Oh. My. GOSH I said this so many times while I was indulging in the amazing quiche from the Urban Bakery. We got the quiche Lorraine and ham and Cheddar. Perfection. I am a quiche connoisseur and this is in the top 2 of my life. Coffee...where do I even start. Perfectly made, not too bitter and the place was quick and a great place after a run. Clean, friendly, and great price! Thank you!! I can't wait to come back and try more of your quiche

Food is so-so. Service is lackadaisical. Feels dirty and unkempt. We were glad to find somewhere that was open, but probably won't be back again.

Unassuming bakery/ coffee shop with delicious pies and quiches! We got the quiche Lorraine and it was FILLED. The blueberry cherry pie also tasted so jammy (with real fruits) and delicious. Nice neighborhood bakery and we're going to come back for more!

We stopped by as this was the closest to grab a quick bite. The food was mediocre and the drinks werent too amazing. The woman at the register was a bit snippy. My fiancé ordered a "sausage breakfast sandwich" and proceeded to order his drink. She cut him off and said, "You need to tell me what else you want." ....meaning what kind of bread and cheese he wanted with his sandwich. After that, I was pretty turned off by the place and wanted to go somewhere else more welcoming.. somewhere I'd much rather spend my money.

Needed a cafe with outdoor seating close to Seattle Public Theater and the Urban Bakery popped up. Kind service and tasty iced Americano. A medium size of that and a day old bakery item (blueberry croissant) came to just under five bucks (yaSSSSSS GOOD PRICE)!! The have a nice little outdoor patio with umbrellas. I found a nice sunny spot near the bamboo to get some studying done. There is a lot of traffic whizzing past, but the location is enclosed in medium sized hedges and it is right across the street from Greenlake park. The inside and awning are a bit dated. Plenty of seating and exactly what I needed.

The last time I had visited The Urban Bakery was over 16 years ago with a pastry school classmate. Let's just say meeting someone here earlier this morning, it was with guarded optimism. Usually I preferred Chocolati next door or the nearby, now closed Bauhaus. But I'm happy to report that the pastry cases were full of a variety of baked goods, including quiches. And for nearly 3 hours, The Urban Bakery had a steady stream of customers to sit awhile like us or as takeout. I can only speak of the 12 ounce mocha (Cafe d'Arte), no latte art, but decently crafted beverage. The barista seemed a bit tired, but between her and another person, they were able to handle the volume of folks coming through. Glad to see a long time indie spot survive and thrive after all these years. Always room for improvement and seemed they took it to heart.

This was a good old cafe not mind blowing but I love good service and the cashier/ barista was just hilarious and sweet. The cafe has nice out door seating and the food is cheaper then most cafes. Also it is right next to green lake which makes it a great stop before a beautiful walk.

Awesome, no-frills breakfast sandwiches. It's the only thing I come here for. You select your own bread, cheese and protein.

Blueberry scone. Salty. Why are there some currents in it? Otherwise tasteless. I won't be back.

The bread is delicious and doesn't get soggy or weighed down by the sauces or toppings, and you really can't go wrong with any of the menu items. The line can be long (rightfully so), but it moves very fast. The staff are efficient and really friendly. The sandwich shop is conveniently located in the heart of Phinney Ridge, a charming neighborhood with plenty of street parking and perfect for a stroll on a beautiful Seattle day. The interior reminds me of a new york style deli - while there is some seating available (I'd say around 10 spots), it's mostly a "grab and go eat elsewhere" like, say, the south end of greenlake. I ended up coming here during their expanded weekend hours - around 12pm on a Saturday - and was greeted to a large line of ~15 people. I was excited to try their "Bottega" sandwich however they were not longer making it so I settled on a Bambino and Gran Sasso sandwich. I enjoyed the bambino. The combination of toppings with the mortadella worked well within their homemade bread (which I thought was the best part for sure). The Gran Sasso - my girlfriend said it was "OK", mostly due to the huge chunks of artichoke hearts (with stems) that were not her favorite. I could see myself coming back here if friends/family wanted to try. At ~$20 a sandwich it is pricey but the ingredients are high quality and the service is friendly.

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

Ordering kiosks inside, not a lot of in person contact. (Perfect for some) The menu options are great. They have a "create your own" plate option, which I got. I ordered 1/2 teriyaki chicken and 1/2 sesame chicken, with brown rice. The meal was $14. If you ask me, that is a hell of a deal! The portion size was pretty hearty. Wait time said 14 minutes, but it was only around 10 minutes. The teriyaki was my fave of the 2 chicken entrees. The meat was thick, juicy and flavorful. (No gross fatty pieces!) The sesame was good too, but next time I would get a full order of the teriyaki alone. In, out, delicious food, good portion size and a decent price! What more could you ask for!!?

My husband, who prides himself as being a Korean who can handle a high spice level was SWEATING eating the spicy chicken. Granted, the menu does warn that it's very spicy, but he was not expecting this level of heat. He was only able to get through about half the meal and commented that he was glad he didn't have work the next day. (If you know, you know.) I'm not sure if this was just an exceptionally spicy batch, or if it's normally this spicy, but be warned! They're not messing around when it comes to the heat. The edamame was also just so-so. It's a bummer that out of the two times we've come here, we've only enjoyed 1 out of their 4 sides. Combining our first and second experience, I think this is a solid 4-star spot. Good for a takeout meal, if you order the right thing.

I have to take a moment for the weekday breakfast sandwich (I added ham). I take my breakfast sandwiches very seriously and had been on the hunt for one since I moved to Seattle. This is easily one of the best and the best in Seattle that I've had so far. I loved the soufflé egg and English muffin, every bite was truly delicious! I also got a savory scone and chocolate chip cookie. The scone was light, but flavor was not my fav. Cookie was very delicious! The staff were super kind and a joy to talk to even when they were busy. There was a small hiccup with my latte order and they accommodated with the complimentary cookie which I truly appreciated. The inside was quite small with a few tables, but they have a covered area outside with tables which I opted for since I felt a bit crammed inside. I will be coming back regularly for the breakfast sandwich though! So delicious!

The egg in the sandwich was very soft in texture which made it more enjoyable. Pretty large portions too. I was full after eating the whole sandwich. The lobster eggs Benedict was also superb. The lobster was perfectly harmonious to the eggs Benedict and it was in large proportions in comparison to the meal. Very well done. The service was great too. Very friendly at the cashiers stand, answering all the little questions about the food and how it's prepared. The interior was cozy and nice too, but there isn't a lot of seating space. Most likely you'd have to sit outside, which was fabulous on a sunny day like today. However, I can see that during winter months when it's rainy, I would imagine taking it to go is probably the only option. Also, the only gripe, if I had to point it out, was the wait was very long. I think it's understandable since it's a very cozy neighborhood spot, but it was intimidating to walk up to a line that spills out the back door. I would say that the line went faster than you think, but if you were in a time crunch, I would be hesitant to recommend this spot. But other than that, a strong rec. love the spot. What a jewel of the Phinney Ridge neighborhood!
