By my second appointment, I felt 100% better. I was not thinking about my pain indicating my pain level was at a 0 or 1. Let's be real - you need to put in the work at home. The solution is not showing up to your appointment and going through the exercises at your appointment only. You need to take the learned exercises and continue the program DAILY at home. On a DAILY basis, I run through my program after I wake up in the early morning. The BENEFIT - where there was early morning wake up pain has diminished to no pain to mild stiffness. My husband and I travel/live in our RV full time. I had C 6/7 disc replacement surgery last Nov. I was prescribed P/T before I go back for a recheck in May. I chose this place out of convenience to the Weapons Station. Jesse was my therapist and she was fantastic! I had about 10 appointments in total before we hit the road again. She was easy to talk with and helped to explain things in simple terms. Her aids, Ryan, Jules, Emma, & Sophie were all great. They each had a good sense of humor and really paid attention to me while I was completing my exercises! Even more, I felt better upon each visit. They all made the difference! There were a few other places close by that I could have chosen. I began the program with a knee that was becoming chronically painful. My doctor took an X-ray and found only minor arthritis but no structural damage. So off to PT. My PT was Kyle. He took the time to analyze where the weaknesses was an started to tackle the rehab process and then strengthening the joint. When I started I was having a problem walking for 10 minutes. Now I can walk for an hour without pain. Of course I need to stick with the exercises to maintain the knee tendon strength that Kyle helped rebuild. I highly recommend Seal Beach Physical Therapy. I am a 23 yo male (posting on my girlfriends account to get her more yelp cred). I was very physically active prior to breaking my leg and tearing/partially tearing multiple muscles in my knee from a skiing accident. After I was off crutches I went here as they have great hours and are open on weekends which was oddly rare in PT places I saw. I worked with Charles (the PT) and him and all the assistants were so truly helpful and enlightening. In my ~one month of working with the Seal Beach PT team (after 2 months of being completely weightless on crutches), I not only recovered to where I could comfortably do the activities I did prior to my accident, I learned so much more about technique and more efficient exercises that I now use in my daily gym routine. Please review all invoices before paying any bills!! 7/27/2023 - received a random text that said I have an outstanding bill. It's possible. However, I have NOT received any invoices/bills since I paid them April 4, 2023 = almost 4 months ago. When I questioned it, I was texted the amount, I received false information: "yes, we received your check for $XXX.XX and it was deposited on 4/24/23 but your total balance was for $XXX.XX so there is still a remaining balance of $XX.XX" FALSE - I have made one payment to their office which included the FULL AMOUNT DUE on the invoice I received. Who would be dumb enough to pay a bill like this? No invoice? No date of service? Nothing to show I actually own the money. read more

I have met several different PTs so I can say unequivocally that not all PTs are created equal and you want to be under the care of Dr. Sean Coleman. I love that he tailors the treatment based on the current state of your condition with the diagnosis as a reference, and he does not employ a cookie cutter approach based on a diagnosis. He will also customize your exercise each and every time and make modifications as needed. He is super knowledgeable and his application of the knowledge based on each individual is what really sets him apart and gives me true confidence. He has a solid process to lay the groundwork to recovery. I also think the fact that he is an athlete helps as I was once an avid rock climber and backcountry hiker. He's going to get me there again and even wearing high heels! This review would not be complete without mentioning the awesome support of his team. I have turned away from businesses because of subpar service from administrative and/or operational staff. Linda and Mai were amazing even before meeting Dr. Coleman in squaring away insurance related matters. And PT assistants Kevin, Bernie, and Javi are all awesome! I went thru a TKR in March 2020. I am now 9 months post op. I spent 8 weeks with this group, I went thru 2 PT's, under the supervision of Charles. My experience couldn't have been better and, I exceeded my personal expectations with the help of this great group. I worked hard with the exercises and stretching they gave me to do, and so should anyone that is being sent to PT. I enjoyed the atmosphere and input from all employees here. They made me cry, yell, and even laugh at myself. I'm much better off then when I arrived 3 weeks post op. Long time patient and loved my PT when I started. New issue occurred when I broke my femur about 17 months ago and my recovery has been difficult. My pain increased then and I started having panic attacks and couldn't leave my house. I had to cancel appointments and I was told I was no longer able to make appointments because I canceled to often and could only make appointments for the day of. I was seeing my PT 2-3 times a week. I was bringing in some cash to help with the expenses of the business and obviously I needed the therapy to recover. I was unable to get appointments on most of the days I called because my therapist was working at another clinic towards the middle of the time they decided this. I was extremely disappointed because I had liked my therapist and the assistants. The location was perfect. As medical professionals I was amazed and disappointed that they were unable to be more compassionate and understanding about what I was going through. As I said. I needed to get better and I was just wasn't going to the beach! My other issue- was the professional staff was not friendly with you unless you were their patient. I was a patient there for about 2-3 years and not once did a professional staff member ever greet me. I have been to many different PT's and all of the staff members have always been very friendly and helpful. I'm returning to a location that understands my needs regarding possible cancellations and they have no issues with it. read more

Outstanding facility and staff. Simply put, I have L5S1 herniated disc. So painful, I could not sleep, stand, sit, drive a car, etc. Constant nagging numbness and pain. I was scheduled for surgery at Hoag. Someone recommended SBPT, and after several months I was feeling much better. After about six to nine months, I was 100%. No surgery. Miraculous in my opinion. That was six years ago. I have a new issue in my scapula, and after three weeks I'm already at about 70% recovery rate. This place knows what they are doing. read more

Seal Beach PT is amazing! My therapist, Kyle, has explained so much to me about my knee problem and how my foot and hip are also a part of the problem. I was under the care of Jacob , PT and had a great experience in all sessions for the past 2 months. He is very kind, attentive, prescribed different exercises as required. He monitors the exercises and gives corrections in sessions, very helpful during treatment if needed. Fumi is a miracle worker! I first met Fumi and the staff, post op for my left elbow. They got me right back to my normal routine in no time at the end of 2016. I was so disappointed in myself just a few months later, when I began experiencing severe pain in my right elbow and worried I was once again, headed for surgery. Nope! Not with the assistance of Fumi, Ryan and Savannah. They rock!!! They've got me back in action (even while pregnant now!) and I honestly can't thank them enough. They know what they're doing. I have been treated here on and off for various sports injuries and most recently for status post open external fixation surgery due to posterior sholder dislocation, fracture of humorous and shoulder joint. Surgery resulted in a bone graft and screws placed. I have gone to a number of different physical therapy clinics and worked with alot of different physical therapy doctors. Seal beach physical therapy is hands down the best option for anyone needing physical therapy. The physical therapist and tech are top tier and incredibly knowledgeable. I am always very impressed with the progress I am able to achieve when treated here. The facility is very clean, professionalism is immaculate, versatility of treatment is very impressive, and overall each session experience is better then any other facility I've seen or gone to. I have regained 90 to 95 percent functionality of my shoulder prior to surgery, which far exceeded the expectations of even the surgeon himself. I would highly recommend Seal Beach Physical to anyone. Both my mom and dad have been clients l, as have some of my neighbors all gaining very impressive results. As an RN, I've had the opportunity to work with verious physical therapist. I have not found any physical therapy clinicls to be even close to the level superior patient care provided. My husband has been to several physical therapy places and SBPT just cannot be topped. Seal Beach Physical Therapy is a breath of fresh air in today's "get them in and get them out" style of practice. First, the office staff is fantastic! Pia is just so sweet and she makes the registration and scheduling process so easy. She is friendly, informative and is always on top of business! Second, the facility itself is great! It is bright, clean, & has a great view! They have multiple private rooms, 4 or 5 training tables, fantastic exercise equipment and adequate room to preform all of the required exercises. Ice, E-stem, heating, ultrasound, you name it they have it! And last, but definitely not least, Yassi Haririnia. She is downright fantastic! She TRULY cares about her patients and spends her free time thinking of techniques and exercises to help heal the patients. Physical therapy at SBPT is as good as you can get. I'm an 88 yr old Registered Nurse with a new Total Knee Replacement. I was fortunate to have Dr. Charles Bartleson as my Therapist. Had 18 weeks of therapy 2 times a week. He increased my mobility, decreased my pain and get me back to where I could walk stairs and go back to the gym with my regular routine. He was assisted by wonderful, caring PT aides that completed my therapy with exercises that added to the overall plan. So grateful to have Charles, Crystal, Sa,id and Victor as a team that greatly contributed to my full recovery. read more

I waited to write a review until I was done with physical therapy here, which began last July. After a bad experience at a different place in the area, I was tentative when I began here. But this place is so good that I referred my mother and my wife here when they needed help with physical ailments. Both of their pains were resolved very well. Great staff and therapy. Billing department should be investigated. After 2 yrs I received a mystery bill, including wrong spelling of my name. I called the "billing questions" number and was told the biller would not speak to me nor did I receive a call back as I requested. Deliberately I waited to make my payment before leaving on my last visit and yet 2 years later the biller found something to stamp final notice on and threaten collections without taking a call. read more

Very happy with my 16 sessions of PT with Dr. Sean Coleman at Seal Beach PT. I was my first time having physical therapy and I was a bit skeptical. Dr. Coleman answered all my questions and also taught me a lot about my musculature and bones! He explained what each exercise would accomplish and made each session interesting. At the end of my doctor's prescription, I felt that Dr. Coleman had cured me of my aches! I could not be happier. Everyone there is very professional, and warm and interested in customer service. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS PLACE! I am a Leukemia survivor and was involved in a gym accident. It has been difficult getting back to normal activity. I checked out another rehab facility in the area and was VERY disappointed being treated like a piece of meat. I won't go into the details here. So I was referred by a colleague to this place. I met with Brandon, the owner of the place. He took extensive notes on his laptop and asked me several questions. He then performed a physical exam. After that he immediately began testing my range of motion. This man is an expert in Bio Mechanics. That means he knows the human anatomy inside and out and how to get you on your feet again and possibly better than you were before your injury! In a short time I am doing miraculously better. I am stronger, more flexible and now have knowledge I never had before about keeping my body strong at the core with his targeted exercises and hands-on therapy. I also believe that his hands on approach has also been the key to my continued recovery. This man is a caring, knowledgable expert. Also, all of his staff are courteous and professional. Ruben Lever has worked on me a couple days a week for the last few months and I am up and walking and swimming and riding my bike and even playing a little tennis. I am a FAVING fan of SBPT! 2 1/2 weeks ago i walked in with 8 level pain from my shoulder thru my arm. Having been away, straddling the holidays, I'd been to an Urgent Care and a chiropractor until I could get to my Dr., and all had varying opinions / treatments for what was wrong. However, from my onset into SBPT -- from the warm, efficient office staff ... to my AMAZING therapist Claire ... to the truly supportive set of therapist assistants -- i've felt so wonderfully and accurately: diagnosed, educated, treated and cared for. In fact, feels miraculous just how quickly this team has been able to help me dial down my pain. I've also been impressed with Claire's ongoing research & tools and her open sharing of it all with me. Love that, and I think it helped motivate me to do my part at home! So you have to make a decision. What is more important to you-- physically feeling better or the emotional stress that comes from an incompetent bill paying department? Yes, the therapist was competent ( but wait, she was leaving SB PT....) and helped my minor issues with the few sessions I had. All good. But then, the real problems began. Starting with my insurance company. You know how that goes, "we'll pay, nooo..... this will be part of your deductible , no, maybe we'll pay a bit" and so on. When I finally got the bill, I made two payments, covering the final cost. A few months later, I got another bill from SBPT. Got in touch ( not easy to do if you're a teacher who works long hours and has almost no cell service in her classroom). Long story short, after sending them a copy of my bank verification, a sweet young thing said she would make the correction. A month passes. I get another bill. Huh. Didn't we just clear this all up? Okaaaaayyyyy. Lets try it again. Another email sent and reassurance that "it will be taken care of." So guess what I got another month later? Yup. Another bill!!!! Now I was no longer the understanding lady. Now I became the really really annoyed former client. When the phone was answered by another sweet young thing, I asked for the manager. "I'm the manager" said Mia. OK. Here's the problem. "Let me put you on hold" Another bunch of questions. "Can I put you on hold again?" Again? I sent another email with the bank documentation. "We'll call you in a day or two." Really? Email later: Can we have the check numbers? So I sent additional , much more specific documentation from the bank. I can feel the blood pressure just going up. This is NO WAY to run a business, especially a health care business. I realize that all of the insurance companies and payments can be overwhelming-- so hire someone who can actually do the job! If this is what I have to go through after getting a health service at SBPT, I will definitely find another company. Are you willing to risk your emotional health after having your physical health addressed? Not me! read more

While the physical therapists at Seal Beach Physical Therapy are great, the aides that help you with your exercises after you have seen your therapist detract from the care provided at this office. This office uses many students and interns to help you go through your exercises after you have met with your therapist. Often the aides are very young college students who want to be physical therapists and this offers a great learning experience for the students. However, in my opinion, this diminishes the quality of care the patients receive. The students simply do not know how to work with patients and are very unprofessional. The students do not appear to have any type of formal training on how to deal with patients. Some aides are overly aggressive and push the patients. Some aides do not listen very well to the patients needs and try to make the patient complete an exercise that is too painful. The patients are treated as learning experiences for the students. The students often do not know how to handle and bill insurance companies. Often times the aides are socializing with each other rather than helping the patient. While everyone is nice and friendly and the therapists are wonderful I quit going to this office because I had three bad experiences with three different students. i was tired of the unprofessional students and being treated like a guinea pig for the students to learn on. read more
