Buyer beware!!! If I could give 1/2 star, I would. We chose this breeder based on the highest recommendation by a friend who has owned many labradors and has one crime Belquest. Additionally, they are a "breeder of merit" with the AKC. We opted for "pick of the litter" as a gift for my 3 year old son's 4th birthday. We drove 4 hours with our 2 small children and were given a choice of 2 males. We chose a chubby cream lab with black eyeliner and a black tummy. We were told to come back 2 weeks later to pick up the dog. Two weeks later I arrived, I was given a much smaller dog who was being treated for suspected giardia. Believing it couldn't be possible someone would bait and switch me, I left with the puppy. I had a nagging feeling this wasn't the dog my son chose, so I pulled over and looked at his tummy, it had 0 black on it. His face didn't have the same wrinkles and he was much smaller than the dog we chose. Which, given 2 weeks had passed-he should have been much larger. I brought the dog back, received a refund quite promptly with no fight. I suspect there is some fraud afoot here. Given the bait and switch I experienced-I think dogs are being bred by inferior bloodlines and passed off as offspring of champions. read more

We were looking for a yellow female Lab and Vicky was very responsive. She asked me which pup as they had 2 and I told her the parents name via online pictures and description. When we arrived that cute pup was there for us to see and she was a happy energetic people friendly puppy so we were delighted and paid the sum and was able to take her home that day. They also had a golden retriever pup and brown and black Labs. I would have liked to have met her parents I should have asked but didn't think but the New Puppy packet contains pictures and lots of helpful information, Nancy I believe the receptionist was very pleasant and who we dealt with on our visit as Vicky was not there. My Husband & I waited almost 3 years to welcome another Lab into our lives after the tragic loss of our previous Lab. We decided to go with a "reputable" Breeder. After seeing Vicky's accomplishments & status with AKC, we were willing to pay more money to get a healthy dog from a champion bloodline. Shortly after bringing our Puppy home & multiple treatments for UTI's that would not go away, we found out she had E. coli in her bladder. I contacted Belquest to ask if any of her littermates had experienced the same thing. I was told all the puppies were doing good & Vicky personally kept one of her sisters which is also doing great. The E. coli finally cleared up, but soon after she was diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney disease. On top of this, she developed Entropion in her right eye which we had to have surgically corrected. I emailed Vicky again informing her that she has been diagnosed with 2 diseases that were most likely hereditary & again asked if any of her littermates had any issues. Needless to say, I have NOT heard back from anyone at Belquest. Since then, our Puppy developed Entropion in her left eye which we also had surgically corrected. Although we love our Puppy, we are extremely disappointed that we spent thousands of dollars on an unhealthy puppy from Belquest! We have spent close to $10,000 in Vet bills in less than 1 year!! I certainly recommend getting Pet Insurance... because there are absolutely NO guarantees with Belquest Conclusion. There were a few red flags about Belquest, which we sadly ignored because we were so excited to welcome a new puppy into our lives. 1) We were warned by other breeders that Belquest Conclusion is a "Commercial" breeder... they are more about the profit than the puppies. 2) Saw some very disturbing reviews, for example: * Belquest sent a picture of a dead puppy in a box to the buyer informing her the puppy died. * Filthy puppies, covered in dirt & feces. (This was not the case with us, you could tell she had just been bathed before we arrived) * Recently I saw a review regarding 5000dollardeaddog, apparently the puppy died of Renal Dysplasia at only 23 weeks & Belquest did nothing. 3) I had to call & email Belquest a couple of times before they would send me any pictures of our puppy. We wanted a Chocolate Female & she was apparently the only one in the litter, I was told the rest were either Male or Black. Their reasoning for not getting pictures to us sooner was because the puppies were too squirmy & it's hard to get pictures of them. We didn't get pictures until 2 days before we went to visit her at 6 weeks old. 4) When we went to visit our Puppy at 6 weeks old, we were not allowed to see her littermates. She was very small, and we wanted to compare her to the rest of the litter. Suzanne said they only allow you to see the puppy you picked out so they will remember you when you come back to pick them up at 8 weeks. We asked if she was the runt, she said no, that all the puppies were small due to it being a large litter (9 pups). When we took our Puppy home at 8 weeks old, she only weighed 7 1/2 pounds... average at that age is 11-17 pounds!! 5) Prior to picking up our Puppy all communication, coordination & paperwork was through Suzanne, nothing with Vicky. Throughout our ordeals, Belquest has responded once to inquiries, and there has been no interaction with Vicky before, during, or after our Puppy transaction. We were blinded by the excitement of growing our Family and didn't pay attention to the red flags. We feel completely deceived by Vicky & Suzanne at Belquest Conclusions. in total agreement with other bad reviews stating to be true...knowingly because the same terrible experience happened to us. We gave a 500.deposit for the pick of litter purchase of 5,500.! When we arrived after a 3.5 hr long drive, the young staff brought out the 5 puppies. Yes all puppies are cute, but they were filthy with diarrhea all over each of them. I read online to ask about puppy temperments and personalities.... I was told they would not know.....the puupies had just arrived the day prior in a (basket) car ride from Ohio to NJ. Wow....I questioned that and also where was the Dam....still in Ohio w/ owner?? Owner...I assumed Belquest.....wrong. When I purchased from a Belquest upcoming litter by online photos of a Dam & Sire the Dam was listed as a Belquest lady. (So, finding out the Dam was from Ohio, I questioned the discrepancy...funny....the Dam's photo was quickly removed to the past greats photo site...my intutitiveness told me something was not right! After 1.5 hrs to interact with puppies we then made our pick. I asked to meet Vickie they said she was busy...I later learned she was there grooming ( in full view) the entire time we were there!! Really? We then made plans to pick up our blue collar pup in two week at age 8 weeks old with Suzanne. One week later, she called us to say our blue collar puppy had died of an intestinal disorder. All of those cute 5 pups had BIG swollen bellies, which I thought was very odd. One pup I would not consider because of a beet red belly rash very full of big bumps. I emailed Vickie several times of my concerns and questions to my fears of non onsite whelping (a seemingly back yard breeder) transporting and weaning from mother @ 6 wk old, seemingly no care and concern for the puppies....she had non-convincing answers...the email reply was more about her and husbands own health issues for reason of why most breeding was filtered out / whelping off premise! Suzanne offered me 3 options/alternative pup from an already 6 week old litter, another upcoming litter or a refund. She was pushing the first option the ready to go home at 8 weeks...now 3/4/21. So I asked for additional " updated very current photos..., to perhaps make that important decision....the reply was they had no one to take the photos, and then I was told Vickie decided I wasn't getting the pup.... "she didnt want to deal" I replied " deal with me?" Suzanne replied YES! "Oh, perhaps because I asked too many questions!!".....do ya think????? They have refunded our deposit and I stand with my intuitive gut that this place is nothing more than a glorified puppy mill as another post stated...with no TLC given to these dogs. And the complaints made on this site confirms my fears for others. I will continue to contact the proper authorities for other prospective buyers beware!! Oh and to tell everyone how uncompassionate & "UNPROFESSIONAL " this place is? When i asked for a simple vetification of documentation / cause of death ( as they stated there was an autopsy) OMG....Vickie emailed a photo of our chosen dead pup in a box subject title blue collar puppy prior to autopsy. Their business is uncompassionate not only to the puppies there but to the prospective buyer!! Which equates to a puppy mills. No TLC there. For 5k a pup they should treat those puppies with love & special health care & cleanliness! They should have look healthy and clean & they were NOT! First i.pressions are lasting one's! I was passing through looking for reputable breeders to purchase a lab puppy as new addition to our family. I came across this review and was just horrified about how neglectful, unethical, and disgusting these "breeders" are. I couldn't help myself but to comment not only as decent human, but as a life long animal rights advocate and lover. I applaud the person for leaving this review and heartbreaking photo. I encourage others to follow to take this one step further and contact animal right groups. We need to save innocent puppies like these that are probably living in unhealthy and unsustainable conditions. Unfortunately, this looks like a back yard breeder or your puppy mill case. Our Belquest puppy is now 3 years old, beautiful and we love him dearly. He is our third chocolate lab. Unfortunately, 6 months after getting him, we noticed an occasional limp and by 1 year it was constant. Turns out that he has bilateral fragmented coronoid process. This is a developmental defect where a genetic component is thought to be involved. This meant more than $5,000 of surgery on his right and left front elbows immediately or he would be lame for life. We understand that Belquest does the requisite testing on their dogs. When we contacted them to alert them of this occurrence, the receptionist sympathized with us and gave us the breeders number to call. We called the breeder numerous times and left multiple voicemail messages. Unfortunately, she was completely unresponsive. I have the best puppy and I had a great experience from this breeder . I received my puppy , at 8 weeks old - last week. The process was easy , my puppy is just amazing ( healthy , beautiful, happy, playful, smart ). She is so smart and I can already tell she is going to be so easy to train. I could not be happier. I already know Id love another puppy in a couple years . My sweet puppy was flown in across the country to me . They handled the entire process . I couldn't be happier . read more
