    PERMANENTLY CLOSED

The doors are shut and the lights are off- THEY ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED. They were meant to open up under a new name but business wasn't working out- so "The local" / "Voodoo Brewing " has OFFICIALLY GONE OUT OF BUSINESS.

Last night I needed a drink after work and this was the first place I thought of. We sat right at the bar which was perfect for us. I tried their red lacto kooler which was very good. As an app we got the pub pretzel, loved the size and absolutely loved their beer cheese. For a main I got the smokehouse mac which was everything I've ever wanted and more. Loved the amount of crispy onions they put on top and the bbq sauce they used worked so well. I cleaned that plate. My boyfriend got their 3 little pigs pizza, he devoured that and he said he really liked it. Wasn't a busy night for them but that was fine for us as we were able to chat up the bartender who was very nice and super helpful. He was great! As always I love their decor so fun.

Their famous red pepper hummus W??!?

The food is overpriced and IMHO, totally unremarkable. The one thing I could say I reliably enjoyed, their mussels, are no longer on the menu. Had the 'famous red pepper hummus w/ PILES of veggies' Terrible! The plate had a little plastic condiment cup of 'hummus'- which still had whole garbanzo beans in it- was choking dry, and had no tahini- with no middle eastern flavor. Came with maybe 6 small triangles of pita, slices of pepper, celery, and maybe 10 of the tiniest carrots. They should be ashamed to charge the $11+!! (Also tasted the pizza - again, worth no stars) If you go for the beer- fine, ( thus the 2stars) but remember to eat before you go!!

This is my second time going to the Voodoo Brewing in Houston, PA. It was so good the first time, we came back with my daughter and her fiancé. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to help us choose a nice variety for our flights of beers. The staff in the kitchen were really nice. We all enjoyed our meals. They have good food, good beer and a good time to be had by all!

The menu is awesome and not your typically brewery food. I love the diverse things they offer. I really enjoyed my mussels but I wish it would have come with some toasted bread instead of the sliced sourdough. The sour beer was my favorite and was super refreshing. The only thing I think that would improve this bar is having a bartender rather than ordering online and pickup your beer. It was a little confusing but the lady at the register helped us out and we will definitely return.

We've been to all of the local voodoo breweries in the Pittsburgh region. Still haven't been to the original in Meadville but one day. This location is sharp and nice looking with lots of space to sit inside or outside. If you're a dog lover it's perfect for hanging outside and having a beer. The beers are always decent as they're not made on site but shipped from the original location. That's a little bit of a downer, but I understand the model of the business that they have in place. The food is good. I like that this location like some of the others have food. You order everything from your phone with a scan of a QR code which is awesome. The fried pickles were the best, maybe the best that I've ever tried. They give Sienna Mercata in the city a run for their money on fried pickles. I had a pizza which was good. I didn't have a beer today but settled for an old fashioned honey with Liberty Pole Spirits bourbon. You can't go wrong with some of the best local bourbon.

As much as I wanted to love this place it was very much meh. You're pretty much on your own as far as figuring out how to order. Once we ordered our food it took a really long time before it was ready. Whenever we did get our food it was pretty awful. We tried to order a variety of items from the menu, but literally everything was equally bad. The pretzel was burnt and rock hard. The nachos had hardly any pulled pork on them, the salsa was more like a marinara sauce, the cilantro was old and wilted, the tortillas chips didn't seem to be fresh. The wings were so bad that the person who ordered them only took 2 bites because they didn't want to get sick from them. The meat that was in the cheesesteak was like chewing rubber. The only reason why I gave the 2 stars that I did was because the employees whenever they did actually acknowledge you seemed friendly enough and the decor was fun to look at.

I went here with a few friends on a weeknight. We ordered the Houston Caprese pizza and the tortilla burger to share, we found the pizza to not match the description that was on the menu, but it was alright and the crust was very good. The burger was alright, but could have used some sauce. We also ordered 2 beers, and they were poured well and tasted great. The situation with the lack of waitresses/waiters was not ideal. We ordered from a QR code and had to go pick our food up at the food window, along with our beer which I found to be astounding, considering that you go out to eat so you don't have to do those things for yourself but maybe they're adapting to the new era? The problem with this model is that it limits the customer experience along with creating a very niche environment for people who prefer that type of "service". Unfortunately, we do not (and we were all under 30). If your phone is dead, or you do not own a smartphone, you may have a problem ordering anything here and your experience may be limited.

Great service by all. Friendly management. Bartender was very helpful. Food is good. Drinks are even better. I couldn't ask for a better brewery in this small town. Who would have ever thought I could get a Kim chi burger in Houston pa.

It's a beautiful place! As we had our dinner we saw 2 tables of guests sit and wait for service and then get up and leave because they weren't waited on.. Not everyone knows about the self service app, it may be good to have a greater talking to the visitors. Also, I don't want to comment on the food since it is a new place and probably has to work out some bugs, but I am hoping the 3rd time is a charm when we return or it may be our last visit.

So I gave Voodoo a second chance, this time going to their Tuesday night trivia. This was a much better experience!! I just got a few drinks and appetizers with my friends and we played trivia for a few hours. Definitely more chill and less hectic this time around. I'n part cause it wasn't a Friday night and two that there were no technical difficulties. Still the biggest hold up with this place is still the QR ordering. I like it but at the same time not really? It's fine when it works but less technology inclined ppl might find it annoying. Also, it is pretty expensive for what it is, especially the speciality drinks. This is Houston, not the Strip. Also the high top chairs are soooo uncomfortable. They really should rethink those. Goto the trivia nights!

I want to love Voodoo but there are a few things that keep me from giving more than 3 stars. There is ample parking out back and the venue is large. There is bar, high top, and outdoor seating but I wish there were more normal height tables and chairs with backs. You must use a QR code to view the current beer menu and the QR code is always spotty for me. They had food and other drink menus at the table but then you have to order using the QR code or go to a checkout location at the bar to order. The entire.process is cumbersome and frustrating. We sat at the bar in order to get service. I understand that this model may be efficient when it is packed, but early on a Friday when there are a handful of parties it is frustrating. The fried pickles have a bite to them and if pickles were stuck together in the fried, the batter will be raw. I am a fan of their pizzas and while the margarita pizza had excellent flavor, I would have appreciated more fresh mozzarella and basil. Thankfully, Voodoo has excellent beer and an expansive drink menu so we keep coming back.

A Hidden Gem in Washington, PA!…read more The Washington Brewing Company is the real deal! You can absolutely taste the love in every beer--they clearly take pride in their craft. Each brew we tried was smooth, flavorful, and uniquely their own. We shared a few appetizers and every bite was fantastic, but the fried zucchini sticks were the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! Their happy hour is a great deal, and the atmosphere is just what you'd want in a local brewery: relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The location is spot-on--easy to get to, with plenty of space inside and out. To top it all off, the staff have been incredible--knowledgeable about the beers, super friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. We'll definitely be back. Cheers to great beer and even better people!

I have been to Washington more times than I can county yet I hadn't been here yet for some odd reason but we decided to change that on the way to the airport. Before arriving me and my gf were rather hungry so we were looking on Yelp for a place to eat before deciding to stop in here for a quick bite and a cold beer on a smoking hot day. Upon arrival it seemed like a cool place and had plenty of parking behind the business. Although once we entered the business the atmosphere seemed kind of off and unappealing. Everyone looked pissed off or unfriendly. The servers weren't much better if I am being honest, which I always am when leaving reviews. We sat at the bar for a few minutes before I had to ask a girl who was too busy chatting away with another girl for a menu and water. We needed someone to cool us off immediately due to it being extremely hot outside. TBH: nothing is more of a put off than entering a business you are about to spend money in and seeing the wait staff on their phones ignoring the people who are there to help them make money cause God forbid you don't tip someone 20% who are on Instagram 85% of the time you are there and instead of asking if you need anything else while you are constantly saying, can I have another this or that. SMH! The wait staff here seemed all over the place and it wasn't even busy when we stopped in. I guarantee every single person who was working was behind the bar at some point and we either had to ask for more water, more sour cream, more whatever; that's annoying! We started off by ordering a flight of beer and that seemed like a whole job in itself to the waitress. Then we decided to go with the nachos. Which I must say took way too long to arrive considering there was only 8-10 people max while we were there and easily 5-6 waiters and 2-3 bartenders. The beer was good and the nachos were pretty decent as well. Neither was anything to write home about but they did their job. Another thing I did notice about this place is it seemed grimmy and more of a bar than an actual brewery. Most of the time when a brewery needs to serve liquor it just doesn't have great beer or great brewery vibes that us brewery lovers go for and we rarely return, sadly. There was nothing welcoming about this place and with the food being just decent and the wait staff not being of the greatest in the personality and service categories I'd say there is a 99% chance we won't return or recommend this place to any of our friends or colleagues. Thanks and good luck :)

What a Concept:…read more There are three things in the World I love, and they are Bacon, Bourbon and Beer. I was in the Washington, PA area and was researching places to eat and found this place that uses bacon in many of their dishes. I drove over to BBB3, and there was plenty of parking available in the parking lot just outside. I walked in, and for a few minutes I was the only one there. My server came over, and we walked through the Bacon, Bourbon, and Beer menus. After some discussion, I settled on trying the Bacon Flight, which was four flavours of bacon, each on two thick slices of bacon. The flight has Cajun & Bleu, which is Cajun Spice and crumbled Blue Cheese, Candied Jalapeno & Cheddar, Bourbon & Brown Sugar, and Sarris Chocolate. When you look at the photos of the flight, it doesn't look like a lot of food, but be warned, it's a shareable for a reason. To put it in perspective, it is eight thick and long slices of bacon with ingredients on them. I was planning on trying something else from the menu, but the Bacon Flight is a meal in itself; be warned. I chose an Old Forrester Bourbon from the Bourbon Menu and a local craft beer. The flight was amazing and filling, and the bourbon was a good match for the meal. Overall, a great experience, and I learned my lesson so that next time I'm there I'll try something else or bring a friend or two. If you love Bacon, Bourbon and Beer, this is the place for you.

We initially were stopped in our tracks by the doors being locked and the business being closed which was a surprise to us because I had read on Yelp the hours were 4-10ish but we'd later find out that was more like 4ish to 10ish. Haha! We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in. We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! Thanks Shorty for the recommendation. It's now on my favorite list. After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out.
