Extremely unique, clean, good hotel in the middle of Nevada desert. We choose the Belvada as a stop over during our trip to Vegas as a place to rest before going on. This was a great decision. We got one of the suites which was one of the most unique hotel rooms I've ever stayed in complete with 19th century French books and turn of the 20th century charm. Our suite was unique with a smallish living room connecting to an old timey bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and very comfortable. I really liked the Belvada themed shampoo and soap. I don't usually sleep well in hotels but the hotel bed here was great. We also had a nice view down onto the street and the Mizpah sister property to the Belvada. There was a coffee machine, refrigerator and microwave. We really enjoyed our evening in this room and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The location was excellent with a couple different places to get food including an A&W and a casino restaurant just across the street. There's also several shops and amenities within a block or two. Really helpful for travellers. There's also a really neat casino with all sorts of things like written checks from different celebrities and a neat stuffed bear over there. Tonopah is one of the more unique places I've ever been with the vibrant history of the late 19th and early 20th century still echoing loudly in that town. The locals were friendly. Probably one of the best places to stop in the vast, expansive and gorgeous Nevada desert. read more

We stayed here on our way home from Vegas and I am IN LOVE! The Belvada is so cute and so luxurious. We will be making it a must stay on all future trips! It's simply adorable. And convenient. And comfortable. And luxurious. And everything (elevator, appliances, etc) works. As intended. And the rooms have cute Italian espresso makers. And staff are super friendly. I seriously could live here and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Warm, welcoming, friendly and centrally located in the heart of downtown Tonopah. It's got it all. And the old bank safe reading room was so hard for me to leave. We'll definitely be back soon. read more

There is no night staff on duty. You have to check in across the street at the Mizpah. They have a door open to the public until 9 pm. Anyone can enter which is not safe or secure. The coffee stand is closed. Rooms are clean and beds are fine. I won't stay there again due to the security of the place. read more

Round trip passing through Tonopah in December before Christmas. Outbound stayed at a national chain hotel-cold room on arrival, decent, just decent. Return stayed at Belvada; it was charming, heritage-rich, beautiful, inviting staff, warm luxurious room and bathroom with good coffee and amenities. It transformed what was a very difficult trip (personal reasons). The staff welcomed my dog. It is situated right on the main street, fully lit with lots of interests on a walkabout. We were traveling home to Reno from Las Vegas and planned to stay in Tonopah for the night. We knew about the Mizpah Hotel but didn't realize the Belvada opened in 2020. We hadn't been to Tonopah in roughly five years or so. After researching the Belvada's website we decided to stay in one of their King Suite's and appreciated the fact they offered a military/veteran's discount. We were able to make the reservation easily using their website and were excited to stay at this historical property. Upon arriving we walked into the beautiful lobby and were impressed with the furnishings and attention to detail. We were greeted by Edward at the front desk who was friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel has five stories and the guest rooms are located on floors 2-5 while the lobby and cafe occupy the first floor. We did confirm with Edward that a portion of the basement is going to be a speakeasy which will also be a cool addition! Our room was located on the fourth floor and was decorated tastefully but also had modern conveniences such as a small refrigerator, microwave, TV's and lamps with USB and power outlets. The bathroom was also cute and had huge towels and comfortable guest robes. They also provide lip balm with the provided toiletries. We have never seen that! The bedding was very nice as well and we slept very good. This is a beautiful and restful stay in the middle of the desert. We would highly recommend! read more

No one at the front desk after 7pm. I had a reservation, arrived around 7:30pm to 7:45pm but there was no one at the front desk. There was another couple having the same issue of finding someone to check us in. There was a sign about a sister hotel across the street and a phone number to call but there was a cell outage or something going on because I didn't have service (T-mobile) and the other folks were Verizon and also had no service. Tried the sister hotel for help but there wasn't anyone to flag down there either and no parking available at either hotel. They claim there is but it's 3 spots in front of the Belvada or you risk the Convention Center parking lot. Both my family and the other folks ended up going down the street to the Best Western. I contacted the Belvada hotel for assistance but didn't hear back. Tried again only to be told I was lying about being in their lobby and that I wouldn't be refunded as they had no one on their security footage in the lobby. Do yourself a favor, avoid this hotel and stay at one of the others in town. read more

Great hotel! My room had a microwave, mini fridge and a nespresso machine ! The hotel was clean and even though it is an old building , the rooms feel new with a touch of the Wild West. The bed was so comfortable, I slept straight through the night ! There is no hotel parking , but I parked right behind at the convention center parking lot. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel does not have a bar, so I went across the street to the Mitzpah for a drink. I would definitely stay here again! read more

We frequently drive between Las Vegas and Reno, and if you're not from Nevada, you probably don't realize that it's a 7 1/2 drive without stops. We typically start early morning (3 a.m.) and go straight through, but this is such a short trip for us, and I had no desire to drive through the night and be miserable the single full day of our trip. I made the executive decision to book a hotel at the halfway point, Tonopah. With the construction and running of a solar power plant north of town, Tonopah has seen a revival, and a slew of new gas stations and hotels have sprung up. Some of these had less expensive options, but I love historical Nevada, and the Belvada is an original from Tonopah's boomtown days. The Belvada was constructed in 1906 and renovated in 2020. Approaching the building right after sunset and seeing it all lit was a new experience for me (I've only seen it in the day!), and the glow seemed to expressed both welcome and pride in the structure. We parked in the gravel lot behind the building marked for the Tonopah convention center and made it a point to enter through the front entrance, though we noted you could enter of the North side of the building and still access the front desk. One important note is that north door has ADA access to the elevator, but there are still stairs to the front desk from either entrance, so checking in for someone in a wheelchair would require accommodations. The reception area has been completely touched up, while preserving the original feel of the hotel. I loved seeing the original cherub lamps all lit up and the classic circular couch that I've only seen in movies and one other hotel that was also over 100 years old. I could also see the coffee shop off the side of the reception area, and later saw that it opened at 6 am. The reception clerk was so nice and must've thought we were quite the crew, as she had to eloquently navigate my 10 year old's questions about hauntings, while simultaneously assuring my 5 year old that there are no ghosts in the building. We took the clean elevator up to our third floor room and noted how the renovations on this floor had joined two previously single rooms to create doubles with two queen beds. Both beds had bedside tables with lamps that feature an outlet and USB port for charging, along with T.V.s and a bench. Above the beds were ceiling air conditioning units that worked incredibly, with a digital thermostat on the wall. There was also a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot, perfect for longer stays. My five year old loved the brass bed frames and declared, "I'm sleeping on a gold bed!" Our bathroom was a good size, but narrow. I brushed my teeth with both kids, finding plenty of room once I pushed them away from the door. It only included a walk-in shower and my husband said it had great pressure, no issues with hot water, and the towels were gigantic, which made him so happy. Our sleep was good, with medium firmness on both the mattress and pillows. The room was very dark, with sunlight blocking curtains, but the A.C., smoke detectors, and T.V.s all had small lights that were a bit jarring in the darkness. Overall we had a short but amazing stay and hope to plan another trip soon and stay at the Belvada for a full weekend, take advantage of Tonopah's starry skies, and write more reviews on the local spots. read more

This is the best hotel in Tonopah hands down. I loved the restoration of this hotel and the amenities inside. There's ample of parking outside of the hotel but they also have tons of parking behind the hotel. I always book their king bed and have always stayed at the top floor but have never stayed on any other floor. The room has everything that we need from a microwave, fridge and even an espresso machine. Gotta love that! Thick walls and I can't hear nobody hear us or anybody talking and that's big for us especially with a 18 month old baby. Price is the same as others hotels in Tonopah. I stayed at Belvada twice. Once on the way to AZ and on the way back. Pet Friendly ($20) for a pet. A Certified service dog is no cost. I see a reviewer below stayed here cuz he got a flat tire in the vicinity and needed a place to sleep. Lucky for him! As for us, we planned hitting Tonopah for the express reason that this hotel was ALIVE AGAIN. Dedicated 2 nights of our week off to this place. Ghost towns, hot springs, and long open desolate desert roads are what we seek out and whenever possible we opt for the historic accommodations. Just a few years ago it was a forlorn hulk open to the wind and rain with only wildlife as tenants. Today, thanks to the hearts and capable hands of the owners, and the city that entrusted them, this is absolutely the most awesome vintage hotel I know of. If you have enjoyed vintage hotels such as those in SF (RIP) or Vancouver, or other cities, and have also sought out frontier towns for their period buildings, then you have got to make the Belvada a priority destination - this hotel scratches both of those itches. The renovation has been so well done, the lobby is just stunning, the rooms are airy, bright, spacious, warm and clean, the bathrooms are meticulous, the the views are fantastic... I believe the reopening was just a year ago - December 2020. We were in room 50 looking out to the west over the town's collection of old miner's cabins that sweep up the hillside that twinkled with Christmas lights in the snow. That town has cheer. Thats the room on the website with 2 queens facing each other and no kitchen. In the morning following our first night we took an off-road drive south out of Tonopah toward Alkali Hot Springs (passed on dipping there) and then up over Silver Peak via Coyote Canyon out to the Fish Lake Valley and the hot springs there (fantastic - you gotta go). In most seasons you could safely do it in a two wheel drive vehicle, though the summit was icy slick this time and 4WD was used for only 1000ft. The climb up and the descent is super scenic with grand distant vistas as well as narrow canyons with desert big horn sheep, deer, gray foxes and birds. Then took the highway 6/95 back east to The Belvada. Staff is great. Building is awesome. Towels are fat fluffy things, the beds are excellent, the lip balm was welcome next to the soaps and suds. The lobby coffee bar is very nice, fairly priced and the muffins are exceptional. The in-room coffee, refrigerator and microwave is nice. But those big tall windows afford the best view you can get of Tonopah, Nevada. The owners also own a vineyard, home of Cline winery. There are photos of bottles of wine in the rooms on the website. As I have found such a welcoming amenity in hotels before, and this is the family brand, I mistakenly thought we may find a bottle there to greet us. Not the case. Not even available for purchase. This may be a legal issue / no license or so. Had I known I would have brought a bottle of Cline from our house to enjoy there. They do offer those gorgeous Belvada wine glasses for sale at the reception. We bought some. read more

What a great find! This cute boutique hotel in Tonopah, Nevada is the perfect halfway point and place to stay if you are headed to Reno from Las Vegas. The hotel has been totally renovated and reopened in December 2020. The rooms are adorable and are big. The lobby and sitting area are charming and tastefully decorated. There is a breakfast bar attached to the hotel. Although there is no lunch/ dinner restaurant available, there is a restaurant across the street at the Mitzpah hotel and down the street at the Tonopah Brewing Company.. btw, both of these are also owned by the same family that owns the Belvada Hotel. read more

Our last stay, and I mean our "last" stay was in June of 24 and we were stunned at the decline of a hotel we had really enjoy staying at in the past. This was our sixth time staying there. We stayed in the same room each time. I will only talk about the condition of the room although there were other issues. The room looked as if it had not been used for a long time. It was really dirty. Windows had not been washed and had bird poop on them. There was a squashed bug on the wall and live beetle in our bed. A table with a near broken leg and thick dust everywhere. I had to clean the mirror in the bathroom because it was smeared with a white substance. A Cheeto on the carpet was in the middle of the floor. It could have been a room in a flop house but not a flop house rates. We ate across the street in the Pittman Cafe the following morning and toast was extra and the meal was dismal. The evening meal in the Jack Dempsey room was subpar. It had been great in the past. I don't know what has happened at this hotel but the Clines really need to take a serious look at the problems. I am adding to my review just because I looked at other reviews and notice that if you gave less than a four star review the business manager does not respond to criticism. I also refrained from mentioning the front desk person, but not only did we find him surly as another reviewer described his mood but acted as if anything other than taking the key and getting out of his sight was a great transgression. (had to get back to the cell phone) My entire work life has been with the public including nearly 30 years with a major airline. I understand the public and how to make them happy. We just loved this beautiful Hotel. The restoration was done with such Class, it was just perfect all around. My Husband (a native Nevadan) was so impressed with all the detail. Our room was so pretty and spacious, furniture so authentic, bed and linens quite nice. Super neat coffee expresso machine. And when we left on Saturday morning, in there awesome lobby they had fresh pastries and coffee, such a nice send off. So hoping we can visit again soon. read more

The Hotel was great. Just wouldn't recommend spending the extra for the bed and breakfast package. The room was very nice. We had everything that we would need . The breakfast that comes with the package has a $35 dollar value . We were one of the first customers for the breakfast , which is in the Mizpah Hotel across the street. It is called the Pittman Cafe. They told us when we came in that it may take a couple of minutes if we wanted pancakes. No big deal. We waited. 15 minutes later , she asked if it would be ok to substitute a biscuit or toast. Again , no problem. So basically we were just waiting on bacon and eggs. By now the restaurant had began to fill up. We are now into this for 35 to 40 minutes. Everyone else's breakfast was coming out no problems. Bacon, eggs, same as what we ordered. Whay they couldn't serve ours , as we had been waiting for now close to an hour , I have no clue. We finally got up to leave and the waitress asked us for our $35 dollar meal voucher. I asked why? Since we never were served. She had no answer other than we had 1 coffee an 1 orange juice. So basically the hotel was responsible for not crediting any of our breakfast voucher. It honestly pains me to leave a two star review for such a beautiful hotel in my hometown we went for the weekend to spend time with the family for Father's Day. We have stayed at the Belvada around 10 times since their opening as it's usually my first choice when in Tonopah. This time it was disappointing. First of all, we arrived in town earlier than planned and while we waited on other family, I called around noon to see if we could check in early. I was told "you can if the room is ready, but you'll be charged for an early check-in". I'm already paying $170 for the night in a town of less than 2,000 people and you want to charge extra to check-in early??? What?!?! I have stayed at hotels all across the country and have NEVER EVER had to pay to check-in early!!! Next, we arrive after dinner and check in. Check-in goes as usual, we go up to our room, (Room 20) which we've stayed in before, but this time was fairly disappointing. Both nightstands were at one bed instead of one at each bed, the bathroom towel rack was 2/3 missing and the toilet paper holder was missing the piece that holds the toilet paper. As someone who worked for the Clines when the Mizpah first reopened, I know first hand that this is not how they expect their hotels to be seen. After this weekends experience, I'm not sure if we will stay at the Belvada again as it seems to be going downhill. Luckily I still have time to cancel my reservation there at the end of the month!! read more

I have stayed at the Belvada three times twice for 2 nights. It appears that with the intense competition for workers that the hotel is slipping down in cleanliness and service. No service for multiple night guests and running out of regular express coffee pods . The paint in hall ways is needing work and when I opened the drapes there was many months of grime on window sills. Possibly the manager could help with cleaning. I enjoyed my first two stays but am not pleased with my last visit. These are trying times for us all and maybe I expect to much Thank You read more

This was one of my favorite hotels and I always stop here. I gave this place 5 stars a few years ago but now I cannot give a good rating. This place is not being maintained like before. My room had a broken towel rack, no clothes hangers, and scuffed walls. There used to be nice bath robes but now the robes ate downstairs for sale at $85. The nice china for in-room coffee has been replaced by paper cups. The rates have gone up a lot and the front desk attendant can best be described as surly. What happened? This place was a hidden gem! We had to take stop midway to Reno because of flat tire and decided to stay the night. It was a last minute booking so it was difficult to find a place but this hotel had available rooms. The building has a ton of history to it and is remodeled perfectly! Huge rooms and very clean! Free internet! Parking is in a lot right next to hotel which is a little small but didn't have any trouble parking a moving truck towing another vehicle. There is also a cafe in the lobby that serves pastries and coffee (not included but the prices are not bad). Overall, if your in a pinch to find a place to stay or if you're just wanting to stay in town for the night I would highly recommend the place. read more

We were super excited about staying here. To be able to take a little stroll into the past. The hotel outside and in is fantastically renovated. It has kept so much of the original charm and character that we love. It's in a wonderful location next to its sister property the mizpah that has a great bar area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely and simply decorated. The room was large and bathroom counter had room for my makeup bag which is always nice. Towels were soft and large. Now here is the reason for the 3 stars. First I went to take a relaxing bath and before any bath at a hotel I like to clean the tub. Well as soon as I went to rub the sides the previous bathers dirt and grime came sloughing off. Thats usually is a sign it wasn't cleaned, much like at your own house. The toiletries were nice minus I don't know one girl who can get away with using a shampoo and conditioner combo. So be sure to pack your own. Let's get to the bed! Pillows were great. The mattress was so hard I couldn't sleep and my whole body hurt when I got up. My bf who loves harder beds also couldn't sleep. He was so uncomfortable and said as soon as he slept on his side his arms fell asleep from being pinched against the hard surface. So no sleep for us which was awful. But perhaps they were trying to give you the feeling of sleeping back in the old days. Walls are thin so I advise bringing some earplugs if you are a light sleeper. read more

On a recent road trip, we spent a night at the beautiful and historic Belvada Hotel. We came for that wonderful feeling of someplace real, transformed by people of vision . . . and to thrill the kids with stories of hauntings, let's be honest. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the small touches, like the three old books. Best of all was the staff: kind and efficient for check in. questions and check out. When we realized a prized stuffed toy had been left behind, we contacted the hotel and they quickly located the toy and got it sent to us without delay with the extra touch of a personal note. It is clear to me that the Clines have hired and inspired the kind of people who truly care for the travelers staying with them, no matter how briefly.
