Even though it is entering fall and the temperature is dropping, I find myself continuing to return to Greenlake for some sweet, sweet B&J's. The staff is always cheerful and upbeat and try to be as helpful as possible. There is limited, crowded indoor seating but if the day is nice there are plenty of tables outside. If you're up for it, there is also a nice walking path around the lake right across the street that provides some scenery for your creamy indulgence. Makes for a great date! I only rate this location 4 stars because of price and frequent technical difficulties. I rarely carry more than $5-10 cash unless I am expecting to use more before I leave the house and the majority of the times I have visited this location their card reader has been down without the employees knowing how to fix it or who to call. As for price, it seems a bit outrageous to me that a small cone costs more than an entire pint of the same flavor at any major grocer. I guess you pay for the experience. read more

I have a son with a major dairy allergy who loves sorbet. We asked for a clean scoop and Kui the manager dug way down into the layers to get a untouched part , put on new gloves a few times, and opened a new package of bowls. If you're nearby and need a quick fix for some ice cream it'll do the trick but I can't help feeling like if there were a proper grocery store closer I'd go there to buy a pint of B&J instead. They're flavor offerings are pretty limited, a scoop is ridiculously expensive for what you get and the shop itself feels a bit claustrophobic. Again, if you were, say, at Zeek's for pizza and wanted something sweet afterwards then this is a good option just outside the door but I can't see myself driving or walking just to come here. You're better off going to a grocery store to buy some Ben & Jerry's ice cream and then coming to Green Lake with a spoon... still the ice cream is delicious... Meh. read more

You really can't go wrong with Ben & Jerry's. The ice cream is delicous (chocolate cherry garcia oh how I love you). Service is fast and friendly. They were even friendly on Free Cone Day, which coincidentally is my favorite holiday of the year. Sure, it's more or just as expensive as buying a pint of the same ice cream at the grocery store. But if I did that I would just eat the whole pint eventually, which would defeat the point of going to the gym, and that would be bad. Also, I wouldn't be able to have a waffle cone, or eat my ice cream at Green Lake. Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood, but the store is right across the street from the bus stop for the 48 (and other busses too). read more

Ice cream was great, but the service not so much. The guy behind the counter seemed rather annoyed with my 6 year old son, who happens to have autism. We felt very rushed and as if we were inconveniencing them even though there was no one behind us. If you don't like kids and have no patience then maybe you shouldn't be working at an ice cream shop. A ten minute wait (only one other customer in the store), my server blew her nose in front of me (she rolled her eyes when I asked if she would wash her hands) and a tiny scoop of ice cream. The customer service was horrifying and, quite frankly, unsanitary. I don't mind slow service, and I understand that sometimes we have to go to work to make ends meet even if we're sick. Just don't blow and pick your nose in front of me and then serve me ice cream. I couldn't bring myself to eat my cone. Located in a corner of a tiny strip of stores, it's easy to miss this little store. On hot days, there is often a line out the door, but it moves pretty fast. There is a moderate selection of ice cream flavors, and you can choose from a variety of cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Ben and Jerry are my boyfriends. Before living in proximity to a scoop shop, I would often pick them up at the grocery store for a night in. Scoop shops are an amazing idea in the first place--you can't go wrong with ice cream anytime. Green Lake is no different, it's an amazing treat after a run or walk around the lake or after some Zeeks Pizza--right next door. Plus, Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shops have flavors you can't find at the grocery store. AND they let you taste-test so you know exactly what you're getting before you pay. Yeah, it's a little spendy, but c'mon so decadent! Also, no one should be spending TOO much time with Ben & Jerry. As a special treat, it's quite reasonable. Parking is insanely lacking!!!!!!!! This is located in a very small strip mall directly across from the lake. We drove around in circles for an hour and never did find parking. People ended up just jumping out of the car and then wait for us to come back around to pick them up. read more

Go here mostly out of convenience (under a 10 minute walk from our house) but it's too rich for my tastes - both in terms of calories and cost. Ice cream on a cold day??? Why not! Took my son here for the first time. I couldn't decide on a flavor, and hot fudge sounded really good. So I played boring and got a sundae. I knew I could've tried the flavors, but I think I'd still want them all. It would be cool to have more of a selection, though....maybe.....I've just learned that I can't go to a store and buy a pint of B&J or else I'll eat it all in one sitting. Very bad. It was a weekday evening, so not too busy, but we definately weren't the only customers. There was only one server, but I don't think that was an issue at all. I really like this place, always a pleasure to have ice cream right!. They are very sweet, very polite, even when they have a line going out the door during the summer. I couldn't scoop that much ice cream every day, I think my arm would fall off. Lol. I have noticed that the serving size has gotten pretty small lately. Which is a shame because of the amount you are spending is a lot higher then other places. I am the type to not go every day to somewhere just "ok", but rather go somewhere "fabulous" once in a while. I was looking forward all day to a hand packed pint. I had gone to a previous location THREE-3 days ago and had found the perfect order of half of one flavor and half of another in a pint. I even called ahead to make sure they had my flavor only to show up and hear that "policy" has changed a MONTH ago- how come I got it at another location within the past few days? We said really, you can't just add two flavors instead of one, same amount of ICECREAM just maybe 7 seconds extra of changing flavors- and they LOST a customer. I walked out. We hired the Ben & Jerry's ice cream truck for our wedding in Snohomish and it was a hit! They communicated clearly and promptly leading up to the wedding. On the day of, they arrived 30 minutes early and served ice cream out of the truck for an hour. They saved us so much time and energy, as we did not have to plan for setting up or breaking down any sort of dessert--they did it all! I would highly recommend hiring these guys if you're looking for a fun dessert on your wedding day. Also, it goes without saying, the ice cream is delicious. read more
