I was recently gifted some pasta shells and wanted to buy some sauce to go with it so Belotti Bottega is the place to be! You can buy fresh varieties of pasta and lots of options of sauces (cook within 2-3 days though, it's fresh) to cook at home or eat there bistro style! There's a counter and a few bistro tables/chairs outside so limited seating. This time I bought the rabbit sugo (lightly orangey) and pesto (fresh and bright) and loved them both. My go to sauce is usually the boars sauce that goes with the agnolotti (sorry words, I lost you), but you can't go wrong. If you dine in, you must try the mushroom tagliatelle. I bought the authentic Italian hype. Big time NO. Spaghetti pomodoro was soggy, not al dente. Tomato sauce could have been brighter. Also how hard is it to put a basil leaf on it? Anchovy pasta had good flavor and fortunately wasn't too salty, as anchovy pastas tend to run the risk of. But the bottom of the bowl had about a 1/3 cup of oil left. Basically so much oil that the sauce had separated. It was off-putting. I felt like it was some kind of college student takeout food. Which is fine, just price it accordingly. IMO this is too pricey for what you get. And not worth the calories. read more

Stopped at Belotti bottega for a quick dinner before watching Hamnet at the Piedmont. Belotti the restaurant remains my favorite pasta place in the East Bay (or maybe the whole bay), and I'd been feeling some urgency about revisiting places like this because of my impending move. The salad and the pasta were excellent as I expected, though the pasta portion size was truly very small - maybe that's just because of the special we ordered? Belotti Bottega is such a little gem in Oakland, Piedmont. It's a cozy pasta shop with a solid menu. While their larger restaurant, Belotti Ristorante, tends to require reservations because of its popularity, it was so nice that this location had space for our walk-in party of three. The seating area is small, so it's not ideal for large groups, but it's perfect for an intimate meal or even grabbing something to go. I'll be honest: I'm pretty picky about pasta. Not because I'm a snob about it, but because I don't usually love pasta. That said, even I can't say no to homemade pasta when it's done well, and this place absolutely does. I originally ordered the Agnolotti, which was delicious but a little too meaty for my palate. My friend ordered the Casoncelli, which had a bit of greens, exactly what I realized I wanted. She, on the other hand, loved the rich, buttery, meaty flavor of the Agnolotti. So we swapped! Both dishes were beautifully made and truly delicious. Another friend ordered the Pappardelle with mushrooms in a creamy sauce, and it was chef's kiss. The sauce and mushrooms were perfectly balanced and comforting without feeling heavy. For a moment, I genuinely felt like I was back in Italy. I loved it. I'll definitely be back, and next time I might grab some fresh pasta or one of their pasta kits to cook at home. We are in town for business and Belotti came highly recommended. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the drinks being made, the bartender was attentive, efficient, kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the burrrata and peach salad, agnolotti and tortellini soup. Everything was superb. We got to try the pasta that tastes like a pizza and would go back for that in a heartbeat. Belotti Bottega in Piedmont is such a cool spot. I really love that you can just grab some fresh, uncooked pasta to make at home or stay there for a quick and delicious meal. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful too, which makes the whole experience feel great. You just order your pasta at the register and then find a seat either inside or outside. It is definitely a small and cozy place, so you should really only bring one or two other people. Honestly, you probably won't even find a table if you have a bigger group. Parking isn't an issue at all because there are plenty of spots in the lots nearby or on the street. For our meal, we shared the Lattuga Salad, which had living butter lettuce, lemon dressing, Grana Padano D.O.P., and toasted pine nuts. It was so fresh. Then we got the spaghetti pomodoro e burrata and it was amazing. I had a glass of rose and she had an Aperol spritz, and both drinks were perfect with the food. We finished everything off with the tiramisu. It has homemade Italian savoiardi cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa. It was seriously incredible. This restaurant is amazing! So many fresh pastas, salads, and desserts to choose from. You order first and dine inside or outside small selection of seating for both. They also have a takeout option for raw pasta dishes you can cook at home. I had the insalata golosa perfect for an appetizer or if you're not too hungry. Really really appreciate this place and the care they take in making their pasta and sauces. When I'm in the neighborhood I'm always buying pasta to go with their sauces. I'm into bolagnase and lasagna, so that's usually what I hope for, but ive had their ravioli and other things and it's still amazing. If you don't mind the very small counter seating or the 2-3 outdoor tables on the sidewalk, you'll absolutely love the phenomenal hand-made pasta here. We've had several of the items off the menu and absolutely everything has been cooked perfectly al dente and was super delicious. There's no table service per se - they will bring your food out when it's ready, but water and wine is all self-serve, which is totally fine with me. Small wine list, but fairly expensive markups considering there's no service beyond opening the bottle and giving you glasses. I love it here!!!! I love the convenience of picking up fresh pasta and cooking it myself. They give you instructions too, so you know exactly how to cook the different noodles in case you're new to cooking! The staff is always super friendly, and they always recommend something based on your preference! They are so knowledgeable! I did a pickup order for lunch after seeing this spot on tik tok. I've never had handmade pasta, so I was dying to try it! This was so so so good!! The noodles were perfect and the sauce was so flavorful. I'm only giving 4 stars bc the burrata was a bit thick in some places. I went in the afternoon on a weekday and there was no line. I got the pappardelle and panna cotta to share. They gave fresh bread and olive oil while we waited for our pasta. A small, fast casual and delicious pasta shop! They serve up many types of fresh pastas and items for takeaways but also have a menu for dine in and take out that is much more extensive than I had expected. The menu includes about 10-15 pastas -- all amazing and fresh! I went with the tagliatelle al cinghiale and loved it. My cousins had a gnocchi and pappardelle that were equally great. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon with my best friend, and wow, what a treat! I'd give this place a solid 4.5/5, totally lives up to its Yelp rating. I ordered the Scarpinòcc de Par, which was delicious, filling, and satisfying. Fair warning: I'd recommend sharing this dish because it's quite rich and buttery, similar to gnocchi in terms of density and richness, though the pasta itself is completely different. The fresh sage is absolutely delightful, and the stuffed pasta pockets are filled with what tastes like a creamy cheese. Very yummy! Now for the star of the show: my friend ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro e Burrata, and it was simply WOW! The thick spaghetti (I'm not sure of the exact name) was DELICIOUS, perfectly al dente and pure heaven for my taste buds. That fresh, creamy burrata was to die for, and I only had one bite! I already know what I'm ordering next time. What I especially appreciated was the smooth, creamy texture of the tomato sauce, almost like a tomato bisque, rather than the chunky tomato sauces I usually dislike. I love this local shop where you can either get cooked food to go, for dine in, or buy it to cook at home. They have delicious homemade pastas, sauces, and salad dressing. Their selection of wine, beer, and non alcoholic beverages is also superb. I take my kids to watch them making the pasta while dining in sometimes. Other times, I buy things to go. The tagliatelle pasta only takes 3-4 minutes to cook so a busy mama such as myself can boil a pot of water and turn it off to buy fresh pasta, sauce, and salad dressing from Belotti Bottega. Pick up my kids and then boil the water quickly, cook the pasta, microwave or pan cook the sauce and add the fresh pasta and voila! A restaurant quality dinner is served! My kids LOVED the bolognese sauce with the tagliatelle. I always get the lemon salad dressing but the cinnamon one is also really good. The shop is always clean and easy to dine in if you can snag a seat. There are a few seats outside too. read more

There's some depth of flavor of the pasta filling although they're very similar, and the pancetta is great--not too mush that it falls apart and not too chewy. Way better than the rabbit casoncelli from bellanico. 9/10 Tagliatelle: instant 10/10, lots of boar and wine was strong. Noodles cooked PERFECTLY. Sauce was immaculate. Good for ppl who like strong flavors. Got damn Panna Cotta: not a huge fan. Top layer tasted chewy and dried out. This is mostly their take out side of the business but they do have minimal seating it you want to eat there. The main store on College is great if you want a sit down dinner with the same food, but it's hard to get a good time on a reservation. I've had my eyes on Belotti (Bottega, and Ristorante) for a while so I decided to stop by here for dinner last night before meeting up with some friends in the Piedmont area. I got there around 7 PM and the shop was mostly empty - it is very quaint and cozy with counter style seating throughout the restaurant. I think it can fit maybe 15 people tops - there was no outdoor seating I saw but I presume that is because it's winter and a little colder outside. Ordering is done at the counter at the front - I opted to dine in and for my meal I got myself a Peroni, an order of the Agnolotti, and an order of the Gnocchi Pomodoro. While I was waiting for my food, several people were coming in and out for takeout - you can tell this place is popular. With that in mind, I feel that this place is perfect for dining solo, or with a smaller group (2-3 people) My food was ready in about 15 minutes or so and I started to dig in. I have to say this place is on par with, if not better than, some great pasta shops in SF (notably the Italian Homemade Company and Pasta Supply Co). The agnolotti was extremely meaty - Meaty Filling, meaty sauce (I believe it is a beef reduction... and god damn is is savory). The filling was tender and the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente which gave very nice mouth feel and bite. The Gnocchi Pomodoro was also excellent - the gnocchi themselves were a pillowy soft delight to eat and the sauce was a perfect balance of creamy and savory. All in all, this place definitely can trade blows with some of the best pasta shops here in the Bay. If you're looking for a quaint, homey style restaurant serving dishes well above its weight class this is the place to go. 5/5 read more

Terrible service... I've been ordering takeout from this place for years and loved it up until now. I went into the restaurant to order directly from them while I was out shopping in the area. The woman working there came to the register, didn't even look at me or acknowledge me after a long wait and then walked away and stood in a corner. She looked up at me after I stared her down and told me to wait and went in the back and never came back. There were multiple employees just walking around as well, and I was acknowledged by none of them. When I decided to leave they immediately helped the white couple who were waiting behind me. Who thought that it was acceptable to sell this to a customer? Business owner suggested that I contact CAVIAR for a refund. CAVIAR gave me a $3.12 refund on a $9 item. I am very late writing this review. This restaurant is superb. I cannot wait to go back. I am of Italian descent and I have spent time in Italy and I will say that this is some of the most authentic food I have had on this side of the pond. My friend who joined me for her birthday lunch was delighted. She is also Italian, and we both agreed that the food reminded us of Italy and we were already making plans to go back before we were even done eating. She had the gnocchi, which were like little pillow puffs -just the right amount of sauce, and it was a mouthful of heaven. I had the pasta with wild boar, and I was not at all disappointed. Oof that beef reduction was so hearty, flavorful, and deliciously savory. The flavors were slightly more salty than I'm used to, but I ate every last slurp up! Prices are on the higher side for takeout pasta, but don't forget that these are fresh handmade noodles so you're paying for the quality and effort that goes into your meal! I walked here, so I couldn't tell you how parking is during dinnertime. BUT it is on Piedmont so good luck with street parking, is all I can say. They don't have outdoor seating, and very limited like barstool type seating for maybe 10 people max? Many people ordered online then came to pick up, myself included. If you're looking for a heart-warming, delicious Italian pasta to enjoy at home with a delicious bottle of wine, go to Belotti Bottega! Just had a lovely meal here on an unusually warm evening! The olive oil that accompanied the bread was amazing and we shared two salads and three pasta dishes, all of which were delicious. (If we had to pick a favorite it would probably have been the gnocchi, which were like little tasty clouds). We've had excellent meals at the restaurant on College in the past but may actually have preferred the experience here -- it was all about the food. Belotti Bottega on Piedmont Ave is the take-out version of Belotti Restaurante e Bottega on College Ave. That being said, there are some tables and chairs that you're welcome to use to dine-in as long as they're available - though you'll need to bus your own table (understandably), the staff will still bring you your food and some fresh bread and olive oil to snack on. There is absolutely ZERO difference in quality of food between the two locations, and I have been to both the restaurant and the bottega many many times to make this assessment (and also to just continue enjoying their incredible food). As I said in my review of the restaurant - don't let the price tag scare you off - this is quite simply the best Italian food I have had in California. As a vegetarian, my favorite (by a mile!) is the spaghetti pomodoro e burrata, but the pappardelle al funghi has a vegetarian option that is delightful and the pasta alla ligure was superb as well. Meat eaters I've gone with have also spoken highly about the agnolotti di Lidia and the gnocchi alla bolognese. Don't sleep on the lattuga salad either! read more
