It does not smell overwhelmingly like toxic fumes like other places. The prices are comparable to other businesses in the area. 0 stars. Lisa did a terrible job, was rude, and tried to steal my jewelry. I hadn't been to a nail salon in over a year. I had bad experiences at a salon in Medford and swore them off completely. I was on medical leave from work and working through some CPTSD. I figured I might try to work through my racial trauma regarding nail salons... I was scheduled to see Lisa for my pedicure and dip w/ tips manicure. She immediately rubbed me the wrong way by ushering me towards the more expensive polishes and then rushing me as I tried to select a "cheaper" one. This was the only time I remember getting a pedicure that I didn't pull out my phone to play a game or listen to a podcast. It was so quick. Too quick. She was rough with my cuticles, and didn't put any lotion on my feet (I left the salon ashy). The polish looked fine, but within 2 weeks started chipping. I can't remember the last time I had toe polish chipped. It gets better. I wanted my nails in a squoval. I wanted red on most nails, and a nude color with a leopard design on the rest. She didn't listen and didn't care. She applied the tips and immediately started trimming the sides off. I stopped her and repeated I wanted squoval. She acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. I said, "Fine, let's do rounded." Dear reader- kindly direct your attention to the attached pictures. She gave me thick talons. She did not listen. And she did not care. Once she put a clear coat on, I went to exam her work and she told me not to move my hands. I was exhausted at this point. I realized at home she didn't do any work cutting or cleaning cuticles. Now I realized it had nothing to do with messing up the nails. She didn't want me inspecting her work. She knew she did me dirty. Yet when I went to pay, (via Venmo, to the owner's account) she kept tap-tap-tapping on her Venmo card and saying "TIP. TIP. TIIP. TIP." I told her I can only do one thing at once. And I have ADHD. But she kept doing it. She did not listen. And she did not care. Tap tap. TIP. Tap. TIIIIIIPP. I hate that I tipped 18%. I should have given her the few dollar bills at the bottom of my purse. Oh. I'm not even done! The true kicker... I had my watch and chain bracelet on, as I always do. I took them off and planed them near the phone stand as the manicure started. Before I went to pay I could not find the bracelet. Only my watch was there. I'm looking for it and she keeps telling me it's in my purse. No. It's not. But I looked anyways because I just knew... As I was "looking" in my purse, she miraculously finds it, near the wall that I never went near. She took my bracelet when I went to wash my hands and was banking on me not paying attention or just being a stupid monkey. The owner, Tiana I think her name is, seemed pleasant. But she needs to get rid of Lisa. She insulted my intelligence and stole from me. I laughed as she gave me a stamped loyalty card. You treated me poorly, and I'm supposed to come back? There's a reason so many women, especially Black women, are choosing to do their own nails at home. read more

An older lady who doesn't speak English was doing my nail, idk what she was rushing for. I don't mind if she is rushing as long as she can do the nails well. Probably with the best of intentions, but a minimum of common sense, this establishment advertises in Yelp as wheelchair accessible. Wrong! I phoned to make an appointment, and that went well. The manager reiterated wheelchair accessibility -even in the restroom. False! I rolled along from my home 23 minutes away and, in spite of Arlington's terrible sidewalks, met the establishment, the manager who came out to the sidewalk to argue that the step into the salon was accessible. Hopefully it's only false advertisement and non-compliance with federal requirements (A.D.A.), and not simple lack of intelligence. read more

I go to Tiana regularly and recommend her very highly. I've been seeing her every 2-3 weeks for dip manicures for almost a year, and she's kind, professional, thorough, gentle, and very detail-oriented. She's always cool with my requests for weird designs, and does precise, clean lines every time! She's given me beautiful clouds, spider webs, rainbow stars, neon lightning bolts, glitter blood drips, ombré flames, and other similar things. Usually I leave really positive reviews for local shops around my neighborhood but this one was really Terrible Experience. First impression... the place is big and it looks clean and spacious but other than that good impression they don't give a more positive impression. The staff is not really friendly. Terrible manners and short tempered people just because I had more questions about their polish and the different prices. The manager.... (not sure if she was the manager but because she was the first one in welcoming me and her English was better than the rest of the other technicians) was somehow a little bit more amicable. However, the rest of the staff was all the time talking loud within themselves and laughing at expense of you and your questions. I've been to other nail salons around my neighborhood and as I said before I want them to succeed but this will be the first and last time I go there. Won't give them another chance for sure. The technician who did my nails was rude and did a mediocre job. She damaged one of my nails so instead of fixing and making better, she just covered with another layer without polishing the nail again..... My daughter and her friends went here today to get mani pedi was for a dance. Pricing online was not complete and the workers did not explain which polished and service were upcharges. They also offered a discount for multiple services but didn't publish what the discount was or provide a price before services were rendered. When I returned to say that I did not think this was fair to not make prices clear, especially for a child (young teen) they did not provide me a partial refund or other form of acknowledgment I would not recommend using this place for lack of clear pricing but if you must, request a price quote after specific polish, etc is chosen before services are rendered read more

This is the worst nail experience i have had in the greater Boston area. I had an appointment, and waited 20 minutes. Then was rushed through my dazzle dry mani-pedi. They didn't even fully remove my existing fingernail polish. I have been using dazzle dry products for years and this is the first salon that didn't allow time to dry between coats. I suspect it will peel off in a few days. I just spent time moisturizing my own feet and hands and my heels are still rough. Staff was rude. I followed Tiana from the old place she worked at. I highly recommend her. She gives the best natural and thin looking dip nails around and they last! (I'm a hairstylist and my hands are constantly in water and chemicals) She's kind and thorough unlike any nail tech I've been to around this area. Pedicure I had done with Cindy for the first time was great as well! She was very sweet and thorough. The extra long 15 minute massage I requested was so relaxing. She wasn't afraid to really get in there (my feet feel very clean and well groomed, which is very important to me since I'm on the feet all day) The vibe of the place was quiet and calm and I like how it's a smaller staff. Honestly the space could use an update with the interior but the service was good so I didn't mind. It doesn't feel like a sweatshop in there and it doesn't reek of chemicals. Easy access by the 77! I could really use a WISH right now. I've been going to the owner's salons since I was 9 years old. When she finally opened her own salon, several years back, of course I followed her to Wish. I come here for top-notch manicures and pedicures. The waxing is good but too expensive for my blood, and I've never tried the hair services. I like the broad range of services -- including hair, nails, facials and waxing -- I like the way they decorated and I really like the owner. She's a riot! But I'm just not sold on this place yet. I'm with Robyn on this one. I went there several times for my hair and nails. My nails were fine, but I was never really satisfied with my hair. I get partial foils and I always get really bored waiting for the process to be done. At the end of all that, the stylist asked me each time, "So, did you want me to cut it or something, too?" I can go ahead and write this, because I'm not likely to return. I went in here with the longest, strongest fingernails I've ever had and came out with very short, rather uneven, overly square nails. Well, actually, I didn't leave the salon like that, I asked them to round my nails off and they did and they were kinda bitchy about it. Fine job on my toes (except they didn't have my color green) and my cuticles, but no better than average. I liked looking out the big windows from the pedicure chairs, and the price was right. I'm starting with so-so too. I just moved to the area and was spoiled by a wonderful nail tech at my old place. I got a full set of artificial nails at Wish. They were OK, but not great. The receptionist really wasn't that friendly. The nail tech was nice and thorough, but I don't like that they use the machines to file your nails - it's too easy to do real damage to your nailbed that way. I'm going to look for somewhere else that does hand filing. I also took a look around at the materials they use and sanitation - again OK, but not great. (My mother was a cosmetologist, so I learned what to look for from her). They use generic labeled bottles for supplies - which often means that they use the cheapest materials. I also didn't see any containers of sanitizing solution out for them to be soaking their instruments in. I don't know the laws in MA yet, but that was definitely a violation in OH. Although the location is convenient, I'll try several other places before trying this salon again. read more

Wish is my favorite salon in Arlington. The staff are all really friendly, and more often then not, they can accomodate you if you walk-in. The pedicures here are the best around, but I can do without the really rough salt they use on your legs! My pedicures last about 8 weeks, which is a great! read more

I regularly get manicures and pedicures (more often pedicures) here, and can only speak to that service. They do a nice job, have nice facilities and recently got really fancy new pedicure chairs! The cost of a mani and or pedi is on par with most of the local salons. You can find cheaper with the occasional deals other establishments offer, but I've always had consistently good services here, and cannot say the same for other salons. read more

The good - I have a really nice looking pedicure that a few days in is still looking fresh. The bad - the massage chairs didn't work well, there was a huge communication gap and there was about 3 mins of massage. The total $30 pedicure was about 35 mins long with a lot of soaking time. Did a walk-in for an eyebrow waxing on a Saturday morning. Places was busy and there was no receptionist at the desk when you walk in. After standing there awkwardly for a few minutes one of the girls noticed me and said someone would be right with me. The awkward start aside, the rest of the experience was great. I am not one for getting pampered, ever, but I HAD to get a manicure after I got engaged last weekend. My nails were a horrible mess and embarrassing so I decided to get the gel manicure. I was a walk-in and didn't have to wait at all (it was a Saturday morning around 11am). I had Joanne or Joanna (I can't remember her name). She was SO nice and very friendly and chatty. I would definitely recommend going to see her, she knows what she's doing. It was a little pricier than a regular manicure, but definitely worth it, especially if you want it to last more than a week! read more

I have been to this salon several times; once for a haircut and twice for nails.I would agree with other reviewers that the nails came out pretty nice, but wasn't very happy with the haircut. Agree with one of the other comments that the staff is not really very friendly. In a service business like hair cutting, their should be a certain level of chatty-ness and social etiquette. I guess my specific comment on the nails is that they give you sense that you are rushed, like they have 10 other clients to do after you, so they better hurry up. When Wish first opened, I was so happy to go there for a good wash and blow dry. The last time I went I had an unpleasant experience. I was getting my hair colored and called the salon prior to my appointment and asked if they charge extra if they use more color. She said no several times. When I was getting my hair colored, I found out that they do charge for extra color and not only that, you have to get a blow dry and pay extra, compared to other salons that let you sit under the dryer which means you don't pay extra. On top of this, one of the workers there kept accusing me of getting my hair cut and tried to charge me for it, when in fact it wasn't true. By the time I was done, I could have gone to a better place, been treated nicer and paid less. Be cautious!! read more

I have not had my hair done there, but I have had a pedicure there and it was terrific. Everything was clean and the technician did a good job with everything. Did you guys know that they also do massage? The massage therapists are excellent and the rooms are very nice and quiet and relaxing. They are even open on Mondays! They do the hot stone, but the regular Swedish style massages are the bomb! I left there relaxed and pain free. They are constantly offering specials, so i got a deal for $50. Can't beat it! read more
