So far, so good, but reviewing a nail shop is hard. Gotta give it some time and see what happens. So I can only speak for so far. Everyone in there is really nice and the shop itself is beautiful, clean, and smells really good. They charged me 5$ extra for OPI regular polish cause "it last longer." I never heard of that and usually get my toes done before my polish fades anyway, but of course I did it. There are no bubbles in the water, and I felt kind of cheated out of the best parts of a pedicure. The massaging and bottom foot scrub. She was so delicate about everything that it didn't feel like anything was getting done. I wanted my nails cut a bit but kind of evened out to the rest, think that was communicated correctly, or I was misheard. I didn't want to correct her after cause I felt like then it would all just get cut super short. All in all, the manicure came out nice, Just wish my nails were more the same length. Makes it weird some short some long. I usually just do the tip of the ring finger, I've never been charged extra to do it, but they charge 3$. Of course I paid it. They put gloves on your hand to make it easy when you're taking your gel off. I did enjoy it here. All in all, I am happy with the outcome, and I will be going back. read more

After breaking up with my old salon, I was hopping around places trying to find one my partner and I liked. Once we found Grace and her team, our search was over. We have no problem getting last minute appointments, my nails grow out before I have a problem, like a chip, and the service is always friendly. I wish there were more dip colors but Grace amazes me with the care she shows every time we come to the salon. The nails turned out perfectly, everyone was really nice and professional. Grace was extremely friendly and did a wonderful job. She knew all the clients by name and everyone was very personable. I was a long time customer of dove nails as I work up the street. The only person I really liked there nail tech wise was Chloe. I gave Dove nails a shot multiple times in the past and wasn't much of a fan but then I found Chloe. I had an appointment scheduled with Chloe on 11/4. I had called to tell them I was Going to be late to my appointment, and the phone call was odd. They got super quiet and said Chloe was on vacation. I was wondering in my head why they wouldn't have told me that before, because if I knew I wouldnt Have went. I felt bad about no call no showing, so I went. I had To see someone new because I'm a frequent customer I didn't want to no call no show or walk out. By the time my nails were done, I questioned Wether we were finished. I do dip, and the drill wasn't used once. They weren't coated with clear polish. I was There for an hour and I was Already mad no one told me previously Chloe was on vacation, and Grace the owner was in Japan. I left but ended up calling the next day very nicely saying my nails looked awful. It's almost like the girl who did them knew she didn't do them right. She had me come back right away. When my nails were soaking off, I could See her watching another tech and how she was doing them. I'm convinced she didn't even know how to do dip. She thought I was there for gel. Why would she even do them in the first place. So she re did them, for free of course. They didn't look much better but I gave up with complaining because I was Just going to have them last until Chloe got back. Every single nail was flimsy and they all broke yesterday, 11/21. My nails always last 3+ weeks. For $60 you would expect them to. I was Working so hard on my length and every one broke to my nail line and even some nails ripped off. Last night I literally Lost sleep because they hurt so bad. I had Called on my way home to see if I could Book An appt. I asked If Chloe was back from vacation and they said "ummm no" I said Ok so is she just not coming back? And they said ya she doesn't work here anymore. Why was I lied to? Why couldn't they have just told me the truth from the beginning. This is why I'm even more angry. I'm angry because now I have No nails and they hurt, and I was Lied to. I've been trying to get the owners information but I cant Get a hold of it to ask her for my money back, in which anyone in this situation. Would agree. It has just been 2 weeks and now I need To pay someone else again. I wasn't going to come onto google review but it's the only hope in the owner calling me to resolve this. I called last week and asked for her email address and they told me she didn't have one and that she'd call me. She still hasn't. i went there for the first time a few months ago and had a great experience. The second time, I brought my sister in law from overseas, as a treat before a wedding. we were unusually rushed and semi scolded to choose colors within 2 minutes, ( we were 5 minutes early for the appointment and still rushed AND the place was empty!) . When I requested a particular color they were actually irritated. My sister in law's pedicure lasted 15 minutes at most, the technician cut her toe after scraping too quickly and aggressively and did not even apologize. We wanted a relaxing mani- pedi and got a very rushed, semi unpleasant experience.The owner is lovely but the technicians we had were not!! I had been excited to find a new, fun place for my monthly treatments but Im going back to my old place. read more

I just moved to Belmont and was browsing yelp for a nearby salon. Dove is in a really convenient location, and there is a parking lot. I asked for short, squared nails and was recommended the prettiest pinky white nail color. The manicurist did an excellent job cleaning up and painting my nails, and did a great hand massage. I appreciated the safety precautions that they took to keep customers safe during COVID. I also love that they only do regular and gel nails, because I hate the sound and smell from acrylics. Wished she would keep her mask on over her nose but she kept her distance so I have no qualms. Lots of color selections! Cruelty free brands were more expensive. This is my new nail spot! Went during the week early afternoon needless to say they were not overwhelmingly busy. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone here( the staff) was helping each other. I had Claudia as my pedicure tech, she was a delight. Between the comfy chair, the leg massage, the hot rock rub and the wax treatment on my heel I was so relaxed. Prices are moderate but I got my money's worth there are places just a few miles away downtown that charge the same for less work. Plus at the drying station a young man was offering neck/ back massages while you are sitting there. Tip as you feel fit. I did not have a good experience I had manicure pedicure for myself and my husband the ocean treatment the owner started in me then left me with all the wrapping in my legs and went to another customer for at least 20 minutes whatever she had in my heal watapped started to sting burn my skin I finally spoke up she waited for the other worker to finish meanwhile my skin was hurting . the girl was not great did not file or cut my cuticles I had to tell her that it was not done . whatever chemical they used also bothered my husband feet . we paid 130.00 for both of us my husband did not get the manicure . we could not wait to get out . she knew I was upset and gave me a free manicure card and apologized but too late I will never go back there. we still have the scar it left read more

It was clear they were overbooked or accepted walk-ins to close to set appointments. They did not acknowledge us when we arrived (on time) and after 10m+ minutes of waiting, I was able to flag down an employee attempting to run off after another customer paid. She gave a dismissive 15m estimate, which seemed optimistic. I told her we couldn't wait, and she said "that's OK." I guess it is OK to them. Recently the business has been taken over by a incredibly kind woman named Grace. They also have a new addition, dip powder nails! I myself went in today for a dip powder manicure, as well as a regular pedicure. I am incredibly pleased with my nails. Grace the new owner did my nails with such care and made sure they looked absolutely perfect. I was a bit nervous going in not knowing what to expect, but they definitely exceeded my expectations. I've been here 4 times now. The first time I came the woman clipped my toe. 2nd time she yelled at me for leaving a $6 tip and said she wanted more. Thought it was a fluke and wanted to support Belmont business, so I returned with a friend from out of town. She left an $8 tip for $35 service and she was yelled at. This last time I was waiting in line to leave a tip and the woman yells "don't leave before leaving a tip". Do I have some double walking around not leaving tips? OK, I hate to do this, because I LOVED my first experience at Dove Nails. But my second experience was a nightmare. I made an appointment for after work and the girl I had seemed exhausted and distracted, and more than a little loopy. She checked her phone multiple times during my appointment (which was fine once or twice, but she texted and even answered the phone multiple times!), kept ducking into the back room, and kept complaining how she couldn't wait to go home. It made me feel really uncomfortable, like I was keeping her there when she didn't want to be. Worse, though, was how distracted she seemed and the lack of attention to detail. She kept dropping the tools and, worst of all, cut me multiple times, making me bleed a significant amount, on multiple cuticles/fingers! I should have just got up and left but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. She kept me for over an hour and a half, when my first shellac manicure took a mere 20-25 minutes. To top it off: no free shoulder massage. I am really disappointed and I won't be back to Dove Nails. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for a long time. I always get a gel manicure done. I call her or stop by for booking an appointment. I went there yesterday to tell her I need to come in the following day for a removal and the other day for gettting my gel manicure done. She said its okay its okay. I went there today and remind her Im here for removal and need to book an appointment for new gel manicure tomorrow. She got very angry and started questioning me for coming only removal in front of a lot of people and yelling at me. I told her that I came in yesterday for booking removal and new gel manicure separately. She said I'm making them more work so need to pay extra.( normally they dont charge you for removal if you get your nails done there) and kept asking why I dont come in once. Finally told her my privacy reason I do that because of my religion beliefs. I'm a muslim woman who believes in the nail polish should be removed before Ghusl or Bath (Major Ritual Ablution) in Islam. She said she doesnt care. Its her business place and she does not care about this. She told me thats a stupid thing, do not book an appointment for gel manicure and don't come here again. i showed her the description of my beliefs from google and she said she doesnt care, thats not her business she only cares about her business place and she thinks I always go there for removal separately ( even though I can do that because Im the customer never went there for a removal) but I always go there with clean nails to get gel manicure done. I remove previous gels at home to get my ghusl done. She said Im rude for not accepting her reaction to my religion beliefs. I kept telling her to be respectful for my faith but her reaction was very insultin. I felt so bad and heartbroken. Im so angry for this disrespectful attitudes. I will look for my rights! this is very racism and she owns and runs a business! I paid for the money she asked me and left there. First time here and I'm very impressed. Facilities: Clean Massage Chairs: Lots Staff: clearly love their jobs and love people. They made me so comfortable, asking if I wanted water or magazines. Best part? All the extra massages. I got a nice long shoulder massage while I was getting a manicure. I got a nice relaxing leg massage during the pedi and then another massage during the mani. Also, for no extra charge, they do paraffin treatments on both the heels of your legs and your hands. I've never done it before so don't be intimidated when they take your hand and dip it into what looks like liquid wax. It isn't hot at all. read more

I've lived around the corner from them for a while and didn't even realize they were there, but now that I know I will be making it a regular stop. I am never going back. I got a manicure and pedicure that were both rushed. And it wasn't even busy! The pedicure was about 15 minutes long and she did not massage at all. She put the lotion on my legs and then washed it right off and that was it. The manicure was also rushed, about 10 minutes long. She had me pay for everything before she painted my nails and I didn't tip (I usually tip at the end anyways but this time I just did not think that she deserved a tip). She finished my manicure and as I was drying she was talking to 2 other workers who were staring right at me so I wonder what they were talking about... so unprofessional and rude. But that's not even the worst part! While I was walking out one of the workers that she was talking to stopped me and asked if I gave a tip. So that made it very clear that they had talked about me. If you are a worker there and are reading this: Tips are optional and are based on if you do a good job. You will NOT get a tip from me when you rush and talk about me to other workers. And you shouldn't ask people if they tipped because, again, tipping is NOT required, especially if you didn't work for it. read more

I walked in for a mani/pedi and no wait! The owner is super friendly and welcoming. The gel manicure was absolute perfection. Great color selection, attention to detail on nail shape and everything. But the pedicure was lacking for the price. Although there was attention to nail shape, nothing else was done to the bottom of my feet which are covered in callouses. I really needed the pedi stone/exfoliator on my heels and toe pads which in my experience should be standard during a pedicure. read more

What a find! I randomly try nail places based on yelp reviews and yesterday I happened into Dove. From the moment I walked in it was like they rolled out the red carpet for me! They were very warm and welcoming and asked for my email address and birthday so they could give me a free bday manicure. Plus, you get a card for a free manicure (after you get 11). What a deal! I was surprised the manicure was only $15 because it included paraffin wax and a shoulder massage. The woman doing my manicure, Mickey, was very sweet to me even though I smudged one of my nails while drying. She fixed it and then offered me a cup of tea. Today I went for my appointment, and this rude woman comes in and says the manicure she got yesterday came off and she demanded it to be redone. They were happy to do it, but all the technicians were busy with customers, she told her she would need to just wait 20 minutes until one was done. She was told, she was heading out of town and needed it done right away. So, of course, I had to wait 20 minutes or so after having an appointment. Also, my daughter did not get her full pedicure services, because the technician was new and did not know. Despite all this, they did not give me a discount for first having to wait and second, not having the full service. I was not happy. This was not the way to treat a regular customer. If you want a cheap, fast pedi, this is the place to go. They don't even take the extra minute to let the water for the foot bath get warm. Foot buffing was the heel only and took no more than 7 seconds for both feet. Calf scrub/massage was no more than 15 seconds for both legs. Pedi seems good enough...will wait to see how long it lasts. When all was said and done (which was very little), I was in and out in 35 minutes. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Overall, not the best experience when I went for a mani/pedi. Given the huge selection of nail places in the area, I will not give this place another chance. Pros: It's a new business that's been open for about a month so all the equipment is new and in good shape. I was seated after only a few minutes wait walking in on a Saturday morning. Decent massage chairs if you're going for a pedi. It's nicely decorated and clean. It's affordable - $38 for a mani/pedi, (but (slipping in a con in here) they charged other clients more if the person had lots of callous. I've never seen a place charge extra for this - it seems rough feet should be par for the course, right?) Also, they use paraffin wax on your heels and hands, which was nice. Cons: The biggest problem - they were having trouble with their card machine, and kept trying to swipe my card. I should have stopped them, but I was assured they were getting an error message and it wasn't charging my card. I was charged five times. Now, I would want to be understanding about this, mistakes happen, but when I called on the phone, their English wasn't very good (not an issue when it's simple transactions, but it's an issue to me when you have to work through a problem) they couldn't answer my questions, and it's all turned in to a big hassle. I will fix the extra charges through my bank instead. To boot - I am not thrilled with the manicure. The shape on some of my nails is uneven and it started chipping on a few nails by the next day.
