One of the few store fronts for Ben & Jerry's in the area. The big downside is location. Its near the waterfront and there is very little/no parking. If you come for just this be prepared to hunt for parking and deal with some crazy traffic on the weekends. Store itself was clean and smelled amazing. I love that they have flavors you can not find in the store so you can discover something new. Staff was friendly. Even though there was an event at the park near and they where clearly busy the staff was friendly and happy to let us try samples. read more

It's national ice cream day so we decided to grab some ice cream and this was in the area. We got a small with coconut almond chip/berry berry extraordinary and a half baked shake. The ice cream was good and I definitely like the coconut almond chip, it was different but very tasty. I'm also glad I got half ice cream half sorbet because the sweetness from the ice cream was a little too much for my taste. The shake was pretty standard as well. They have these paper straws to use and I don't think it works well for the shake. The shake is too thick that eventually the paper straw gets too damaged that you can't use it anymore. Admittedly, I went in only to score the free ice cream. Just a few people in front of me at the line. The staff was energetic and fast. Good for them on what must be a busy day. Also admittedly, I have never bought anything despite living in the neighborhood for longer than the store has been in place. I don't see any flavors that I couldn't buy at the grocery store. Guess I'm too cheap to buy a smaller scoop on a cone than I can buy from any grocery store, especially when it's on sale. On a hot summer day though, I see the line snaking outside. Good for them. Just not for me. :) I go buy gelato down the street instead. The interior of the store is quite old by now. There are very few tables. Don't expect to bring a big crowd and everyone sit down. There are a couple of small tables outside, great on a non-rainy day. Hey, it is the Pacific Northwest after all. Bought a pint container of ice cream from this store for $6 and discovered that it was clearly melted and refrozen ice cream with a huge gap in the side of the container with no ice cream. The ice cream tasted nasty and had to be thrown away. I would not go back to this store again. read more

B&J's is my go-to ice cream at the grocery store, yet I rarely visit any of their storefronts. One of my besties came to visit and she's a big B&J's fan, so we knew we had to go. We received great customer service. This girls working the night we went were extremely personable, friendly, and energetic. I was so happy to find out that we could sample flavors (I wasn't sure if that option was back yet), so I admittedly had to ask to try a few samples... :) I ended up getting the Marshmallow Sky (5/5 and not a flavor they sell in grocery stores) and The Tonight Dough (3/5 to be honest... I thought I loved the flavor, but ended up realizing it's not one of my favorites). I can't remember all of the flavors that I sampled, but I do remember trying the Whiskey Biz which was 5/5 for sure. I can't wait until they finally have Totally Unbaked as an option! If you've been anxiously awaiting its arrival (like me), just know that we have to wait until they get through their Punch Line. Punch Line is also good, so I do recommend trying it!! This place is filthy! It appears that it hasn't had a good cleaning in quite some time. We were there on Saturday evening and the front door was dirty, the ice cream cases had hand prints and other mess and clearly needed to be cleaned inside and out. The counters have junk all over them; behind the cases and on top. There was only one employee working and he looked miserable. I was off on a picture taking adventure in Kirkland and saw Ben and Jerry's with a sign that said "free cones". Of course, at first glance, I thought this was a joke, and just a banner to catch my eyes, but they truly were giving out a free scoop of ice cream to everyone that came in. As someone who organizes many events, this free cone day was well organized. I was greeted with an employee who had a menu of what the free scoops were to choose from and the line was easy to get through. I have to admit that I did not really believe that it would be free, but the employee with the menu said "this is our gift to you, we hope that you will come back sometime to see us.". My wife and I almost ALWAYS go to Sirena's down the street for gelato. But sometimes BnJ's is more satisfying. We walked in and was immediately greeted which was nice. Felt welcomed. Dude behind the counter was enthusiastic and made sure we tried some samples before we decided. Also complimented my son on his shades. Was the ice cream good? Of course it was! But a majority already know this. The reviews are based on the business and the experience with the employees. The level of customer service from the gentlemen behind the counter was impressive. Which is odd to say because we're just talking about an ice cream place. It was enough to leave an impression so I thought I'd give them 5 stars. I really love Ben & Jerry's ice cream and have visited this location many times. Tonight was unusually bad in so many ways. It was 30 minutes before closing and we stopped in for a Mother's Day treat. There were three young girls working, well at least two looked like they were working. One girl was on her cell phone the entire time and talking about personal things with the other workers, so I'm not sure if she really worked there. The girl who helped us, looked like she couldn't handle another minute in front of customers and seemed on edge at each question I asked. I eventually just said I'll save my other question for later and she said ok. After we got our ice cream we sat down and watched as the girl who was on her phone scooped ice cream, literally with her entire head in the freezer case and her hair pressed up against the inside of the glass! Another customer came in and was unhappy with the cost of her ice cream, to which the same employee who helped us, emotionlessly looked at her as if she was a nuisance. Although she attempted fix the situation, her attitude was terrible. As soon as the customer left the three girls began to discuss the lady who just left in a negative way, while I was still in the store listening to everything. Is this Ben & Jerry's run by teenagers? I think so. I live 5 minutes away yet to scoop a small amount of ice cream into a cup takes an hour. I've had shorter delivery time from Bellevue. Every time my ice cream comes as soup (tonight it is 60 degrees so not hot enough to melt) - I guess the kids put it in a cup, set it on the counter for 30 minutes so it can melt, then deliver..? I've never really liked this location as it is the only ice cream shop near the Kirkland waterfront & beaches, therefore it gets packed on nice days & evenings, but is T-I-N-Y inside. Staff is fantastic, friendly, and manage to keep a great sense of humor despite how busy they are during these warmer days. If I could individually rate the staff alone from the shop, they'd get 4 or 5 stars, easy. It's not an easy or glamorous job, but they make the best of what it is. Otherwise, ugh. Stand in the ridiculously long line, order and pay for your scoops, then get the heck out before someone's wily child Chunky Monkeys your pant leg. Awesome, awesome, awesome. We got our wedding cake here 9 years ago: three tiers with two different flavors of ice cream per tier. This was far cheaper - and far tastier - than doing a wedding cake from anywhere else, ice cream or not. It had been years since I'd been back, but Jenn is still there and as nice and helpful as ever. I've been there on other days with some of the newer, younger employees and was pleasantly surprised to find friendly custoomer service from them, too. You can special order hard-to-find flavors here as well, not to mention they carry all the Scoop Shop-only exclusive flavors. This place hit the spot for my sweet tooth. A scoop each of black raspberry and chocolate fudge brownie in a waffle cup.. such a killer combo! What I noticed at this location was what others had stated, the workers are not friendly and are not generous with the scoops. They give you small scoops as if they own the store. Workers here should crack a smile or two and come correct with the scoops. You're supposed to carve into the bucket of ice cream more than twice to get a nice plump scoop! read more

What happened to this place? Ice cream is still good but this location is just dirty. Sign in door saying cash only. Sign on bathroom saying closed for cleaning, but we saw the employees use it while we sat and ate ice cream. The front of the store looks like a storage room with boxes, Christmas lights, Amazon Fresh delivery bin and a few umbrellas. And...floor a mess.
