I used Bellhops yesterday evening to move some heavy pieces of furniture. They arrived 15 minutes early and got all of the furniture moved MUCH quicker than anticipated (It took them 20 minutes compared to the anticipated hour). Since there is an hour minimum for their services, the movers stayed for an additional 40 minutes to help us load other pieces of furniture to our truck, and even packed everything for us. I was actually worried that they had taken on TOO much additional work, but they assured me that if they went over they would clock out at an hour and work for free to finish what they had started (they ended up getting it done in time, but still quite a commitment to make to ease my concerns). In the hour that we scheduled our Bellhops services, we got more than triple the amount of furniture moved (and packed) that we anticipated. The price for this service was cheap, and the service they provided was invaluable. 5 stars and then some. read more

I wouldn't recommend. Received a call at 6:30 pm from the movers the night prior to my move asking if I thought the weather (it was snowing) caused me any concern. I said it did not and everything was ready for 8 am the next morning. They confirmed the time and said they'd be at my place by 8. Fast forward to 8:20 the next day, no call no show. I called the office who said they were about to call me. They said the movers had concerns regarding safety and wouldn't be able to move me. The call took much longer than my post but the point is, I can't recommend organizations that do business that way. There are plenty of moving companies here. Find another one. read more

I used Bellhops for my move today, because no other moving service would return my calls. I was leery of them because they had no reviews, and it is college kids. I know Sunday mornings when I was in college, I was far too hung over to be responsible. But I'm glad I took a chance on them. They called early to confirm, and showed up promptly. They worked so fast at the beginning, I couldn't disassemble my bed quickly enough. Of course, that pace didn't last long, but they worked quickly, diligently, and never stopped. When we got to my new apartment they offered to move things in place for me, but of course I had no idea where I wanted my furniture yet. I will definitely recommend them to friends. The move was fine until an antique china cabinet, that holds great sentiment, was broken. I filed a claim with the company and was offered less than half the cost to repair the cabinet. The company's response was "Bellhops reimburses by the weight of the item and not the repair cost or replacement cost." I guess when I hired Bellhops I agreed to this ridiculous policy. Needless to say I won't be using Bellhops again. Don't let Bellhops move anything of sentiment or value. If it gets damaged you'll never get enough to get it fixed or replaced! read more

THE WORST, WORST 'MOVERS' I HAVE USED, incl their customer service! Destroyed every thing they touched of mine. And yes, like other stories below, will low ball you on anything they owe you for ruining 'based upon some bogus calculation' that they hide behind. Every story below about being assigned a certain # of guys but not having that # show up @ move time = EXACTLY TRUE. I also left very specific, detailed instructions on my 'dashboard' they tell us to use for communicating - THEY DID NOT READ ANYTHING I WROTE. I said, 'here's the stuff that gets put last on your truck so that it is first off your truck upon arrival - They mixed everything together - even though I had all my belongings carefully spread out separately: storage stuff was put in my living room - my living room was in my storage. They do not know what they're doing AND are not invested in these jobs because they all run off to do other jobs after they move you!' They will dump boxes on top of each other, all over the place - there is no thought behind how they work, or whether I-the customer-can even walk around and get to boxes/items they dumped. read more

They did refund my money, but that really meant nothing when I was left with a Uhaul truck that needed unloading and had to be returned that day. Like most people, moving is an event I dread and loathe. In the past I've moved everything myself and at times convinced a few good friends to help me, in return for pizza and good beer! After many moves and life changes, I will no longer move without the services of professional movers! With moving companies, I highly recommend doing your homework. In the past I went with the cheapest rates I could find. Keep in mind that I am not correlating cost of service with quality of service, but some companies should not be in business. That was a horrible experience to say the least, but I digress. So while doing some research I came across Bellhops. They employ college students, and having been there, done that myself I totally empathized how challenging it can be to work and go to school simultaneously. So I kind of had a soft spot for them, which played a huge part in my decision. They weren't the most expensive, nor were they the cheapest. Coincidentally, they had a Groupon for a good deal. They had some solid reviews and the price with the Groupon was definitely within my budget. My previous experience with movers made me quite hesitant to move forward (no pun intended). Prior to purchasing the Groupon, I called Bellhops to see what they were about and how they would handle the Groupon purchase. The young woman I spoke with was very nice and helpful, and asked all the appropriate questions which made me confident in my choice to hire Bellhops. The appointment setup was a breeze since I scheduled 3 weeks in advanced. I received a confirmation email the same day. The week prior to the move, I called Bellhops to confirm the appointment. The young woman confirmed my appointment in their system and informed me that the movers would call me the day before to confirm the appointment once more. She even told me who was scheduled to move me. The day before the move I received an email confirming my appointment with pictures and bios of the two guys scheduled. I also received a call from Jack the same day to confirm the appointment. The morning of my move, Jack and Felipe arrived 5 minutes early and introduced themselves to me with a smile and a handshake (cool headbands and all). We discussed the items to be moved prior to start so that they had a good idea of what to expect and if any items needed special attention. One item in particular was my girlfriend's dresser. It was her grandma's and it meant a lot to her. They moved it from our apartment, down the stairs, and in to the truck with the utmost care (and fairly quick too)! All of our things from our one bedroom apartment were loaded in to the truck within an about hour. Once we arrived to the new place, they took the same amount of care of our belongings and made sure that we took it easy to let them do all the heavy lifting. All we had to do was hang-out in the new apartment and rest our feet! In all, we had a great experience with Bellhops. Jack and Felipe were friendly, courteous, upbeat, and professional! Even though we went over the expected time, not once did they complain or display any signs of frustration. I would recommend for small and simple moves, probably not the guys to move a million dollar home because this is a part-time gig for most of them and they don't come with their own supplies in Denver, but they were perfect for our two bedroom apartment. I've hired professional movers 6 times. Bellhop recently moved my one bedroom apartment .7 miles and it took them 4 1/4 hours. The crew assigned was the slowest, most unmotivated team of professional movers I've ever seen. Items were damaged and I ended up paying nearly double what was quoted. We booked 4 bellhops for 4 hours. Only 3 showed up. However, our lead, Troy B,l assured us it would be fine. And he was righty! The 3 bellhops that DID show up were AMAZING! Kevin J, Troy B and Griffin H. We're outstanding. All three showed up not only on time, but a few minutes early. They were incredibly apologetic for the other bellhop not showing up. And then they HUSTLED to make up for their missing coworker. In fact, they even finished early! We had 2 flights of stairs and soooooo many books and kitchen boxes. We were truly impressed. They must have been absolutely exhausted. All three were friendly, fast and courteous. We were exceptionally happy with their service despite the small hiccup in the beginning. They didn't show! They just didn't show up. Not at the schedule time, not late, NOT AT ALL! And no call. When I called them 37 mins after the scheduled time got the run-around. No explanation, just a lot of apologizing and another time in a couple of days when I could reschedule. How would I know you would show up this time I asked... "I super promise we ALWAYS show up and I will personally be here to make sure you can contact me if there is any problem." I was nervous about hire strangers to come to our home to move items. These two movers zack and Steven were friendly, polite and humerus. Zack the lead called to confirm the move time 2 days prior and I received multiple emails confirming the time and when the pay clock started. Easy to use service. We just moved in so I hired them for a hour to move 2 sofas and a sectional and some boxes. We had everything prepped for them and a clear path. It took no time at all. Would give less than 1 star if possible. Scheduled for 9:00 am. Team confirmed. 9:00 am came and went. I had to contact bellhop for status. Bellhop did not even have the wherewithal to initiate a follow up once they knew they would not make the 9:00 am scheduled appointment. After I made them aware that no movers showed, I was given an excuse about a truck not operable and was rescheduled. Rescheduled time was 11:30 am. Surprise! Still no movers. Surprise! No call to advise of late arrival. I sit here waiting still waiting. Been on hold with the 800 number for over 20 mins. Missed other appointments I had. This is quite possibly the absolute worse customer service I have ever experienced. Extremely skeptical of the actual moving service I'm going to receive...wait if they even ever show up. I booked my movers 3 months ago, confirmed again 24 hours ahead and they still cancelled my help 6 hours before my move. I would say that 1 star is very generous. We were notified literally as we were driving our moving truck over the mountains into town and now have to figure out how to move furniture up three flights of stairs on our own. If you want peace of mind do not even consider bellhop. And no recourse except a reschedule option on another day which doesn't do much good when you are already in progress. ORIGINAL POST: After much research on Bellhop, it seemed like the companies capabilities and our needs were a perfect match. The process to book the move-out was very simple and nothing indicated they wouldn't be able to handle the job prior to move-out day. Sadly, we were very disappointed with our decision. We had a total of about 20 pieces of furniture, of which all but one of the items, were fairly simple move items. So we scheduled 2 bellhops and a driver for 4 hours. The initial disappointment with this is the fact that the customer is left with the task of estimating how much time they will need workers for, as opposed to the flip. As a company that prides itself in being able to handle the move from start to finish, it would seem more reasonable for the company to evaluate the amount of items, building dynamics (elevator, etc.), and travel distance to the new home, and at minimum counter on time needed or number of bellhops if there seems to be any issues. After all, the average person does not deal with moves on a daily basis, like your company does. Ultimately, we got charged more than the quote because of this timing issue. As to moving specifics, two separate loads of furniture down the elevator (which admittedly adds some time) took 2 hours. This left our bellhop team in a scramble when the last and largest item (a couch which probably should have been addressed first), was all that was left to finish the move. Ultimately, after some time of not being able to find a way to get the couch out, they cited the weight of the couch and inability to disassemble as the reasons they could not get the couch out. The crew did give it their best effort from what has been relayed, but just couldn't make it work. While I understood their position at the time (the couch is fairly heavy and bulky), the surprise when it took my mother and I 15 minutes to disassemble it and another 10 minutes to get it down to the ground level later that day was pretty upsetting. Not only did my mom and I both have to re-adjust our whole day to get it out, but candidly it was fairly simple to do so. The fact that a "moving company" doesn't even bring simple tools (a screwdriver and wrench for example) for unexpected situations like this (even if the email disclaimers says Bellhops don't do disassembly or carry heavy objects), was pretty upsetting. Finally, we had a chest of drawers that (as requested) we removed all of the drawers from. Well, during the move-out the drawers were placed back into the chest, and came out during the move causing pretty good damage to the drawers themselves. In addition, paint on both the walls and ceiling of the condo were damaged during the move-out as well. Luckily, of the few positives, the team was still very courteous during the move-out among some difficult situations. Truthfully, I don't really even put it on the Bellhop crew for this experience, as much as the Company itself. Its clear that the crew is not given the tools (literally and figuratively) to adjust in tricky situations, and still provide top notch customer service, regardless of "company policies". Just for perspective, that same couch that got left in the condo, was moved in to the SAME condo 5 years before with just 2 guys. But in this case, it was left to me the customer to problem solve just two days before turning over the keys to a new owner. For a company that had so many great reviews, it was shocking to see the quality of "service" that this moving company actually delivered. We hope that at minimum, we can be credited for the damage caused to our furniture during the move, but even wishing for that might be a stretch with this Company. UPDATE: After sending my review to BellHop, their customer service team stepped up to the plate and delivered. I went through the Damage claim process, and after evaluating our damages, the Company credited us $105. But to take it a step further, due to the unsatisfactory results of our move, they decided to credit another $100 to us. The second of the two credits was totally unexpected, but definitely left us feeling like we were "heard" by Bellhops and redeemed an otherwise poor experience. In light of this, maybe this was just a one-off experience, and I'd be willing to give them another chance if we ever needed a moving company again. read more

Very happy and impressed by my movers from Bellhops! They were punctual, professional and quick! I allotted 3 hours, 3 bellhops and a truck and they only took 2hours & 15mins. Once they got there they were straight to work, one guy brought a coffee and maybe took one sip during the whole move. I went from a 3rd floor apartment to another 3rd floor so I was impressed there were no breaks. I even unfortunately couldn't fit my couch in the new place but not from a lack of trying. They were even willing to try to go through the balcony to attempt to get it in but I decided it wasn't worth the try, but absolutely appreciated the enthusiasm from them to try! 100% recommend Bellhops to anyone looking for a move in Denver metro area. Terrible experience. The truck was not on time so the movers decided to make a pile of my furniture in the garage, that was so poorly placed, that it all fell over. The movers dropped and shattered my grandpas desk. I had to clean up the whole mess while they just stared at me. The truck never ended up showing up so I had to cancel all together. We used Bellhops today to help unload a 16 ft truck, then empty a garage and reload the truck and then unload it again. Our two guys showed up exactly on time, worked hard the whole 4 hours that we needed them and did whatever was asked. Great attitudes. Hard workers. The process of using Bellhops was also great. We booked, received a confirmation email. The day before I received an email saying who was showing up and giving me their contact information. I got a text when they logged in and out. I would strongly suggest the use of a professional moving company over the use of Bellhops. While the movers and driver were friendly and professional, it became immediately clear that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. The movers have been at our 1700 square foot townhome now for over three hours, and do not yet have even half of our items in the truck. We just had to get a uhaul for the afternoon because they will not be able to get everything moved for us today. We are extremely dissatisfied and really wish we would have gone with a legitimate moving company. read more
