First of all, my movers never showed up on the day my move was scheduled, and I was forced to move to another day which was not convenient at all due to my work schedule and time frame to get out of my apartment. Secondly, I thought the move went well...only to realize a few weeks later while still unpacking that my workout mirror, valued over $1,000 did not make it in my house, and I remembered the movers asking me about it and what it was. Because I did not realize within 5 days, Bellhop was not willing to open any sort of investigation. Whether it was the movers or the driver's choice, or perhaps it even got accidentally left on the truck, this is unacceptable and I will never feel safe using Bellhop, and I have advised my network of the same. read more

It was never communicated with me that at 6 hours, whether all my things were moved or not, the workers were officially done. I was only told this 15 minutes before their day was done and only once I approached the team lead to inquire about the other things. We still had enough furniture at the other place to fill an 18 ft truck that had to be moved. At the last minute, per the workers advice, we had to scramble to rent our own truck and find help. ok so I got the offer for my damages which was nothing more than a insult! they offered me 60.00 on a dresser that is way more than that. they don't seem to understand that if the dresser is moved it will collapse due to the damage that their mover caused! I again called n asked to speak to someone in billing. I was left on hold for 10 minutes n then disconnected. if they were good business people they would adjust the bill but once they get your money you're screwed! Had a labor only move. Timely arrival, fast move, but careless. Make sure you get the unlimited protection package. For some reason I was expecting them to be more professional, but due to a table that was too big and unpadded (my roommate didn't pad it), the table damaged/took off a chunk of the stair's trim and dented deep into the wall. His bagged mattress was gripped too strongly and their fingers punched holes into the bottom of the mattress. I think this should be covered under the protection package, but due to my roommate's last minute request to add his load, I didn't inspect everything so damages were done. And no way out without buying the package. Oh well, lesson learned. I'm going with a professional mover that would also pack the stuff properly next time. read more

We have had an absolutely horrific experience with this company. We hired them to have 4 movers plus driver for 6 hours, we ended up with 3 movers and a driver for about 3 hours. What we ended up with is extensive damages to BOTH homes and our furniture. We had our new home painted before moving in and they did almost $900 worth of damages to the paint job with their carelessness, they put deep gouges in to our stone inlay book shelves, and dropped our brand-new king-size mattress on the ground after they removed the protective cover. They did not tie any of our furniture down or use any furniture covers, our new house is only ten minutes away from the old house. When we contacted the claims department they considered all of this and offered us $545. Once it became obvious we were wasting our time arguing with the company since they claimed they go by weight of the item and not cost to actually repair. We had several back and forth emails with the claims department and they agreed to send the claim payment via check since we had paid with a credit card that has since been paid off. So we signed off on the claim. Wouldn't you know I just got a notification that they sent a credit to the credit card. This company absolutely does not care about your belongings nor will they actually do what they say they will do. If I could give them zero stars or NEGATIVE stars I would. Devin and Joseph were my bellhops last week. Unfortunately, it was the first day of classes at NCSU and our "captain" was late arriving. Both guys were very nice young men and anxious to do a good job. I set the fast pace and had to wait on them a few times to catch up with me. It would behoove Bellhops to do a bit more training on the proper way to use a handtruck. Neither guy handled the two I had very well and Joseph hit the walls twice - both times with no load. Horrible experience. I ordered 2 movers and a truck for 2 hours. At the time the move was supposed to start, 3 guys and no truck show up. They tell me to call customer service to try and get it fixed. I sat on hold for over an HOUR. They told me there was nothing they could do. All of their trucks were booked and I'd have to reschedule my move for 5 days later or go buy a Uhaul and maybe they would reimburse me. It was ridiculous. Customer service offered no help at all and expected me to deal with the fallout and still pay full price. The moving guys were amazing but they said this happens all the time. I rated this company 5 stars 2 years ago; they were amazing. Fast forward to a week and a half ago when we hired them again for our most recent move. Totally different experiance. The guys were slow, one time I walked in and they were just sitting around talking. They were horrible at unloading things, just threw things in our storage at the new place. I told them they could put stuff in there but they chose to put obvious boxes of food outside in the storage unit and everything was just tossed in. The driver of the truck I hired from the same company was inside the truck with all our stuff smoking. I contacted the company and they "made it right" with a $40 bill credit. They went over 3 hours, were late, and I paid $119 per hour over the initial 3 hours we hired them for. The last time they went over too but only by 45 minutes and they worked the entire time. I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 because I had a great experience the first time and I hope this was just a fluke and not reflection of all their moves. Knocking one star because only one of the movers showed up so I had to help the mover with big stuff as he couldn't move a mattress and other stuff on his own. The mover that did show up, James, was very friendly and super apologetic about it!! He even asked the truck drivers if they would help so I didn't have to but the truck drivers didn't seem to eager to help. James gets 5 starts for sure!! Awful. I am embarrassed that I decided to hire this company. I hired Bellhop just for manual labor to move some items to our third floor that we could not move ourselves. The most important being a desk that belonged to my grandparents. From the start, the two people assigned to this job seemed to have no care or concern for my items, walls, or hardwood floors. They seemed unwilling to keep my items level, which led to multiple dents and scratches in our walls. There are also several scratches on the back of the desk. Not to be outdone, they scratched our hardwood floors in three different places and somehow managed to break a picture frame. Tip of the iceberg here because one mover, after declining a band-aid when offered, BLED on our carpet after cutting his finger. I felt LeVar, the lead, was more competent than Collin, who mentioned this was his first job. I'm extremely displeased and hope the claims process is better than their actual moving service. read more

Definitely not a professional moving company. My wife called these guys after a friend referred them. We needed one piece of furniture moved from the first floor of our house to a second floor bedroom. The 2 guys that showed up came in separate cars and didn't even know each other had no moving equipment, straps or blankets. Right from the beginning you could tell by the way they tried to carry it up the steps without covering anything there was going to be issues. They attempted moving it and damaged the walls, our Brazilian cherry stair case and the piece of furniture. After nearly having them drop it over the sides of the stairs I made them bring it down and call the office. The office called back after about 45 minutes and actually asked if I could help them with moving the piece up the steps. I didn't want them to attempt another try and I definitely wasn't going to help them after calling for a moving service.After talking to the person at the call center for the third time they guys left and stated they didn't have any supervisor to call they only answer to an app like Uber for movers. I was told by the person at the call center someone would call me back in about 10 minutes to try and resolve the issue. They left the piece of furniture in my foyer and that was 3 days ago and I still haven't received a phone call from anyone. P.S. I hired a local professional mover who professionally wrapped the furniture, the stairs and anything else that could potentially get damaged without us even asking them to and they had the piece in the exact spot in the room we wanted it in about 15 minutes total. read more

The experience was absolutely horrid, unprofessional and mentally stressful. I have never experienced customer service this bad. They left wrapped furniture, stated they were not returning to to pick it up, left without my knowledge, improperly unloaded at a storage building, left boxes outside in the open and did not notify me, was dishonest about being unable to reach me after I had spoken with them several times by phone, stated this was all due to having another "job to go to". Offerpad got involved and had to pay another moving company to "fix" the mess they left. Apparently Bellhop does poor to no vetting of the people they hire. This places customers like myself in a dangerous and harmful situation because we allow these people into our personal spaces assuming they are reputable professionals who can be trusted to do a job. Instead, the experience left me feeling personally violated and dissatisfied that Bellhop did not remedy the issue, leaving us stranded and stunned by the entire event. Luckily Offerpad assisted us. If it hasn't already happened, I suspect a customer will eventually be physically harmed by someone hired by Bellhop. I never heard of Bellhop prior to working with Offerpad but I hope Offerpad choses another moving service to work with because this type of behavior has a direct effect on how they are viewed. Last but not least, I hope that if there is any moral compass and social responsibility within Bellhop, that the company/people they used to move us will be fired/terminated. read more

Awesome business! Cheapest way to get help with moving. Most moving companies want 3 hours minimum, pay extra for movers to drive there and back, and want to pack up for you. This was the best move and most cost effective move I have ever had and I have moved over 20 times! Wyatt and Carrington were so great to work with. They arrived on time (10 minutes early) and worked very hard to keep the time at an hour and half. I had extremely high hopes based on the reviews and how easy it was to book. However, things did not go well. The move took 8.5 hours - and that was only because one of the guys had to leave to go to his 2nd job. I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment so it's not like I have a ton of stuff. And this included me making multiple trips back and forth with a dolly full of stuff while the movers were moving other items. We finally got to the new place after nearly 6 hours. Since the movers were out of time, they dumped all the boxes in the dining room and left without putting the bed back together. They created multiple holes in walls and managed to damage an LCD TV (screen didn't crack, but picture is busted). I have filed a claim with the company for the damages. Another issue is that the pricing was never fully explained to me. If I had known that I would pay $39/hour for a truck with a driver who sat in the cab and played on his phone because he was not allowed to help, I would have rented a U-Haul myself. Overall, this move cost me ~$1000 and I ended up having to have my dad and brother move boxes and put the bed back together. Only positive is that the guys were punctual, polite, and hardworking. read more

Outstanding company that provided exactly the service I needed. I had friends move my things out of my apartment in Chicago and into a big truck, which I then drove to Raleigh. But on the other end, I didn't know anyone, and didn't want to spend a lot to move the few things I couldn't move myself.
