We had a fairly positive experience. It totally had potential to go south, but we lucked out with a great team! It's my understanding that the movers are contracted and are linked up for each move. Kind of like Uber for moving? They all drive separately and likely have never met before. Luckily the synergy of our group was great. We only had 3 out of the 4 movers show up which was a frustrating start since we were quoted for 4. Found out morning of that one cancelled. We spent quite a bit of time on the phone with customer service to ensure the cost was adjusted. We had to defend our case quite a bit for an appropriate response. Having 3 instead of 4 people does impact time and is an inconvenience. The 3 gentlemen that actually showed up are the reason for the positive review. They worked extra hard to compensate for being one man down and made sure we were taken care of on-time as promised. They worked well together and quickly established a great system. So we truly appreciated all their help! I have nothing but great things to say about them. The crew that showed up did not wrap anything except the TV which they broke. They scratched up two of my tables and scratched the floor that was at the home we moved into. They will only pay $34 to fix my TV that cannot be fixed because its broken inside of the TV. The TV needs to be replaced. They refuse to pay for the repairs on one table because they said it didn't match the description that we sent. Just because they dont make that table any longer. I worked with Bellhop as an independent owner-operator of a box truck. They contacted me last minute to help move loads over the July 4th weekend. I agreed, hoping to help my situation as a small business owner trying to stay afloat. They required specific equipment (dollies, shrink wrap, moving blankets), which I had to order out of pocket. I explained that I couldn't afford to purchase everything again if it didn't arrive in time, but they showed zero concern. Despite doing the work, Bellhop's representative was rude, unprofessional, and ultimately refused to pay me for the job. I've contacted them four times with no resolution. As a minority and veteran-owned small business, this experience has been incredibly discouraging. I relied on their professionalism and was left financially hurt by a company that simply doesn't care. If you're a vendor or contractor--beware. Bellhop does not support small businesses and doesn't honor their agreements. read more

While some of our experience with Bellhop was decent, we had some issues as well. We chose Bellhop because we were moving from Texas back to Tennessee and we were moving to Chattanooga where Bellhop was founded. Our sales person, Victor, was great. He answered all of my questions and gave me every bit of information I needed to feel prepared for the move. We opted to have them do our packing for us. The packers arrived two days before our move date and I initially thought they would be there for two days. I now know from talking with customer service that they were only scheduled for one day (8 hours). It was a team of 6 packers who were only there for about 5 1/2 hours. We were charged $2,400 for the packing service which is way too much but we didn't have time to pack ourselves so we went with it. Before they left, we did a walk through of the house with them to see that everything was packed, but we didn't notice the issues until after they left and this is where the bad part of the experience began. My husband happened to open one of the boxes looking for some shoes that he did not mean to pack and saw that they had packed an iron with water in it in the same box with his dress shoes and boots. This prompted us to start looking closer. There were boxes where the tape was already coming off the box. There were extra large and large boxes that had not been fully packed so if you set another box on top of them, they would cave in. I found that my fine china dinnerware and glasses were in one of those boxes. They shrink wrapped many of our pictures rather than bubble wrapping them. In the end, we spent the better part of Wednesday and Thursday repacking things they had already packed because they were just in a hurry trying to get to their next job. They did not care about packing our items with any sort of care. I contacted Bellhop customer service the next day and was on hold for over 30 minutes and never got to a person. I contacted Victor, our sales person and he was able to open a ticket for me with the "Move Success " team. I sent plenty of pictures that confirmed the terrible packing job. It took them a full week to provide an outcome (even though I called or texted almost every day) because they said they needed to talk to the packing team who I assume was not calling them back. They initially only refunded me $200 but I eventually was able to speak to Gracelle who I believe is in management on the Move Success team and she was very helpful. She listened to my concerns and ended up refunding me an additional $708 (which equates to charges for 2 hours of packing time). While the service did not fully meet our expectations, the customer service team in the end did attempt to make things right and listened to my concerns. Hopefully they will take lessons learned from our feedback and make some changes in their packing team sourcing and in the way they deliver customer service. DO NOT USE BELLHOP!!!! I received a call less than 24 hours before my move (on a Sunday), that they accidentally double booked the truck for my move and would no longer be able to move me on my booked "guaranteed" date. Their only solution was to push my move back by 2 days OR have an "un-guaranteed" move a day late. I initially booked them regardless of the few hit-or-miss reviews, thinking it was rare and wouldn't happen to me -- until it did. Booking with this company is not worth the risk. Even their customer service was extremely unhelpful & borderline rude when trying to find a solution for *their* mix-up. Thankfully, All My Sons (Dallas) moving company was able to squeeze my move in with less than 24 hours notice -- choose them, or literally anyone else other than Bellhop. read more

Mover Beware! My experience with Bellhop includes movers showing up 24 hours late, not using any blankets or pads (which I found out on delivery), and a whole household of items destroyed. Broken nightstands, dressers, tables, and chairs. To top it off, I received a credit of $403 for my damaged goods. A supposedly standard $0.60 per pound. My damages are likely $9,000 in fairness, so the $403 is a joke. I heard from my move coordinator Joan one time, 3 hours after my movers were supposed to start. She was out of office during my entire move and didn't bother responding to any calls or texts. The customer helpline phone number isn't answered, by the way. Bellhop will tell you that they are short staffed. I have an apartment full of broken furniture. Bellhop May be cheaper than the alternative, but it is most definitely not worth it. Good concept. Horrific experience. We used this service to unload a 28 foot semi-truck trailer that was packed full. This service knew it was a 28 foot semi-truck trailer. Our scheduled time to unload was 6pm. A team of 4 was supposed to show up. Only 1 person shows up and states that 1 person called out, and the other 2 will be an hour late. Not acceptable. The 1st mover who showed up does not know how to operate a simple ratchet strap, prompting me and my 65-year old father to start helping. The three of us start unloading and the 2nd mover shows up who is a 5'5 girl who is simply not strong enough to help move the heavy items. This prompts my wife's 65 year old father to start helping. The first mover then decides a to take 2 pieces of pool table slate, dolly first with no tie downs, down the ramp of the semi truck, which is a total of over 300 pounds. He has no control, and drops the slate on his wrist, injuring himself and cracking 2 pieces of the slate. This mover goes back to his car to take care of himself and calls the bellhop company. I overhear him yelling on the phone "I guess I will continue to work because you aren't going to send anyone else." At that point I ask my wife to call the bellhop service to get more movers, we were told they would look into it but we never received a call back. Mover 1 did not work for 45 minutes but was still on the clock. Mover 3 finally shows up and he calls the service to ask for more help. The service stated to him,"You are already there, so just finish the job." No other movers showed up. A random neighbor who I haven't met walks by and says if I give his 14 year old son a hundred dollars, he and his son will come help and get this unloaded. I said absolutely yes, and they worked extremely hard and were the only reason we got done before midnight. My 65 year old father overhears the 3 movers complaining multiple times that they do not unload freight, only uhauls. I specifically did not hear this, if I did I would have told them to leave. I saw the 3 movers drop multiple boxes, including a brand new boxed 85 inch TV. The screen was completely crunched on one side where it was dropped and now broken. I have multiple glasses broken, a broken handle on an elliptical, a broken adjustable bed frame and dozens of other boxes dropped that clearly had fragile written on them. The three movers, myself, my 65 year old father, my wife's 65 year old father, a neighbor and his son took 4 and a half hours to unload this trailer. The ONLY reason it got done was because of the 5 extra people helping. It took us over a week and a half to finally get in touch with a supervisor. We were told multiple times they would call back the same day but they never did. We filled out the claims form, they are only giving us 60 cents by the pound for everything that is broken. My 85 inch tv that cost me $1200 dollars, bellhop is only giving me $130 back even though I saw the three movers drop that TV. The reimbursement for the slate is only $250 dollars. They stated they are also giving me a courtesy reimbursement of 10% of what I paid for the movers so I got a grand total of $450 dollars back over $2500 dollars that were broken/damaged. They said I need to pay an additional $600 plus for another truck. Why would I need and another truck. I told you what needed to be picked up. I booked a long distance move with Bellhop on 01/17/2025 from Phoenix, AZ to Dallas, TX scheduled for Thursday, 01/30/2025 at 8am. The move was booked with 1 26-ft box truck, 1 truck driver, 4 loaders (1 lead loader and 3 loaders), and the truck was supposed to be equipped with basic tools, 30 moving blankets, shrink wrap, and dollies. The loaders were responsible for disassembly of furniture, wrapping furniture, and loading the truck- all of which was estimated to take about 4 hours. On the day of the scheduled move, Thursday, 01/30/2025 at 8am, 2 loaders came to the house- 1 of the loaders was not originally scheduled for this specific job and he was asked to come by someone from Bellhop last minute. He mentioned that it was strange that the truck driver's name was not listed on the job and at 8:30am, I called Bellhop to confirm that everything was in order and that 2 more loaders would be arriving as well as the truck. Bellhop put me on hold as my moving coordinator that I had been dealing with was not in the office yet. When the operator came back on the phone, she notified me that there was a delay in a job from the day before and the truck driver would not be arriving until 2pm, 6 hours after the original scheduled time of the move. While frustrated that we were now delayed at least 6 hours and had not been notified until after the truck was scheduled to be there, we understand that sometimes things happen. The 2 loaders left and said they would be back at 2pm. At 2pm, the 4 loaders arrived, the truck was still not there. The lead loader smelled intensely of marijuana- we were already delayed so much at this point that we just put the loaders to work to disassemble and start moving items outside for when the truck arrived. Because the supplies that were supposed to have come with the truck were not there, we unpacked our tools and allowed the loaders to use them and we went out to get moving blankets and shrink wrap to start wrapping the furniture. At 2:30pm, I got a call from my moving coordinator asking if the moving truck was there, it was not. She called me back maybe 15 minutes later, and informed me that the truck driver said he was on the way. The truck finally arrived at 4:30pm with 6 small, tattered, dirty moving blankets and dollies, no shrink wrap or tools. At this point, we had been on the phone with Bellhop many times to find out what was going on- when I asked to speak with our moving coordinator, she was "engaged in another call" multiple times so my husband and I expressed our frustrations to the other operators and they said that she would call us back. When we finally got a hold of her, we voiced our concerns about many things: * 8.5 hour delay of the truck- when the truck arrived, the items that were contracted to be there were not, so yet again, we had to go to the store and purchase more moving blankets and shrink wrap- on that day, we spent $500 in additional moving supplies. * The lead loader smelling of marijuana and the lack of professionalism by the lead was concerning, he was complaining about Bellhop and how the truck driver is normally listed on the job and he knew that something was not right, he was not moving things carefully or instructing his team to move things carefully * 2 of the loaders were not productive or properly trained- they lacked the basic and necessary skills for packing and moving heavy items. One of them tried to flip our very expensive and very heavy 8-ft dining table by himself until my mother-in-law stopped him and asked him to wait for the other loaders to help him. * My entire family had to step in and take initiative to move things to the truck and to move heavy items because it was clear that the team was not capable of doing what they were hired to do. * We have 2 Gaggenau wine fridges that hold 70 bottles each, worth $9,700 each- we mentioned that the wheels only wheel in one direction and they kept scraping it along the ground outside. When the wine fridges arrived in Dallas, they did not stand. Our moving coordinator apologized and said that she escalated our situation with her supervisor and her supervisor would be handling compensation for all of the issues we had. We never heard from this supervisor. She also had me send her the hotel bookings we had in El Paso that night and said that we would be reimbursed, nothing ever happened with that. We finished at 11pm and ended up booking 2 more nights of hotel rooms because of the delay. After my credit card was charged, all I got was generic, automated responses to how I could file a claim. It's unfortunate that this company is making money taking advantage of customers. I would expect there to be some level of empathy or human decency in the industry of hospitality, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. read more

What's more ridiculous is that one mover left in the midway and saying that he has another appointment. The company says we have wait for an hour for them to schedule a backup. Absolutely terrible. I reserved a move for June 7, 2021 For 3 hours with 3 movers. They showed up without furniture dollies, and straps. They did have appliance dollies and a truck that had a hydraulic lift vs a ramp. long story short it took them 5 hours to complete the move with my help. The main reason for this was their lack of equipment. By the end they caused damage in excess of $1000.00 and have offered me $85.00 dollars, which is .60 per pound per damaged item. So practically they they offered me $60.00 for an amoir that cost in excess of $1100.00 Jaylene H is the one offering this. in addition I was over charged $478.00 2, 3, and then 4 days after the move. Bellhop is an amazing moving experience. They loaded my apartment in two and a half hours. But, that old saying about "cheap, good and fast - pick 2" applies. They did not protect the corners of any of our wooden pieces (dressers, tables) adequately. One layer of cling film does nothing. So there is a lot of damage to those pieces. The back fabric is ripped off my couch. Also, the truck was leaky and a lot of our stuff got wet. They were cheap and fast, but not so good. read more

I booked a move for Thursday. These guys over book and leave you hanging. They arrived two hours late and left right at the 4 hour mark. The company offered a follow up for the following Monday. I wholeheartedly do not recommend using Bellhop for your moving needs. We had a local move with a team of four movers including the team lead who was in charge of how the trailer was packed. First, the truck was about 45 minutes late to our house. There were movers at our house on time who started wrapping furniture, so there was some movement, however, if the truck had been on time the actual packing of the boxes and furniture could have happened a LOT sooner. The biggest Bellhop mess-up was severe damage to our fridge. After the move, Bellhop sent a customer survey on which I provided very transparent feedback and they gave us a refund in the amount of $141.75 to "try and make it right". Secondly, in regard to the fridge there was COMPLETE gross negligence on the team lead's part. When our refrigerator was unpacked ALL THREE of our fridge doors were damaged with dents and/or deep scratches. When everything was unpacked and the movers finished up we did tip $40 each in cash. The other three movers were great and seemed to take great care in moving our boxes and furniture. The team lead seemed surprised when we tipped at the end and at that time he owned up to the refrigerator damage being his fault alone. He admitted to not using blankets to protect the fridge and facing it the wrong way in the trailer. He took his own pictures and submitted them to Bellhop. We did not hear from Bellhop on the claim, we had to follow up with them several times. They ended up offered us $125 which is ridiculous based on the amount of damage. We started with a nice $2,000 fridge that had no damage. All said and done, they gave us $145.75 initial refund + $125 claim offer on fridge = $266.75 less our $160 tip = $106.75 to try and make up for a terrible experience and we are left with major, cosmetic damage that will require door replacements. Other relevant background information: When we made our reservation with Bellhop I specifically asked if they had cargo insurance in place and I also confirmed that the coverage would extend to boxes that I would have packed myself if they were damaged during transit. The answer was "yes" with zero explanation of their .60 per pound limitation (which is very limited coverage) and there was NO offer given on the ability to purchase better insurance coverage. Overall, I am confident Bellhop does not hold their customers best interest at heart. If they did they would have taken the time to explain their fine print which in my opinion would have given them more credibility as a professional mover. They tried to make the problem go away with small payments that are meaningless to the actual damage caused directly by their employee read more

As well as the marble slab on my bar cart. The chair in my room is now leaning to the side because they broke it. Then they had the audacity to only offer $120. We had to constantly remind the movers to wrap the couch and other items. They didn't even bother wrapping the glass table or the marble slab. They were extremely inexperienced! I received the confirmation text from the Team Lead about 1 hour and 15 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive (it was going to rain that day). They arrived on time and carefully proceeded to evaluate everything they would be loading. They were quick to unload also, so very efficient and professional. The lowest tier of moving company one could hire. From start to finish the entire experience was trash. I selected Bellhop to move my 1 BR apartment on the 25th of July 2021. Their lack of communication from the jump speaks wonders. I never received any contact from the company prior to my scheduled move. On the day of my scheduled move, I began to receive texts from their so-called "driver" and he confirmed that they would show up on the scheduled time slot. 5 MINUTES BEFORE MY SCHEDULED ARRIVAL TIME (you read that correctly, 5 minutes) they called to inform me that they did not have a truck to utilize on my move. I was baffled. The only option they offered me was to reschedule my move to a different day, which was not feasible given that my lease was ending on that day. It was so comical they even asked me if I had a truck they could use XDXDXD. What a joke. Their entire business model is rubbish. Essentially they have a pool of drivers/movers that select desired jobs (think of an uber type model) and then use 3rd party trucks to move things. So unorganized and I would NOT recommend this service to anyone else. Do not let the attractive pricing fool you, there are so many other companies out there that would never treat their customers like this. The movers did not use any moving blankets, and instead wrapped fragile furniture in two layers of cellophane wrap. Needless to say, multiple items arrived damage. Many items also were missing. Filing a claims process was long, tedious, and frustrating. I did not receive a fair settlement in the end. Movers at the loading site were hasty and you could tell they just wanted get the job done and leave asap without tending to quality. While I'd paid for a total of 21 man hours, I received perhaps 13-14. Furniture required assembly, but everyone left less than three hours after the first guy clocked in, even though the second and third guys did not arrive until up 30 and 90 minutes later. Would never recommend hiring this company UNLESS you only have cheap things that you don't mind having damaged, and if you don't get bothered by lack of professionalism. read more

Hire literally anyone else. This was a horrible experience and I will never be using Bellhop again. To start: I had been quoted 4 men and a truck with all supplies for a minimum of 2 hours for $209. The first issue: when I checked my dashboard the day before the move, without telling me or alerting me in anyway, they had changed my quote to $229/hr. Just out of the blue. I called a representative who apologized and said that they would honor the quoted $209. They forgot. They charged me at $229 after the move. I had to call and go through the whole thing AGAIN before my payment went through. I bet if I hadn't checked they would have just billed me at the higher quote both times. SO DISHONEST. And so much extra time and energy wasted on my part-- I work full time and had to waste part of my busy day correcting their errors. Then, they canceled my move THE DAY OF, and alerted me about 30 minutes before the movers were supposed to arrive. Again, I had been quoted 4 men and a truck for a minimum of 2 hours for $209. They told me they didn't have a truck, so I'd need to reschedule my entire move-- on the day of my move!?! Knowing that tenants have a hard deadline to be out of their apartments! The entire situation was just utterly ridiculous. My husband and I are health care workers and it was very difficult for us to take days off together for this move. My mom had also taken time off of work to fly in to help us. And instead of offering a solution-- such as the company acquiring a different truck and following through on their services, they just sent and email and a voicemail from a representative saying "We need to reschedule your move! Thanks for your flexibility!" I called them and said I absolutely can't reschedule, and the only solution the representative Chelsea could offer was that they could provide me the movers I booked if we somehow could acquire a moving truck. I'm not sure why this fell on our shoulders as this is exactly why one hires a MOVING company, but at this point, I was too exhausted to argue. Anyway my husband and I SCRAMBLED to find a large truck and were able to rent one. He had to drive it and be the driver that day. When I called Bellhop and said that we acquired a truck and would like them to follow through on the team we booked, they reluctantly admitted that they could only provide us 2 out of the 4 men for the move. Did they ever plan to even follow through on our move? I just have to wonder. I honestly have no idea how such a dishonest company operates. So we got 2 men and no truck, 2 hours late. My husband had to become the third mover. Just ridiculous, as he has severe knee injuries and an ACL repair and we hired movers precisely to avoid him having to do this. I want to note that the movers themselves were very pleasant and hard working gentlemen. This review of Bellhop DOES NOT reflect their services. We were very happy with their help. We used their services for 2 hours (the company minimum), and then called it a day. Despite Bellhop's 15% discount "for our flexibility", this company is absolutely dishonest, disorganized, and caused us a ridiculous amount of stress on a day that we had organized to be a smooth and uncomplicated move. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I used bellhop to move into my apartment 2 years ago and it was amazing so hired them again. My move was scheduled for Sunday, I called to make sure I had 4 guys - 3 pros and 1 recruit. I did. Only 2 showed up and they said it was company policy they had to wait for the other 2 before they could get started moving. TWO HOURS LATER. the other 2 movers still never showed up and they ended up canceling my move. Both myself and the 2 movers that showed called bellhop over and over and over trying to get 2 more guys sent out and they failed to do so and eventually left us on hold and never called back. This was on a Sunday evening and I had my paid cleaners coming the next morning at 8 am as I had to be out of my apartment. And now, I still have not heard back from bellhop about requesting a refund, or how my move went or ANYTHING. silence. I ended up having to pay double for movers the next day because it was such short noticed, and got a fee for canceling my cleaners, and then had to take work off to get everything moved the next day. It was the worst moving experience of my life - and bellhop won't even get back to me about it. I am shocked at how amazing the customer service was 2 years ago and how horrible it is now. Avoid these guys like the plague. I had to cancel for reasons beyond my control, and barely missed the 48 hour deadline. I sat on hold for an hour trying to reach them, and they refused to refund the $100 deposit. I would have gladly rescheduled with them for the next week if they hadn't kept me on hold for an hour, and had agreed to refund my deposit. As it turned out, I just had to shift my move from Weds to Sat but at the time I cancelled, I was not sure about when the move would actually take place. So they have my $100 but they have permanently lost a customer. Given how many other companies are around, there is no reason ever to use these guys. read more

Bellhops movers were hired to move a queen size bed, console, and 2 TVs (65in lg and 65 in Samsung 4K curve). They charged me 430.00 for a hour of work, and broke both TVs. The 2 men were fighting prior to and during my move (documented by management). They refuse to compensate me for the TVs or reimburse me for the outrageous amount charged. I think the quality of service with this company depends on the team of movers you get the day of the move and you have no control of that. I would never trust them with a move again. Was recommended to Bell hop from a friend a saw the hundreds of 5 star reviews and was fooled into using them. The movers were really nice guys and wore gloves and masks as requested, but the service was terrible. Our nearly new furniture was DESTROYED. I specifically told them we lived on 3rd floor far from elevator and they took twice as long as quoted, I had a color coded moving box labeling system for loading which was mostly ignored and our custom made sectional couch which I asked to be wrapped was not wrapped and every pillow and surface was laid out on the street and covered in dirt on arrival. They damaged the apartment walls moving in and moving out. Wood was deeply scratched on bed frame, night stand, rocking chair, table and baby changing table. Electric power cord was damaged. Couch was beyond dirty and the fabric rubbed off the corners down to the wood frame, deep cuts in the couch fabric from the dolly used for transport. We had the couch less than a year and we kept it in pristine condition. Once I saw the extensive damage I confronted the lead mover (Benjamin Hernandez) and he said the trucks usually come with 30 blankets but this truck only had 5 and that Bellhop corporate would pay for damage and cleaning of couch. And then continued to damage the furniture while unloading, such a disappointment and headache. The cost of move was 3x what I have ever paid and our practically brand new items were just destroyed. I started the damage claim with Bellhop before the move was even complete. The claim department was awful in handling the damage claim, never giving apologies only excuses, we were giving given wrong info and new excuses for many weeks after the move by the customer service and claim department (Meg K. was our claim rep) and she was very unresponsive to our calls. The very low settlement amount offered to cover damage was just insulting considering the couch needs to be replaced and the amount won't even cover the repairs needed on all the other items. Hopefully I can take them to small claims court and report them to BBB. Such a awful experience with a new baby and in a pandemic, I could never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Thomas, Jessie, Forreste and Jacob were all excellent!! They actually worked really fast and were done well before the 4 hours was up! Thomas actually stayed a little later than the other to help set up my daughter's bunk beds! I would definitely recommend Bellhops and the guys on the team for all moves!! read more

We hired Bellhops because their estimating process, work protocols, and phone communication were very organized, detailed, and worked like a well oiled clock. On the day of the move, the crew showed up in Dallas exactly to the minute of the prearranged time, worked methodically and carefully, and the loaded truck left straight for the new apartment in Scottsdale, AZ. The furniture arrived to the destination exactly at the prearranged time. The new crew was very polite, helpful, and carefully loaded it into the apartment. There were no surprises or snags of any sort.
