Today I was waiting for a parking space to shop next door and then swing by there to copy a key. Since I was shopping elsewhere I didn't want to park in their lot. While I was waiting for a car to pull out of the street door, my bumper was hanging a foot or so into their driveway. No cars were trying to get in. Nobody was being inconvenienced but one of their employees, who was backing out of a spot in their lot decided to get out of his car and tell me to move. He said "you can't park there" to which I replied that I wasn't parked, I was waiting for a guy that was going to pull out. He then tried to incorrectly define for me what "parked" meant and I told him I wasn't harming anyone and I'd be gone shortly. Then he pulled the classic passive-aggressive BS that "customer service" people go to when they know they are wrong: "Ok sir we'll try to have a nicer say...you seem to be really angry" The irony of course is that the guy saying this got out of his car to get mad at me for blocking 1/10th of his driveway. Last straw for these guys. Lots of other locksmiths around that aren't angry and aggressive.

The first sign of being unprofessional was their "sarcastic" remark about arriving on time. After the first phone call, I was in shock and started tearing up on how disrespectful the "locksmith" had communicated with me. I decided I had to call back and cancel the appointment. I must of phoned 50 locksmiths in Washington, Oregon and Texas (the route of my road trip) to get prices on reprogramming my Nissan ignition lock and adding a 2nd key. Skagit locksmith quoted me less than 1/2 the price of the next lowest competitor. When I asked how Dan said "it is a 5 minute job". I was sceptical but took a chance. Turns out my Nissan had been rekeyed at some time so they manually had to figure out the new key code. To be honest many of the locksmiths out there would of charged more for this OR not had the expertise to do it at all. Skagit locksmith was able to figure out my key code, cut and reprogram the key all at the originally quoted low price and have me on my way in 15 minutes. What more can you ask for; great service and quality work at a VERY reasonable price. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would.
