It's rare to come home from a dentist or doc appt and want to leave a review. Even rarer to go out of my way to leave one in two places. I just really want everyone who needs a dentist to know that the experience was outstanding! Dr Brian was wonderful, kind connective and thorough. Lisa in the front (office manager?) was a mazing, making me feel welcomed and seen, She got my preferred name right and didn't misgender me. Celeste did a great job with the x-rays. Usually that's very painful for me, but not today. And I got a sparkly butterfly as a going-away present; thanks, Lisa! Absolutely the best experience I've ever had at a dentist's office. It kept my usual nervousness to a minimum. It didn't feel like good "customer service," but like real people really caring. I can honestly say, I can't wait to go back for treatment next month. Well, it has been six months since my last visit to Emerald Dental Smile Care. I have always been nervous going to the dentist, but not this dentist and dental office. I see Dr Katie Sohn. She is so sweet and caring, (as is her staff) that I didn't get anxious about following up on my next appointment. This office offers everything you want in dental care, concern and sensitivity. On August 17th (Friday) made an appointment online for August 20th (Monday) for 6pm. The online service gave me available times and I picked 6pm because I work Monday through Friday 10:30am to 5pm weekly. Having toothache I needed to go to the dentist as soon as I can. Came to Emerald Dental at 5:37pm and the office is closed. Wished I would've known that or else I wouldn't rushed to come there after a long shift at work. Now I still have a toothache and confused of what happened. Thought I made the right choice by making an appointment through their online service. Definitely try calling them and don't use their unreliable online service. Shows that they don't check appointments either. No phone call or email to me saying that the appointment was inaccurate. My grandmother was seen here once in the past and then was going to a low income dentist, but recently had a crisis with an abscess and was told she would need to be referred to an oral surgeon because of her age (98) but that the referral could take over a week, and they would require proof of her social security form before the referral would be made (without exception), which I couldn't get because her primary caregiver was on a trip overseas. I couldn't believe how helpful Lisa was, the office manager. She quickly got all of the information and called all of the dentists my grandmother had seen in the last 2 years and in less than 24 hours my grandmother was in the expert hands of Dr. Sohn having her tooth extracted. Misery over. It was unbelievable. Dr. Song was gentle, kind and funny and distracting for my grandmother, so she actually really enjoyed the visit of her tooth being extracted! My grandmother was not even his current patient, but he talked to me on the phone prior to her visit to understand her medical status, and worked her in the next day. Not easy at a popular dental clinic I'm sure. There is such goodness and expertise here. read more

A little about me , when I was 6 years old I had a very bad dental experience that left me scared for a very long time. As I was growing up I got the chance to become a dental assistant . I very highly recommend Dr. Brian Sohn! (1) I have never had so much fun during a dental appointment as I did during my initial cleaning -- Dr. Brian was so funny, but also informative! He helped me understand the current state of my teeth, what was contributing to problem areas, and what we could do to fix it. (2) In the past, I've left some dentists with a 2 year, multi-thousand dollar plan. Dr. Brian identified all the same issues, but was able to discern which areas needed to be worked on, and which could be monitored; less is more! (3) Dr. Brian is a perfectionist! When replacing a filling that had been giving me problems, Dr. Brian made sure to get it done correctly, testing gaps and re-working the same area until it was perfect. 100% recommend! read more

Great Dentists, hygienists, and staff! I had been with the office's previous main dentist in the past, Dr. Kemper. When the new dentists took over the practice after he retired, i decided to stay. Im so happy to have found Emerald Dental. It was incredibly easy to set up an appointment and I was able to get clear estimates upfront. Dr. Brian Sohn was very kind and professional, he was able to break down everything I needed work on and gave me multiple options and what the pro's and con's were to each so I could make an independent and informed decision. Hong, one of their dental hygienists, did my cleaning and she did a fantastic job. I was surprised to find I was on a time crunch to be able to use dental insurance benefits, but Dr. Brian Sohn was able to do fillings next day and throughout my whole appointment I felt no discomfort at all.
