I purchased a 2020 f150 with every possible extended warranty, boy did I need it. That was literally the biggest pile of absolute junk I've ever unfortunately owned. It was in 8 times in 2 years. Many times without a service loaner, when I did get a service loaner, it was because I raised holy hell. Many times I was without my truck that I rely on for my business for two week periods. I was told many times that excessive engine oil consumption is normal, and I should be happy the repair lasted a year. Well... I'm not. And I went old school Toyota to make sure when I turn the key, it works. I will never, NEVER buy a ford again. I can't afford to have the downtime and lack of service vehicle, I was there so often I should have had my own coffee cup and frequent flyer miles. Repairs and concerns included: -Door lock (to their credit, fixed immediately after purchase) -water pump replacement -two separate incidents of the front differential needing resealed and repaired on the same passenger side -oil consumption issues -initial transmission trouble -catastrophic transmission failure 2 weeks after "repair" that left me broken down and with permanent damage to the transmission. This vehicle was purchased with 51,000 miles, had an almost 4k canopy installed, and I took an absolute bath trading it in to get rid of the nightmare at 71,000 miles. Never, never again. I have owned 5 ford vehicles, they have always been great. No more. The planned obsolescence, and "features" are a detriment. Get back to reliability Ford, consumers want reliable vehicles. read more

Whatever you do, do not get your car serviced here! We brought our car in for a noise issue, the service department said we needed new brakes and gave us an extraordinary high quote. We then took it to two other shops, both of whom said the brakes were not the problem. We told the service department this and they told us WE had our story mixed up. They then still charged us for the diagnostic fee which was the wrong diagnosis in the first place! Whatever you do, take your car to any other shop in town! They up charge you and the service is awful! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my car to Bellingham Ford after calling ahead and being assured they could help reassemble part of my engine block (I already had all the parts, some brand new). I had my car towed to their shop, and then it sat there for four months. During that time, I called, emailed, and even showed up in person multiple times, only to be told each time that "there are a lot of cars in front of yours." After months of zero real communication or updates, I was finally told they couldn't do the work after all and that I'd "just need a whole new engine" -- with a quote of $13,500 for parts and labor. I never received an initial quote, never received updates, and was blindsided with that information after months of waiting. When I declined, they accused me of attempting to abandon my car in their lot, even though I had been the one constantly reaching out trying to get answers. The last person I spoke with was also rude, which only added to an already awful experience. In short: no communication, no accountability, and no respect for the customer's time or money. Overall experience was nice until you arrive at the financing department. I had a great sale person Bones, he was great. Financing called me to state protocol to retrieve the car for non payment. " car was already paid, it was an error on their part. I did not get an apology for calling in error but a manager that was using profanity to tell me how wrong I was. I understand we all make mistakes but ending up being cursed at is a hard pass for me. If it is for you as well I would take my business somewhere else. Made an appointment a week in advance. I asked how long it would be and they said about an hour. I brought my car in 10 minutes prior to the appointment and said I would be back in about an hour. I came back 1 hour and 45 minutes and they said - "Hmm, I don't know where it is let me go look." 5 minutes later he comes back - "Well, we were backed up and they are just bringing your car in to start now." I said give me my flipping car now, I have an appointment to get to. Guy just shrugged and said, Ok... Will not go back. He saw the Tennessee plate and figured I was passing through I guess. I come up at least once maybe twice a year. Will drive to Mount Vernon for car service here even though all family and friends are in Bellingham... Very poor service. read more

I went to test drive a f450 they had listed for 45k, i didnt even make it out of the lot and the truck derated power and dropped down to 15mph on the freeway! The truck needed a new turbo and had a oil leak. I left and they said they were going to look into the trucks issues and get back to me, mind you, they listed this truck as ready to work. About a week later I ask what they have done about the truck, salesman said they are putting a new turbo on and would let me know when its ready. But as far as the oil leak is concerned that is "as is " I thought ok that is fair. At this point I'm ready to go write a check for this truck. After three weeks the salesman gets in touch with me to tell me the truck is done but they raised the price on me 5K! I was completely pissed the fact they wasted my time to even go look at this truck they advertise as working but when it didn't work they raise the price! I will never do business with this dealer, I guess they should've inspected the truck better and made repairs before even posting. read more

All I need right now from this dealership is their service department, but I'd rather buy a new car than go back. Walk into the service area, 5 employees chatting in two different groups. No "hello we'll be with you in a moment", no "hello" at all. After waiting and listening to their casual conversations, I actually had to interrupt just to find out the guy on the right was supposed to take service appointments. I'm almost two hours into waiting for an oil change, I can't even tell you how the important people, the mechanics, are doing. The staff does look like they are having a good time, so I'm guessing their indeed rating are great! read more

I've been shopping for Ford bronco for almost 2 years now. I've had a deposit down since 2020 Ever since the raptor trim came out I've definitely been interested. Bellingham Ford has one. However, they want $40,000 over MSRP. that is so predatory and disgusting. You'd hope that nobody would pay that but somebody probably will. I currently have a 2021 Toyota forerunner Trd pro. I shopped this and finally bought it from Doxon Toyota. This dealership is well south of Bellingham. Reason I did this? Because Bellingham Toyota was also trying to mark up their vehicles, well above MSRP, while Doxon sold the vehicle at MSRP. Don't give Bellingham Ford your business. Demand better! This dealership is the biggest con job I've seen. I went in to look at a new ford bronco that they had, I was looking to trade in my car as well and I had to basically beg for them to get my appraisal even though I had an appointment. The salesman John (Vanna maybe?) never took me seriously as a customer, and made me feel unwanted. He took the appointment down, had me drive in and then told me he won't appraise a fully paid off 2019 in great condition. Another employee came over when he saw that I wasn't being treated right and simmered things down. Anyways, they also wanted $10,000 over MSRP and swore it was "the best deal in town" even while I showed them pictures of broncos all over that were not marked up. After that I got up, drove to Harris ford in Lynwood and got a brand new ford bronco for MSRP! Full warranty and I didn't even have to fight to get the appraisal done! read more

Bought a 2013 Ford Edge from this Dealership with a 6 month/6,000 mile 50/50 Warranty. We spent 6 months diagnosing a noise from the Front of the car. Master Mechanics couldn't figure it out!! Ended up taking it to a local Garage and find out the PTU is going bad. Needless to say...I called BF and left a message about a quote for replacement and received no return call. Ended up using the local Garage and spent $3,000 to fix the issue. I'm very disappointed with the service at BF and honestly...I will NEVER do business with them again!!! Epic FAIL!!! Note: I am adding this bit to my original review because (1)the GM, Julian, was kind enough to respond to me in a very polite manner and (2) I feel that some of my language does not represent my typical self and I regret it. To wit: my comment about the commercial being "fake snooty" was uncalled for and should never have been said. Also, please keep in mind that this review does NOT cover Bellingham Ford's actual repair work because I did not get in. It's been adequate to very good in the past and I have no real reason to think that it wouldn't be at the VERY least satisfactory. Because I feel the review included an unfair comment and ONLY covers the pre-service experience, I have changed my rating to "ok" -- This is strictly about customer experience, and I recognize that others' experiences may be much different so please take this with a grain of salt. And to Julian G., thank you for treating my comment with grace and I apologize for what may have seemed to you as a personal attack. It really bothered me to think you may have seen it that way. I sincerely apologize for that. --- original review -- I used to take my Mustang in to the dealership before it changed hands, and all was good. I could make an appointment online reliably and show up knowing my car would be seen... I have taken it in since the management change and it was... different. I didn't feel confident that they weren't trying to inflate the amount of work needed and they tried to upsell me and I absolutely hate that. And the commercials they air *really* put me off... it's like fake snooty. Despite that, I was still ok with the dealship... Fast forward to now. I made an appointment online because my Mustang was having a serious issue that made it dangerous to drive. Although the online confirmation said the service manager would be in touch with me shortly, that never happened. Thinking it was just a miscommunication or I'd missed a phone call, I took the car in for the appointment I'd scheduled online. They had NO record of my appointment, but I could be scheduled for another day two weeks away... Now I don't know about you, but I really hesitate to drive cars that have dangerous issues going on. I mean, I'll skate by with a failing alternator, but this was a major clutch issue, and I rely on my car. Yeah, I took the appointment because by that point I was a bit miffed and wasn't really thinking about it... and immediately drove the car (such as it was) to Trottner's, who not only took the car in without an appointment, but had the issue fixed the next day -- even though they had to work on it around their previously-scheduled appointments. The Mustang still has another issue that needs to be addressed -- another $700 worth of work, I'm told -- but I am not taking it in for that appointment I scheduled. I'm cancelling that and trading in the car. And NOT at that dealership -- it's got a weird vibe and I don't feel comfortable that I'd get my best deal there. I had an excellent car buying experience at Bellingham Ford. Shawn, Michelle and Jack were all extremely polite and helpful, and very pleasant to work with. I had a very specific and unusual requirement for the car. The team at Bellingham Ford didn't tell me "no." On the contrary, the all adopted a can-do attitude and went above and beyond the call to make the deal work. That was somewhat unexpected, because in the current environment where there is almost no new inventory, they might have told me to take it or leave it. Instead, they worked hard to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I got a vehicle that I really like (I like it more every time I drive it) and I feel like I got a fair price and a square deal. My family has had problems with this Service Department at Diehl Ford and now Bellingham Ford on more than one occasion. Jillian, the GM, is a VERY personable person to work with. I've enjoyed talking with him. But, he's the face of the company, while the Service Department is the body. I have had several terrible experiences with this Service Department, most recently under the management of Julian. Mis-diagnosing issues and charging our family to replace parts that don't need to be replaced. Front hubs (both on a F350) and a $1000+ repair of replacing a 1.5 year old CV Axel on my wife's MKX were two of the parts that we were told needed replaced. After taking these parts to other highly reputable shops in Whatcom County, I found out that only one hub needed to be replaced and that the CV Axle was in good shape. I was also told by two different reputable repair shop owners that they would recommend we go anywhere but Bellingham Ford. I left a message for Julian and had no type of response. Julian, you told me you'd take care of our family since you'd taken over the business. You failed and do did your Service Department. Your people took advantage of our family. Julian, I still have the good parts if you would like to defend your Service Department. I wish you the best. read more

I'm really torn here because I've had great service with them before but I went to go get my oil changed and most employees in the service department were either not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. Social distancing wasn't enforced, counters weren't wiped down and it really felt like pushing the minimum to be legally open was tried which was really disappointing. The problem is this impacts other businesses around them, not just Ford. If a customer or employee gets covid there it impacts all of our local businesses. Edit: to reply to the owners reply. I can take pictures. Employees were not doing what you are saying they do. There wasn't spacing in the waiting area, there weren't people cleaning after customers. So I think there needs to be better communication, better enforcement and or better monitoring. read more

I have a 2002 F350 and I had a squealing noise. I changed the alternator and the idle tensioner just this week. The squeal was getting worse. I wear hearing aids and I can't locate the source of the noise. Upon arrival the service manager walked out to my car and pointed out what she thought was the issue. I went to buy the part and the parts manager offered to have a master technician come out and listen to the issue. I wish I could remember names, but I just can't. This older gentleman (obviously a master in his trade) pointed out the same thing as the service manager but also gave me a way to validate it. Removing a belt on this truck is exceptionally simple and can be done on 30 seconds. I removed the belt and ran the test he suggested. Now I knew the problem was what he said. Unfortunately I'm only here for the weekend and live a couple of hours south. They didn't have the parts I needed today, but told me where to get them locally. The repair was easy now that I knew the problem and rbe fix (a new belt tensioner) From the service manager to the parts manager to the master tech, EVERYONE WAS AMAZING, HELPFUL AND KIND. I have never had such a good experience at any dealer anywhere. I wish I lived closer, I'd go there all the time. read more

This is the worst dealership I've ever been to. The service department is useless, no communication whatsoever. They've had my car for a business week (dropped it off in the after hours lot over the weekend), and have said they'd have my car looked at by Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. It's now Friday. They say they're looking at it but haven't provided any updates. I've had to call probably 10 times, with either them not picking up, or putting me on hold for 15 minutes. Just to hear back from them with the same response "we haven't looked at it quite yet". Also, they found my car with both front doors wide open, and said they would email me the surveillance tape. They haven't. I've reminded them twice. I would like to know if anything was stolen (nothing from what I could see but maybe I forgot something was in there). Would rate zero stars if I could. read more

I serviced my car ( changed the engine oil) with this branch (James St) twice and i am disappointed twice. My car is Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium. Recently after they done changing the oil, I entered my car, I could smell very strong oil. I thought they probably spilled it while they pouring it or filling it up. So I drove it away. The next day, the smell was gone. But after I drove the car, I could smell it again. I thought probably the A/C ( heater) that bring the smells into the car. So turned it off but can't for long time because my windshield started foggy and I can't see clearly. It's dangerous and I feels cold in this weather so I let the heater running. My kids could smell it too and they dislike the smells. I called Ford Bellingham and complained about it. They said i need to bring it for diagnosis and leave the car for the whole day. I requested for a free charge to check it out but they said NO. I will need to pay $175 perhour. OMG!! I was surprised how much it would cost me if I leave my car that long!! So I decided not to sent it for diagnosis. I felt dizzy inhaled the smells for few hours yesterday. I stopped driving and asking my friend help to check the car. We were surprised to find out that the lid ( cap) for the engine oil was missing and the oil messed everywhere on the engine and the inner hood. The engine oil was very low. This is dangerous for my safety and health as I was driving long distance to Seattle and Mount Vernon recently. The previous service ( my 1st with them) was they makes mistakes writing on the reminder sticker and mileage that I need to come back in 3 months time but actually i purchased the expensive oil which should last for 6 months but it's was too late because they already drained out the oil after I noticed it in the system during the 2nd time service. I was not happy when they said they can't do anything about that. I was expecting some refund or voucher or discount but nothing . Very unprofessional and irresponsible. read more

My family and I traded in our small sedan for a used van that we purchased at the end of May '21. We have had so many problems with the van. The windshield had a chip in it when we first looked at it, which the sales manager agreed to fix. I brought it in shortly after buying it. When I got it back the windshield had been patched as they said. However, the driver side seat was broken and I noticed it as soon as I opened the door to get in. I immediately got out and told the service rep and he said he would order the part and call me when it arrived. We then took the van on our annual camping trip. Within a few hours of our drive the check engine light came on, the traction system warning came on and the van kept telling us that doors were open when they weren't. The next day of our trip Ford called and said the seat part was in and that I could come in to get it installed. At that time I said I wouldn't be able to bring it in until we got back and I let them know all the other issues that were happening. When we returned I brought the van in and they had it for two weeks (understandable as they had to take it to Toyota for diagnostics and Toyota was backed up). After picking up my car I noticed that the seat was still broken. They had not replaced the part. I went back inside and asked a service rep about it and he couldn't even find record of the let being ordered. I explained that I received a call while we were on vacation saying the part was in. At this point I asked to speak to the sales manager. I was ready to return the car as it was just becoming more and more of a headache. He came out and took me to the collision manager. The sales manager said he knew about the latch in my van and that the collision manager would help me. He was awesome and that part was repaired very quickly and effectively. I mentioned the seat issue and then was taken to the service manager who was very new to the position and made it clear he had been putting out lots of fires because the previous manager wasn't doing a great job. He said he would order the part and get back to me as soon as it came in. He did just that and the part was replaced. This was in October. It took from July 4th week (when we were camping) until October to resolve the issue. The new service manager said to call immediately if anything happened with the van again. Twice since I picked it up I have called and left a voicemail because the check engine light and traction system failure lights keep coming on. They don't stay on but they have been coming on and off. I still have not received a call back. It's been a month since the first VM and two weeks since the last. I wish I would have never bought a car here and I wish we could return the van. It's been nothing but a headache. The one saving grace is that everyone is so nice and try to do everything they can. It just seems like a really broken business. read more

Terrible service. I took my car there twice and Bellingham Ford Lincoln failed to find the issue with a turbocharger and that it needed a tire rotation and alignment, BOTH TIMES. They cleared my check engine light without any instruction for what to look for or that it might come back on (because they didn't actually fix anything). We made a service appointment for an oil change here. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told the wait would be at least an hour and a half for a regular service. When we bought our Lincoln, we were assured top level service in every way. Since this dealership has changed hands, we have experienced nothing but confusion and disorganization regarding vehicle service. They either say they only want walk-ins, but when we've done that, they can't accommodate. Now that we made an appointment, they say they can't perform the service within a reasonable time frame. Update: took them an hour to decide they couldn't open our hood. When my husband and I got home, he saw what was hindering it, had the hood open and fixed problem in 5 minutes. It was a complete waste of time, and now we still need our oil changed and tires rotated. read more
