The assistants/ aides available through the appointment are all knowledgeable, personable and attentive - primarily working with Aalia and Noah - under the supervision of Dr. P and Christina the whole time. On some appointments my program has been adjusted on the spot - again - mind-blowing skill. Always accurately targeted. I walk away sweating after every appointment and already see improvement. I have enjoyed working with Christina and the group of aides. I feel like the exercises are really helpful and the cupping has helped a lot with my fascial pain! I wish they had later hours because it's hard to find a time to go before 5pm. They have also been really helpful in moving my appointment up when I have gotten out of work early to attend. I would highly recommend this physical therapy center! They only schedule up to two weeks in advance. They have a very strict cancellation policy with an 80 dollar charge which makes it a bit challenging to schedule when my work schedule can be unpredictable. read more

Care Quality: 8/10 Office experience: 10/10 I cannot recommend this physical therapy office enough! The front desk staff are some of the most attentive and helpful and warm that I've experienced in a medical office. You can tell they actually care about their jobs. The same can be said of the therapist and the aides that work there as well as well as the doctor herself. Everyone here cares about their jobs and they care about their patients. I came in with my first big injury to my right forearm and was originally told that it would take months for it to heal to the point where I could work out again. I worked with Mike and his awesome aides for a month and change and my arm has healed enough to where I can get back to weightlifting with my right arm. My only critique is that sometimes the office was so busy I didn't have any personal space to do my exercises. Their support has been invaluable for my recovery journey. I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews. I take no pleasure in leaving a negative review, but in this instance it is warranted. My experience with Belmont Shore Physical Therapy was not good. I saw the owner, "Dr. P" twice, at the intake on my first visit, and again yesterday. She was ... adequate. Probably the most positive thing I can say about her. The vast majority of the time you're working with "aides" with varying levels of training and experience. Tim was excellent, as was the young man with black hair and glasses (I'm sorry I don't recall his name). He has great potential. Unfortunately most of the work is done with young girls who lack maturity, training, communication skills or adult supervision. I had 6 sessions here. As I left yesterday I canceled all of my remaining appointments. Overall this was a waste of my time. read more

I just finished five weeks of therapy. The therapy was well designed for my improvement. Every minute of my hour was utilized: The supervised exercises were specially designed for me. The exercises were followed by one-on-one attention from Dr P. and the "icing on the cake" was the option to finish the hour with an ice pack. The staff are ALL courteous, upbeat, knowledgeable. Dr. P. is very present, so if there are any adjustments to be made, she is there to do it. The staff are very collegial - meaning they assist each other. The atmosphere throughout the office and exercise area is calm and upbeat. After each appointment you feel truly rejuvenated. I was referred to Belmont Shore by my attorneys after being hit by a speeding work van, which resulted in my year-old Audi being totaled. Following the accident, my right shoulder felt completely out of place, and I experienced pain in my neck and back. I had an initial evaluation with Christina and began a series of sessions to rebuild strength in my shoulder, neck, and back. Throughout my recovery, I worked with both Christina and Michael, as well as several aides, depending on my availability. A huge shoutout to the entire team! I first came here on the recommendation of my spouse who came here a while back and was very happy after. Easy to find, there is plenty of parking in the neighboring area, if not out front. The front office staff is really friendly and helpful with setting up appointments and reminders. I was experiencing intense shoulder pain and felt generally weak in my arms. Dr. P set me up with a really great program that immediately started alleviating my pain which led to gaining actual strength. I was given a really helpful packet with the information to take home so I could continue my exercises there. There is also QR code on there too you can scan if you prefer an app, it was really easy to use. Every single person I worked with was really kind, helpful and super knowledgeable. I felt awkward and in pain and I never felt rushed or anything. I was even having trouble with timing breaths in between reps and was guided through that. I honestly can't say enough good things about Belmont Shore Physical Therapy. I've been going here for about 2 months for pain in my upper back. Their expert care gave me my pain-free life back again. A special shout out to Dr. P for her expert treatment program and Mike and Kim for implementing it to perfection. They're all such a delight to work with. Back story - I had a severe back infection followed by surgery and titanium rods put in my lower back 4 years ago. Although I recovered very well, due to the exquisite work of Dr. Bae at Cedars Sinai , I still had some intermittent back pain. In February it became daily pain that lasted for 6 months. I was lying on heating pads. using CBD cream, and taking advil multiple times a day with very little relief. I was unable to do much without hours of pain afterwards. I thought that I'd need to get cortisone shots or have another surgery. I have to admit that I was skeptical when Dr. Kamrava, the pain management specialist who works with Dr. Bae, gave me an RX for physical therapy. I had tried physical therapy in the past for other issues and it wasn't successful. I decided to go to BSPT because they had excellent reviews and are walking distance from my home. I couldn't have made a better choice! I began to feel better after the first session. Within 6 weeks, I felt better than I had in 10 years. I can now go for walks, garden, go to water aerobics, play with grandkids, cook family dinners, go shopping, etc., all without back pain! Just finished about 5 weeks (3 weeks 2 times/week and then once per week for two weeks). I had a Left Shoulder AC Repair Aug 2020 and a follow up procedure on 11/20/20 for a partial rotator cuff tear (not big enough to fix), so basically scraping and smoothing of the should bones to relieve pain. The PT training provided by Dr. K and team is outstanding! The exercises taught can easily be done at home with rubber bands and doorways (in my case). They encourage movement, flexibility and strength training at a pace that fits your goals. Progress is measured, remedies discussed along the way for your treatment plan and the company while improving your body is enjoyable! Definite recommend! I'm doing my second round of Physical Therapy after my second surgery at Belmont Shore Physical Therapy. The staff is courteous and friendly. Dr. Parisa Refaat, PT, DPT, CLT, has owned the practice since 2008. The staff is very conscious of time and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen at my appointment time. I do my exercises with a staffer showing me the best posture after a quick warm up. For almost seven years, I've been dealing with a cluster of issues in my hip and spine. Following five misdiagnoses, I found a doctor I trusted who correctly diagnosed me and put together a treatment plan. Before we could get started, Covid hit. In 2021, I re-engaged with my doctor who ordered two MRIs, but once again, I was halted. This time by my insurance company's requiring me to do physical therapy first. I spent an entire morning going through my insurance company website researching my options for physical therapists. After so many frustrating experiences, I decided I was going to be picky. From the first visit to her website, something about Dr. Parisa Refaat drew me in. Hers was the first website I looked at, and after going through every other option, I kept coming back to her. My gut was right. I just completed a total of 31 Sessions with Dr. Parisa and her amazing team, Ryan, Kim, and early on Justin and others. From Brigitte and Martha at the front desk (who call the day before every appointment to confirm) to every staff member, especially Dr. Parisa, I was treated with so much care. This pain has been unbearable at times, and her manipulations/stretching were conservative and gentle, honoring my body's limitations at every turn. I suffered a torn labrum in the hip area which required a major five-hour, surgery, along with a ripped rotator cuff which I opted out of surgery and went with this facility and it's great staff for both injuries. I can't say enough great things about this PT facility! Dr. Parisa Refaat is truly wonderful in her professional and personable approach to patients. She has assembled a support team that is amazing as well. From the time I show up until the hour is up, there is no idle time in between excercises. The PA's are on top of your activities. After my 16 visits, I left feeling great. My final day was yesterday, and I'm going to miss going in. The Dr sent me home with a current set of home exercises appropriate to keep on buiiding muscle and flexibility. I was lucky enough that the facility was a 10 minute walk for me, but I would have gladly driven across town for this experience. Good customer service at the front desk and great help from the PT Assistants. And most importantly both of the Physical Therapists, Dr. Refaat and Dr. Lever, are really wonderful. After 2 visits I already started feeling better. I was initially worried about parking on Broadway but I've been 7 times already and have never had an issue. I suffered a complete broke right leg femur, fibula, tibula, compound fracture ankle and all this came from a motorcycle accident Nov.24. 2014. I been to 2 physical therapy places one in long beach and one in Torrance CA and must I say nothing was improving until I met this beautiful place. Came in to Belmont Shore Physical Therapy because I had knee pain while running. I had an ACL tear in 2008 (right) and 2014 (left). I had finished therapy at another location, but wanted to get it checked out again. Turns out, I had a few deficiencies in strength that needed to be fine tuned, so basically, just the finishing touches. Dr. Lever was my physical therapist, and I couldn't be happier. He is a newer grad from Chapman, which may be off-putting to some, but what that told me was that he knows the latest information about my injury and how to make it better. We went through an exercise program, which included reviewing strength and agility exercises I've already done. More importantly, we went through modifying exercises I've done for years and making them more "knee friendly": for example, how to do a proper squat and modify a lunge to target muscles to strengthen your knee. I am a former college athlete, so to think I spent years in the weight room doing exercises with the wrong form?! Oh man! But when seeing the quick improvements I made, I could easily buy into it. After going through the program and kind of thinking about the modifications that he's told me, everything makes sense. I always felt challenged during my therapy sessions and appropriately motivated/pushed to get to the next step. PT aids are surprisingly efficient. They seem to be really on top of things and know what's going on, how to do to the exercises, and manage multiple patients at a time while still being attentive. I dont know how they do it! I also have a sister who is in PT, so I always have talked about my programs with her. Nonetheless she is really impressed with this place and how they've helped me. I just finished my program, and I haven't had problems with running/physical activity since. I rarely feel soreness (unless I do a really tough work out), but more importantly, I don't have to "tap out" because my knee was bugging me. I know how to modify exercises and do them properly so that I don't harm my knee. This place is great, not only for teaching you how to get better, but how to stay better in the longrun and prevent re-injury. My one suggestion is that they get better at calling patients to remind them about appointments. I've been there 11 times and only got about 2 calls for appointment reminders, so I would have missed them if I didn't write them down. LOVE! I tore my ACL and had surgery where they put a cadaver ligament in my knee.. When I first started with Dr. Parisa Refaat, I was struggling on crutches, had Crazy muscle atrophy and was miserable and scared.. Luckily, Dr. Parisa, Chris and Kristina are Amazing!! Friendly, happy, knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, helpful and fun!! They took me step-by-step from barely alive and in pain to walking around normally and happily! I think injuring yourself is always pretty tough.. This PT place definitely makes it all easier. Over the years I've had a few injuries and a couple of surgeries that in order to fully recover, I needed a good Physical Therapist. Dr. Refaat is not a good therapist, she is outstanding! With her experience and in-depth knowledge, I am taken care of until my recovery is complete and I'm feeling brand new! I appreciate that she and her staff make me feel they have a goal with me in mind meaning, my well being and getting me back on my feet is what's important to them.
