It's been a number of years since I've been to Wheeling. The first exit across the suspension bridge from Ohio, it's a beautiful town directly on the Ohio River. The brewery is a cool spot tucked in downtown, a quick detour off of the highway. There's indoor + outdoor seating and an air conditioning that pumps freezing air, a welcome treat on a 90+ degree day. They have a wide array of beer styles and friendly service. Liked the one that I think is the standard "Nippy Tipple" all of the beers and brewery itself is around the theme of coal mining. The wines were very good as well. My wife and daughter loved the greenhouse obtaining flowers and plants that they thought were a good fit and purchased. I'll be back to obtain some wine supplies as I see that they sell. Overall good experience, like to come back and have more time to enjoy the beer.

Each brew we tried was smooth, flavorful, and uniquely their own. We shared a few appetizers and every bite was fantastic, but the fried zucchini sticks were the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! Their happy hour is a great deal, and the atmosphere is just what you'd want in a local brewery: relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The location is spot-on--easy to get to, with plenty of space inside and out. To top it all off, the staff have been incredible--knowledgeable about the beers, super friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. I guarantee every single person who was working was behind the bar at some point and we either had to ask for more water, more sour cream, more whatever; that's annoying! Most of the time when a brewery needs to serve liquor it just doesn't have great beer or great brewery vibes that us brewery lovers go for and we rarely return, sadly. There was nothing welcoming about this place and with the food being just decent and the wait staff not being of the greatest in the personality and service categories I'd say there is a 99% chance we won't return or recommend this place to any of our friends or colleagues. The girls behind the bar were standing there checking their phones. When I finally got acknowledged, I ordered a beer off of the chalkboard wall (which lists names but no prices) and was handed an $11 check. To me, no beer is worth that. Not sure what's going on now with their "rebrand" but the lack of customer service and ridiculously priced beers aren't giving a good image for whatever the future brand will be.
