I just moved here and this salon is a block away from my house. The staff was very professional, offered me coffee tea or water. Staff are down to earth, and helped me choose the right service for my budget. They also take tv watching requests. Staff was very friendly, and it wasn't too busy when I came in Saturday afternoon. They were very attentive. Full leg massage with the pedicure, and they really worked on each nail. They gave you water too. $65 for both a French manicure and pedicure. Unfortunately, a couple of my nails started to chip the very next day :'(. Maybe should have gone with the gel. It's been less than a month and most of my nails are no longer painted. I went back to get my refill, and I love it. Again the workers are very nice. The retention of my nails were amazing. I lasted 2 weeks with no problems. No nails broke, chipped, or came off like they have previous times from other salons. He shaped my nails very well and thinned them out per my request. I've been to this place twice and I will say the quality of work is amazing! The first time, I got a pedi and gel mani - the gel mani lasted for over 3 weeks! For me, that's a long time because I've never had luck with gel lasting a long time. The second time I visited with my little sister and we got dip manis and regular pedis. Very aggressively cut all of my already pretty short nails, ridiculously short. He didn't even ask. Just roughly grabbed my hand and started clipping. I was so surprised and it kind of hurt. So...the end product was great. I got a shellac french manicure for $33, three weeks ago. Not one chip, and still has the just-painted wet look. I love love love shellac...I just won't be going back to Belmont Nail Salon to get it redone. I was just a bit turned off by... 1. The nail chick kept turning around to follow the soap opera on t.v. while she was doing my nails. 2. She started pushing back her cuticles with her fingernails while my hands were soaking. 3. She put her foot up on her chair and put a coat of paint on her toes while one of my base coats were drying. 4. After pushing her cuticles back with her nails, and touching her feet, she used her nails to scrape around and under my nails to get any polish off that she got on my skin while paining. Really great place to go... Yes, you may get there and have an appointment and still need to wait. But, for me, waiting is worth knowing that I will leave with a shiny, well-done, manicure and pedicure that the technician took her time on. I guess if you are in a hurry, don't go during the busy times, i.e., weeknights and Saturdays. The salon is clean, and the tools that are used always come out of the sanitizer before used on the next client. I am so happy with their services, and find the ladies there to be very friendly. Hot Damn! Belmont Nail Salon is as good as it gets!! PEOPLE, Yelpers, Friends, let me tell you that I can't believe I've never ventured to this place before. Let me also tell you that I'm normally turned off (way off) by "cheap" nail salons. I've been taken before by paying WAY TOO MUCH money for a mani/pedi. I just spent $35.00 for a mani/pedi and I've honestly never had such a careful, precise, relaxing experience in regards to getting my nails done. Wow. WOW. WOOOOOWWW. I saw Lynn, who was just a doll. She was sweet, and knew how to get out all that nasty cuticle buildup. I have never had such pretty looking feet and nails. I even got color this time and I normally never get color. They also do waxing and from the looks of one lady who got her brows did, they do a damn good job. This place is clean and sterile. They did have the TV on to some daytime soap -- which I could have done without. But, I really don't care now because my hands and feet look amazing! Belmont Nail Salon just got a customer FO LIFE! I was a little disappointed that they couldn't take us at the same time or that there wasn't even space for me to sit next to her and chat while they started on her pedicure, but it was a busy Saturday. The manicure and pedicure were pretty average. They had an OK selection of polishes, and the place seemed really clean. The manicure didn't last that long, but I got a dark polish, so that might be one of the reasons. The pedicure lasted about 3 weeks. Prices were average, and if you're in this neighborhood, I think it would be a solid place to go. Don't forget cash for a tip. read more

I should have trusted the other ladies in this salon, as it was the first nail place I tried after moving to Belmont. They all kept entering saying "I heard from a friend this place is great!" and they're right! I went to a few other places before running back here with regret for ever paying the same amount for so much less. I don't know what they do to make the polish last up to a month, and I don't really care. But all I know is every time I go, the ladies are pleasant, speak English very well and understand perfectly, seem to know everyone by name, never take long to accept walk-ins or accommodate appts. made ahead of time, and do everything you'd expect for a $25 pedicure. This means it is more than a dunk in a bucket of water and a cursory polish change which seems to be the standard since the state of Massachusetts took away the razor! a day ago I would like to give this establishment no stars. I have been going there for the about 5 years. I've never had a problem until now. A week and a 1/2 ago I had fake nails applied for the 1st time in my life. The owner applied them, she was in a hurry and I remember feeling pain in my thumb as she was preparing my thumb for the fake nail. I had no idea it was going be a problem. Also the job was left incomplete. Right away I was not happy with the job she did. It was the end of the day and I was in a rush to be somewhere. I knew I could easily come back and deal with it later. I did return the next day to have her finish the job that she started. When I approached her about the sloppy work she became very defensive. She debated with me that she was right and i was wrong. While rudely speaking in her language to her staff and coming back at me saying she was happy with her work she grabbed my hand and started to dremmel the thickness of the nail down and to fix the sloppy job. They looked much better but my thumb had pressure in it. At this point I am feeling uncomfortable and I wanna get out of there. The pressure on my right thumb was uncomfortable but not horrible. By Sunday my thumb was really beginning to get really uncomfortable. The salon was closed so I had to wait until the next day. I walked in and asked her if she would please remove just that nail. She again made me feel uncomfortable as though this was my fault basically accusing me of being a dirty person. Over the next couple of days it became more uncomfortable. By Thursday morning I was at the walk in clinic and was diagnosed with cellulitis. The doctor attempted to lance it but the pus pocket had not developed enough. I'm now on antibiotics, my thumb hurts badly, I have not been able to work for the past 3 days and next week could be the same. I am a business owner and losing $ every day as I'm not working! I went to her salon 3 times to deal with the sloppy work and to try to get her to own up and be responsible for her mistakes. She came back with saying I had an allergic reaction, again placing the blame on me. She said she had never seen this happen before. I have two questions for her; If I'm so allergic why didn't the rest of my nails not have a problem? And, if she had never seen this happen how would she know what an allergic reaction looks like? Everytime I have been there expressing my concerns she has been unkind, accusatory, deceptive and flat out a jerk! So the outcome of the story is; she's a person without ethics or empathy and an irresponsible business owner. May she wake up one day. read more

Lovely little nail salon. CONs: Ok its not a spa. Nor does it really look like one. There is the slight scent of acetone in the air when the place is busy with customers. When I first came in, there was only one other lady there. Only when 3-4 more girls showed up (as my toes were drying) did the nail polishy odor became noticeable and my eyes got a little itchy. Better ventilation would be nice. PROS: Very reasonably priced. And this place is spic and span. I saw them clean out my foot tub with disinfectant after I was done with the treatment. The girls in salon were polite, helpful, and thorough. They may work fast but I thought their mani and pedi was just as good as ones I've gotten at Moodz and Bella Sante. The Flat screen TV was plus; you can watch while they do the treatments. Though I would've preferred HGTV to Dr. Phil. They use good quality polish, OPI. And as long as you make an appointment you have no issues with waiting. read more

Am sad that more people are discovering this place. I went back for the second time today (yes my previous pedicure almost lasted 3 weeks!) and Kim and Cindy were so sweet. Let me back up. I called them at 5:45pm to ask what time they close. They said 7p. I asked if they could squeeze me in for a mani/pedi if I got there soon. They said, sure. I got there and Kim and Cindy worked on me at the same time. Kim was the one I had last time and this time she was super friendly and smiley. Cindy was good, but Kim took over my pedicure after my mani at some point so maybe Cindy is still learning? Anyhow, Kim was so precise and really took her time. And she had to stand and do my mani the whole time. While I waited for my nails to dry, she even waxed some lady's brows and upper lip in prob. less than 5 minutes and the patron seemed pleased. (She came in around 6:30p and asked to have a brow wax and a French pedi and they also happily accommodated her.) read more

Wow, what a find! I'm super picky about pedicures, but with very limited time as a working mom, I needed some place close by. There are a ton of nail salons around the area, but none come close to the quality and cleanliness of Belmont Nail Salon. My first visit, I walked in and asked if they could take me for a pedicure. They took me within 5 minutes, offered me water, brought over magazines and made sure I was comfortable. They were accommodating, friendly and very fairly priced, actually on the inexpensive side. I'm new to the area, so I was looking for a new nail salon that could do UV Gel extension fills on my nails. Luckily enough, Belmont Nail Salon was right around the corner. The staff was kind and the atmosphere was light, which was a major plus, though I was not happy with the end result of my nails. They were beautiful at first, but they ended up peeling off within the next week, which was a shame because I had high hopes. If I didn't have such a high need for the gel extensions, I would have gone back for a normal manicure again. read more

I got my nails done bi-monthly for two years and I still get the occasional mani/pedi and out of the dozens of places I've tried this is by far the best. They are attentive, careful, gentle and relaxed and you'll end up with the best nail shape and paint job you've ever had. They also have a huge variety of OPI and essie (my favorite), which other salons don't normally have. The hours aren't posted but they usually open around 9 am and close around 7 pm. It's great! They are so careful and really do a nice job. The only thing I would warn you against is picking an old nail polish - as one of my manicures held up significantly shorter than other ones, and i blame it on the nail polish. Belmont Nail Salon and Spa has recently been remodeled, so it really does resemble a spa environemnt. They have all new equipment and a nice range of nail polish colors to choose from. I have never had trouble getting in for a manicure or pedicure, even when I have called at the last minute. They have many staff on hand to work with everyone who comes in. You can call and make an appointment or walk in. Every time I have been in, there have been "regulars" there, which tells me they have very faithful customers. I am one of them! I was visiting a friend in Boston for the weekend we decided to get pedicures. Yelp gave this place a decent review so we checked it out. I'm not sure where the good reviews came from, we certainly were not impressed! My pedicure was max 15 minutes from start to finish. No attention was paid to the rough calluses on my feet, all I got was a 30 second light scrub. When I pointed out the calluses she missed, she said okay I'll cut them (!). No thanks! Every other place I have been have tools (like a cheese grater) or creams for calluses- she just used a nail file which did basically nothing. At least twice I had to point out an area she missed which she then half assedly addressed. When I looked closer at the paint job, I noticed polish on my skin around the nails. Very slapdash. The worst part was the fact that they don't change the towels between pedicures!! They just fold them over. So unsanitary!!! Do not come here. read more
