When I walked in, I was told I'd need to reschedule because they never requested my medical records. I insisted on being seen and I got seen and they said they'd call me back with a diagnosis after they received my medical records. I had a terrible experience - They made me wait for more than 35 minutes for a general cleaning checkup. When I brought it up with the receptionist, they acted as if it was not a big deal. Additionally, the doctor was very rushed in general and looked like he wanted to wrap it up as soon as possible. We spoke about certain concerns that he said he would address after the procedure but he never came back. I have been to this practice in the past and Dr. Brito was great. Since she is leaving the practice, I am not going back here again. read more

Susan is terrific. Have been working with her for years and she and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They run super efficiently and they take great care of your teeth. After getting my insurance set up with my current employer, I spent a whole day going through and checking out websites for a new dentist. I finally chose Belltown/Lenora Family Dentistry due to it's accessibility(it's a 3 minute walk from my apartment)and the fact that they accepted my insurance. Not high standards, but still it sold the place to me just fine. Now, I know this might be hard to believe, but I hadn't been to a dentist in 10 years before I found/got the balls to finally go to Dr. Susan Isaacson so I was admittedly a bit nervous about my first and, truth be told, all of my visits. I was quickly put at ease. The waiting room is small but even with 3 people waiting it's not cramped at all and they have a water cooler(this was important since I now take a couple of Aleve before every visit, just in case). This just made me feel cozy and comforted instead of the stress i expected. The two things I most appreciate about this office is they don't talk to you like you're an idiot and they give me lots of painkillers. For my first visit, I expected bad news wrapped in saccharine sweet reassurances. Instead, Dr. Isaacson looked at my x-rays(seen here http://www.flickr.com/photos/54154470@N00/533327077/) and told me, one, i would need some serious cleaning done and, two, I needed my wisdom teeth pulled sooner rather than later. Okay, not really surprising. It had, after all, been 10 years since my last cleaning and I could have told that my wisdom teeth never should have even shown up for the party in my mouth. But wait. After a quick root probe, Dr Isaacson, sat me up and explained exactly what I needed done. She explained why/what/and how they would perform a deep root scaling, she explained what smoking can do to the way the mouth cleans itself(at the least, it kills good bacteria and stains teeth), and she explained some of the good things I had done to keep the bad things from getting REALLY bad. She didn't once hold my hand or pat me on the head. For some reason that struck a cord. The fact that she wasn't condescending and just told me what was up was, at the very least, respectful of my intelligence while still informing me about better oral hygiene. The actual Deep Root Scalings have been handled with exactly as much professionalism and aplomb. I've had 3 of my 4 quadrants scaled and I'm a complete wuss when it comes to oral pain(years of braces, extra teeth that shouldn't be, and too small a mouth for the teeth I have are to blame) and the Hygienists are understanding and supportive while sticking a needle deep into my face. They then scrape a decades worth of "calculus" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calculus_%28dental%29) from my teeth with many and varied hooks and scrapy things, leaving my teeth feeling, well, clean. Afterwards, my jaw tends to be a teeny bit tender for a day, but that's probably just because i'm not used to having my jaw open for an hour or two, contrary to popular opinion. All in all, a great Dentists office with smart, nice, real people working on saving your mouth from yourself. Awesome through and through. read more

When you go to the dentist 7 times in one year, you better hope you like your dentist. Fortunately for me, Dr. Barclay and the staff at Belltown Dentistry have been great every time. I have super soft teeth, and need more dental work than anyone in their mid-20's should. I was super anxious about finding a good dentist after several years of no insurance, but Dr. Barclay was great and worked with me to formulate a treatment plan that was super cognizant of what my insurance would cover before I hit my cap for the year, and what could be put off. She worked with my anxiety (no one likes being told they have 12 cavities and are looking at several crowns) and while I still don't like going in for 2 hour dental sessions, they have made going to the dentist as easy and painless as it can possibly be. Added bonuses -- reminder emails and free wifi, though I've never been waiting in the lobby more than 10 minutes. Recommend! read more

Dr Barclays is a super sweet dentist! This place has a lot of sweet and understanding people working! I have had to reschedule multiple times even last minute and they have been super understanding! I have pushed my husband to see the dentist here and he had a great experience as well. But when I finally made it to my cleaning appointment since my first appointment was just a general check up and they did not take my X rays here since I had taken it fairly about 6 months back at my previous dentist! But they did not receive the Xrays yet, so I had to wait for sometime. Not too long though, so wondered why they did not follow up either before my appointment to get that ready! But the cleaning appointment was fantastic and they gave me good tips to maintain my teeth! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I started going here last year, and this is the 4th different dentist office I've gone to in my lifetime. This is hands down, the most knowledgeable and thorough dentist I've seen. Susan explained things to me about my teeth that nobody had every mentioned. Most other Dentists I've been to just check your teeth quickly, and say "Yes you have a cavity, come back", or "no you don't" Susan went into great detail about what exactly was going on with my teeth, why there were that way, what will happen to my teeth in a few years, and what steps I need to take. Most dentists just flash you a quick picture of your X-Rays, while Susan talked about them in detail, and explained exactly what she saw. I would strongly recommend going here, I never thought I would have such a positive experience at a Dentist. read more

I've been seeing Doctor Isaacson for three years now. I chose Dr. Isaacson's office at a time when I didn't have dental insurance because the cost of care here is very reasonable. The staff here are very friendly, and I love my dental hygienist, Tremaine, who is very thorough. I've had the good fortune of having strong teeth and not needing much dental work outside of the routine preventative care, but every brief interaction I've had with Dr. Isaacson and her staff have been a very positive one. read more

Each time I visit this dentist I am grateful to the person who recommended Dr. Isaacson many years ago.The first time she checked my teeth I knew I had finally found the most competent dentist of my life(and I was fifty,with a long,long history from many different cities, including Seattle)Not only is she the best,her staff is equally professional,and best of all,genuinely nice,without the pseudo perkiness common in that profession.Her office is full of art,the music is fine,just plan on spending a few extra minutes finding a parking spot,that said,I have always found a spot within a couple of blocks at most.The location,a few long blocks from the busier parts of downtown,is not a long walk if you take the Light Rail to Westlake. read more

I highly recommend Dr Issacson. She is warm and friendly and very knowledgeable. She is by far the most thorough dentists I have ever seen and spent much more time with me than any other dentists I have seen. She also walked me through what she was looking for and what is considered good or bad. I also recommend the hygienist Termaine, she is great! The only thing of which to be aware is that you have to schedule your initial appointment with the doctor in addition to a cleaning. I had always done these on the same visit and was surprised to hear I had to come back for a cleaning. But after your first visit they will schedule them together. Also, it does take awhile to get an appointment with the doctor so schedule in advance; cleaning appointments are easier to schedule. read more

I have pretty much hated and detested every male dentist in the greater Seattle area since I moved here more then 13 years ago. Of course that prompted me to only visit a dentist when it was absolutely necessary. My savior was found with Belltown Lenora Family Dentistry and Dr Petra Barclay. They kindly addressed my issue,didn't shove teeth whitening and other vanity products into my face and started me back to proper dental health with regularly scheduled cleanings and check-ups. The entire staff is awesome and if you are able you should choose BLFD as your dental health provider. read more

I have been coming this dentist for the past 5 years and have had no problems with them. I usually see Dr Barclay, but have also seen Dr. Isaacson. Both are great dentists. Dr. Barclay and Dr. Isaacson are equally outstanding dentists. I can judge because throughout my life I've had lots of dental work: cavities, root canals, peridontal work, etc. Since I became 60, many old cavities have needed replacement, some teeth have been removed. I have had gingivitis and peridontal disease since I was 30. Now I require regular cleaning, have needed crowns and implants, and need devoted attention to my dental health. I am highly satisfied with their procedures and professionalism. I feel confident in putting my dental health in their competent hands. When I retired and moved to Seattle, I hoped to find a good dentist through my AARP insurance company, Delta Dental. I am very fortunate to have these highly qualified and talented dentists working on my dental health. The staff is wonderful, too. The entry into the building is a bit rough but has good security, typical of downtown, but once inside and on the 4th floor, the atmosphere is quite professional. read more
