They were late on arrival and I had unloaded 1/2 of a 15' U-Haul truck when they arrived they were unprofessional did not speak good english and it took them 1 1/2 hours to unload 1/2 a truck. They had 2 hours to unload and where extremely slow they came from Messolar Moving company to unload my Uhaul. I would not recommend using Bellhop unloading services. If I had not stayed ontop of them they would have gone over the 2 hours to unload 1/2 of a truck and then I would have been charged another $147. Do not use this company. read more

They moved me in back in February and caused a massive ~mass gouge in my hardwood floors right at the front entrance -- the first thing you see when you walk in. I provided them with a detailed inventory list of every single piece of furniture in my house and the quantity of boxes they needed to move. 3 days before the scheduled move they contacted me saying they misquoted and it was going to be an additional $200 per hour (scheduled for 10 hours so $2,000). I said absolutely not, you had more than enough information to quote this properly and you also are coming to me 3 days before my move which gives me zero time to even secure another moving company. As you can imagine, because I said no, they put huge holes in the walls, severely scratched the floors (brand new home), shattered a mirror, shattered the glass on a bar cart, shattered a side table, lost the hardware for the bed frames, and severely scratched our leather sofa we invested in. They had zero respect for our belongings and new home. And when I contacted claims, they offered me $400! Lily in their support department has zero empathy towards customers. I asked her how she even came up with this number and she said it's a percentage based on weight of the items. She did not even have dimensions or any details to even come up with the weight- it was completely made up and I was supposed to be accepting of it. In June i was sold a move and told that the completion of the move would take place from our storage unit to our house when we are ready. Our move was flat rate. And i was told that the second part would be under $1000. At no time did anyone say the second part of the move would be hourly. ***i even called before our June move to make sure it was a flat fee and asked what happens if they take longer. You should be able to find this communication. *** I called and asked for the completion of our move in September. I asked the person to look at the list of our previous move and tell me the time and number of people to send. He did tell me the hourly cost but i thought (just like last time) that he was just calculation our total verbally. I agreed to the total and asked if that was enough people and enough time to complete the move and he said yes. The movers arrived to our storage unit at 9:20am and did not finish packing our things until after 1pm. It was a first floor unit with no elevator or stairs. They arrived at the house at between 1-2 and we were all completely shocked it too then so long. **they did not have to wrap or pad a single item** They got to the house and i was shocked that they didn't have anything to help them lift anything because they were all so small and struggled to carry more than one box at a time! I even started unloading the truck myself because i couldn't believe how slow they were. They were very nice people- but had trouble carrying every single thing in! It was a struggle! **they did not unwrap any of the items. And they left 60% in one room we are using for storage. A very small amount of the items were taken to their rooms and they did not put anything together. I was also told they would put all beds together (see June recording) and they did not put a single bed together NOR did they unroll a single rug. I say all of this to explain that we did not ask them to do anything more than move things from the storage unit into the house. That's it- and they were so slow that it took them far far far longer than anyone would reasonably expect. O did not complain about it because i thought it was a flat rate move. Then without any receipt or any notification- my card was charged and extra $650 with no notification and no receipt provided. These guys are horrible. Movers in California were high, and I caught one smoking meth in the bathroom. Not to mention two hours late. They dropped an antique dresser loading it without blankets or any kind of protection. I called customer service but they refused to help. Fast forward to the new place in Tennessee. Drivers were two days late, saying they "ran out of gas" AND "had a flat tire" Really? As the movers (three out of four showed up, after two hours waiting for them to drive from Nashville), they dropped my computer cpu, destroying it. The truck was so horribly packed, that everything rolled around inside, causing damage to alot of items. Then, after two hours, the movers just left, causing me, my son an cousin to unload the rest of the truck in the dark, while the drivers just stood there smoking cigarettes they put out on my garage floor. They arrived one hour late, and one less person. Before they arrived, we had moved all of the boxed to the elevator all they had to do was carry the boxes one foot onto the elevator and from the elevator to their truck. They moved about 20% of our stuff, and BROKE 4 pieces of furniture, and when they ran out of time, they left my belongings on the curb, in the rain..... If I could give no stars, I would. Bellhop moved some of our heavier items (washer/dryer, 2 fridges, a treadmill, etc) in July 2023. The truck was almost 40 minutes late arriving because Bellhop dispatch sent them the wrong address. The team arrived with no tools (blankets, straps, furniture or appliance dollies, etc.) so they were ill equipped to handle a move of any kind. One of their movers dropped our washing machine not once but TWICE. The first time, I was assured the washer was fine/not damaged, the second time, the mover dropped to the ground and rolled around like a scalded dog because he dropped (not placed) the washer on his toe. Not only did they drop the washer, they dropped a $1,500 treadmill on hardwood floors, they also dropped and damaged a cherry chest of drawers. The driver assisted intermittently to keep the team on schedule, which ended up being a failed endeavor as it took them 10+ hours to complete the move. I am now battling back and forth with their customer service team lead, Jack Dent, regarding the broken washer. An initial claim was filed against the other items, which had noticeable damage. That claim was "closed" and Bellhop is refusing to address the issue of the broken washing machine (the entire drum was broken away from the inside of the washer, due to their negligence) because the first claim was closed. We were not aware of any damage to the washer since it was placed in storage, by their movers, with the assurance it had not been damaged in their possession. Bottomline - do NOT do business with the movers at Bellhop if you have any desire for your items to arrive unscathed and in working order. Run far and run fast. EDIT: Bellhop is unwilling to consider that additional damages were found when the items were retrieved from storage. Their policy that one claim submittal, particularly when their employees assured us the washer was not broken yet it was, is faulty and pathetic customer service. The alleged settlement was of no monetary value. They took a reduced moving bill, increased the price tag again, then deducted the alleged "settlement" from that number. We never saw a dime to replace the things they damaged. I will continue to post the ineptitude of this company across all platforms, regardless of what they think covered the initial damages. Only one of the scheduled three movers showed up to unload a cross-country move for me and my family. I had to enlist the help of one of the mover's brothers to help as well as the truck driving team to assist with the move. Bellhop has been and continues to be incredibly difficult to get in touch with to discuss reimbursement. Ethics are called into question as they were trying to "hire" one of the volunteers during the middle of the move, as to try and defend charging the full amount. I'm requesting to speak with someone who has the authority to discuss and issue reimbursement but you all continue to handle the situation poorly and it's a pure reflection of your product and service. I do not recommend Bellhop (this was my third time using them) and highly suggest going with a more reputable partner in the space. read more

They get you with the slick technology and the easy scheduling of a move; however where they trap you and ruin your life is by not executing on what is promised and customer service that never calls or responds back to you. The amount of time I have spent calling and emailing Bellhop Moving has been a massive waste of time. First off, when I scheduled my move I explicitly said that I have a three bedroom, three bathroom house with garage that we would need moved. Zero calls in advance of the move (problem #1). The night before I got a text from the team lead that they would need to be done by 11am (3 hours to move a 3 bedroom house??? - problem #2) and there were no exceptions. I asked if they didn't complete what would happened and he pretty much said that this always happens and the schedulers are terrible (not exact words). Come the move....which can I just say moving with an infant and a dog is less than ideal....they didn't complete the job (problem #3). Our entire garage was full of boxes and furniture. When I called customer service and also spoke to the team lead manager they said they would handle it. Well handling it to them means that they charge me for another move two days later. What would have happened if we didn't have flexibility? This company will leave you in a pinch and have no care about it. In addition, we had a couple of pieces of furniture damaged including a west elm entertainment center. Their quotes for damages are comical (problem #4). After countless calls, emails and talking to people who never follow up, I'm at my wits end. They will not send me the call recordings which I have asked for repeatedly. On April 11, I was told I'd receive a call back at 10am EST on April 12 and it is 9:45am CST and still no call. At this point, I am going to file a claim with my credit card company as fraudulent charges since it should be on them to complete the move that they did not properly schedule and plan for. Our movers were slow moving only our furniture from one apartment to another 1 mile apart. My wife and I had moved everything except what we were not able to carry prior to our big moving day. The movers were quite nice, however, and pleasant to work with. The worst part about Bellhops comes after the move actually happened. My wife and I went over to our old apartment to cover up and Magic Eraser any dents or dings on the walls and we were greeted with a deep gouge into a door. This was never reported to us by our movers and so we contacted Bellhop's customer support for assistance once our security deposit was charged for this damage. Bellhop told us that because it was over 5 days after our move, essentially it wasn't covered. We weren't able to go over to our old apartment until a week after our move. We responded asking for clarification and if an exemption could be made as we were not made aware of the damage - and we have yet to hear back from Bellhop for multiple weeks, after sending multiple emails. LESS THAN 48 HOURS... telling me they need to move my reserved time frame all the way to 2PM unless I can PROVIDE MY OWN TRUCK. I rarely write reviews on Yelp, but felt I should share my absolutely terrible experience with this company. I hired Bellhops to move my larger furniture from one apartment to another in the same complex. There was a queen bed with frame, two night stands, a sleeper sofa, a medium chest of drawers, a desk, and a few other small items all less than one year old with no damage. When I called in, the man over the phone quoted me at two hours for two guys. He even tried talking me out of using a truck for the move! I assured him the truck was necessary. The movers were nice younger guys, but it was like watching college kids move dorm furniture. They had no plan and bumped many of my items into things on the way out. The movers took nearly 5 HOURS to complete the move, MORE THAN DOUBLE the quoted time and cost. To make matters worse, they destroyed two glass tops they insisted on packing, even though I was hesitant to allow them to move them. They also destroyed my less than one year old sleeper sofa. They wasted nearly an hour trying to jam the sofa into the elevator in my building, even though I told them and the original man I spoke with on the phone that the men who delivered it new had to use the steps. They finally relented and used the steps. By the time it was delivered it had holes all around the edges and the covering was coming apart from jamming into and through door frames improperly. The Bellhops claims process only allows for .70 per pound of items damaged, so this move not only cost me more than double the quoted price, but the sofa and tops will have to be replaced out of my pocket! I have moved nearly two dozen times in my life and can honestly say BELLHOPS IS THE WORST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. I just needed some stuff moved between floors in my home and reached out to 4 moving companies, including Bellhops. I explained exactly what I needed and estimated the time at 1 hour. I requested pricing and availability for the coming Thursday afternoon. Everyone got back to me with the specific info I requested, except Bellhops who said "call us for pricing and scheduling." I hate it when companies do that but I called and was on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up and emailing again asking for the hourly rate and availability. They never responded. They did not tools, moving blackets, or straps to secure furniture in the truck. Not all of the furniture that i had requested to be moved when i scheduled was moved. Please heed the bad reviews here y'all, I truly wish I did because they were unfortunately right on the money. Bellhops has been the worst moving company I have ever hired, and I've had to hire several for around 9-10 moves in my life. To start, the movers showed up without bringing a standard tool set which includes a power drill. I've never hired movers who didn't come with appropriate equipment. They weren't able to dissemble my bed due to a stripped screw and having brought no tools, and sat on the floor of my apartment for an hour and a half and just gave up. Their solution was to leave it. As this was obviously not an option, I had to problem solve this for them and had a neighbor come over who figured out how to dissemble the bed in around 10 minutes. So they've now wasted just about two hours because they didn't bring proper tools or have appropriate technical know-how, which led to us missing our elevator reservation at the new building. This was another hour and a half of down time (which could have been avoided had they have been prepared and skilled). All in all, it took them 8 hours to move my 800 square foot apartment 1.5 miles down the road. I've done this move several times, and it takes no more than 2.5 hours. They also didn't wrap all my furniture which means I am uncovering many, many scratches as I dive deeper in unpacking. I've never worked with such an ill-prepared and unskilled moving company. It was shameful, and the behavior of their customer service team after the fact is further driving that home. This company charged me for eight hours, and then said the best they could do was take two hours off. This is simply unacceptable given the added time was due to their incompetence. For a company who is heavily investing in social media/influencer marketing, they should know better than to advertise a product that doesn't work. Word of advice, pull back on spend, fix your operations and customer care departments, then start promoting once you have something worth promoting. I had a terrible experience with Bellhops in Nashville, On the morning of my scheduled move, I was told they did not have a truck due to negligence on their part. I could not reschedule so I had to rent a UHaul truck and drive it to the move location. The two Bellhops movers loaded the UHaul and then followed me to the final location where they unloaded the truck. Being unfamiliar with driving a large box truck and unfamiliar with the condo building, I hit an overhang at the building, causing extensive damage which I am now liable for. Additionally, Bellhops agreed to pay the cost of the UHaul (they did not) and they tried to charge me for the hour and 1/2 that I spent driving back and forth from the UHaul dealership. If I could give these crooks a negative star rating, I would. They did not send enough men or a large enough truck for our move, even though I had explicitly given them a thorough inventory of what we needed moved. Here's the whole story: they showed up with a 26' truck and a three man crew, which we thought was small, but whatever. They're the professionals, right? They started by loading all of our boxes -- they explained that's how they always start. Not long after they'd started, one of them admitted to me that he didn't think the truck was going to be big enough. "When I saw the inventory, I was surprised they only sent one truck and crew," he said. We expressed our concern to the lead guy about getting everything done. He told us that he'd contacted the office, and they were working on getting us a second truck and crew ("sometimes they get a 3rd party truck for really big jobs," we were told, and "we only have 2 trucks, and the other one's booked elsewhere.") Later, they even told us that all three of them would happily come back the next day to finish whatever didn't get done. In retrospect, we should have known better, but, again, they're the professionals. They moved excruciatingly slowly, hardly employing a dolly at all, rather opting to carry each box one or two at a time -- so they were clearly getting paid by the hour. At one point the "captain" sat on the phone for 10 minutes while the other two guys sat around waiting for him. I asked if I'm paying for this, and one of the worker bees told me where to complain. So after they'd loaded and moved nearly all the boxes and only a few pieces of furniture, they told us they had to run to another job, but I would be hearing from a "Trey" who would sort everything out for the next day. And they left. Mind you, all we had here were piles of boxes and a scant few pieces of furniture. Everything else (our clothes, our beds, our food) were still at the old place. We didn't have so much as a chair to sit on. Eventually, we heard from this Trey character, who explained that we'd have to book another whole move...which they said they couldn't do until FOUR DAYS LATER. We were screwed. We had paid them $1,500 for this move! This culminated in a rather colorful phone call during which Trey basically blamed us for the whole situation and ultimately had his supervisor call us -- who was absolutely no help, btw (the best he offered was a 20% refund and the advisement that if we weren't happy, "find another moving company." Yes...direct quote.) So we were left scrambling to rent a uhaul for the next day and managed to hire two AMAZING helping hands from Browns moving. Even they were blown away when we told them how the previous day had gone down. They looked around the new place and said, "they charged you $1,500 for this??" These two guys and a 15' uhaul (all we could get) were able to accomplish more than the Bellhop clowns in their 26' truck had the day before...albeit, it required a few trips). So, in short...DO NOT hire these guys. They are not honest or dependable, and you may very well find yourselves all the way across town (or even further away) without a bed to sleep on and out $1K+. Don't say you were not warned. Do yourselves a favor and call Browns instead. You'll be very thankful you did. read more

Luke F. responded to my review stating that they are looking into the matter to determine what they can do to make this right, but that was a week ago. I have not been contacted via phone, text, email, or snail mail. Beware of this company. They do not provide adequate replacement value for your damaged or destroyed property. I changed my review to only one star since I was told they were trying to help, but never did anything else. Very poor and disappointment customer service. So, after posting my update I received an email telling me that they should not have moved my grill without me signing a waiver. They advertise on their site that they don't move items over 300 pounds-the grill is 230. Either way, nobody mentioned a waiver or that they should not move it. This is the first time, even through the damage claim process, that it was ever mentioned that they were not supposed to move the item. They were happy to move it. They have now issued back $150 as a way to "make it right." I have still be reimbursed less than half the cost to replace my property. Apparently this should suffice as fair compensation. What a joke. Steer clear and find another moving company. It's quite convenient and infuriating that they want to try to place blame on me that this was moved and then act like they have done me some sort of favor by reimbursing me at such a poor rate. read more

We had a terrible experience with Bellhop. We booked a month in advance and when our moving day came no one ever showed up. It took 2 hours for customer service to even be able to tell us they weren't coming, so we were waiting around without any answers for hours. We were stuck having to rent a truck and do the move ourselves. It's one thing for the movers to cancel or not show up, but the way the company had no answers for us and couldn't do anything to help was unacceptable. I would strongly caution to not use this service. read more

WARNING - DO NOT USE BELLHOPS. RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!! Damaged property. Damaged furniture. No quality. No experience. Charged more than twice the estimate. Unreasonable terms and conditions. High school kids used as movers. We had to actually help the movers with packing the truck, moving furniture, removing the front door, advice on how to move items, etc. Truck driver took 30 minutes to back into the driveway. Lift broke and hydraulic oil spilled all over my driveway and driver didn't care. read more
