This place is always busy! It must be due to the friendly staff who provide excellent service. We tried the Marshmallow Sky ice cream in a sugar cone and the salted caramel blondie in a cup. The scoops are generous. We ate outside on a bench. Inside is a little crowded - only a few tables & chairs next to the long line for ice cream. I've HAD BJs for years. But I'd never EXPERIENCED BJs until I went to this one. We simply DON'T have any Ben & Jerry's locations near me. Don't know why - we like ice cream in the Baltimore area. Both my dad and brother are vegan, so we were having trouble finding somewhere that offered vegan desserts. When we found out Ben and Jerry's offers two non-dairy flavors, we didn't hesitate. The guy who helped us was friendly and very knowledgeable about the flavors. I got gimme smore, which was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, the price is pretty high, but that's typical for Ben and Jerry's, and especially Gatlinburg. Not much seating in the restaurant, so I would recommend taking your ice cream and eating it elsewhere. read more

Gattlinburg Tn location Bought a ice cream cone $7.83 was put on my card pending, alittle high for a simple cone but hey its in heart of tourist trap so ok. But issue is they put as pending only to give me time to get home then change price from $7.83 pending charge to $9 final. That to me is stealing from me. So my fellow shoppers watch this store. Me and my wife where walking around downtown Gatlinburg, when a very nice young lady stopped us with a free sample. And who doesn't love free. Then my wife wanted a milkshake so we went inside. The staff was super friendly! When we got to the cashier my wife asked if they had a military discount, and they said well if you have an ID it's free then. We were both shocked and thought they were joking. We showed them my ID, and they weren't kidding. We got 2 milkshakes and a cookie all for FREE WITH MY VETERN ID!!! We came in during a frightening rain storm. Our ice cream was delicious as always! They were very understanding of the storm and didn't push us out when we finished. We were very impressed with their wooden spoons. Plastic just adds to the landfill waste. We were told paper straws are on order. We commend this establishment for their environmental efforts even though the spoons are more expensive and less popular. read more

My family had a great experience here, on a hot summer night. All of Gatlinburg can be swamped in the hot season, so we played in the park during the day, and strolled the streets at night.** I do not usually seek out name brand shops, but I am a fan of this brand, and their environmental practices, lack of GMOs* and community services. Plus, my friends kept talking the place up. We sought this shop out. I had a flavorful, coffee smoothie, that was far better then any starbuckesque offering. It tasted more...like real ingredients. I think I got the frozen caramel macchiato. My husband got a similar drink (a chocolate shake with a shot o' joe) and my in-laws both got mix-ins. (Ice cream with extra toppings mixed in.) We all enjoyed our selections. A lot. The staff was young and polite. It might seem funny, but my favorite thing about the shop was the laminated menues at the begining of the line area. There was no wait, but I liked being able to hold it in my hands instead of looking up at the menu on the wall. I think this is probably nice for folks with visual impairments. I still crave these coffee shakes in the winter, and now it is really easy to sneak in and grab one on the drive home. *Why do I prefer this brand?: 80% of Ben & Jerry's ingredients are already non-GMO and 22 of the flavors are fully non-GMO. They have committed to sourcing all non-GMO ingredients for all their products by the end of 2013. (I learned this from the shop's owner, Julie. You can also find this on the interwebs.) **The best way to visit this shop is while already walking the G'burg strip. I would suggest the Tanger outlet location for anyone wanting to just run in for a quick fix. Of course there is still handicapped parking available closer to the Gatlinburg shop, for those needing it! read more

The ice cream is delicious - the Addicted to Chocolate and Half Baked shakes are wonderful - but the employees were phenomenal! My wife dropped her shake before we left the store. The employee nearest to her told her not to worry, grabbed a towel and cleaned it up, and offered to make her a new shake for no charge. My wife tried to decline, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Another woman also came to the counter from outside. Her daughter dropped her cone, and another employee gave her a new one for free.
