Do not use this service. Showed up late for the move with one of the movers missing, but still charged full price. They left half of my items on the move day inside my place and then proceeded to charge me for a second move two days later. On the second move I showed up to find out that they hadn't brought a truck and I had to go get one on the spot while they charged me for the time to go get it. Words cannot explain the disappointment I experience, they broke a 1500 dresser onto my 600 table. The movers let the dresser go after it snapped a leg and it dropped on my table. Then they immediately blamed us after they put all the weight on one leg and snapped a leg clean off.. and guess what? They offer us 160 bucks.. then 300 bucks after we argued with them... they are a scam mover. Do not put any valuable possessions in their hands.. they beak them and offer you .60 cents/lb.. weigh everything they move and if the weight x .60 cent does not equal the price you paid, DONT LET THEM TOUCH IT!!!!! you will get paid more for a 1 ton rock, than a big screen tv.....oh and good luck getting them on the phone, they pass you around until you get dizzy.. their reputation means nothing to them! read more

I shopped around a lot before deciding on movers. All of the moving companies I called had charges for a variety of things like $20/ flight of stairs and random mileage charges. I decided on Bellhops because they had no hidden fees. When I called the company, the operator was very courteous and a swerved all my questions. My movers called to confirm my location an hour before they came. And arrived on time! These guys saved my life!! On a cold, rainy day, my Bellhops came to carry a ton of boxes, bed, and couch up to the third floor of my apartment. All within an hour! They were so efficient and courteous. They also asked me I wanted my boxes in certain rooms. And even offered to put together furniture for me! Overall, I highly recommend Bellhops. BEWARE of the fine print when you hire this company. I hired them to move three pieces of furniture out of my home into storage. An antique curio book cabinet, a desk and a credenza. The movers destroyed my curio cabinet and damaged the other two pieces of furniture. When they moved the cabinet back into my home they left it in pieces on its side in the floor of my home. They crushed multiple boxes that contained fragile items that their movers marked as BREAKABLE. When I attempted to have Bellhop pay to repair the items they admit that they broke, the company advised me that they are only required to compensate .60 cents per pound of furniture ---- meaning if you have a 100 pound expensive piece of furniture that their movers destroy you get compensated a grand total of $60. With that policy they have no incentive to carefully pack and move your items. They can break anything they want and do not have to pay you when they do. READ their policy statement before you hire them. Their customer service is abysmal. I was offered the replacement costs of the card board boxes that were crushed ($2.00) but not the damaged contents of the boxes (Seriously ). Horrible experience, horrible customer service and an expensive lesson for me to learn. If I could give 0 stars I would. Before you hire a moving company, make sure that you understand what the provisions are as far as paying you for damages that their movers cause. I paid this company $1700+ to come into my home and destroy my furniture. According to them I have no recourse other than to accept a $65 "settlement" to pay for an antique cabinet that their movers destroyed. Use someone else. read more

Helped my mom schedule a move with this company and I completely regret doing so! The movers told her that they were going to drop off a load at the storage and then would return to finish the move. After they were gone, Bellhops office called to inform her that not only would they not be returning but if she wanted to pay extra the soonest they could return would be late next week. When I spoke to a moving coordinator named Emily, she informed me that there is no way they told my mom that they'd be back which doesn't make any sense seeing as they took the key to her storage and never returned it. They seem super nice at first but if they break something they'll try to hide it from you and then ignore any type of claim you try making until your 5 day damage claim time frame is up. They broke my $2,000 75 inch Samsung tv and ignored all my calls until after the 5 day damage period was up. Then finally over a month later offered my a total of $60 to fix it, when it not even fixable. Do NOT use this company for moving. Their policy is absolutely ridiculous and over charge way too much. These guys were amazing! I was helped by Andres and Zhijuan, and they couldn't have been more efficient and professional! With their help, I had my 16ft budget truck completely emptied in only an hour and a half! I spent the better part of an afternoon researching other official moving in the DFW, and everyone wanted to charge me $100/hr plus gas for coming out, plus a flat fee for using their truck, when all I needed was a couple guys to help unload, and most wanted a 3 hour minimum!! These guys were having none of that. Very reasonably priced, and you only pay for what you need. I also love the fact that it's helping college kids in the process. I remember what it was like being broke in college. With this business, they not only get some income, but they have a great way to keep in shape! The crew was polite and friendly, but I was promised 4 movers plus a driver for the amount per hour I was charged. They showed up 1 man short. They realized the truck was too small, so halfway through loading, they started tossing things on top of already loaded items. Consequently, things were damaged, scratched, dented, etc. They left many items in the house that I specifically asked them to bring because I was unable to reach them. They left my bed practically unassembled. I had to call to get them to come and assemble it properly. My washing machine was broken; I had to call a repair person to fix it. They will happily take your credit card number, and provide you a "confirmation" online, but then they called me back at the end of the next business day to inform me that they could not provide the help on the date they "confirmed" and the earliest they could provide help was over 7 days after that. I call the customer service line and they were of no help. They couldn't get another team of 2 out and were unapologetic, simply offering to reschedule for the next day. I scheduled a month in advance for 2 movers for 3 hours. One mover showed up with the truck on time. The second mover showed up 2 hours into my move. By this time, me and my roommate had helped load the truck. Then, when arriving at the new apartment, they asked us to help them unload the truck. A three hour move took five hours and the late mover was super lazy. He was talking and texting on his phone while my roommate and I were unload boxes from the truck. I called their customer service line three times during the move requesting another mover and was told that they would follow up with me. That never happened. Don't let their price fool you. Wow...I am so glad I found Bellhops! They have been great! I have 2 daughters in college and moving them this time of year can be back breaking work. I used Bellhops moving help in Dallas on two separate occasions. I also used Bellhops in Austin. They were wonderful as well, but that's for a separate review. The first time I used the Dallas groupo was unloading a truck and trailer at 4 in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was about 99 degrees and a typically high humidity Dallas day. This had been the fourth job that day for these guys. They were AWESOME! Great attitudes, careful movers, polite and professional. They were done in no time flat. When the Captain called me to confirm he was on his way, he even offered to bring ME water...I wasn't the one working my tail off. I thought that was a really special gesture. Austin, Reginald and Alec are my heroes! The second time I used Bellhops, it was to move furniture out of a storage unit into a trailer. If you've ever worked out of a storage unit, you know what a beating that can be! Edwin handled it with ease. Unfortunately for him, the other bellhop couldn't make it. Edwin was so professional in communicating with me through out the entire process I never even missed the other young man. He moved the furniture in easily and carefully. They helped me move into a new apartment right across the street. They ended up breaking my TV because one mover tried to pick it up by himself instead of using two movers. The TV was in a box and everything like they asked for. After all the hassle of filing a claim, they gave me "half of what the TV is worth", so its going to cost me another $300 to replace my TV with the money they gave for it. Bellhops offered to send a 3rd guy (original Captain) for free if necessary to get the job done on time because of the delay. I'm a little annoyed that people complain that these are college students, it's not like Bellhop tries to hide that fact. They literally send you pictures of the people coming to help. Take care of your Bellhops and they'll take care of you. We offered water and breakfast because moving is hard! We've used a lot of mover services in the past and for a Labor only service, we were super happy. The prices are efficient and fair if you want something quick and easy. They prorate after an hour in 15 min increments, something most movers don't do so this alone saves you a lot of money. Also, for a Labor only service, they don't bring a dolly or blankets so be cognizant of that and rent it beforehand. It saves a ton of time which equals money. If I could give this business 0 stars I would. Do not EVER use this moving company under any circumstances. They took over 11 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment 5 minutes down the road. The movers damaged my desk, broke a lamp and lost a large art piece of mine. I have damages around $1.5k and the movers did not let me know of the items they damaged I had to find on my own. Then when I tried to file a claim with this business they took MULTIPLE follow ups before they finally offered me a $100 reimbursement. This is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They are terrible to get in contact with, terrible to move your stuff and terrible at trying to reimburse a customer that they have wronged. Use any other movers, they do not have adequate movers or care about the customers they have. They will damage or lose your furniture then not help you at all after. Honestly there are two parts to this story. There is the move, which was horrible and absolutely atrocious.... then there was the claim part. I can say that filing the claim was a little hassle but after negotiating they paid me for the missing tv stand in full and $1.00 per pound on the damaged items. Still, my brand new leather is worth so much more than that and right now is estimating at $1700 to have the damages fixed just for the leather sofa and loveseat. The fact that they use third party for moving trucks adds an element of unaccountability to the whole situation and as far as the movers, I still feel like they never really cared about the customer. The customer experience is lackluster, horrendous and moves at a uncaring pace. I will increase my review by two stars because they did pay me 800 and wiped the move charges to 0 allowing me to pay for some of the damages but I still had to buy a brand new Entertainment Center out of pocket. Like I told the claims rep, you would not like it if someone tore up your brand new recently purchased items and would expect a full replacement right? Principle is my thing. I still think this could have been handled better from the very beginning and their operations team needs to perform a root cause analysis to ensure that future customers do not experience what we have experienced. I always source on yelp. This is the first time a high rating was not what I though it was going to be... in the end, the claims team did their job and negotiated with me a settlement offer that was ok in order to get over this "difficult time" for lack of professional words. I am still finding items that are broken, missing, and have no earthly idea if they were on the dock when my other items got stolen or what gremlin came and got them. But it's all in the past now.
