My family has received great dental care ranging from cleaning, cavity filling, root canal, and crown. Everyone at this office makes the dental visits less scary and more enjoyable than one could possibly hope. The dental group accepts many forms of insurances and we didn't have to move when my employer changed insurance provider. At my last visit, the dentist told me I need a new crown. He didn't show me my x rays the last 2 times. Did not show me any reason I need the crown at this moment. The receptionist gave me all the info of how much the crown would cost using my membership discount. Then my membership expired. I have tried to renew it. They are no longer allowing you to be a member. Everything is full price. No one told me this. They don't answer their emails. When you call, the connection is always terrible and a lot of background noise. I finally got someone on the phone, told her I need to renew my Membership so that I can get the crown they told me I need, she told me that would be out of pocket at this time. Stupid place. This place and everybody who works there from the front desk to dental assistants to the dentist is absolutely beyond spectacular. The check in area is cozy and professional with ample seating galore. Their equipment is modern, efficient and practically pain free. Plus, they have a TV that shows cute little animal videos while you're getting your teeth done. Nice bonus for those with anxiety. I came here based off of another friend's recommendation and I am so, so, so happy I came here. I came just for a cleaning to see how things would go, and they got me in and out super quick in 1 hour and they did a fantastic job. Everybody was so kind, thoughtful and helpful. My new dentist and I love it! Their 8am - 8pm schedule makes it so easy to make an appointment. Customer service is AMAZING and the office is so cute and nicely decorated. They play cute animal videos in every patient area which they say have helped a lot of people calm their anxiety and it has definitely worked for me as well. They also provide laughing gas for people who absolutely fear the dentist. I've never tried it, but it sounds fun lol. Overall, I'm so happy I found this place! read more

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR PAYMENTS! Very disappointed. I have been going to this location for couple years, every time someone would call in advance and ask for payment while I dont even know what I need to work on, or when i arrived and the moment I sat down on the chair, first thing first someone will show up right at the second asking for the payment up front. Recently I have an tooth implant that I done here, my insurance only cover part so I had to pay most out of the pocket, when I had the surgery to put in the base before the implant, 2 weeks later I got an infection so I had to come back to have it remove. Even though the dentist that worked on it just apologies and explained it is one of the thousand case (when I checked with other dentist, they informed me it might have get infection cause something went wrong in the surgery). I was frustrated because it took almost a year to work on this tooth that I broke, but I didn't say anything because the dentist was very apologetic. He even offer to refund the payments I đi on this tooth. PROBLEM starting from here, I waited since mid September for 3 months to December and didn't here from them, when I called and the receptionist starting to figure what's happens and didn't have any answer, most likely they didn't put in the request and keep saying it taking 5 weeks and the check should arrive soon. Another few months went by and now it's February, I had to call back again and the receptionist once again doesn't know where the check is and said it showing zero balance while I know for sure a paid a good amount out of my credit card for the implant, when I mention I did pay some out of pocket, and she said "it is probably copay with your insurance" added "do you understand what Co-pay mean?". WOW. They said the director will give me call back but 3 days later I got an email from Catherine explaining my insurance payments and totally skipped on my other payment when I was there and they specific said insurance won't cover so this big amount will be out of your pocket. Now once again I am sitting here waiting for someone to call and talk since every time I called they would put me on hold or promise someone will call back. Money isn't the main issue her but this place just make me feel cheated and have to chase after my money. Been customer at Seattle location for last 3 years. Every time i visit I felt good and confident and happy. Last visit wasn't what I hoped to be. I did regular visit and clean up. After my visit, my crown front tooth got fractured and a pice of the crown fall off from the gum to the middle of the tooth as i was talking to a friend. I call and scheduled a appointment where same doctor saw me again and totally tried to move the responsibility and start asking if i was grinding while sleeping or chew anything..... she offer to cement the piece back since the cut was like a puzzle. (I should not done it in the first place) however, two days later same piece fall out again and i went there for second time. This time they went and pull the x-rays from last year and start blaming the dentist who made the crown and suggested me to contact them back to cover the expenses. After I refused, they sent me to the desk and asked me to pay for new one since they will not cover the damage. They told me they have spoken to the owner and this was their best solution. I have been trying to contact the owner or any supervisor for the last 5 days, and no supervisor or owner will speak to me even for 1 min and say "we probably did or not, but we are aware what happened" Same receptionist call me today while i was promised the supervisor will call me back, and offer the 'help'. The help was option 1 call your Dentist who made the crown. Option 2 we can refer you to a specialist who can do your new crown and they will not cover cost. I came to this place in severe pain because they said that they "accept walk ins". They do, but not they will not fully treat you. I needed a tooth extraction, but the dentist gave me an rx for antibiotics and sent me on my way. When I asked what to do about the pain, he said the antibiotics would help. I ended up in the ER later that night because I passed out from the pain, and the next morning I had an emergency extraction. Shame on this place for rushing me out of there and making me feel like there was nothing anyone could do for the pain. read more

Nice people and usually can get you in quickly in an emergency, but while they used to be one of the most reasonable priced places. Now they are one of the most expensive. We went for years before covid and they were, while probably not the cheapest, one of the most reasonable while still having great quality. Now their prices are often double what many other places charge and that's not counting the cost of a membership (350$). We have looked around and found many options who are cheaper. The positives begin and pretty much ended in the lobby, which is polished and inviting. My wait time before being called back to was less than 5 minutes. I gave my insurance card to the receptionist after asking if they accepted state insurance and she said "it *looks like* you don't have dental coverage. She didn't try to look into it. She just glanced at the card. I insisted that I did. But she just repeated "it doesn't look like it". I paid the 120 for their membership and was told both xrays and a cleaning were included. It took TWO HOURS for the hygienist to complete my xrays. He kept pointing the X-ray machine at my temple and then muttering about how it wasn't working. The neighboring hygienist kept coming over every ten minutes to ask what was taking so long because she needed to use the machine too. He finally asked her for help and she pointed out that he was pointing it at my temple, which I had already said to him. He zapped my brain a dozen times while he and this neighboring technician continued to pop in to hurry him along. He laughed nervously and bumbled around in my mouth. He cut my mouth multiple times and the dentist later said that it looked like I had some trauma to this tissue in my inner cheeks. I wanted to say "yeah, no shit." After xrays were finally done, the hygienist said while I was still reclined in the chair "it's going to be another 89 dollars for the cleaning. I was not informed of this until then. They should have charged me upfront when I checked in. Or said "it'll be 120 for the membership and an additional 89 for the cleaning" before I agreed to anything. Later the receptionist said "didn't anyone give you the pamphlet to look over?" NO, no they didn't. Thanks for asking though. I did not want to pay any more to continue this uncomfortable experience. I declined the cleaning and left. 120 down the drain. The only other positives are that the dentist was very professional and knowledgeable. Otherwise, I get the impression that this practice caters to low income people because their hygienists are straight out of school. I'm honestly stunned by all the 5 star reviews. read more

First time here after moving to Capitol Hill. Not a bad office. Clean and friendly. They have the pet channel on so you can watch videos of puppies while you chill in the chair. Can't go wrong with that. The cleaning seemed a little lackluster. I've gone to quite a few dentists, and I definitely waited the longest out of any appointment I've ever made. The waiting did seem like it was abnormal though. They kept apologizing for the wait and seemed genuine about it so I didn't mind much. The cleaning was quick. Other dentists I've gone to spent a lot longer doing the cleaning and were thorough with the scrapy hook tool (idk what the actual name of the tool is called). I'm sure some people prefer it to be quick but I prefer a thorough cleaning even if I have to lie there for 30/45min. I usually walk out licking my teeth because of how smooth they get from a cleaning. Didn't really get that here. Maybe it was because they were busy. The dentists at the CapHill location are beyond fantastic. They do a great job walking you through what's going on and their work is good. Unfortunately, their reception people are their Achilles heel. Any time I've called, it seems like they just started on the job. They are disorganized and I truly think they've only trained as far as booking an appointment. My last conversation with them, they let me know they would connect with the dentist and call me back - still waiting on that phone call to happen. I'm really bummed, but when you're investing $1k+ for cosmetic dentistry, I am going to put that where I can trust the full staff to do a good job. Dr. Park was really sweet and made sure that my procedure was relatively pain free. They are also sensitive to dental costs and they made sure that I knew how much things would cost before I went through with the procedures. Just had the root canal done today and it was such an easy and enjoyable experience. My spouse and I have been going to 8 to 8 Dental since we moved to Seattle from California last year. And every time we always have a very positive experience. A month ago I broke my front tooth crown and the dentist was able to help me and put a temporary crown at the same day! The permanent crown looks very good as well. There was also one time one of my upper teeth hurt really bad then after I called them, they squeezed an hour in the same day to take care of it. How efficient! Before the root canal operation, I was so worried and scared it might hurt, but the dentist was very professional and it did not hurt at all. All the staff there are very friendly and they always go through all the expenses before I decide what dental procedures I want to do or not. It is transparent without any hidden fees or surprises, and very affordable. We also had our teeth cleaned regularly there as well. Highly recommend no matter you want to just clean your teeth, or you want to do crown, root canal, implant, or any other dental work. read more

Just wanted to come and leave a quick review- On Saturday 3/2 I left work early with some severe tooth pain. I was able to walk in to 8 to 8 on Capitol Hill and was back seeing someone within 30 minutes. The staff was warm and we joked around at the front desk. The dentist and assistant were both just lovely. Today I went in first thing and had an upper back molar extracted. I have a TON of anxiety (in general, but in regards to the dentist it is severe) due to past interactions I had had, so I haven't been to the dentist in so many years. Even though I still felt so anxious and wanted to run, everyone was so kind and made me feel as good as I was ever going to!! Bless the poor assistant, I kind of made him hold my hand at one point but he was so wonderful. I go back for a follow up in a couple weeks, and I honestly am excited about continuing my care with them, and finally getting my teeth fixed. I wish I could remember the names of everyone (especially my dentist!) but in this hazy post extraction moment, I can't recall. Everyone was wonderful. Cannot recommend them enough!! read more

Updating my review since we got to come back another time. The general manager reached out to me via phone to understand what went wrong during my first visit. After a brief conversation, we were able to get me matched up with a different hygenist and I had a much better experience. My boyfriend and I were both met by Julie and she is just awesome. She really is kind and makes an effort to make sure you're comfortable. I always feel like I ask too many questions but Julie never hesitates to answer in a way that I can easily understand. (This must be a weird coincidence but my favorite hygenist back home is also named Julie.... hmmmm...) We both even had the same dental assistant, Ceevee (spelling?) and she was just as sweet. I remember her changing the temperature of the water for me so that my sensitive teeth wouldn't freak out. She was also really easy to talk to.. sort of awkward making noises while her hands are working on my teeth but we just laughed it off. Definitely would want to be friends with her IRL! Girl, you rock!! Only giving 4 stars because I just have too much love for my dentist back home in Everett. Bummer to be so far away but, 8 to 8 really stepped up their game after a let down of a first visit! Scheduling appointments for both me and my boyfriend at the same time are always a breeze thanks to the reception staff. Terrible communication for new patients. I scheduled a cleaning and when I showed up they said they would get to the cleaning only if they had extra time after the exam and x-rays. I tried to refuse x-rays since I had gotten them within the year, but they threatened to refuse treatment. Small wonder that our insurance costs are spiraling out of control! This dental office was a nightmare to try to make an initial appointment with. I called as a new patient to make an appointment for a regular, basic cleaning. First they told me that they had to do the doctor eval before the cleaning to determine what type of cleaning I'd need and that it could be 2 appointments. I've never in 42 years of going to the dentist had to have two visits to get a basic cleaning and exam. I insisted I needed just a regular old, basic cleaning. But she said they'd have to see. Then I had my standard x-rays sent over from my previous dentist. She told me they didn't include the right type of x-rays and that they'd have to do MORE. Since my insurance already paid this year for x-rays (all the normal ones that every dentist does!), I'd have to pay out of pocket for the new ones. Again, never in 42 years.... Then this morning they called to tell me they are having trouble verifying my insurance, which is crazy cause I gave them the number right off of the card. I am so completely turned off by this experience and canceled the appointment. Never in my life has so much trouble getting a basic cleaning. This is not rocket science. I'm going to fly all the way back to San Francisco to my dentist that I love and who has never given me trouble like this. Good riddance! read more

I was really excited to try 8to8 after seeing such positive reviews on Yelp! Unfortunately my experience has been less than ideal with their refund and scheduling process. TLDR: incorrectly charged a deposit for an appointment that had been cancelled, over a month and no word from 8to8 My first appointment I thought I would get x rays and a cleaning, but was informed we'd only have time for x Rays. I thought that was different than other experiences but okay. They wrote up a plan for my teeth and we scheduled out the first three. They asked if I wanted to set up automatic deposits ($100) for those appointments and I said sure, because Im busy and it seemed easier (my big mistake.) Before I had my first scheduled appointment, I decided to cancel my 2nd and 3rd appointments due to financial constraints. This was 6/16. I was told the cancellations were confirmed, but then I was still charged for a deposit for my 2nd appt which I had cancelled. I called, left a message, figured it was a mix up. The appt I kept was a cleaning, I had a decent cleaning, though the numbing was overwhelming. If I had driven there, I wouldn't have been able to drive myself home. The dentist was responsive to my pain threshold though, which I appreciated. When I went to the counter after my cleaning to pay, I asked what had with the incorrect deposit charge. They looked at my appointments and it seemed that they had never been cancelled, even though I was told they were. The receptionist was helpful and processed it, letting me know they could only give me 8to8 credit or a mailed check. I chose a mailed check, confirmed my new address, and left. The next day I was called by another receptionist asking if I'd like to use the deposit they have for me to schedule an appointment. Again, confused, I said that the deposit was meant to be refunded by a mailed check, and that if the updated address was in the system (it was), then so should the request for a refund. The receptionist was very short once she realized I wanted a refund, and said the request would be sent to finance and I'd receive my refund in 2-3 weeks by mail. This was 7/6. Today, it's 8/9, and I have not received my refund. I check the mail every day. I have left two messages with the office this last week and haven't received a call back with an update or even confirmation that my check is on the way. I can't even dispute the charge with my bank. Please learn from my experience, and maybe choose a different dentist with more consistent communication and scheduling maintenance. Or just don't do auto-pay deposits like me! I probably wouldn't have had such a negative experience if I hadn't had to cancel my appointments, but now I'm financially burdened for it even though I followed all their steps and the error was on their end. Everything about my experience with this business has been frustrating and has left me in tears. Approximately a month ago, I went in to have ONE tooth looked at - a rotting molar at the back of my mouth. I paid their membership fee, as I am uninsured. At the initial meeting, I had asked for a "range of prices" for an extraction, so that I could begin the process of saving money for the needed services. I was told that they could not even give me a price schedule and I would have to wait until the dentist completed a full treatment plan. I went in a week later to discuss the treatment plan for working on that ONE, single rotton tooth. The treatment plan provided to me consisted of ONLY the following three options: 2 options for full mouth restoration - cost $30K+ 1 option for full dentures - cost $4-6K But they also told me they couldn't give me actual prices, as they provided ZERO of those services in house. When I asked about just taking care of that single tooth, I was told that it would be "professionally irresponsible" to offer me solutions to treat only that one tooth, when - in their opinion - the only solution involved removing EVERY SINGLE TOOTH FROM MY MOUTH. I began sobbing, explaining that abject poverty didn't allow for even contemplating those options and that I would really appreciate it if they could work with me, and my budget, to come up with a solution that served the needs of their patients. I had a panic attack and left in tears, with no treatment options for moving forward. The dentist then told me that he couldn't afford the services he was suggesting either, but refused to talk to me about extraction as an option. I contacted them today asking about scheduling just an extraction on the rotton tooth - that is still there and still causing massive pain. The receptionist told me she could not schedule me for an extraction, as that didn't appear on my treatment plan (the one that ONLY offered full mouth restoration as an option), and that she'd need to consult with the dentist. I never receivied a call back, only an email with an attachment to have the extraction done ELSEWHERE - which would NOT be covered by the membership fee I paid to 8 to 8 to have a service done that they DO IN FACT offer in-house. I called back to ask if I could have a refund on the membership fee I paid, as zero services would be provided at the office. She informed me that if I paid for the initial exam (which was free and was suddenly now close to $300), that I could be refunded my $200 membership fee. I fully believe this office exists to scam and deceive their clients. I feel that they could all use a refresher on cultural competency in regards to how they treat their clients. I have never felt so insulted, neglected, and abused as a client anywhere I've ever gone. Do yourselves a favor, ignore the hype, and stay far, far away from 8 to 8 dental. read more

I've been here a couple times already. The first time I was here, I didn't have dental insurance yet, and they had a deal for an exam and xray for $32. It has been awhile since I've been to the dentist and my wisdom teeth were growing in, so I needed to get it checked out. The office itself is very clean and modern and very friendly staff. I met with Dr. Thongin the first time, he was very thorough with the exam and was able to answer all my questions. He understood my concerns and assured me that there is no rush (but obviously not wait it out too long) to take care of my wisdom teeth. He sent me a referral and the staff was helpful in forwarding my xrays and setting up my next appointment. They were also very clear on what I needed for my next exam, and told me I could do it all in one sitting or break it up as I pleased. I had my cleaning and sealant done with Dr. Park. They told me the process would take an hour, it only took 30 minutes, and they were thorough and efficient! Overall, really good experience here, will be coming here often. read more

I had a great first cleaning here recently. I was most surprised with the amount of time I got with an actual dentist here. At a typical dentist visit, I'm used to seeing the dentist for a minutes or two. Dr. Thongin, though, did the exam and the cleaning himself - and it was a wholly different experience. It was fast, thorough, and there wasn't a single accidental gums jab the whole time. Maybe even more importantly, the visit was free of the typical uncomfortable session of getting pressured into purchasing additional unnecessary dental treatments. I got honest, straightforward recommendations from Dr. Thongin without any guilt trips. I just moved to the area and therefore needed to find a new dentist. I initially found that this place was close to home so I figured I would try them out. First impressions were that the place was modern and clean. The staff was polite and considerate. I had an initial visit and a cleaning and both experiences were great. I was surprised that the Dr did his own cleanings but I thought that this was a nice change. I will be going back in 6 months for another cleaning and I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a dentist. They are right around the corner from me, so I selected them for my first dental visit due to their proximity to my house. I am so glad I chose 8 to 8 Dental. It is a great dentist office. The lobby of the office is very comfortable and its arranged such that you can feel some privacy when you are waiting. There is a coffee bar stocked with coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. I don't really understand the hot chololate and cider in the dental office bc they are sugar loaded, but the other beverages were nice. The treatment I received was top-notch and i'm glad I wasn't upsold on any treatments. I honestly felt that the treatments suggested by the Dentist Park were geared toward maintaining health teeth, rather than geared toward selling me things I did not need. Also, thanks to Dentist Park's skills my teeth feel immaculately clean! One person who especially stood out on my visits was the dental assistant Nicole. She is supremely professional, competent, and caring. She made the Dentist's job effortless, which allowed him to focus on my teeth rather than to focus on what tools he needed. While the dentist was away, she made every effort to ensure I was comfortable in the chair and she regularly asked me how I was doing. I've been going here for a little while now, and everyone that I've worked with has been really helpful and friendly. I went in specially to ask about whitening my teeth before my wedding and Nate gave me a recommendation based on my goals and the short time frame that I had. One of my front teeth has a dead nerve inside, so it is darker than the rest. The take home mold and trays that Nate recommended worked wonders, and really quickly!
