First of all, I live in Danville but like the Harrodsburg DQ better, I live in H'burg for 7 years.i went there today @9am, went to pay for my order and the lady took my card and shut the window before I could ask for the senior discount. Update: just saw my credit card charge notification and I was charged $7 for a mini blizzard because they placed my whole mini blizzard in a larger blizzard cup (it was a mini cup inside a larger cup - they double cupped it) and charged me for the large blizzard. Pay attention if your drive through order is packaged funny - they didn't tell me how much I owed when I initially ordered a blizzard so I didn't catch it to complain. I just called this DQ location to double check the price because my card was charged almost $7 for one mini blizzard. The person I talked to said sorry, there is nothing we can do. ............................................ The Blizzard was so runny they put the mini blizzard cup inside a larger blizzard cup.... TLDR: blizzards with berries taste better. I had never been to a DQ before and decided to grab a blizzard. As eye catching and novel as they were to me, the taste wasn't too great in my honest opinion. I found that the blizzards aren't too sweet (which can be a good thing for most) but the flavors taste the same with every bite (besides the blizzards with berries). I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of person that wants to be able to taste the individual flavors of things in my ice cream rather than have every bite be the same. My palate enjoys variety otherwise that cup gets boring real fast. I've tried a few flavors and have come to the conclusion that the blizzards with berries taste the best. read more

This Dairy Queen has been around for over 30 years. It is currently ran by a husband and wife duo who are amazing. The staff they have are trained well and very quick. We love their Crispy Chicken Salad with ranch dressing and of course my little boys enjoy their small sundaes and cones. If I ask them a question they are always quick to help and make sure that there is a smile on their customers faces. Dairy Queen isn't just a "fast food" place, it's like family! Idk if it is the nostalgia of getting a blizzard from when I was young or if they really are just THAT good. One of my favorite desserts! I always go with the chocolate ice cream blizzard with cookie dough added in. They have a new brownie dough that is just as good! I got the large and it definitely put me in a food coma but it was too good to not finish. You get a lot of bang for your buck. The ice cream tastes fresh. Super thick and creamy. Great low key atmosphere to get a treat with friends and hang out a little bit. Our orders came out quick and were made right. Nothin better on a hot summer evening. I ordered a small Oreo blizzard and then as i was eating it i tasted something funky and saw that they put tomatoes in the blizzard...

Awful, slow service that can't get an order right and then overcharges. The drive through is awful. I went through twice (second time to get the ice cream with kids meals, more on that later) and got held up behind slow customers both times. Obviously there's not much they can do about indecisive customers, but you can urge them to decide or move. The second time, the lady was making a very large order. They should've told her to go inside for that. Instead, the line backed up 20 minutes. Once I was able to order, they gave me fries instead of the apple sauce I asked for in one of the kids meals. Later, when we went back through to get cones, I asked for swirl (chocolate and vanilla swirled together) but they gave us vanilla. Worse, because I dared to ask for those cones to be dipped, they overcharged me. The meal clearly says a free kids cone or $0.50 off something else. Well, I ordered a kids cone. It should've been free, with the extra cost of dipping added in ($0.25 or whatever that is). Instead, they charged me $1.50 ($2 - $0.50), which is wrong. I've been going to this DQ for over a decade, and aside from occasionally having runny blizzard problems (btw, they didn't serve my blizzard upside down; it should've been free ...) they've never been this awful. Hopefully it's just a fluke, but as it stands right now you're better off going next door to McD's. At least they've never screwed up my order and overcharged me for the convenience. read more

Giving a three star for now until they support curbside delivery. 3 out of the last 6 times I tried to go here the drive thru line was so long it wrapped around the building and blocked traffic. The sign on the door says they support curbside delivery. Yelp says they support take out. Neither are true, so until they support either of these I'm going to rate this three stars. Two orders ago they lost the order so it took longer for the dasher to deliver the order and my last order they gave me a regular fry instead of the large fry I ordered. :-( -update- Thought I'd give them one more try and this time I received two regular fries instead of the two large fries I paid for. Also the lids were not fastened on both drinks so by the time I got them they were only about half full with the rest leaking out of the bottom of the bag. Over the last 6 months I have placed dozens of orders to many different restaurants via doordash without a single mistake. So far this DQ is batting about 50%. It melted overnight, and with the party a few hours I was stressed out about what to do. I went back to Dairy Queen to see if we can get anything that was available. Kevin had such empathy. This without question is one of the best operated fast food restaurants I have ever encountered. The food is always fresh, flavorful with high quality taste. The prices are on par with any other Dairy Queen location and it appears that this Dairy Queen participates with nationwide promotions. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The managers are always present and it is clear they work side by side with staff taking care of guests. The chicken strips here are of good portion size. Some DQ locations have small strips, if you ever do get a small strip here, they always give you an extra one and point it out to you, so you know you are getting the full value you paid for. This happened to me only once at this location, but the two smaller sized strips clearly made up for one normal size strip. This Dairy Queen is hands down five stars. It is also the perfect place to wait if you are having your car serviced at the 76 Juanita Firs station across the street, which is yet another hands down 5 Yelp Stars business. read more

Drove by this Dairy Queen and could see there were 6-7 cars in the drive through late on a week night. I just had to get a chocolate dipped cone on my way back a few minutes later. They have the winding line barrier here similar to what you would see at Wendy's and the line went quickly. I ordered my come and was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was free one day! This location is tucked in the corner of a property and parking is a little tight but pretty convenient. The restaurant itself is fairly clean and the staff is pretty attentive. I'd return here the next time I'm in the area. read more

I came in to order an ice cream cake for my son's birthday party last weekend. The employee I spoke with said they didn't have any Disney Cars themed cakes, so I just asked for plain writing and border and figured I could decorate it myself with some toy cars, etc. I ended up calling the day before I was to pick up my cake asking if I could pick it up earlier and Kevin answered. He shared that he decorates the cakes and said it wasn't a problem to get it early. He also asked about the cake and said he could add in a road and characters and that he was happy to make it more Cars themed. My husband ended up picking up the cake that night and Kevin came out to greet him. The cake was awesome and far exceeded our expectations. My son loved it and guests raved about it. It wasn't just a Cars picture he stuck on, the little details were great and having it ready early really helped us out, so thank you again! read more

This is the only Dairy Queen nearby, which is a shame considering what I have to say. I'll start by saying I love the food at Dairy Queen, this one included. We had burgers, they were great. I usually get the chicken strips, and they I'm always happy with it. This last experience was kind of a deal-breaker. I saw multiple employees including cooks and the cashier not wearing masks, or wearing them under their nose. This is a betrayal of the public trust, and a failing on multiple levels. Both management, and the individual workers at the restaurant are responsible here for allowing this to happen. I won't be returning, and I don't recommend others to eat at this Dairy Queen until we get a commitment from the management to be better. Update: I've been contacted by Kevin from the local Dairy Queen. I don't recall if he was the owner or manager, but I'm happy with the conversation we had and believe that the restaurant will take measures to protect their customers and staff. I look forward to giving the Juanita Dairy Queen another shot. read more
