you fully read the terms of service for bellhops when considering booking with them and take this sentence very seriously- "You further acknowledge that you may be exposed to situations involving Third Party Providers that are potentially unsafe, offensive, harmful to minors, or otherwise objectionable, and that the use of Third Party Providers arranged by Bellhops is at your own risk and judgment." I was quoted for a dedicated truck for my move from Chicago to New Jersey in Mid April during the height of the pandemic. When the driver showed up at my new place he had 2 double pallets worth of freight in the box truck that he could not remove. Not only was I disrespected for nearly 2 hours by this driver, he requested that my unloaders lift my stuff over their head and walk over pallets to unload, proceeded to tether his pallets to a railing on my loading dock and drive forward, had to then take the freight to New York City to drop off in order to be able to unload my stuff, leaving me to wonder for hours if he was going to steal my stuff or expose it to the virus, and then returned at 9pm to have 3 men in and out of my apartment at late at night because of all of it. In addition my bar cart, coffee table, and bed frame were damaged to the point that they could no longer be used. The third parties that bell hops use to complete their moves do not have any regard for ensuring your stuff is not damaged, your safety, or any one who may be helping you's safety. read more

The movers were over an hour late, complained about the delivery location even though it's in the dashboard, and then one of the movers quit. I was then asked to help the driver move my things. Once I refuse because I'm paying for a service, interactions were very disrespectful and unprofessional. The driver also got lost and waited to call to tell me. Then we waited almost 2 hours for a replacement. A love that was supposed to start at 2 started at 3:30 and did not end until after 11pm! Then we realized our items were damaged. SERVICE: Awesome. Had a relatively well packed 1 BR (around 15 boxes, couch TV bed etc) that was efficiently moved in 1.25 hours there and back for a total of a little over 3 hours with trip time. My movers Darius and Jamil were friendly, punctual (came early 15 minutes!), and hard working the entire time without break. All my things were wrapped carefully and moved- they even thought to shrink wrap things that might open in the truck like my folding table. Overall very smooth day thanks to these guys Pricing: Fair. They have a good model of budgeting out what you think you need and charging whatever time you have. I will say to get the best bang for your buck have everything ready to go including your things packed, parking reserved, elevators reserved etc to get the most for your money. Pricing will change per place and time but for me in May on a Sunday, it was $189 per hour for 1 driver, 2 movers. My total was much under the $1000 most places would have quoted me at. My experience with Bellhop Moving was an absolute nightmare. I had never heard of Bellhop, but I was encouraged by the strong reviews I read online. I called the reservation agent to make a reservation for Saturday, June 29, 2024 to move apartments; the agent encouraged me to instead book for the following day because Sunday is the less expensive option. My lease ended on Sunday, July 30th. On moving day, only one mover showed up (Elijah); he was wonderful, but I had reserved two movers and one mover would be unable to complete the task. I called the company and it turns out the second mover was on another job and that they could not find a replacement to come on a Sunday. Mind you, this was the last day of my lease and I had no other options. I was and am FURIOUS. THIS COMPANY LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY with nothing but an apology and a refund. Had I not found outside help, I would have incurred additional fees from my apartment. I wish I could leave this company negative stars. Never again. read more

Repeat customer for years and there was a system glitch with a reservation. Even though I had a move booked, they kept my deposit on the original reservation! They lost a $1500 move over $100 and frankly they couldn't care less. There are a lot of moving companies in Georgia, use someone that values your business. read more
